Was wondering if Great White was another overly hyped social media spot but I was so pleasantly surprised! My friend and I arrived at the Venice location around 10AM and it was quite crowded, with a long line. We did wait a bit but were prepared to do so. It was a little chilly out so we would have preferred to be seated further inside, but still appreciated the cute interior. My friend and I shared the Ricotta Hotcakes and the Salmon Mezze, both of which were delicious! I liked that the salmon mezze was very refreshing and not too heavy, especially with the colorful pickles that I loved. It came with some other veggies and a little cream that went well with the bread and salmon. It was also pretty filling as I ate it with half of the pancakes. And I love that it came with an egg! The pancakes were also great, they were fluffy but also dense and with a lemony sweet taste. I don't know if I could eat the whole pancake as my breakfast, as the taste can become boring-but half of the dish was perfect for me. There were also bananas and berries on top. I do want to come back, maybe try a different location for the banana bread, lunch items, and/or pizza. I would say keep in mind the lines and wait times, as well as parking around the area. We parked a few blocks down in a residential area but it can be tricky. The prices were a little expensive especially for a brunch, but I did think the food was quite good and the area around has some fun stuff going on as well. read more

The food! The service! It's an easy walk for us to get to Great White so it's a pleasure and a privilege. They are so kind when it comes to us asking for no added salt - important as hubs has CHF. Came here for brunch on Saturday - this place is located on a bustling street in Venice Beach. We ordered a falafel wrap, vegetable bowl, and our friend got a shrimp pasta. Here are my ratings: - Falafel wrap: Solid, falafel is really tasty (5/5) - Vegetable bowl: this was good, fresh and light- wish the quantity was a little bigger (5/5) - Oyster Mushrooms: I think this is supposed to be a vegan version of a calamari; this was a little underwhelming - oily and not very flavorful (3/5) - would skip this Other things to note, Great White is one of the few spots that does not use seed oils. The atmosphere, the airy interior, the fresh light food, what more could you want in Venice Beach? This location is located directly in front the infamous Venice beach sign that lights up night and makes the area magical and a few steps away from the sand. Great White is such a fresh breath of air, literally with its open patio and open concept. All of the menu options looked delicious and I of course had to get a drink with the great white shark logo on the glass! I was hoping they sold them since I am a shark lover but alas just t shirts and stuff online. Service was great and a was a friendly guy with long blonde hair. This place was jawsome and I highly recommend to any Venice visitors. It's first come first serve no reservations. My first time at a Great White location was in December here and the experience did not disappoint. The restaurant is in a fairly busier part of Venice so would recommend coming earlier on a weekend. Me and my friend waited about 30-40 mins on a Sunday afternoon and walked around Abbot-Kinney (got coffee, stopped by a vintage store) in the meantime. The service was good, food was tasty and the ambience/atmosphere was fun, elevated but minimal and had an earthy homey vibe which I really liked. I've always wanted to try this place because it's always packed and the food on the website looked so good. My server didn't smile once and there was no personal experience. I split the "best breakfast burrito in LA" and ceviche with my boyfriend. Nothing special. My daughter had the avocado toast. Basically avocado on a giant crouton it was painful to eat with no flavor. Worst Bloody Mary I've ever had! It was undrinkable. The espresso martini was literally 2 sips. Will never come here again. The set up is calming, it gives relaxing vibes. The host was super friendly, she sat us outside with our dogs. I shared a pepperoni pizza with my fiancé, he was disappointed in the size of it. How have I missed this spot?! We got a few meals from here for our volunteer fire relief group, and each one was truly delicious. Particularly the lentil dish with fish or chicken and coconut curry was balanced perfectly and felt healthy. This restaurant is ran by an incompetent manager unfortunately. I visited this place and when my family was done we went to pay and they refused to accept cash? Only card.... I questioned it because no where on the menu or anywhere signed showing it's a cashless business. This "manager" decided to get rude and rant about how if I'm just gonna argue about it then she will just go get change. So I asked politely if she could do that. She came back and demanded that I not "stiff" them and actually pay a tip. They took my order, never showed up again and then demanded after insulting me in front of my family for a tip??? Disgusting. I'd avoid this establishment at all costs. Venice's Great White location is one of my favorite places to brunch in LA! The restaurant itself is beautiful and well-positioned by the beach, making for an amazing ambiance. I went in for brunch with my family on a Monday morning, and there was no wait. We had a great experience with the staff- our server was super attentive and helpful, and our food came out quickly and tasted amazing! We had the avocado dip to share, and ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and Great White brekkie as our entrees. Avocado Dip: 5/5 - The dip was SO fresh and flavorful, and paired well with the taro chips. We ended up putting the dip on everything- it was so good. Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries: 4.5/5 - This wasn't my entree, but everyone who ordered it was obsessed. After having a bite, I agreed! The cabbage slaw was delicious, and the fries paired really well with the chipotle dip. Great White Brekkie: 4.5/5 - Amazing per usual. My fave well-rounded breakfast! That has a big sign with the Logo of great white. Parking lot is expensive, and attendant is beyond rude. Understandably I can park somewhere else and walk but since the great white logo is referenced in that parking lot, my experience there is a part of my general experience of eating at great white, as there is no why I could have predicted the awful experience I will have there, and that experience could not have been worse. read more

