    Greek chicken piccata pasta
    Bobbie V.

Tried this restaurant for the first time for dinner. Ordered the hummus with tomatoes, cucumbers, and pita bread for an appetizer. The hummus was delicious! My daughter ordered the fire grilled Octopus with a side of fries and a root beer. Love how she's only 8 years old and loves good food. The octopus was amazing and tender! My boyfriend ordered the Greek chicken piccata pasta. I think this was the only dish that didn't meet my expectations. If more lemon was added to the sauce, then it would have been bomb. Then I ordered the beef tenderloin kebabs with pilaf rice and mixed vegetables. I'm one person that does not like pilaf rice, but the rice was perfect! I've never tried any restaurant with good pilaf rice, EVER!!! And lastly, we ordered the Baklava cheesecake and let me just say, GAME CHANGER! All in all, this was a wonderful dinner. Live music, great food, amazing service, and after everything I ordered a gyro platter to-go. For all the food I ordered, surprisingly, it was only $90. Not bad at all!!!

Decent staff but meat & Gyro dry as a desert sand. However plentiful and Greek salad was great.

Amazing service and delicious food…read more My friends and I went to The Local before a movie at the Regal movie theater nearby. We were seated in a comfortable booth, and the overall ambiance was so lovely with high ceilings. We got there in time to enjoy a happy hour dinner menu. I ordered the Pork Ragu over Gnocchi as featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." It was so yummy! And the portion was very generous. Service was also very friendly and helpful. We had a great server. I'll definitely return when I'm back in the area.

Tried out this farm to table spot and walked away with a solid impression overall…read more I went with the In House Smoked Turkey Sandwich from their lunch special at $19.50. Naturally smoked turkey with brie, pesto mayo, and tomato jam on gluten free bread, served with a fresh Caesar salad. Pretty good sandwich. The turkey was flavorful, the bread held up nicely, and the salad was crisp with a good coating of parmesan. Decent value for what you get. My wife ordered the fish tacos, which came with a side salad topped with blue cheese crumbles and red onion. The presentation looked great with nice char on the fish, fresh pico, and shredded cabbage piled high. But the execution fell short. The fish itself was chewy and not very tender. That's a problem when fish tacos are one of your popular dishes. On the bright side, our waitress was nice and attentive. No complaints on the service front. The cozy atmosphere lives up to the farm to table vibe they're going for. The Verdict: The Local delivers a decent lunch with good service and fresh ingredients. My smoked turkey sandwich hit the spot, but those fish tacos need work. Four stars for a solid overall experience, but maybe skip the tacos next time.

We had an amazing experience at Bicyclette Cookshop on a Monday night for dinner with my husband…read moreand my in laws. Everyone in our group was thrilled with the entire evening. The drinks were creative and tasty, and while the wine list is short, it is very well curated. We started with the octopus, the bread and butter, and the mushrooms as appetizers. All three were excellent, but the octopus was the clear standout. I had never seen it served in that particular style before. It was a completely new preparation for me and absolutely delicious. The bread and butter was also finger licking good. For my main course, I ordered the cod gnocchi. I am still thinking about this dish three days later because the flavors and textures were so unusual and memorable. To finish the meal, we shared the chocolate tart and the tiramisu bread pudding. Both were delicious, though they did not feel quite as uniquely extraordinary as every other bite and sip we had throughout the night. One of our party members is gluten and dairy free, and our waitress was incredibly helpful in navigating the menu for her. She was thrilled with the shrimp from the daily specials menu. My only minor critique is that I wish they had a dessert option that would have worked for her dietary restrictions. Overall, this was a fantastic meal with top tier service.

The service was friendly throughout the meal, but everything moved surprisingly slowly, from ordering to receiving the food. We tried the salad, burger, and lamb kebabs. The salad and burger were decent but nothing particularly memorable. The lamb kebabs were unfortunately the biggest disappointment of the meal. They were quite salty and the meat was much tougher than expected, making them difficult to enjoy. Overall, the restaurant makes a good first impression with its ambiance and welcoming service, but the food did not quite match the setting. While the experience wasn't terrible, I'm not sure there was enough to make me eager for a second visit.
