We got a salad, cheese fries, stuffed jalapenos, and a calzone for delivery through a third party ordering app. The calzone was a wonderful portion and absolutely stuffed full of toppings, which was nice and hearty. However, the marinara came on the side and it was very chunky (like stewed tomato bits) and almost too sweet. The salad was also well sized and fresh, but very plain, simple, and with a lackluster dressing. The fries were very typical, good, but not spectacular, and the jalapenos were quite heavily breaded. Way more bread than pepper; though, I realize that most places tend to go easy on the jalapeno, even if that's what the dish should be made of. I love spice, so I would really prefer a whole hollowed out jalapeno rather than two small slivers of jalapeno held together by bread and giant clumps of cheese. read more

I'm so glad this location was bought out and changed proprietors to this delicious little pizza joint that serves so much more than pizza. It had new furniture and a brand new setup where the kitchen is in plain view. I ordered the house salad with ranch dressing, 10 hot wings, and a bacon cheeseburger with no bun wrapped in lettuce. My wife had the cheese calzone. I was able to select items to have them take off or omit from my salad which is always good. The salad was a mixture of iceberg and fresh greens, cucumbers, fresh shredded cheese and croutons. Everything on the salad was fresh and tasted wonderful. The wings (hot) came out hot from the oven covered in hot sauce. They were crispy and meaty done perfectly. The burger came out wrapped in 2 huge pieces of lettuce. The bacon was crisp and fatty just the way bacon should be. It tasted incredible. My wife said her calzone was very generous on the cheese and the crust was crisp and buttery. She loved it. I forgot to mention that the burger came with fries but I didn't eat them because I'm on a reduced carb diet, high fat (Keto). But I did try one and it was crispy and flavorful and thick, cooked perfectly. I will be back, it might be my favorite pizza place in Great Bridge. I have ordered pizza from Sal's probably a half dozen times. Overall, it's pretty good NY style pizza. Sometimes it's better than others. Sometimes the wait time is too long. The main problem I have had with Sal's is their customer service. It's usually bad. There was one instance where I called in an order for carry out and the girl who took the call had no idea what the words "carry out" or "take out" meant and then when I finally got her to understand that I wanted to come pick the food up, she had to put me on hold while she checked whether or not I was allowed to do that. When I got there, she couldn't figure out how to run my credit card. Sort of a surreal experience. Often they are rude. read more

Called in a takeout order and the employee was friendly and didn't get upset when I asked questions about menu items. My order was ready exactly when they said it would be and it was hot! The staff was polite and made sure I had everything I would need to enjoy my meal. I got chicken wings, a calzone, and bacon cheddar fries. The fries were covered in the perfect amount of cheese and had plenty of bacon on them. The wings were crispy and had nice flavor from the hot sauce. The calzone came with ricotta and mozzarella cheese and sauce on the side. I ordered the deluxe and was very happy with the amount of filling and flavor! Delivery was very fast! Food was decent. Pizza was not the style I prefer but was ok.

Pizza is about three simple things: crust, cheese, and sauce. Sal's nails the trinity with a crust that is crispy with a slight chewy center, perfect to fold in half like "real" pizza consumed in New York. The sauce is nice and sweet and perfectly seasoned. The cheese tastes fresh and is nice and moist. Often times cheese is dry and blah, but not here. Most places claim "New York Style" pizza and miss the mark on one of the three base ingredients but Sal's nails all three. I've ordered from them twice and both times have been real pleased. Their large pizza is a true large 18 inch pie. I would highly recommend Sal's for your pizza needs. read more