A great dinner time option in the heart of venice. I've never been let down during a trip to great white for 3 reasons: the food, the drinks, and the service. I usually like to introduce friends to this place because they have something for everyone. Whenever I bring someone new here I always just have the server recommend something based on the individuals taste. Each server i've had has been able to go in depth about the mene; you can tell they take pride in making sure their staff has a breadth of knowledge about the establishment. Proud to say that I have tried every dish on the menu and my hands down favorite is the truffle fungi pizza. Their pizza portions are incredible for the price, especially in LA. But most importantly you taste each ingredient individually but can easily appreciate how they all compliment each other. My favorite drink and must try is the oaxacan white negroni! Great White is one of my go-to brunch/lunch spots on the Westside! Although it is always a bit of a wait (they don't take reservations before dinnertime), I always stop by Menotti's Coffee Stop just down the street and walk around the beach so it isn't too bad of a wait. I've tried most of their brunch menu over the years, and would definitely recommend their blue smoothie bowl, breakfast sandwich, and breakfast burrito. Today I ordered the diavola pizza (spicy salami, chili oil, and honey--to die for) and the crispy chicken sandwich (incredible balance of flavors, especially the pickled jalapenos) to share, and it was a great amount of food for 2 people. The food comes out very fast and the service is always super helpful. The drinks are phenomenal but a little pricey. I recommend the GW spritz and the agua vida (the agua vida is STRONG). I would definitely suggest paying with the app InKind, as they always have some kind of special going on and you can get money off your bill. Overall, it's a very aesthetically pleasing spot with great food that I love returning to again and again. read more

I enjoyed great white last week and it was great. I made a same day reservation and was seated right away. The restaurant is half indoor/half outdoor with the floor to ceiling doors open. It was beautiful inside! I ordered the DIAVOLA with salami picante, local honey, mozzarella, smoked chili oil. While it was good, I probably wouldn't get it again. The salami was a bit too strong for my taste, but I enjoyed the honey on top. My favorite item was the MARKET CHOP SALAD. The spiced pecans and goat cheese were immaculate paired with the champagne vinaigrette. I would go back for this salad in an instant. read more

