Combination deal: chicken souvlaki, pita triangles, fries, and salad ... a canned soft drink was part of the deal. The cardboard box: meh

This worked out very well. I needed lunch and had just walked out of Penn Station, which is a challenging thing to do in New York and leave by your intended exit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Greek from Greece is but a block away, on 7th Avenue. It's not tucked into some alley, or even a mezzanine, and its storefront faces the street[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's one of the first Greek places I've walked into that doesn't incorporate the blue and white paint scheme representing the colors of the Greek flag. It's more modern and neutral[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not only that, their air conditioning worked well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Greek from Greece has a long counter from which you order and there is a menu on the wall beyond. The ingredients to make the food are right there. The "problem" is that your eyes may be bigger than your stomach. There are a lot of good staples on display. The service was relaxed and good natured. They had a lunch combo I liked that included a soft drink. I know that stomachs function like garbage disposals, but they layered the food into a granolafied Northampton MA or Berkeley CA-like cardboard box so I couldn't really eat the various "courses" in the order I might have liked. Again, food goes down the hatch and is processed, so I will say that it was a tasty and satisfying combination lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since the store is narrow, the tables opposite the counter and queueing area are only placed along the wall. However, in moving toward the back, you'll find an eating area that's both more spacious and cozy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Eating here is something I'd repeat. Greek from Greece offers the type of Greek food, and a broad enough variety of it, that will suit most customers.

Delicious, perfect large meal after walking around Manhattan all day. Filling, we shared the fries between three of us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff, and cozy location[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped here for a quick bite. The Spanish pie was filling and delicious. The counter service was pleasant and the place has a clean look to it. Great for something fast and healthy.

Surprise! The name reflects the ethos of the food. A Greek who sources olive oil, kalamata, feta all from Greece. This is one of the best value bowls in town. My new favorite. I also love Eons Summer Salt & Blue Park kitchen. This is just at another level because the vegetables choice is staggering even for a semi veg like me. Eggplant zucchini poblanos oh my. The poblanos are genius & add mild heat. Ate: Salmon bowl $17 This was an incredible array of food with tzatziki. The owner told me about his ingredients and could believe I live nearby. He makes this busy section of Manhattan feel like a neighborhood.

I love the orange cake here, my absolute favorite. The baklava and saragli are pretty good too. Not crazy about the galktoboureko, though no one can make this like my Yia Yia did. I've had their bowls and salads a couple of times and they were very good.

Stopped here for a late lunch. The ambience is nice and inviting. The staff is friendly especially Ayesha, she was super friendly and helpful. For food I tried a range of things . Had the chicken yeero and the salmon cous cous salad. I also tried a range of pies. Everything was good. I can't for get the bougatsa oh my it was amazing! I also had the Freddo coffee I must say I was pleasantly surprised as it was one of the best coffee drinks I've tried. Definitely add this place to your list.

May be my new go-to salad spot, did not disappoint! Fresh ingredients, perfect protein and veggie portion, fair pricing, and no unnecessary salts or sugars added in the dressing. Conveniently located in midtown and available for delivery which was quick (25-30 min). Only drawback is they're closed on the weekends.

This is not an authentic greek restaurant. It's more middle eastern. I was craving gyro over Greek salad with taziki sauce. Nope can't get it. Not even a gyro wrap. The food is very fresh and delicious however if ur craving greek gyros it is not for u Every time in Astoria (amazing greek food) I get the avillemon soup (lemon) so I thought to order it here. No lemon just chicken. Hardly any tast

Chocolate pastry of some type. Delicious.

I was pleasantly…read moresurprised to find out they had a location in New York City, so I obviously had to give it a try. There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

The menu inside breaks down all of the sandwhiches, you roll up to the deli counter when they say next, spill out your order (add/remove stuff to your order) and you're done. The most overwhelming thing is deciphering the Italian sandwhich menu. I hit up the Italian Hot. Pretty decent! I added sun dried tomatoes...but it would have been just as good without it. Be PREPARED this Sammie has some chili honey liquid /oil sauce they put on it and it's tasty but it's a lot. The staff are friendly - just focused on getting your order and getting it to you so you can enjoy. The wall is pretty interested they have made their own decor out of door panel fixtures.

I opted for the L'italiana, which features Prosciutto, Pistachio Cream, Stracciatella, Sun-Dried Tomato, Arugula, though I swapped out the prosciutto for bresaola. Oh man, this bread is legit! And as a yuuuge pistachio fan, that cream is delightful, especially coupled with that creamy stracciatella. Super well-composed sandwich, amazing bread, quality ingredients...a hit! Everyone waiting which was about 30 people were all visibly frustrated and angry. I missed my show because I couldn't even have predicted that ordering from a chain would take this long. They had 3 staff, 1 preparing not pickup orders and managing the register, one making orders with a stack of prepared orders whose names they weren't calling?!? Like how can you be this understaffed for a location like this. Getting someone to ask about your order was nearly impossible. Honestly, I feel bad for the staff working there since this is nyc and you deal with crazies, so one guy who waited 15 minutes getting heated I debated just finishing my sandwich at home because I didn't want to witness craziness Ok-actual sandwich was beyond a disappointment. They got it wrong and to get it fixed would have taken another hour that I didn't have. The bread was stale and cold and hard, there was veryy little meat. We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed. We were all full and happy when we weren't finished, so what more could we want for a relatively quick NYC meal? Being under the plaza, the restrooms were outside the shop but very close by so we were able to wash hands and such before journeying out into the wild.
