In 2016 I gave this place four stars. Today not so much. New owners? Hmm.....if you have a loved one who likes to smoke cigars you know how difficult it can be to find a place to hang out. This is not one of those places anymore. "Real" cigar smokers walk with their stick, find a place to sit and finish it, then get up and buy a new one from the shop they are at. That's just what you do and you keep coming back so it's repeat, reliable business. This shop wants you to spend $25 in drinks to sit and smoke. Also goofy as we have lots of friends who smoke but don't drink ($25 of coffee is a lot of coffee) and spend more on cigars in one sitting than we do in drinks. Maritza, the store employee turned us away because my husband has an ADA service animal. This animal is trained to provide a medical support to my husband. It is not a pet. We called the police and intend to file a complaint. As soon as we said we were calling the police she shut down the store. It's 6pm. The store hours say closing is 7pm. Definitely not my favorite place to smoke a cigar in the Keys, and the ONLY one that I'm aware of where you can't smoke your own even when you're buying a bottle of wine plus one more glass each. This stinks when you bring a box of cigars to the Keys with you. They're loosing business as we only stopped there once, as opposed to 3 times at Vino's, three time at the Rum Bar, and a few other times at various locations in Key West. It's a shame too, because other than that, I liked the place. read more

We visited a few cigar shops in both Miami and Key West and this was by far the best presentation and storage facility. no other store even had a humidor! The staff really listened to what we were looking for and helped us choose wisely. To top it off, when we realized we'd left a bag of ours there and had already shuttled back to our resort on Stock Island, the owner drove the bag to us and left it at the front desk so we'd not have to come back downtown. I give it a 2, only because they have a really good selection of cigars. I cannot rate anything else in the place. I have not experienced the drinks. Now that's out of the way, when you go in you feel like a criminal. At least I do because I have tattoos and I'm bald. They follow you like a Hawk and will definitely NOT let you touch the cigars. Now, I get maybe they've had a problem with theft. I've been purchasing cigars for 25 years and I've never been told not to touch the cigars. Not even at La Casa del Habano, was I ever told I could not. If we all know cigars in Key West, do a lot of shops did you don't know how old they been sitting in there, or coming from so you have to kind of get a good feel to make sure you're not getting a crispy Cigar. I was just totally turned off by the place and it's very convenient for me to get to, but I choose to just go to Rodriguez Cigar. read more

I have been coming here for the last 10 years...the original owner was a great guy and the rumor is he lost this place in a divorce a few years ago and now his ex runs it who is a nasty, unappreciative, should not be in retail Spanish women. She treats you like you are about to steal all the cigars, asked ''if we had food in our bag'' before entering the humidor (‍) and almost slapped my hand when it appeared I may touch a cigar. If you notice 95% of the 4-5 star reviews are from many years ago, all the 1 stars seem to be from about the time she took over. The place was empty the entire time I was there...( about 4 beers worth.) there is a decent selection of beers and some leather couches to sit on but the place has a bad vibe.... As soon as the shuttle unloaded I hit this place that was on my list of places to go/return to while in Key West. I was met by two of their best ladies who helped me out while in the humidor. First of all the lady that works there who is from Puerto Rico, is so rude, arrogant and to an extent racist. Totally ruined the experience to being there as the place itself is nice. I think people do forget being nice, polite and kind in a customer service position goes a long way. This trip when I went I was smoking a cigar from Rodriguez cigars when I entered I was met my a very rude women who wanted to charge me 25.00 for having a cigar I was planning on purchasing other cigars and have a couple of drinks she still wanted to charge me an up charge I asked for a beer to go she still tried charging me an extra 25.00 nobody was in the place I can understand why now. Seems like since they moved into the new space a few years ago things have gone down hill I find it amazing they want to turn away business or try ripping you off when nobody is in the place I also noticed they close very early now I have several friends that enjoy this place but they all said they won't return. Of all the fabulous places we went to in Key West, the intimate, relaxing and well stocked cigar bar is one of my favorites! The two ladies working behind the bar and in the humidor were very knowledgeable and enthusiastically recommended cigars for my husband and wine for me. We loved both! **Rating beer selection only** We stopped in here after I saw on UnTappd that they were serving Cigar City Brewery beers on tap. We tried the Key Lime IPA and the Jai Alai. The Jai Alai has hops and caramel notes. Still has a bitter bite on it. Apparently, the Key Lime is made with the jai alai - you would think that the bitterness of the limes would compete with the bitterness of the hops, but somehow it works. Highly recommend stopping here for a taste of the Key Lime IPA if you are in Key West. The place is a bit smelly with the cigars, but it's a beautiful space with a fancy air circulation system in place...we stayed about 15 minutes and got out of there. Surprisingly, we didn't stink of cigars either, so 15 minutes seems like a good time limit if you want to make it out still smelling fresh! read more

Very homey place. We are down in key west for a whole week and this place is just awesome to come to at the end of our day to wine down before we get back to our hotel.