I love everything here but the price and the parking. The food is pretty expensive and Parking is almost impossible to find. That said they are located off of a parking lot and there is a lot of street parking opportunities as long as you look for it for a while. - They are located right across from the iconic Venice sign and just a block away from the boardwalk. A really cute place with modern upscale decor. Lots of energy here and great service. They also had a patio for outside seating. We were indoors. The seating was a bit tight so it took a bit of strategic organizing to make sure all our plates fit onto the tiny table (and we only had 3 dishes between the two of us!). Other than that, the food was all pretty satisfying. The brussel sprouts were crispy. The shrimp pasta was light and saucy. The Davila pizza was rich and had just the right amount of saltiness. Really liked the frappato chilled red wine, so refreshing! The pavlova dessert was mixture of flavors and textures...crisp exterior and soft interior with a good balance of strawberries. This was my first time in the Venice area and my cousin recommended we go to Great White! ALL of the staff members we had any interaction with were so friendly, and the food was delicious! I had a breakfast burrito and matcha, and my cousin had a falafel wrap. Both really hit the spot and were the perfect portion size! Overrated restaurant Yelpers. My visit was left less than right at check in. The hostess was terrible. Short tempered, rude, anxious and entitled. She belittled everyone checking in and waiting for a table, and quite snarly remarks at folks when asked a question. TERRIBLE SERVICE, and not a single manager to complain to.. smh The food was less than. Basic American fare. Nothing to rave about. So many other epic restaurants in the area. I dare not return. I had some time to kill before a facility tour around the way, so I noticed this place that had a decent sized patio area. This was my first visit ever to any Great White! A co-worker had raved about this place, but it's the one over on Melrose, so I was eager to see what this one had to offer. What made me shake my head is that it's after 2pm, yet it's LA so nobody apparently works (or this is the WFH type who want to eat out in the middle of the day) so there were definitely a decent amount of people there. I went to the host stand and she took my order of an oat-milk cocoa, where I paid with her, but needed to go inside at the counter to pick this up. As I waited, I looked around the inside and what I remember is that it was fairly loud, due to the activity with the kitchen and the people who preferred eating indoors. When the girl called out my order, she said almond milk but since she said my name, I knew it was incorrect. This was a quick change that I didn't mind waiting for. This was a really small drink, but it was pretty good. A tip from someone later was to request a larger cup (which is at no additional charge from what I understand). I'll have to try this on a future visit, but I always want to give their food a try as well. This was good enough for me to warrant a future visit to any Great White! read more

The perfect spot in Venice Beach for dining and enjoying a meal that's both healthy and filling! I love the outdoor patio that feels like it flows out from the open air dining space inside with the open doors and windows everywhere. It's the perfect way to enjoy an afternoon or evening by the water here in Venice! Service was very friendly - despite not having a reservation they were able to seat us relatively quickly around 5pm on a Saturday. I also didn't have to wait long at all for the different items I ordered. Starting with the matcha latte, it seemed small and a little bit pricey, but was very high quality and (of course!) aesthetically pleasing, so I'm not complaining too much! For a share plate item, I got the Avocado Dip and absolutely LOVED it. Big and VERY crunchy taro chips to enjoy with one of the best dips I've ever had - SO fresh with the chunky bits of avocado mashed up and mixed with cilantro, red onion, and well seasoned with some pepper. I highly recommend this for a share plate - one of my favorite Avocado Dips anywhere!! For the mains: I personally enjoyed my shrimp pasta greatly - fresh and light, but with a good amount of creaminess to the sauce, and a good portion that filled me up but didn't STUFF me, if you know what I mean! I left feeling very satisfied after eating it! My partner, on the other hand, was a bit less impressed with his fish tacos. Coming in lettuce wrapping and heavily garnished, a got to admit, they were a bit gimmicky. The fish tacos were still very fresh and a great bite, although I wouldn't necessarily recommend getting that one. Overall, however, the food here is fresh, filling, and full of flavor! I absolutely loved the Avocado Dip and the Shrimp Pasta, in addition to the ambiance and vibes. It was a cloudy yet hot day and one of my girlfriends and I wanted to grab brunch in LA we found this spot off of venice and heard lots of great things about it. When we got there we were told a 40 minute wait, we ended up walking around for a bit and just like that our table was ready. We got sat and ordered our drinks. I got a strawberry matcha and it was made with fresh strawberry puree and was delicious. We chose to share a few items and all were a hit with us. The truffle pizza is amazing, theres a lemon ricotta on the pizza which made it so balance and not so overpowering with the truffle. The chicken pesto was devoured by us. The hot cake are just normal pancakes but their berry sauce was amazing. I can taste how high quality their products are and it made me feel so good. Great White is just the vibey place to be, to people watch, and also be seen. It's feels like such a Venice establishment and it's been on my list for a while. After a workout in the morning, came to grab a bite with a friend. Wait can be a bit long and took us 30 mins for 2 of us. The menu is pretty standard with brunch dishes but some unique Aussie influenced dishes. I opted for a non-Aussie Harvest Bowl which had shaved celery, tahini, avo, lettuce, and charred cauliflower. At the server's suggestion, I added falafel to it. All of it was scrumptious. Each had their own texture and it had a lemony flavor but also an earthy umami flavor from the tahini. I'd recommend it even though it totaled $32 with $8 just for 4 falafel balls. Yes it's pricey but it was fresh and honestly such a great dish. Service was great. He was attentive and I'd recommend a visit to Great White here or I guess the same in Larchmont. read more
