Always a good spot to come to eat. Everything is very fairly priced. Keep in mind if you order a few sliders and fries, your fries ALWAYS come out first. They're always an appetizer for some reason. I've been here quite a few times and have never had the fries come out with the food. My drink came out with a fruit fly in it. They took it back and replaced it quickly, I know things happen. For two people we had two drinks each, 3 sliders each, 2 orders of fries and a side of Mac and cheese and the bill was around $50. I always get the BBQ bacon slider and the Cajun fries. This time we also tried the mystery meat - Al Pastor slider. I am obsessed with this place. The sliders are incredible - truly something for everyone. There are beef, chicken, fish, fake meat, PB&J, and more sliders. They also have different flavored fries, sides, and dessert. The s'mores slider was my favorite of all. It is also super reasonably priced and very friendly staff. It was busy for a Monday night so I imagine you might have to wait on the weekends but there is a big bar and patio for the summer. I like this place for the novelty of all of the different sliders, but after the fourth or fifth time visiting, I have come to the conclusion, personally, that the cheeseburger sliders with pickles are the way to go almost always. The Lansing fried chicken sandwich was good too. Next time I go back I'll probably have just those two items. It's not that the others are not good, it's just that I think they do a great job with those two. It stands out. Kudos to the bartender by the way! Green Dot Stables is one of my favorite spots in Corktown. Great sliders, fries and salads and fun mystery cocktail and mystery meat slider available to keep things fresh. Basically we usually order 3 different sliders per person and a knife and sample all of them. (There are so many choices!). We also get one order of fries and a salad to share for every two people at our table. The cocktails are fun and inexpensive and they have great craft beer on tap. read more

Came by here for dinner when my friends and I were in Detroit this past summer. We loved the concept of trying out numerous types of sliders for more or less the same price, as well as having a bunch of very cheap drinks to choose from also. I got one of their Impossible sliders as well as one of their veg banh mi sliders. I also got a Moscow mule. I went in without that big of an appetite, but my friends were hungrier and they got 3 sliders each and multiple drinks. My sliders were alright, nothing amazing, but not terrible either. 5.5 years later, so it's time to update this review to a 5-star one! Since 2015, I've been to Green Dot a few times, probably about 2 or 3 total, and then I also went today with a friend. I'm only doing patio/outdoor dining, and you can choose to sit OUTSIDE outside - at their picnic tables - or in their heated outdoor patio area, which is where Susan M. and I sat. They have picnic tables there too or a few individual tables. The sliders were just as good as they always are. I got the fried chicken one (my favorite; they soak the bottom of the bun in maple syrup, it's messy but DELICIOUS), the Cuban, and the BBQ Bacon, but minus the mashed sweet potato. I also got the truffle shoestring fries, also amazing, and we both got their Caramel Apple boozy drink, which at $3 is a bargain. It's worth noting that all of GDS's drinks are $3 ... they're not large but that's still a ridiculously good price. The mystery dessert was like a "dirt cup" and I got one of those too - basically pudding topped with OREO crumbles (and OREO crumbles on the bottom too) with some gummy worms on top. Tasty. Service was great and prompt too. You literally can spend $10-$15 here and get 3-4 sliders + fries + an alcoholic drink, so I would go as far as to say that it's one of the best deals in the city. I noticed they have a lot more vegetarian/vegan-friendly sliders now too - there was a tofu banh mi slider that sounded tempting, though I usually dislike tofu. Has a lot of potential and rave reviews/experiences from many in the past but it seems like they've been having some "off" days in the last few months based on my friend's feedback. Portions are about 5-6 bites so you need a few menu items to be "full". The mystery meat of the day, tuna, was described to be served rare but it was anything but, the marmalade spread was good but the way it was prepared made it just OK. Green Dot is one of most unique restaurants Detroit has to offer. Once you walk in, the "stable" theme is evident. The food menu offers an array of 20+ sliders along with sides, soups, and desserts. Each week, they feature a "mystery meat" along with other specials. I have tried the majority of the sliders on the menu. my moms favorite restaurant and somehow this is my first time trying it. we started with the summer soda- soda,vodka, cumber, and a basil simple syrup. it was yummy but way too sweet. i had to bite the cucumber garnish to try to offset the sweetness lol. there are 4 vegan slider options; teriyaki "chicken", tofu banh mi, pb&j, and the plant based burger without the velveeta. they are not very customizable either so you couldn't sub an impossible patty on a different slider. i get trying to keep life simple for the cooks but ultimately that's the reason i'm taking away one star.. the sliders were good but the impossible patty was in desperate need of seasoning. the teriyaki "chicken" was my favorite. i loved the little kale salad. it had the perfect amount of salt. the cajun fries were also yummy and well salted. they were crunchy shoestring like ones. the concept here is great because you get a little bit of everything and the prices for the drinks are really good. i didn't love the sliders i got but i definitely liked them and liked there were atleast a few vegan options. read more

