I am definitely impressed! The service was top notch. Our server Eric was thoughtful, courteous, friendly, and helpful. We had the house salad which was super fresh. The tomatoes tasted as good as the ones out of our garden at home. We had the Don pizza with sausage & pepperoni. The sausage is like nothing I've had before. The crust was crunchy in all the right places! Obviously people are particular about the way they like their pizza but this was a definite great experience for us. We also ordered a meat & cheese plate bc we wanted to try the meats and it was delish! The place has a NY/Italian vibe. There's lotsa NY framed photographs and super cool hang wine bottles. I have been to Grimaldi's other locations so it was time to hit up the new location closer to me at Castle Hills. The first impression is a nice decor and really cool wine bottle chandeliers but they used really bright daylight bulbs in the can lights and just makes it an overly sterile bright light in the restaurant and could really use at least being swapped out for soft white lightbulbs. If you go and have never signed up for their rewards program you will get a free appetizer when you join at the time of your visit. We used it for a Mediterranean Salad. The salad portions are huge and a great value and really good! Even better tasting since it was free with the rewards certificate. The pizza is a very tasty New York style crust and was well cooked. The Don pizza is fantastic with ricotta cheese and the peppers and meatballs. I would highly suggest this pizza We went with the tiramisu for desert and was really good and a nice portion. Today, myself, my wife and the kids went there for dinner. We ordered Bruschetta Trio for appetizer. It took FOREVER to make it, and when it came, the bread was barely covered with tomato. We ordered (2) pizzas. Again, it took very long time to make. We couldn't taste the cheese because it was hardly any, and the other toppings weren't any better. The waiter was absolutely great and the restaurant was very clean. We could've ate steak across the street at Texas Roadhouse for the money we paid instead of eating just dough. The family came here for my sister's birthday and the place was a pretty solid place to have that event. Our service was good. Our waitperson was attentive and very courteous. The food was pretty good. There is a lot better pizza than Grimaldi's in my opinion, but their pizza is solid. The ambiance is kind of brick and woodsy with glass wine bottle chandeliers. Our favorite splurge pizza shop had to order some last Sunday and swing over to pick it up. Never dissatisfied with the quattro formagio pizza is great and I like to add the house blend Italian sausage and onions we also ordered the Don pizza you know the one, it has meatballs and pepperoni, so good. Never leave without grabbing a ricotta and spinach calazone so good you nay not even need the marinara sauce for the dipping. It's our fun date night place to go get pizza and apps, the wine selection is always good and the suggested pairings are always right on. The deserts are no joke as well. With the Frank Sinatra in the background the amazing staff and service it's an fun place and area for a date, the movie theater is in walking distance as well as cookie shop, bars, park area, stores, ice cream parlor, lots to do and see. Have stopped in a few times and really enjoy the pizza. The salads are enough for two or more wit the dressing tossed into the salad which I prefer so I do always order a salad. Open kitchen area makes it fun to watch the pizza being made. Sometimes the servers are meh, we've gone near our full meal without drink refills or a server coming back. Other times you get a great server. Not sure why that happens. The pizza is phenomenal, haven't had a bad pizza yet there and very much will be back I've only tried the tiramisu dessert and my goodness, delicious, sooo good read more

I've been a fan of Grimaldis for a while and happy one will be close to me now. The pizza are quite tasty. The spinach salad was so good! It had the perfect amount of bacon, purple onions, and Gorgonzola cheese to it. The Oreo cheesecake was really good. We are definitely coming back. read more

If you ever have the option of eating at Grimaldis in the Realm, then pass. They cannot get their act together back in the kitchen. They totally messed up an online order that had been available to them for 12 hours. They burned the calzone and had to start again. By the time they got the calzone done, the pizza had been sitting in the warmer for a half hour. Update: The calzone came out raw in the middle..because they rushed. The pizza sat in the warmer for 40 minutes. It was like (slightly) warm tomato sauce on a saltine cracker. There's plenty of other pizza places in the area. Try one of those read more

Friggin love their pizza. The coal fired way that they cook it just adds a different flavor than many of the other pizza joints. Staff is very nice, bar tenders were friendly and attentive. Love the big band music and the old fashioned table cloths. Kinda tucked away in the strip of shops, office and apartments but worth it! Highly recommended. Pizza was good! I usually don't like eating the crust but the crust here is delicious. The inside is kinda soggy but I think that that's just how it is since it's a thin crust. Also, because it's coal-baked I think you don't want to put the pizza in for too long since it can burn. The suasage that was on the pizza that we ordered was kinda spicy which I wasn't prepared for. My poor toddler couldn't eat it because it was spicy. Also, ordered the bruschetta trio as an appetizer. It was okay honestly. Not worth the 12 bucks for something I can make at home. On the other hand, I do think service was kinda lacking. We came before the dinner rush so our pizza came out in a timely manner but when it came to refilling waters, getting a box, and paying our tab, our waitress was very slow in these tasks. I had been hearing good things about this place so we decided to try it. We ordered the pizza to be delivered on Sunday, expecting it to live up to the hype. When it arrived, the entire crust was so underdone, that it was almost raw. you couldn't eat it without silverware, and the middle was almost doughy. I ended up cooking it in the oven in order to get the crust cooked. The actual flavors and add ons were delicious! What a shame that it wasn't cooked. UPDATE! Had lunch at the bar, great view of water fountain, with great temp from open windows. Trying to be healthy, enjoyed the large house salad with grilled chicken. It was delicious. This was the 2nd closest Grimaldi's to us (the closest being Highland Village). We drove down from Oklahoma for my daughter's birthday. This location had fewer ratings, but a higher rating overall. Having been to the Highland Village location before, and knowing it to be busy, I thought we'd give this one a try. There's not much to do around this location, and the ambience is less appealing than the uptown Dallas or Watters Creek locations. I rarely write reviews, but what lead me to write this review is the service. It was not busy at all during our visit, but it took a long while even to get our drinks (water), and also took a while for the food. We ordered 3 pizza's (one with a cauliflower crust for my daughter), a salad, dessert, and a red wine. The dessert came out first, followed by the salad (after asking about the rest of our order when the dessert came first), then 2 pizzas. I decided not to say anything about the missing pizza and see if it showed up on my bill. I also had to remind about the wine, and a white wine was brought. My wife said it was okay, she'd drink it and the waiter said he'd go get the red that I had ordered, but it never came. When the bill came, I realized the missing pizza was the cauliflower crust for my daughter (I thought it had been a traditional crust I had ordered with similar toppings. She's supposed to avoid wheat, but thankfully it's not a severe allergy). This was a very disappointing experience. The waiter was friendly, but I can't explain the number of mistakes and the slow turnaround in every step of the process. I did request that the white wine that we didn't order be taken off the bill. When the waiter returned, he said his manager also took one of the pizzas off the bill, which I didn't ask for, but it was a courteous gesture. read more