WAITED TOO LONG FOR PIZZA... Before tonight I wouldn't have said anything bad about this place. My husband ordered online, which will never happen again! Usually the wait is 45 minutes. We waited 1 hour and 34 minutes tonight for pizza that was cold and covered in so much flour!! I don't know what went on tonight or who was in the kitchen but it only takes one time to screw with my families meal. When you have children under the ages of 8, you get a whiney ear full! When I called to ask where my pizza was the girl was so unresponsive and sounded like she could care less that we hadn't received our pizza yet....almost like this was normal for her to hear a complaint. She stated that the driver should be there any minute, 10 minutes later I called back and again, she dated they should be there any minute. SMH....what a disaster!! I asked her to just cancel the order and she said we had to do that through grub hub online....so unacceptable!! Good New York style pizza! They are very large so take it easy when ordering. I made the mistake of getting two large pizza's for 4 people, ended up only eating one before everyone was full. Gotten food here a few times. The pizza is good, but the other menu items taste like frozen food that's been reheated. Last night my wife ordered several items to include a pizza. My daughter wanted some stuffed shells and they were the worst thing I've ever gotten for take out. These were frozen/freezer burned and reheated. The sauce and cheese didn't cover half of the shells. The parts that didn't get covered were hard and INEDIBLE after they came out of the oven. I will not order from this place again. The kind man who delivered the food came back to my door and let me know I gave him to much money. Now he could have kept it and not said anything. But he didn't and I very much appericated it. Probably the best meatball sub I have ever eaten! It was toasty but soaked in marinara. I also had the buffalo wings. They were big with lots of meat and the mild was nice and warm! This is our go to pizza place. We have ordered from them almost weekly for 6 months, and I've always been happy. They people are nice and the food is delicious. Sometimes the delivery time can be long, but it's worth the wait. The pizza crust is the perfect thickness with a little bend still. Not too greasy. The Works Stromboli was great the first time with a crispy top crust but the second time was soggy all the way through and there was brown liquid sitting on the pan. We haven't had much luck with delivery. Pizzas first time were just warm. Second delivery order the toppings on one pizza had slid to one side and over the crust. Having lived in the area for a few years, the old pizza joints were getting stale. I was very glad when Sal's opened up and I was even happier that I was not disappointed. I have been there 3 times and each time was excellent. The pizza is typical New York style with a thin crispy crust and a nice tasting sauce. Highly recommend this place! This is the first and last time I will order from this place. I'm not sure why we need to wait 60 minutes to have the food delivered, and that's before they know what I want. So now, I have waited my automatic 60 minutes and it's still not here, I called the store. The young lady was rude from the beginning. She called her driver who told her he was three minutes away. Great! However, I told her that if the food is cold, then I will not accept it from the driver or bring food back to them tomorrow for a full refund. Well, she told me, "she was definitely not going to do this - once her driver is en route there are no refunds." I told her I most certainly will get a refund. She told me. "no I wouldn't, but she will tell her owner" and hung up the phone. When the driver arrived the food was hot, given us hope. Unfortunately, the meals were hit and miss! This was our 2nd time at this restaurant. First time last year, had no issues - service and food was excellent. This time - NOT SO MUCH! We waited over an our for our food..actually the whole restaurant did. After about 45 minutes, we asked the waitress how long before our food would come out and she said "soon" - WHAT - we asked her what "soon" meant and she just shrugged her shoulders. So we went up to the counter and asked the manager how long before the food comes out and he said, 15 minutes. When we questioned the young waitress about why were were getting the pepperoni instead of the chicken/bacon/ranch, she said they didn't make the other pizza and that was just a substitute - WHAT (she left the pepperoni pizza on the table). So we told her it would have been nice if she could have come back and told us that and she could have ordered something else. So my dad went and spoke with the manager and he said they DO make that pizza, they just don't sell it by the slice, but that he would make her a slice since that was what she ordered. About 10 minutes later, the slice came out. So by this time, the slice of pepperoni pizza had been sitting at our table for a good 12-15 minutes. The waitress comes back to the table and asks us for the slice of pizza back and then proceeds to HAND IT TO THE TABLE DIAGONAL TO OURS!!!!! So when she left, we were dumbfounded. We told the Father of the little boy she handed the pizza to that the pizza came from our table, not the back - not that we did anything to it, we didn't even touch it, just the plate..but it's the principle of it! YUCK! How do you know someone else wouldn't have touched it, etc. She didn't even ask us if we took a bite out of it or anything, just came over and took the place of pizza and handed it to the little boy! The parents were NOT Happy and said so! The manager told us that she has only been a waitress for a week, but that is NO EXCUSE!
