Amazing food, upscale, vibe, and quality service. Great white is a classic LA brunch spot, and the Venice Beach location is gorgeous. I always try to sit out on the patio, and this most recent visit was the perfect sunny day to do so. We had to wait about 30 minutes for Saturday brunch, which is to be expected, so while waiting, we walked along Venice Beach. When we got seated, the waitress immediately served us water and took our drink orders. The strawberry Matcha is better than any that I've ever had in a coffee shop. It was perfectly balanced, and the strawberry purée tasted Fresh! For our meals, I got a breakfast burrito, while everyone else got some version of a pleated breakfast. Everything was delicious. The eggs in the breakfast burrito were perfectly cooked, and the chipotle sauce that came with it was absolutely the cherry on top of an already perfect cake. This was a new location that I haven't visited before and it was quite nice. Way bigger than the larchmont location and busier as well. They don't take reservations for brunch so it's first come first served base. We stopped in for brunch on a Sunday and for our party of 4, it was a 45 min wait. It was fine, popped over for a drink at hotel Erwin. They do take your number and page you to let you know when your table is ready and a 10 minutes grace time for arrive. Hostess were all very friendly which is a plus. Restaurant itself is both indoor and outdoor. An open air concept. The inside, well decorated with a nice modern feel. Outside, has your picnic table communal feel which is also nice with covered umbrellas. Service was great, friendly staff and great food. We started off with some cocktails, nice as well. The mushroom fries were delicious as well as the ceviche. Everything was fresh and prepared nicely. Entrees, the smoked salmon pizza, nice big chunks of salmon and the crust was perfect. Bit too thick. The chicken kabobs with the shredded veggies salad and pita. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the dipping sauce was a perfect combo. The fish tacos, which was served in lettuce was more of a lettuce wrap. It was good. And the poke bowl with black rice. That was good too but it was basically the ceviche with black rice. Strawberry matcha iced latte ($10): Very well-balanced - not too sweet, and the strawberry is subtle once mixed in. Expensive for a tea beverage, but the ingredients tasted high quality. The menu is relatively diverse, with a nice mix including healthy options, brunch staples, sandwiches, bowls, pizzas and refreshing beverages - plenty to choose from. ‍ Service A bit slow at the start--we sat for over 20 minutes with no check-in. We didn't mind too much since we were chatting, but we had to flag someone down to order. I appreciated that they checked if we had any food allergies before putting the orders in. I would've added avocado to my burrito but it was an extra $4 in this economy unfortunately. The breakfast burrito did live up to the hype though. It came with tater tots, scrambled eggs, Oaxaca cheese, scallions, chives, and bacon. The distribution of all of the ingredients were great so I was able to taste everything in one bite. I also tried a bite of the avocado toast and I can verify that the avocado was perfectly ripe so it would definitely be worth adding to the burrito if you're feeling spendy. They left the avocado in chunks so it also added a good texture to the toast. We were told that it would be a 30-minute wait on a Saturday at noon and it was pretty accurate. We received a text that our table was ready a few minutes earlier than expected and were immediately seated. The waitresses were nice and I loved the vibes of this place. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and also a very small lot but street parking would probably be better, although it was still difficult to find. read more

I had a lovely lunch at Great White in Venice Beach. I ordered the steak frites and a glass of Pinot--both were spot on. The steak was cooked perfectly and paired beautifully with the wine. While we did feel a bit forgotten in the section we were seated in, the overall experience was great. The space has an easy, coastal charm, and the menu is solid. The flavors that came together was just WOW!! 9/10 chicken sandwich. Delicious! The chicken was a great size and the spicy sauce was perfect -- the spice builds in your mouth. I would say to eat this closer to some shaded area because as the spice was kicking, it got warm. The fries were GREAT. it reminds me of a better version of McDonalds fries. I haven't had some of the McDs fries since the boycott and these satisfied that craving. I did ask for honey to go with my fries and I got a small dish of watered down honey... 6/10 espresso martini. Mommy and Daddy have been going to this place since dinosaurs roamed the earth, and they finally dragged me along. They've got a fancy changing table--yay!--but honestly, two major design flaws: it's got this sneaky tilt so your baby slowly slides down like they're on a budget waterslide. I was really excited to try this place with my friends, but can honestly say I was a little bit underwhelmed. The prices for the entrées are relatively steep, and didn't appear to be the same prices that were on the Yelp menu photos. I loved that they had outdoor seating and were dog friendly so we could bring our dog with us. However despite them having so many heat lamps none of them were close to our table so I was pretty cold the whole time. I decided to try the fried chicken sandwich as I was really craving one and honestly wasn't the biggest fan. The coleslaw liquid was leaking all over the plate and made the sandwich super soggy. The chicken itself was not very flavorful and was not crispy at all, it was also not a huge piece of chicken the sandwich was mainly coleslaw. For a $22 sandwich I was really expecting it to be pretty exceptional and felt that it didn't match my expectations. The fries were very basic and simple and all right, I think I just didn't really love their food all that much. However, my friends got their pizzas and liked them a lot more than I did. Those were much better tasting, but we all agreed that the prices for the restaurant were a bit excessive for what it was. The servers were nice and it's a cute place. read more

Really enjoyed my meal here. The menu is on the smaller side, but I actually like that because it feels like they can focus on doing a few things really well instead of trying to do everything. The Margherita pizza was simple but delicious, and the honey was such a nice touch. We also ordered the Swim Club sandwich, which was fresh and flavorful, and the crispy Brussels sprouts were so good with the sauce and sesame. Oh man I really wanted to like this place but it turns out I ended up getting stomach pain and now my day off has gone down the drain since my stomachache lasted almost the entire day. Not sure which plate caused the stomach pain since we shared both our plates but I want to say maybe it was the hot cakes since we only finished half the portion. The burrito was actually really tasteful so i don't believe that was the root cause. I want to say this was probably just one of those off days. Servers and ambiance was quite good. Contemplating on doing this review only because it has SO MANY great reviews and I'm in disbelief on how this happened to me. I only got pictures before I started eating my banana bread and I was so upset at the situation I didn't get pictures of the problem. THERE WAS GLASS IN MY BANANA BREAD. The host told me it was plastic but he's not the one that bit into it. I would've just appreciated the apology and not try to cover it up because honestly this is a huge problem. I love the water and since it is close to the beach, it has become one of my favorite restaurants to visit before or after getting in the water.
