Well it started on Wednesday when our steering started going out. I called and told them about the steering and they said to bring it in and it would be 60 dollars to check it. We went in Thursday and the whole story changed. It was 85 dollars to drive it around the parking lot to see what it was doing. On our way there the ABS light came on so we asked them to check it too. They said to check it it would be 185 dollars. So they called us later in the day and said they couldnt find anything wrong with the steering but the ring on the axle need a new one. They put on a new axle and we picked it up on Friday. They said they couldnt fix the steering because they didnt have the tools. We leave and the ABS light is still on after we paid 800 dollars to get the work done. I wouldnt take my dog to this place. They are rude and dont fix the problems you take to them to get fixed. We called corporate and the Attorney General on them. Wonderful and quick service! I had a huge bulge in my tire so they made space for me the next day. I asked them to check all 4 tires for potential replacement and they were honest and said only 2 needed to be replaced. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Quick and honest! Perfect! read more

WARNING - They do not honor warranties!! Just had the battery die in my car today, had to have AAA come out to jump the car. AAA checked the battery, it said the battery was bad, even sent us an email saying battery was bad and why. Fortunately I have the battery under warranty at Grismer! Great, right? Nope. Not at Grismer. After the jump and car being driven to Grismer, the battery had recharged. This doesn't mean the battery is magically repaired, but Grismer sure seemed to think so. They totally disregarded the AAA report that was sent to us and claimed that the battery was fine. They said to call them back if the battery dies again and they can look at it then. But then I assume after using another emergency call to AAA (which would be our last for this period) Grismer will just claim the battery is charged again and there is nothing wrong. We might try to continue to get them to honor the warranty but they sure don't seem to want to do the right thing. At this point I might just buy a new battery at a different company that actually lives up to their end of a warranty. Either way, Grismer will never see business from me again. I used this store for all my repairs until now, I went to Cincinnati on business, broke down, and had the tow company bring my vehicle to them to fix. After one day, Brian called and said it was ready!!! I picked it up paid 230 dollars for the "repair". After driving 10 miles I was broke down again. I took my car in to get the tires balanced because of a wobble i got at high speeds. It cost 40 to balance all four but when i came in three hours after my car should have been done they told me that even though they balanced the tires the problem was tire damage i took from a pothole on two tires. "Why would you perform an unnecessary service if you knew it wouldn't fix the problem?" I asked myself, the lure of that $40 must have been irresistible. The car was also still up on the lift when i came in so i had to stand around and wait for them to put two tires back on the car while the guy pitched tire prices at me. In the end the $40 dollars of service they did knowing it wouldn't help cost them any chance for a tire sale, and i don't think i'll be bothering to go back in the future. read more

I have been using Grismer for years because I feel I can trust them. They always check my car and let me know what condition my car is in and what repairs are important for safety. I never feel pressured to fix if I can't afford. read more

I took my 2007 VW GTI in to get the AC looked at. The diagnosis was that it was leaking freon, so they filled it with freon and put a dye in it, and then told me to bring it back in a week to see where the leak was. 2 hours after driving it home all the freon had leaked out and the AC wasn't working again. I took it back so they could locate the leak, and they said it was the evaporator, which requires a complete removal of the dash and 8 hours of labor to replace. They quoted me about $1200 for parts and labor. With such a large bill, I called to get other quotes and happened upon a place that specializes in VW's called Dandini's in Westerville. They were skeptical that it was the evaporator right off the bat as they have never seen one go out, and they assured that it was nearly impossible that the evaporator was the culprit, so I decided to take it to them instead. So I go to pick up my car from Grismer and the guy tells me that they looked all over and didn't see the dye anywhere, and that it must be the evaporator as it's the only part of the AC system that they couldn't inspect without the aforementioned removal of the dash. Long story short, I dropped it off at Dandini's and an hour later they called to tell me that the source of the leak was a switch, and that he could see the dye all around it. The total bill went from around $1200 to approximately $270. Either Grismer is terribly incompetent, or they flat out lied and were trying to rip me off. I believe it's the latter considering Dandini's was able to spot the leak almost immediately. Whatever the case, I won't be taking any car to Grismer nor can I recommend them to anyone else in good conscience. read more

Had my oil changed at Grismer's, unfortunately, and while the salesmen are very kind and helpful....... apparently the mechanics are not. I had my vehicle taken to another place for some other work, only to be told that the oil filter was loose as he'd ever seen one, that was why it was leaking oil severely, and that it posed a serious hazard. I have my family in this car, including small children. It's obviously a tactic used to have me come back to their business for repairs, but thankfully, there is a more honest mechanic out there.
