Linguini O.G.T.B: lacked TONS of flavor, and tons of tomatoes, was mostly just pasta with a couple toppings. Baked Ziti: drenched in sauce, was a bit overwhelming but it wasn't bad. Caesar Salad: solid caesar salad, nothing special. Fresh Squeezed Lemonade: delicious! Paid $130 for 3 entrees, 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 2 lemonades and a glass of wine. All in all, the spinach dip and the lemonade were the favorites of the night. I wouldn't come back on my own, but if someone invited me I wouldn't say no. I feel for the price the food could have tasted much better. (Charged me $10 for maybe 5 pieces of chicken in my linguini) Although the portions were big, it did not make up for the lack of seasoning and flavor. Service was regular, nothing special. Gregorios is AMAZING! 2020 has been difficult, and we were lucky enough to eat there the first weekend they re-opened. We like to sit outside, because you feel like your sitting in the trees ( in a good way). The food is so delicious and you get big portions! If you order a full serving, you'll be taking home leftovers. For starters, I recommend the bruschetta , caprese or chilled mushrooms. The chilled mushrooms are a must!! Their bread and butter/oil are wonderful, I have to be careful not to fill up on it before the food. My husband mixes it up on entrees, and enjoys their pizza and beer selections. My favorite dish is the House Specialty, Pasta de Cabia. We've ordered delivery before and the food is just as amazing. One of the top meals in town we had during our visit. Finding parking and the restaurant itself was a bit tough, but well worth the trouble. Right away with the bread we knew things were going to be good. It was uber soft and was used for many soppings of multiple sauces. We were visiting Oceanside & wanted Italian for dinner. A Quick google search and Gregorio's popped up. This is only 10 mins from the Oceanside pier. It is well worth the drive. We walked up and loved the "peaceful protest" sign out front & we were greeted by the hostess who quickly sat us. Our server was Hannah. The best Italian food I have had in a long time! I had a tough time ordering because there are so many great choices. After a waitress recommendation, I ordered the Pasta primavera with shrimp and my friend had the pesto ravioli. Oh..my..god! I don't know what they put in it (crack? LoL) but it had The BEST taste. I ordered a half order because the full order is enough for two people and it was more than enough for me. The complimentary sourdough loaf style bread was yummy and an ample supply was given. We had before dinner drinks (martinis from their martini menu) at our table in the bar area. And they were the Bomb! They have an extensive drink menu. The server was super sweet and attentive and the atmosphere although not a romantic candlelit Swanky Italian atmosphere, was lively and friendly, and not too loud. Everyone seemed happy, even the staff. You could also sit outside next to a heater or fire pit if you get reservations on a weekend. We were seated quickly in the bar on a very hopping Friday night and totally happy about that. And we got out in under $100 for the two of us. I love this place! Everyone is so warm and welcoming, and the food is delicious! I love to sit at the bar, it feels like having dinner in a family kitchen, but the outside patio is great too! I have tried several of their pastas, the fettuccini Alfredo is absolute heaven. Their pizza is great too, plenty big enough to share, but my current favorite is their caprese salad. The second dish, eggplant Parmesan was just mediocre. Given the number of Italian restaurants in the area, we chose to randomly pick one with a large number of people and we chose this one. There was a decent amount of wait, but you can leave your number and they'll give you a call to follow up with you when your table is available. The restaurant is situated in a plaza so there are other places to look around as you wait if you like. Ambiance is homey and casual. You can choose to dress up, but I feel like this is more of a family-dinner than a fancy location. Masks are required to be worn except when dining at your table. Some of their heaters aren't working so be cautious for cold nights. Food-wise, we had their filet mignon, a large margherita pizza, and an individual sized cheese with pepperoni added. For started, we had their calamari order as well. To start, the calamari order was possibly the better of what we ordered. The calamari was fried at a nice temperature, the batter wasn't overly thick, nicely salted, and the tomato dipping sauce accompanying it had a nice amount of tartness and sweetness to it to pair with the salty calamari. A decent amount of calamari was available and it wasn't just the head portions, but it came with the leg portions as well. On to the main entrees, the filet mignon was overcooked. We asked for medium well and it came out well done unfortunately. The meat itself was dry and honestly, I felt the piece was wasted because of how it was cooked. The accompanying sides were decent and held their own by themselves. The balsamic reduction was nicely done and was a saving grace when eaten with the steak. Aside from that, I can't say I recommend a filet mignon from them. Pizza-wise, the margherita was not what I expected - dough wise. I was looking forward to a crispy and chewy dough (what a margherita should be), but the pizza itself was just a regular pizza crust, which made us think we ordered a tomato, basil, and cheese pizza than margherita. Move past the dough, the ingredients were plenty and pretty fresh. The tomatoes were a bit undercooked and up to one's preference if they like it or not. The individual sized pizza had a lot of pepperoni on it, which was nice, but seeing the different sizes, I feel like it's definitely more worth if you just order the large and take home the leftovers. All in all, worth a try and to be fair, perhaps we didn't order the best items to review them. Most people seem to get their pasta items so if we are in the area, we may order a pasta item instead next time. Although, if it's on the menu, one would feel compelled to think they have a good grasp on the food item. A hard pass on the margherita in my opinion, but I can envision their other pizzas coming out quite well. read more

I do not know why it took me so long to try this restaurant. I've lived in Carlsbad for so many years and didn't try this place until a friend invited me at Christmas. I was completely blown away. The menu is really robust. The food was excellent. The service was even better than the food. The ambience is really casual. Completely amazing vibe. If there is ANY problem, you are screwed. Our food disappeared and after more than an hour I called. Their answer? Shrug. "They picked up the food. Can't help you." Doordash won't be able to help you because you didn't order from them. Rock, meet hard place. If you want delivery, do NOT order from Gregorio's. Order directly from a delivery service where they will stand by their service and make it right if there's an issue. This isn't the first time this has happened, so again, beware. BTW, an hour later I got a notification that the food was delivered - an hour ago! (Before it was delivered at all.) EDIT: Gregorio's followed up and 100% made it right. I was told that for sure they will take responsibility for these scenarios, so order with confidence! read more

Our family has come to Carlsbad each year for a long time, and we always look forward to Gregorio's. Usually the food and service is fantastic. This time was really disappointing. We had a reservation and got sat right away but the server didn't come to our table for 10-15 mins. The restaurant wasn't very busy so we were shocked that no one came to help us. After getting our drink and appetizer orders we didn't see our server, nor did we get our drinks for another 15 minutes. After an hour we finally got our food but never got our appetizers. The server said that the cooks accidentally misplaced it and packed it in the to-go area. Instead of making a new one and giving it to us, they just took it out of the container and put it on a plate. It was cold and soggy. Our food was cold and didn't look appetizing. The server even asked if we wanted cheese on top of our food after noticing no one eating and one of my family members mentioned they were not eating because it was pretty cold and the server kind of laughed awkwardly but didn't offer a solution. Our poor server was the only one who looked like they were actually working. We didn't see other employees until we were about to leave. No shame to the server because he was trying to do everything around the restaurant but the lack of attentive service effected our evening. Overall a very underwhelming dinner. We definitely should've picked somewhere else to eat. It'll probably be the end of our family tradition of eating at Gregorio's. read more
