Green wisdom is one of those quaint gems in the downtown neighborhood that I would be truly devastated if they ever closed. This is the only herbal apothecary in the area that I'm aware of and it's also one of the few affordable apothecaries in Long Beach. You can tell their mission is really to make herbal remedies and medicine from the earth accessible to everyone. All of the women I've encountered who work at and run this door are deeply knowledgeable. My favorite activity is to go here with some type of issue or ailment and to ask them to make me a custom tea blend to help support my body's healing capacity. But this place is so much more than tea and herbs! It's a lovely little marketplace which features crystals locally made honey and handmade trinkets of all kinds! Every visit feels like a unique, tiny adventure and I look forward to coming every single time.

So many wonderful brands and awesome customer service. I found some brands I have purchased in the past and some few items I wanted to try. Was surprised to see a mate and a bombilla, I usually find those in Argentinian stores. Parked on the street.

I am absolutely not a herbal enthusiast or an avid tea drinker, so this purchase took about a week of contemplation and going back and forth on what I wanted and where to go. I finally Googled "apothecary" yesterday and Green Wisdom popped up! I decided to take a quick field trip during my lunch break and was immediately welcomed by friendly faces and the most amazing smells. I didn't catch the staff member's name, but they were AMAZING--so kind and approachable. I came in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted, and they thoughtfully suggested adding another herb to my mix. I'm so excited to try it! Everyone here was incredibly down to earth, and it was refreshing to know that even if you don't really know what you're doing (like me), they're genuinely there to guide you. Such a great experience--highly recommend! Green Wisdom gained a loyal customer today!

I can't believe I didn't know about this store earlier. My friend told me about this establishment and decided to check it out. Wow! I'm so intrigued by lots of different herbs, natural remedies, plants, teas, medicines, tinctures, and more for holistic healing. I could be in the store all day browsing learning about all these interesting herbs. Staff were all so informatively friendly with lots of knowledge. I was in need of some loose tea which helped me to calm my anxiety. Staff prepared a mixture of herbs into a bag from the store apothecary right in front of you. Prices on every item in the store were at a decent price. I wanted to buy so many things, but will have to revisit since it's located close by in downtown Long Beach. Incredible spot to shop for your wellness journey.

Great spot for your herb and naturopathic needs. You can find things here that you cannot find at any nearby health or herb store. You can buy your herbs in bulk by weight or in single serving bags. There are a number of crafts and accessories to help your wellness journey, but the best part of the store is the staff. The recommendations and discussion from Julie and her knowledgeable staff are truly a treasure. The owner also teaches workshops and herbology certifications on the weekends. People travel from all over to get things here and we are lucky to have them in Long Beach.

Omg where to even begin! The shop is wonderful and I could sit around here all day if my baby didn't need a nap! The herbs are all organic and there is a wide variety of other medicines you may be seeking. I give some of the medicines made here to my baby. I have been coming here for about a year and a half now, starting when I had my baby. Everyone here has seen my baby grow before their eyes and has been so supportive. I whole heartedly trust this magical place.

Hi, do you carry black salt?

No, I'm sorry, we don't. I've seen it a few times at Grocery Outlet, might try there (I love that place!)

Hi do you guys carry buchu?

We carry it as a tincture, but not the bulk herb. We do have many other urinary tract tonics though.

Hello , do you guys have anything for kidney stone pain , reoccurring kidney infection/uti , drs swear my stones arent the cause of the pain or infections, & I really feel I can't rely on them I believe in the power of herbs please help?

We can’t answer medical questions on this page, but we can definitely offer kidney support if you’d like to come in.

Are we able to bring our own containers? If so is there a preferred type of container?

Hi Marisa! You are absolutely encouraged to bring your own containers for bulk herbs. Whichever you have is fine, though for long-term storage after you get them home, really glass jars are the best, stored in an area that is cool and out of direct…

    Do you guys sell kratom?

Sorry no, we don’t. Often dispensaries do, you can try them. I know there’s a place on Pine near 3rd that sells it, too. Across from Farmers and Merchants Bank.

Hi! Do you have herbs in droplet form? Thanks!

