Directions: Stay on your left as you enter the store and walk towards the back on the store; the men's section is in a seperate room. I love H&M and this is a pretty big branch! The staff isn't always the friendliest... but if you ask them for something they will carry through (not always with a smile). Was on a business trip and my 15 year old wanted a whole bunch of clothes from this hipster store that's not in Hawaii yet. I brought with me printouts of stuff online......and went to 3 stores.........and none of them had the items. Each store I went in I got strange looks......maybe they thought I was either a cross dresser or pervert. Customer service was lacking to say the least. And their return policy is horrids......30 days with a receipt......kind hard when you live 2,000+ miles away over water. Would buy stiff online but wait......they don't ship to Hawaii. I have had a decent experience at this H&M location until today. My sister liked a top that was on a mannequin so we looked around the store to find it before seeking someone to take it off the mannequin. When we asked a male associate (didn't get his name but he was wearing a cheetah print bucket hat today) he proceeded to tell my sister and I that if he took the shirt off the mannequin that we automatically had to buy it because taking it off was too much work to do. At first I thought he was joking but then he continued to say I'll take it off so you can get in line to pay for it and I'll have it at the register. We indeed did not buy the shirt and left upset that we were treated like this. Why would anyone buy anything without trying it on first to see if they like it? there was a shirt left on a mannequin and we asked an associate named kirby abs he was very short with us and rude. the shirt was the last one and he said we couldn't buy it and just walked away from us. He didn't seem interested in helping us at all and then we found out he is a manager, he has terrible mannerisms for a manager. I love shopping here time and time again. The price of the clothes are very reasonable and I dig the styles. One thing though that I was never pleased with, was the quality of the jeans. I have had two pairs of jeans from H&M and not one pair lasted me a year before having holes or rips. I had one pair of the jeans that I washed for the first time, only to pull them out of the washer with rips all over (no that was not the look). so buy the clothes but not the jeans =( read more

Very rude staff, tried to return a simple 15$ item and use it towards my purchase for 10$, they refused to give me 5$ credit, this is not my main issue but the cashier VANESSA was so rude and disrespectful, She dealt with us as we stole those items! Very unprofessional , it's funny to see her name down there with more negative comments. I like H&M a teensy bit better than Forever 21. H&M sells a lot of vintage clothing, especially this one. I recently got a 'The Beatles' crop top, a handbag, laced bikers jacket, and a bunch of cool jewelries! The price is pretty decent. Sometimes the clothes are worth the price, but sometimes it's not. But most of the time when I'm at spectrum, they have good prices. I actually got a varsity jacket here, pretty good price. I got if for about $22.00 or so. I saw one at Forever 21 very similar to that, but it was for $29.00+. The store is pretty big, decent prices, friendly staff, and A LOT of clothes. It also seems as if this H&M changes their style of clothing because my friend told me all she saw at the store were blazers, jeans, button downs, etc. One time it would be all vintage clothing, the next preppy. But I always seem to go there when they have vintage clothing. ;_; Well, in my opinion this H&M is better than the ones that I have been to. Their selection is not as good as Beverly Center or Sunset location, this having been said if you have a date or need a dress for a function this is a good place to go. This review is for the service only. There may be nicer staff in the store but it wasn't the case for me today. I happened to be served by a female staff, who was giving me an attitude for returning merchandise (?!). She was rolling her eyes and dropped my paper bag on the floor. She didn't even bother to pick up the bag ?! Later on she just commanded me like "do you have your credit card blabla? Keep it outside". When I asked her a question she had this" dead fish" facial expression. Then ... she rolled her eyes (again) what kind of service is this?? C'mon you are getting paid to do this job. I understand that she gets paid minimum wage but she chose to work there right? So please do me a favor and don't pour your hater and bad attitude against your customers. I had a horrific experience here with the fitting room attendant on March 24, 2014 around 7pm. Marlenie, a shorter girl in her 20s with dark skin and thick long dark hair, accused me of stealing. Marlenie's rudeness and disrespect toward me were appalling and degrading. I had never been treated so horribly and offended so directly at a well-known store. I had exited the fitting room with two tops and a bra, then put the no-go clothes back on the racks myself because she was nowhere to be found. Marlenie later chased me down and said she found a lone tag in my dressing room, leading her to accuse me of stealing the top I was wearing (it was an H&M shirt I bought online four months ago). She said, "I check every single room before someone comes in and I did not see this tag before you walked in. You did not have that bra; you took that shirt." My sister who was there the whole time vouched for me and Marlenie denied, "No, you didn't!" She clearly did not see what I was wearing when I walked in and did not care to look at the items I brought in. I proceeded to show her the email receipt on my phone, proving I purchased the top I was wearing, but she refused to look, calling her manager, a redheaded man with a long beard and black beanie named Eric, who told me, "I am not allowed to check your bag in the store, so we will let you slide this time." I was shocked and disgusted. I was kind enough to inform and teach Eric about the unacceptable nature of both his and Marlenie's nasty accusatory attitude. Eric apologized, and I hope to believe this incident a slip of judgment rather than a reflection of employee character, but if it happens again, I will report it to the big guys. That aside, H&M still gets the one star for the inexpensive and sometimes flattering clothes I buy. read more

