    Portion of the breakfast menu

We arrived on a busy Tuesday morning and waited a bit to be seated. It was definitely worth the wait. I had the Parisian crepe (it was made more like a quesadilla with brie cheese and it comes with ham but I substituted chicken). And it was fabu! I forgot to take a picture because I don't normally take pictures of food, but here's a sample from the menu.

We were visiting Taos and staying at a resort in town and read Gutiz's review in Yelp. We went for breakfast and it was delicious! My husband had the french toast and I had the Spanish torte - both were outstanding! Service was friendly and definitely efficient. Highly recommend.

Great breakfast at Gutiz! Let me start by saying that they have GREAT coffee! And they give U a 'Big Ole' mug of it and free refills. We heard great things about their French Toast - and it looked Delicious! (Saw it on another table). But none of us were in the mood for a 'sweet breakfast'. So we ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Parisien Crepe (see pics). Both were Amazing! They also had some really good looking homemade french pastries on display, but we were too full to sample those. Next time! Food came out quick, dishes were ~$15 to $17 and worth it. Service was excellent! Would recommend this great family restaurant.

I I found this place on google looking for a dog friendly spot to have breakfast in Taos, where I was going to spend the day walking around. The service was so good. I had the patio to myself with pups. They got treated to bacon, lots of lovin' and attention The food was really good and fresh. The owner checked on me a few times. He was very kind. Great local spot They serve two kinds of housemate hot sauces, too Yum!

Incredible food and lovely people. Went on a Thursday for breakfast while visiting town. It's such a cute spot for breakfast or lunch. Had the Cajun sausage and breakfast plate, it was so good and fresh. Then ordered some sourdough and it was just made fresh in house! I only wish we had a spot like this in Santa Fe! I'd come all the time.

Very good place and the staff were excellent. They have a small kitchen so don't expect to eat quickly. But overall it was worth the wait. French toast was amazing and I had the beans with andouille sausage with egg. The Mexican hot chocolate was amazing.

Must eat at place for foodies. Mexican hot chocolate, waffles and pollo borachon were the best in taos.

    Goat Cheese Quesadilla with chicken

I never thought I'd say a goat cheese quesadilla was one or the best things I ate in Tao...but their goat cheese quesadilla was one of the best things I ate in Taos! This spot is likely known for their DDD stamp (yep, that's another DDD restaurant in the books), and arguably the Latin French fusion concepts sounds as if it could go wrong at any second, but their flowers are well deserved! Everything we tried was delicious. Every staff member we encountered was lovely. I will say, our potatoes were not reheated correctly, but the flavors were on point. I blame the fact that we arrive near close, I wouldn't exactly expect them fresh so close to closing hour. When I'm back the area, I'll have to remember to visit their lovely pastry case! If you're in the area, don't fear the Latin French fusion concept, Guy got it right, this spot is worth a visit.

There was about a 30 minute wait when we arrived, but it honestly flew by since there are some fun little shops nearby to browse while you wait. They are also dog friendly on the outdoor patio, which we really appreciated! Just keep in mind that the wait for outdoor seating can be a bit longer. We ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast and huevos rancheros, and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were seasoned so well. I also tried the Maya hot chocolate, which was delicious, along with the sparkling cranberry juice. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we grabbed a few pastries from the front beforehand . They were all so good, but the savory goat cheese and tomato pastry was definitely a favorite. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the freshness and quality of the food. Between the atmosphere, great service, and delicious food, this was definitely a place we'd come back to!

Our server, Chaniece, absolutely made the experience. I told her I wanted to order some of the most authentic Spanish dishes on the menu, and she came through perfectly. If you have questions about the menu, ask for her recommendations--you won't be disappointed. My partner ordered Martin's Breakfast Burrito, and I had the huevos rancheros. Both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. Michael's Kitchen is only open Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., so plan accordingly. We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and had about a 30 minute wait. It was busy, but the wait was actually enjoyable because the restaurant has several little nooks filled with antiques and artwork by local artists. There was plenty to look at, and the time passed quickly. Taos has many wonderful mom and pop restaurants, but from what I learned during our visit, there are fewer locally owned restaurants serving traditional Spanish cuisine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try all of them, but I'm very happy we chose Michael's Kitchen. Between the authentic food the welcoming atmosphere and Chaniece's outstanding service, it was one of the highlights of our visit to Taos.

UP TO DATE REVIEW! March, 12th, 2026…read more Today, Thursday at 6:00pm, I arrived at the El Monte Sagrado living Resort and Spa. The architecture of this place is very distinctive to Taos and its aesthetics, so it was very welcoming in its nature. After checking in at the restaurant I was then seated very kindly at a table that was neatly displayed and arranged. Everything was clean and crisp making the physical experience comforting. Besides that, the real question is how is the food? My initial thought was how beautiful the food looked! It was visually creative but still refined for plating. Presentation wise, it was quite impeccable. I was faced with some seasonal dishes that were expertly curated for flavorful taste. The dishes nuanced smoothly with robust umami essences and delicate savory kicks! The experience of the food left all my sensations arresting. It was meticulously executed and left me very satisfied as a customer. Overall I had an immersive dining experience that would only lead to my recommendations to others. The other reviews really make this restaurant an understated luxury. Durring a previous visit I also had a brief but impactful experience with the chef, Cristina Martinez. She is as iconic as she sounds with her deep roots in New Mexico. From my personal intrest I found out that she attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and graduated with honors in 2006. The college heavily focuses on precision knife work, classic sauces, plating discipline, and traditional culinary terminology. You can tell that she puts love into the work she accomplishes and reflects authentic New Mexican family traditions while keeping things professional. I can not express how wonderful it was to meet her and know the generative mind behind all the transcendent dishes! I hope whoever reads this review finds it helpful and intuitive to your needs! your's truly Savannah Romero.