Yes We do! We have a large variety of tinctures and glycerites that we sell by the ounce, and we can blend personalized formulas for you, too.

    Do you guys carry comfrey:)?

Yes! We carry both the leaf and the root.

    Do have Diabetic herbs tea?

We have many herbs and herbal products that can be helpful for people with diabetes, and can make personalized tea blends for you according to your needs.

Hello Julie. Do you carry seamoss?

Hi, we sure do! We have raw, dried, powder, capsules. Just don’t carry the gel, as we encourage folks to make their own, fresh.

Is Green Wisdom open to purchase herbs in person?

Yes, we are open MTTF from 10-4. You can also order on the website and come by to pick up in person or have your order brought curbside.

Went on Sunday for a quick brunch. Ordered grilled halibut plate, wife ordered fish and scallops, topped it off with a clam chowder and two sodas. Total came out to be around 65$. Customer Experience At the beginning of this month,I went…read moreshopping at Lazy Acres with my husband,I have been a customer for a few years now,and I have generally had positive experiences with the cashiers there, particularly because I have food allergies and specific dietary needs that make this store especially useful for me. During this particular visit, however,we had an extremely uncomfortable experience with a male cashier,While we were unloading our groceries, I took out my EBT card to pay,Before it was our turn, I noticed the cashier having a friendly conversation with the customer ahead of us. However, when the cashier saw my EBT card, his demeanor noticeably changed,I observed what appeared to be an eye roll and a change in his attitude toward us. As the cashier continued scanning our groceries, he began handling most of our items very aggressively. Among them were glass jars of Mount Hagen coffee. My husband noticed the way our items were being handled, As our transaction continued, the cashier appeared increasingly irritated,He was sighing, making audible noises, and seemed visibly annoyed while scanning our groceries,At one point, he was looking through a book to find the price of some yellow long peppers we had purchased, and his demeanor continued to appear frustrated and uncomfortable and angry. Near the end of the transaction, while my husband and I were bagging our groceries, my husband asked him, "I'm sorry, are you okay? The cashier responded, "Why? Are you guys scared? We both found that response inappropriate and confrontational, especially considering that we were simply trying to complete our purchase. I want to be very clear,I cannot know for certain what was going through this employee's mind,However, the timing of the change in his demeanor particularly after he saw my EBT card made my husband and I feel that we were being treated differently because we were paying with EBT,His behavior throughout the transaction left us feeling uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome. I also want to emphasize that this is not my normal experience at Lazy Acres. I have been shopping there for years and have never had an issue like this with the other cashiers. This experience stood out specifically because of how different his behavior was. If Lazy Acres has employees who have negative attitudes toward customers using EBT or other forms of public assistance? I believe that needs to be addressed through appropriate training and management. Customers should not feel embarrassed, judged, or uncomfortable because of the method they use to pay for their groceries. I am leaving this review because I would like Lazy Acres management to take this seriously and look into what happened. I believe I still have my receipt from the transaction, and I would appreciate someone from the store contacting me directly so I can provide the details of the visit and hopefully have this matter addressed. I shop at Lazy Acres in part because the store carries products that accommodate my dietary needs. I should be able to shop there without feeling uncomfortable or judged, and my husband and I should not have to experience what felt like passive-aggressive or confrontational treatment from an employee simply while trying to purchase our groceries.

The line was long, but it moved efficiently to the cashier, and like always, the food was great. The only issue I had was the group of ladies arguing with the supervisor about their seating arrangement. From what I witnessed, the manager remained calm, respectful, and professional toward the group. So I'm not sure why they decided to grace the outdoor seating area with an encore performance of "What I would have done if I were the manager" for the next 20 minutes. I understand that the table felt wronged, and everyone has the right to voice their concerns. But at some point, the nonstop complaining only disrupted the experience of the other customers trying to enjoy their Saturday brunch. As for us, we had another great experience. It was my first time coming to Zuzu's Petals and I definitely have a lot of thoughts!…read more First, the ambiance and aesthetics are very cute. Everything feels clean, classy and thoughtfully put together. When you first arrive, seeing the line out the door can be a little intimidating. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!