I can take or leave the clothes, but if H&M will allow it I would like to set up bivouac in one of the fitting rooms. Even if for just a couple hours a month. Kind of like a tanning booth. It's cramped and sterile, yes, but the forgiving lighting/most likely intensely slimming mirror do amazing things for my self esteem. You guys, I look really good in there. Like dance around in your underwear in front of a three-way mirror good. I didn't think it was possible. This used to be one of the better H&M's in the OC area, but now the store seems to have fallen off its high pedestal. H&M is everywhere and now they are designed bigger and better than this older, Irvine location. Like all of the other stores, this one is also separated by gender-- with the women's section being the larger of the two (of course!). The dressing rooms are usually unattended, so that's nice if you want to just go in and try on a few things without asking someone to open a room for you. As far as selection goes, this one isn't very stocked. I would probably head over to South Coast Plaza, as they have a better selection of sizes and styles-- especially if you are looking for something in particular. However if you are just browsing, this location is not half bad. Also, expect a long check out line as they usually only have person at the register, even on a weekend afternoon. Not cool. The best part: 15% off your ENTIRE purchase when you show your student ID! Now, I can dig that. read more

Yay for H&M arriving in Irvine!! It's now open in Spectrum and has both men's and women's clothing. There is a good variety and I love the prices for the quality of clothes!! They have clothes that range from casual to dressy depending on what you like. The sizes run small for men and women so don't freak if you have to grab a larger size. I just love to come here and shop for clothes because the prices are so reasonable and fashionable!! I know that my bank account is suffering but oh does my wardobe thank you so much!! read more

So I bought a ton of stuff online and went to return most of it in-store. The person initially helping me out kept missing items for my return. So he at first said my refund was going to be $70 less than it should be. I had to say no, we are going through the entire return. Even when I read off every part to him, he somehow still missed something, because the return was now $40 less than what I expected it to be. We stood there for more than 30 mins going back and forth as he tried to figure out what he missed and he couldn't navigate the system very efficiently, so I definitely thought hope was lost. Thankfully he was nice, and he kept thanking me for my patience, so that made the entire process bearable at least, then finally the manager saw the length of time that had passed and took over. Thank you AJ!!! AJ did it accurately and quickly. He was able to find the missing item and quickly gave me my refund and reassurances about other things. H&M online ordering actually charged me for an item they didn't ship me, so AJ confirmed that to be true and reminded me to contact Customer Support for online services. AJ is the best, I will definitely come back to this store for returns. I was so scared that I wouldn't get my proper amount refunded to me due to the first rep, plus online store overcharging me, all this was building up to a very negative picture of H&M. AJ rebuilt the confidence in me for this brand, I will definitely keep being a customer, and especially at this location. read more

Although I love H&M overseas and in New York, this one was a bit disappointing. The store is super crowded with long lines (both for the fitting rooms and at the register). Hopefully that will improve once the novelty wears off. Also, the dressing rooms are so hot that you just get annoyed while trying things on and want to get the heck out of there as soon as possible. The staff members working in the fitting rooms are not very friendly, but the people working at the register are much better. If you're not used to H&M sizing, don't worry...you didn't gain weight, their sizes run small. For the numbered sizes, go up about 2-4 sizes from what you normally wear. read more

I was just there few hours ago (before 8pm) with my 7 year old son... I purchased only one blue dress. There were so many things that were going through my mind at that time, I didnt realize until I got home, the cashier overcharged me for three other clothings that I didn't t purchase nor have it in my position. As I am writing this, I remember, there was a lady before me who wanted to purchase few clothings but none of her cards worked, so she walked away... then, the cashier said, "next customer please." He scanned the blue dress I purchased. (I remember his name but I just dont want to write it. I believed he is Caucasian around 5'8 or 5'10 with black eye glasses and facial hair). Low and behold, this cashier charged the other lady's clothing in my card along with my clothing. Definitely going back there tomorrow to settle this once they open....they can even checked their camera if they don't believe me. I know its fourth of July weekend maybe his mind is somewhere else but what happened to protecting your customers? Not good. I rarely purchased stuff from H&M and this happened. I just want to return this dress now and get all my money back. 7/4/15 around 1048. Returned my one purchase... Got all my money back. Went in there, with a clear mind...I told the cashier today of the above information. He is Asian, 5'5 or 5'6 in height, Small body frame and hair above his shoulder, As I was returning the dress, this cashier had the audacity to asked me as if I committed a fraud or doing some sort of scam. He asked, "Are you sure...you didnt purchase these other clothes?" Repeatedly. I was baffled of how unprofessional he is. Wrong choice of words. Poor customer service. The other cashier who heard what is going on...Caucasian female, long brown hair, and petite. ..told my cashier to "call Linda." I believed she is the manager. I told her what's what happened, "she added, I believe he is here today ( cashier from last night)." I even told them, if you dont believe me, check your camera. Minutes later, came back and settled the problem. Linda, she is professional. She finds the solution of the problem immediately instead of making comments to the customer. Yes, this place has good affordable clothing but the customer service is purely lacking. I gave it a D. Now, I know why ...one of the reviews were "Worst Customer Service." The first cashier was careless. The second cashier, because of his statement, "I find him rude and unprofessional even though he was trying his very best to make the bad experience into a good one. When I found out that they were adding an H&M to the spectrum, I jumped for joy! I really like going to H&M for cheap work clothes and comfy clothes to wear on the weekend. Its never very crowded at this H&M (the ones in DC and SF are always sooooo crazy!). I am really glad that there are H&Ms in Orange County and hopefully the will add some in San Diego soon! read more

