First of all the food was very good. Other things that didn't go so well with rudeness too from a waitress. They need classes on customer service and appreciation. Sister and I stopped off for late lunch today. We had already grabbed our sweet teas on the way so we did not order drinks nor need drink refills etc. Napkins were not readily available at the table-- and now I know why-- as they want you to hunt the waitress to get napkins...so that happened several times-preplanned scheme. As when they drop you maybe 2 napkins each at the table and 'alot' of the food can be messy, but again it was good...and she occasionally pick up your dirty plates...hmmm-well upon us leaving, I was frankly told by the waitress as we cashed out that I need to leave a tip and here were the choices??? Wow-and first of all, she didn't provide drinks/refills, they hoarded the napkins so you had to ask for necessary napkins...'then' demanded a tip. I loved the food so next trip there, I will come in with a roll of paper towels and my drink and No tip whatsoever and dare a smart remark from a mouth...sorry, but demanding I give you a tip is sloppy and is not forgotten. read more

Food selection is very limited Even worse the food is just not worth eating, I wouldn't even feed it to my dogs. Rice is mushy and bland, lo mein was bland, their signature Great Wall wings were dry. For the price point, this is my goto buffet. Service is on point, always friendly. They're always attentive, my plates and always pulled and my beverage is always topped off. Flavoring is good for me and the chickens been pretty tender. Most proteins are chicken and seafood. I don't think I've seen pork. For how old this place has been around it's clean. Probably one of the worst buffets I've ever been to, if not the worst. The beef and broccoli was terrible--the broccoli and carrots were so overcooked they turned to mush. When I asked if it could be changed, the staff said yes but never followed through. The food overall was cold and unlabeled, which made it confusing to know what anything was. The soup station was dirty, with soup splashed everywhere, and it didn't look like anyone was maintaining it. Their chili wings are quite good when fresh, but the last two times, they were not remotely fresh. The boiled eggs on the salad bar are almost always grey. That's not a good sign. Have patronized GW take out for at least 15 years and years and until recently would have given them 4-5 stars. Our last couple orders of shrimp and veggies were awful. Sauce was thin, lot less shrimp, veggies limp. We thought this was just a one off, so ordered the SV again, after speaking to the staff about our previous poor experience. Same problem. Yesterday, ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young, and again was thoroughly dissatisfied. Shrimps not cooked through, instead of three thin patties, had one very thick one, like small cake, fried rice peas hard as if still frozen, some rice grains not cooked through. Overall, customer service poor. Person taking order over phone, couldn't find item on his menu, then just said, we don't have it. I had to tell him to get some help. Don't know if owners have changed, but minimally, a new chef and cook staff is needed. But too late for us. We're on the hunt for a new Chinese restaurant. We're done with Greet Wall. read more

My mother went there. I dropped her off at the restaurant. All she did was complain. My mother texted me from the restaurant how much does it cost to eat here?? I told her not to worry about the cost. However she really wanted to know how much because she said this Chinese buffet restaurant was the worst place she ever been to. First she walked in, she spoke broken English she is a senior so she wanted to ask for the senior price. The host who is possibly the owner who was very mean and cold to my mother. No hello or how is everything while she is dining. The servers were nice according to my mother but hostess. The food quality is good tastes but they only use cheap ingredients and very small amount of seafood. It was dirt cheap ingredients. My mom is very picky too when she comes to food. Great place to bring the kids. Just enough selection to not be overwhelmed, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The service is very attentive and an empty plate is never on your table long. We were in the area for a conference and went for dinner. This is a lovely buffet! We understand the management has recently changed. The food was amazing and a good value for our money. Everything we tried was delicious! We loved the cozy atmosphere! The wait staff were friendly when we entered and were helpful when explaining the process. They were very attentive to remove the used plates when we went to revisit the buffet for a different course. The manager stopped by our table to be sure everything was to our satisfaction and to see if we needed anything else. This buffet is in a very fancy part of the DFW metroplex. The building is cool-looking and the interior is beautiful. The food, however, meh. It is a rapid turnover, at least, since it appears to be a very popular lunch spot. You see people in suits and people wearing safety vests here. All walks of life. The peel and eat shrimp were pretty good, and the fried fish (if you get it fresh) was outstanding. My dumplings were disappointing- lukewarm and dry. I also tried some lo mein, which was a little too salty but still good. Oh, and the vegetable spring rolls, though - they were legit. They were huge and hot - ready to be dunked into some Sriracha. I didn't get anything else - most of the chicken and beef entrees looked too saucy, and not too appealing. @GREAT WALL SUPER BUFFET IN FRISCO TEXAS Me and my 9 yr old daughter visit often to this establishment. Its kinda our thing to do monthly. However, every time I come they question my daughters age every since she was 7 years old. Why you ask, because my daughter is tall. I am 5'10 and her father is 6'8; therefore, being tall is inevitable. This last time we there on (2/21/2023) The manager actually charged us (2) adult meals without question. I absolutely did not pay for that. I demanded the receipt be changed to reflect (1) adult and (1) child. The manager and the staff said they are not there to judge the age of my child. (Their words) Also, the manager had the audacity to tell me to bring in my child's birth certificate next time. Needless to say I was livid. I WILL NEVER EAT AT THAT ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN!!!!!! My wife, our friends and I have been going to this buffet since it opened. We even went there during the pandemic when it was very slow to help support it. My wife had bariatric surgery and only can eat a small amount of food and when we went there they normally charged her for a kids play plate. We drove all the way there from Gunter Texas Saturday night to have dinner. The girl at the front counter said that my wife had to go around with the styrofoam "to go box" and put whatever food she wanted in it and then bring it to the register and they would weigh it and charge her appropriately and then she could eat out of it. We did not want this, we wanted to sit at a table like we always have and eat and have the ability to go back to the buffet if we wanted to. The girl said that this was the new rule for people who had bariatric surgery. We told her that we would go somewhere else. She didn't seem to care so we left and went to a different Chinese buffet down the road. I am shocked that the rules have been changed to where you have to eat out of a styrofoam to go box just because you don't eat very much food. We will not be back. read more
