I'm a big Gringo's fan coming from the Katy area, I have to say because of the consistency of the food quality. For a TexMex chain they are pretty darn good. You get good flavor, texture, variety and quantity for a very reasonable price. No it's not Escalantes or Ninfa's on Navigation but for a good solid chain, it's very good. The service was excellent. The margarita was average but very good price especially at happy hour. The chicarrons are very good and excellent with queso. I was there for my birthday lunch so I enjoyed it very much. I am certainly going to make a return visit very soon!

**Go online and get on the waitlist! This place can get packed and have a long wait. We got online and were seated in 10 minutes once we arrived.** This place is great for groups with large seating options. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with substitutions. It was a little tricky because the wait staff didn't know the answer to our questions when bringing out our food. The margaritas were delicious and large. Would definitely go again!

Disappointment. If you're raised in Texas, how can you mess up Tex-Mex? Let me further preface by saying the service was excellent. But on that same note, it was obvious that once it was realized that the food was not received well, remind you that we made no complaints, the service dropped off. Why voice disappointment in food that is obviously representative of the restaurant. And it wasn't just the food. The drinks were, at best, average. This was my first experience at this restaurant chain and my expectations were high. I chose it specifically because of the ratings but I should've paid more attention to the few low scores that I saw because later I reread those and I agree. My salad, was nothing special. It was the southwest shrimp salad. The entire thing tasted of lettuce and now I know why they give five sauces to smother their food in. However, the sauce that I was given, while you would expect it to be tasty, was quite bland. My mom ordered the taco salad to be safe. Good thing she did because it actually tasted a bit on the Taco Bell side, which would mean at least edible. My comments here are not to slam the food because obviously lots of people enjoy it, but I do want to give a heads up to those people who actually like a tasty, spicy, flavorful dish that would be a representative of a Tex-Mex meal to perhaps make choices differently than we did. And to be the devil's advocate, I had read that the restaurant is known for their street tacos. Perhaps those are their Wow factor.

I was craving Mexican food, and Gringo's had been recommended. I was planning to get it to go order. I didn't really like their waiting area for to go, so I asked if I could sit at the bar and have a cold drink while I was waiting. I ended up sitting at the bar and chatting with a friendly bartender. The facility is relatively new and well decorated. They have three good size televisions right over the bar so I was able to watch a basketball game while eating. I had a pastor bowl, which came with black beans and rice. It was quite tasty, but more than I could eat. The complementary chips and salsa were very good, but their green salsa, which is usually made with tomatillos, seems to have been made with sour cream and was very good.

This has been on my list for a while, as I've had great experiences at other Goode company sister companies. I was excited to try Mexican, and they didn't disappoint. We made reservations ahead of time, so we were seated pretty quickly. Kevin our server was fantastic! He greeted our table promptly as each member arrived, filling our drinks, bringing chips and salsa, and then making some suggestions with the menu. They had brunch and lunch available. I went with the lunch, and was super happy with my choices. I got one of the combos that came with 2 cheese enchiladas and a crispy tacos. I changed out the cheese for beef enchiladas. Firstly, the chips and salsa are super fresh, I imagine made in house. But the same for the tortillas. When my food came, I was in heaven! The crispy taco, I just devoured, I couldn't put it down. The beef had great seasoning, the taco was super crispy and had all the fresh toppings! 10 out of 10! The enchiladas came topped with a chili queso, and I always get double beans no rice, bc I like to make nachos out of all the food. Everything was just so good! My son got the french toast, and it was absolutely amazing. Everyone's food, looked incredible, and we all got super quiet when it came out, which speaks volumes to me! I had to take some food home, because it was a lot. I was given a taco by one of my friends to take home too, had it the next day, I think it was a chicken taco, gosh!!!! soooo freakin good!! Can't wait to come back and try something else!

We decided to check for open seats at the bar and that was full too. However, there are a few small "open" seating near the bar first come first serve for full service. Fortunately, we only waited about 15 minutes and were able to grab a table. The downside is the table is pretty small so by the time you have drinks and your food there is very minimal space. Be prepared to be overcrowded with people standing by the bar. Overall, service was good considering how busy it was. Shelby was our server and she was attentive and apologetic about the food taking awhile, which was understandable since they were busy. The food was just mediocre. I've been to different locations and this one was just okay. I was surprised that the micheladas weren't ridiculously expensive compared to El Tiempo or Ninfa's. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos and they were okay nothing to brag about. My husband ordered the chipotle Chicken Fajita Tacos and they were okay nothing great about them. We also ordered the Beef Fajita Nachos and they were horrible. The cheese and chips were dry and soggy, the beef dry and overcooked. The presentation wasn't appealing either. The ceviche was good, but tasted slightly fishy. We only came here because there wasn't an El Tiempo or Ninfa's around here.

The manager, when he comes over "to apologize" will not actually apologize. And when you mention the other person has finished their meal, they will ask, "oh do you want me to cancel your order then?" No, that's not what i was saying, thanks. And when he brought the correct food, he asked if i wanted a to go box, I said yes and then he never returned. Then the original server dropped the bill, picked it up, and returned the cc and receipts without so much as a word, no "thank you", no "I'm so sorry about all that". Nothing. Like, basically threw it at our table. I really didn't expect a taco salad post lunchtime (1:30pm-3pm) to avoid traffic would have ended up being such a big deal. But apparently it was too much for this Lupe Tortilla. Ps... they did comp the fajita salad they failed to make correctly multiple times... let's just compare that to a Pappasito's who, a few months ago, comped our entire food bill, after some seating snafu... so, looks like Pappasito's is my go to now.