If I could give this place a negative star I would. Return policy is crummy. They will only return $ to your credit card if you have the receipt & only for what the item costs at the time. I.e. You spend $100 but you only get back $50 cause the clothes are now on sale - Really?! Just bad business, and for that I will never buy clothes from H&M again. read more

The customer service is horrible, in the store and online. I ordered a top online and 4 days later, I received an email stating it is on it's way with a tracking number. There is NO link to track the package and when I called their customer service number, I get a recording that the verizon customer is not available. When I tried to "chat" on their site, the chat box disappears while I'm typing. When I have shopped at one of the San Diego locations, there is never enough staff at the cash registers and lines are always long, and it's difficult to find anyone to help you in the store. I've stopped shopping in the store and now I will stop shopping online. read more

H&M (for me) stands for "Hit and Miss." It would really be "Hit or Miss" but that wouldn't jive with the store name. Unlike that other store at the Spectrum that just had a major remodel, I give H&M 2 thumbs up for having sizes that fit us "real" women - curves and all. I was browsing the racks yesterday and was pleased that there was a really good selection of not-going-out-of-style tomorrow clothes. I like the career clothes especially. They have a classic look without breaking my direct deposit. I like this location because it doesn't make me feel claustrophobic and it's right by the Target. The dressing rooms, on the other hand, aren't the most spacious... as if having mirrors in front and behind me isn't bad enough... Sigh... To be 5'0" and weigh under 100 lbs. But I digress... Although 80% of the time I walk out of there empty-handed, thank you H&M for making me believe I'm not a total lard arse. read more

I hate to be a debbie downer, especially when it comes to mass mainstream retail, but really: I've experienced better. Why is this, you might ask? Well, for starters - consider the location. The Irvine Spectrum is a mecca for tweens, 20-somethings, families and during the weeknights, busy professionals. What this means is that you will probably not find your size if you are 1) Asian, 2) Female, 3) A size 2-6. This is because if the asians haven't already plundered through the new good stuff and beat you to it, then the tweens probably have. And I can say that being a 20-something Asian female who is anywhere between a size 2-6 (mercilessly depending on the time of day and year). What's more is that customer service can be hit or miss. One day, a great (fabulous) guy might help and give you his 110%. While any other day, some lucklaster-angst-yet-emo 19 year-old girl may tell you that she couldn't really find your size...a shocker since she was gone all of 10 seconds trying to find it. Again, not to be hater because H&M can be a great place to find deals especially for accessories. Here, expect it to be hit or miss. If you really want to find your size (and more variety and selection), then go to South Coast Plaza, but not the main mall, the secondary mall (with Macy's Home, Crate & Barrel, etc). Their H&M is larger, less crowded and also has a men's section. read more

This place gets really busy on the weekends - the trick is not to go at those times, and your shopping experience here is quite enjoyable. Tuesday 11am - understaffed meant no help at change rooms and long line at register, cluttered and disorganized displays, really dirty change rooms including chewed gum stuck in random places. Since pricing is hard to beat, its better to just order online and exchange here if needed. read more

Specifically Arum and Veronica did an incredible job handling the rudest woman I've ever witnessed in my life. She was clearly a very bitter, angry person by nature, but there was absolutely no excuse for the inhumane and ridiculous way she spoke to the employees here. The H&M's on the West Coast have consistently failed me in the past. Sure, I may have picked up a scarf or a top here and there, but I can never find anything as fashion-forward and enticing as I have in [say] NYC. Fast forward to this past week, when my lil bro (19) needs my help picking an outfit for Valentine's Day. After scoring a great blazer at F21, being disappointed by U.O. and out-priced at Metro Park, we venture to H&M at the end of the Spectrum. SCORE!!! Lil bro snags an amazing graphic tee ($12.99), great dark rinse jeans ($39.99), a cool metro/urban scarf ($7.99), sharp striped sweater, and a hip button-down. All age appropriate, cool, and mix-n-match like a college kid would. Grand total UNDER $130 from H&M. I am beyond pleased! The mens section, though a fraction of the womens size, proved to be more well-edited and rewarding. That's not to say I didn't make out with anything.... :) I DID! a swanky cool t-shirt dress with embellishment and a couple of statement tops, and a FREE magazine with actually some really great reads and pictorials.
