As a business traveler I always ask my customers, "Where do you eat?" I try to avoid chains whenever possible. A customer pointed me to Griff's and what a great choice! That chicken salad? Crazy good!!! Whenever I drive 65 now and get near BG, I think "do I have time to drive all the way down that street for chicken salad?" Lunch time is so busy and the clientele might want to embrace the custom of sitting wherever there is a seat! I had 2 empty chairs at my table and people were standing all around me. I'm always looking for a good sandwich place. I got a wrap and there was way too much sauce on it. My husband's had no flavor. I love pasta salad, and that too was pretty bland. I live in Louisville, but am a Bowling Green native. I've been enjoying Griffs since it first opened. I moved to Louisville in 2013 and every time I come back to BG to visit family, I always fit Griffs in our schedule. My two favs is the chipotle chicken panini (+ avocado) and the chicken salad sandwich on white bread. I pretty much eat that combo every time we go. Griffs is probably my favorite place to eat in Bowling Green. read more

Griffs is a very good local restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and the facility to clean. The food isn't amazing but it is great food for a deli. They also get highly involved in local charities which is always a plus. If you like supporting local charities then a visit to Griffs is well worth it. read more

Best chicken salad I have EVER had! Generous & fresh...what more could you ask for????

This place was amazing! My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to Mammoth Cave! It's easy to find and prompt service. The menu is really big so there's something for everyone. I got the chicken club wrap with a pasta salad side and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the rajun Cajun which was also delicious! We ended up splitting the other half of each of our wraps with each other! I will definitely go back if I go through Bowling Green again! read more

I work near Griggs so I often end up there for lunch. I love that grills has several choices. You can either choice a heathly choice such as a salad Or baked loaded steak potato. My favorites are the southern salad and The buffalo chicken spinach wrap. I posted a picture of the buffalo chicken wrap. Lots of yummy food. Agree with Michael W. on its a great non-chain in a sea of chains in BG. The boyfriend and I are huge fans. They have lots of loaded spuds (BBQ Spud = yum) and I particularly enjoy the Southerner chicken salad, too. Different desserts, daily. Also, get the frequent flyer card if you're a local. Griff's is a sandwich shop in a location that makes it an ideal lunch stop for many people in Bowling Green. You can even submit your order online, which makes Griff's a convenient option for ordering lunch on a busy workday. I ate here today for the first time and just ordered a big bowl of their Cajun Chicken Soup because the girl behind the counter suggested it. Oh my goodness--good call! The soup was amazing and really hit the spot on a freezing, snowy evening. I should have gone back to thank the girl who suggested the soup! Griff's menu includes all of the typical sandwich shop choices--a variety of salads, paninis, wraps, sandwiches, spuds, and, of course, soups. The basic ingedients here are fresh and well proportioned ... but they drench everything in sauce. Next time I'll try the Wise Guy sandwich with no vinaigrette and maybe I'll love it instead of like it. To me it was better than a Panera panini. Ditto with the salads (I had the Caesar and my husband had the House). But they definitely don't skimp on the portions. For the combo, the half salads were huge. The half panini was standard-sized, but we were there for dinner so that's OK. I also tried the Italian cake, which was light and not too sweet and included nuts and raisins. Wish they served decaf coffee as well as caffeinated. Overall, my husband liked the place but wasn't crazy about it. I'm interested in trying it again: particularly the Roma cheese sandwich with tomatoes and basil. For two adults for dinner we spent about $20. read more

It was worth it, sampled an excellent and unique soup and a terrific sandwich (grilled hear with avocado and bacon, very tasty). This was my first experience at Griffs. I had heard numerous recommendations about it and finally decided the pull the trigger and try it. I went over the menu several times before finally deciding what I wanted. Everything sounded good so it wasn't an easy decision. I went with the Caesar Chicken Wrap (on honey wheat). Words cannot describe how outstanding this thing was. Each bite was full of flavor. It was so good that I almost ordered a second one just to bring home. I will definitely be returning and trying more of the outstanding menu items. 10/10 would recommend. read more

At 8:25 pm CST on Jan 6th 2015 I had the work experience ever at Griff's. My son had what is usually great broccoli soup. We had to ask for it to be reheated 3 times. My usually great Panini was cold and all the restaurant staff could think about was leaving to go home. This is not the best practice to keep a local establishment in business. read more

At first I was skeptical of a restaurant that advertised an "amazing baked potato" how good can a potato be? Well the answer is amazing! The potatoes are huge and will defiantly leave you full. Now that I am more carb conscious I get one of their amazing wraps. The tortilla is always fresh and never dry. The meat and vegetable selection is limitless. The owner is usually there when I come in and always makes sure everyone is pleased. There is a lot to be said about a restraunt who's owner is hands on and available for the guests. I was making my way through bowling green and I had heard of this small sit in deli so thought I'd give it a try. After about 20 mins of standing in line I was finally able to place my order...by the time my sandwich was served to me the meat was completely cold, had onions on it which I had asked them to leave out, and they acted like it was my fault when asking them to please fix the mistake. I also fill that the $7.00 for a grilled cheese is overpriced, not worth it, and you're better off avoiding this place all together. The real icing on the cake is when I was finished with my meal I went to use the men's room, locked the door like always and half through my stream someone enters the restroom! The doors locks didn't even work! This place could def improve..I'll choose anywhere else next time I'm in town. read more

Recommended by family and for good reason - sandwiches here are excellent! Prices are reasonable and service is quick. My boys loved their mac and cheese (unsurprising, since it looked like their favorite blue box variety), and my daughter was happy with her grilled cheese. Gross, my stomach hurts now from eating at Griff's. The food tasted processed, my companion's rueben had wet meat on it. The veggie panini I ordered was gloppy from too much cheese and a chemical-tasting sauce. The potato salad, if you can call it that, contained shredded cheese and bacon--if someone orders a vegetarian sandwich, you should probably mention that the potato salad has bacon in it--especially because it's not stated anywhere on the menu. This place reminds me of a gross version of McAlister's. People seem to be claiming that it's not a chain, but the food sure tastes like gross chain food. read more