We popped in to Detroit for a quick business meeting and just had to visit. It's like a luxury food truck married a biker bar. Seriously! There are no windows inside and you might feel a bit skeptical. However, the food is pretty good. Each tiny slider is really a work of taste. With plenty of meat eaters and vegetarian options and all averaging around $3.50 a slider. They will recommend 3-5 items per person and they're not wrong. Plus where else can you find drinks for $4.50 a piece. We went on a local recommendation and we were pleasantly surprised. We got there early (11am) and had great service. When we were ready to check out our waiter was overwhelmed. We had to wait way too long to check out. I suggest you allow people to check out by themselves. I have never been to Green dot stables before. Didn't even know it existed. A friend took me there and oh I was so pleased that we went. This restaurant serves sliders. Sliders that you would never think of. One of the sliders I ordered was a bologna slider and it was awesome. We also had the Cuban slider, the fish slider, and the mystery slider. Every day they have a mystery slider this time it was pork with pineapple and it was very good. The fish slider, well perfectly acceptable, was nothing to get excited about. The Cuban slider was excellent. This is a bar a little off the beaten track but a very fun place to go. I would highly recommend this. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now and it always hits the spot. With everything on the menu ranging between $2-$4 for each item you can't beat that! The sliders sell by themselves so you're able to try a bunch of different sliders versus getting three of the same sliders that you normally get at other restaurants. I've tried almost all of them but most recently I tried the Swedish chef slider and it was so good! I also ordered the mac and cheese and poutine fries. Agree to disagree, but their sides are where it's at! The Mac and cheese is always so creamy and those fries are bomb! You can't leave here without feeling satisfied. Depressing. One word to describe this experience. Best word for me? Depressing. Me and my family had this place bookmarked since we arrived at Detroit. We looked at the ratings and they were really good. So we thought it had to be good right? Wrong. Lets start with the small things like service and atmosphere. Green Dot is almost like a mini hut. It's walls are mainly brick. Not the biggest deal. We surprisingly on a very busy Wednesday got a table quickly. Service was attentive. I mean, that's the only way I can describe it. That was the small. Time for the big and the main problem with tonight. Of course in a Yelp review, you can't forget about the food. What could be so bad about the food here you may ask? I'll tell you. We got a bunch of sliders. My mom got the Coney Dog, the Buffalo Chicken, and the Philly cheesesteak. First thing she noticed about the food is that none of it was hot, like a proper slider should be. The Coney dog was not good. The chili on top of it was gross, and the item overall was just not good. The buffalo chicken was ok. The chicken was not fried, but what really bothered her was the fact that the dish was just drenching in buffalo sauce. That is kind of gross. The dish was more sauce than actual food. And the Philly cheesesteak was not good at all. I got the Fish Fry, the Hot Brown, and the Lansing Hot Chicken. Where do I start? The fish fry was not good. Once again, drenching in sauce. I wasn't even able to finish it and I was really looking forward to it. Think of the fish fry as a McDonald's filet o fish, but dump 20 barrels of tartar sauce onto it. Voila, you got the fish fry. The Hot Brown was basic and kind of boring. The main difference was that it was good. Drenching in sauce, but tasty. That was a highlight tonight. And finally the chicken slider. It was gross. Not good and drenching in sauce. It was absolutely unappetizing. And to top everything off, we also got the Mac and Cheese and the Cajun fries. The Mac and cheese was kind of spicy, and was meh at best. The Cajun fries were good but they came out so early that I was 97% done with them by the time the sliders came out. Like just bring it out with the sliders. It's not that hard to grasp that thought. To summarize, this experience was disappointing. I don't necessary understand the hype about this place considering the food is sub par at best. I would not recommend this place. If you are a fan of this place, then keep eating at it. I'm not one to judge opinions. I will say one thing and that is that I will never come back. if you wanted to come here, I would recommend reading the bad reviews first because we made the fatal mistake of only reading the good reviews. Once again, I do not recommend and I would say to stay away from this establishment. Disappointing I say. Disappointing. read more

Went here for dinner on Tuesday and the service was awful. My party and I arrived at various times and opted to sit outside to avoid being a disruption to the dining room. I went up to the bar to order and the bartender proceeded to argue with me about how we couldn't place individual orders at the "place order here" area of the bar. She claimed she wanted to avoid backing up the kitchen but the restaurant was pretty dead on a Tuesday at 5pm. After going back and forth, we decided to leave and go to a more accommodating restaurant. It's unfortunate because the food is amazing and I've been dining here since they opened but I should've heeded some obvious red flags on the menu. No pork belly or other high end protein besides the mystery meat (duck confit) which I would assume is a direct reflection of low sales caused by the rude wait staff. After many years of patronage, I won't be back and I'll be sure to spread the word that this place cannot handle any parties over 4 because it's just too darn overwhelming for the kitchen. read more

This stable is a unique experience. It has the Wild West saloon feel meets a Quintin Tarantino produced movie. I was either expecting some cowboys to walk in, or men in black suites.
