this Review's punctuation is a shout-out to Ivy W. I went here this past weekend and was not very impressed by this location. The entire floor plan is like a cluster-f**k. You feel like an ant in an ant farm. I couldn't even get the stroller through some aisles. On top of that, the fitting room had a line longer than one at Forever 21 on the eve of a high school dance. The stock was thin and it seems like you need to pick a number to get help. All in all, not a very good experience, but we shall see next time. read more

Needed to return a few items I bought for an interview that I no longer needed. Luckily the line was short and I was able to get my items returned with no issues. I used to shop at this H&M quite a bit, then I had an issue with the quality of the clothes. It just felt a little too Forever 21ish to me. I was in a pinch and needed a dress to wear to the company holiday party so I decided to pop in to H&M to see what was poppin. The quality of the clothes was definitely a lot better and I was able to find a ton of options. I got a dress and matching accessories for well under what I wanted to spend on an outfit for that event. I will warn you that if you're the type of shopper that likes to plunge in, find a few pieces and get out (mostly people that hate shopping) this isn't the store for you. There is so much merchandise that it's impossible to see everything unless you give yourself a good hour or so to look around, make decisions, then look around again to make more decisions. My biggest problem with this store is with the staff. I went on a Saturday morning and they were definitely not busy. The girl in the fitting room was ok. She wasn't amazing but she wasn't awful. However, finding someone to ring me up was like pulling teeth. Oh, and how dare I try to make small talk with the cashier? I think I like H&M again, just not this one. read more

This location was kind of a let down for me. It was smaller then the Costa Mesa Location and they didn't seem to have as much variety as there other stores as well. I didn't find anything that i liked here nor have i seen anything that i thought was cool here. I probably won't go back to the spectrum for this store but I'll give it another chance and see if they've gotten anything better in stock next time. read more

I won't be shopping at this location again. Went in last night with my sister. She was going to buy a zip up jacket from the men's section where all jackets and coats were 30% off. We get up to the register to buy it and the dude working is, sorry to say, just your typical bro who was probably wanting any kind of job available. He rings it up and it's not 30% off and my sister says "wait, all jackets are 30% off, this is a jacket..." and he goes "NO, this is a HOODIE." Not sure why it was so frustrating, but at this point I'm venting because this guy was such a jerk. A jacket, in my opinion, has a zipper. A coat has a zipper. A hoodie is like a sweatshirt you pull over. Maybe you don't have the authority to ring up a JACKET with a small little added discount, we all know you get 20% off an item when you sign up for their email, so why not get the purchase rather than having a customer walk away? STUPID. Customer service with their one employee was disgusting. Experiences like this really turn me off from a store. It doesn't take much. read more

Finally! There's always a ton of people in the shop, but the store carries a great selection (mens, womens, work attire, fun, casual, swimwear, accessores etc.) The only downer is the LOOONNNNG line for the dressing room. But you can do what half of the people do-- try the clothes OVER what you're wearing in front of an open mirror (which you have to kinda fight for). read more

Backstory: I hate dressing myself. I'm terrible at it. Mostly cause I was overweight, and I would get discourage when nothing fit. I even held on to a giftcard for 3 years, telling myself I wouldn't go until I lost weight! Well I recently lost some major weight and I needed a dress for a wedding (Perfect timing!). I went in there and just grabbed the first thing I saw (blue dress). I wanted some sort of jacket I could wear with the dress. So I saw an H&M employee and asked her for help. She was more then delighted. There's nothing I appreciate more then someone willing to help me out with shopping. I'm so insecure about what looks good and what doesn't. It's helpful to get other people's opinions. Even the girl running the dressing room was helpful! Oh and I can't forget about the cashier! I really hate shopping, but this was the first time it was enjoyable. Thank you to those three girls who made me feel good about myself and made shopping easy for once! I know it's hard to keep a positive happy attitude and make it sincere when you deal with the general public. But nothing beats great customer service, it makes an impression! Huge shout out to Ash- he literally has restored my hope for humanity during these crazy times! I left a very special personal photo book on one of the racks and ordinarily it would have been picked up and trashed I'm sure. This angel Ash however picked it up, submitted it into the lost and found which had to be shipped to the Chino warehouse, where another H&M angel Michelle retrieved it and sought out the rightful owner aka me and shipped it back to Ash so I can retrieve it! Huge selection, and they even had a sale rack! Discounted items AND they were BOGO! I guess it was only this week. I love the fact that they have plain clothes that are cheap but they look nice as well. Their selection spread through all over and the fact that they put different signs telling which gender's things were there helped me figure out what I should get and what I could not get. Their employees were nice at the register, but I do wish someone could have helped me out while I was choosing my clothes. read more

Stopped in at this location today and does this one have a great selection or what! I was impressed to see a fairly good amount of items on sale for super reasonable prices. I found a lot of stuff but alas I needed to watch my spending... I found an adorable blue plaid button down short sleeved shirt for $5... $5?! I had to buy it. Not only did it look great with my black skinny jeans but I needed a fresh new button down shirt and $5 was definitely in my budget. The rest of the stuff I wanted wasn't on sale but they were all pretty inexpensive. I think I might have to go back for this sweet strapless dress that- wait I'm sorry.. I got distracted. Honestly I'd hit up this one instead of the South Coast location. While the service is literally the same [don't expect a lot of customer service] this one seems to be much better organized and with a better selection in clothing. read more

If you live in the OC area, H&M is a real treat! There are 3 locations of H&M (one is a women's store only) so if you can't find your size in one, you can just hop over to the next one! The quality of the clothing is good, you can try on as many items as you want (and they have adjustable mirrors in the dressing rooms!), and it won't hurt your wallet! I don't have any big cons about this place, but since there are 3 stores in the same area, you're bound to find someone wearing the same thing you bought. Wearing the item the same day as you - not as likely. read more

Layout of the store is great and there are a variety of clothing/accessories/handbags/shoes. This is what I usually expect out of H&M anyways, so I liked this store. BUT, I think they should hire more sales associates to organize the racks more. I'm holding like 5-6 hangers of clothes and trying to dig for more clothes, but the clothes hangers are so damn messy in the racks that I just gave up-_- Another problem is the customer service. WHERE are the workers? Maybe they're there, but they should stand out more since they just blend in with the clothes... But I like being welcomed in clothing stores, you know? sigh, whatevs. I still like H&M though. read more

If you are a woman, great. Shop here. They have a decent selection. If you're a guy, good luck trying to find your size. They don't really have a great size run going, most of the items are larges, xlarge, or double x... actually.. come to think of it... I don't think that they have double x... I suppose that just goes to show how fat America is... (no offense... but I mean... the average size of the American woman is a size 14... like I said, no offense, but feel free to privately message me if I have offended you). Like I said, the size run selection for this particular location isn't that great. On top of that, they don't usually have all the colors or all the selections for the particular season. I'd have to go to the SCP location. Which I do. So yeah, come here if you're in Irvine... I come here when I'm at the Spectrum and I'm bored. Seriously. I'm there like... every week. Just browsing. OH well... I did bring my sister here once and I dressed her up really nice with the selections they had. I could be a great stylist. An excellent place for low rent wares. To be fair two of my favorite suits are from here. My recommendation is to buy a suit from here and wear the hell out of it. I have a few very nice designer brand suits in my closet that i am terrified of ruining or staining. H&M suits do not have this problem. I ride my bike in them. Go to the beach in them. Skateboard in them. Garden in them. I sometimes even paint in them and, you know what, I don't care if it gets messed up because at that point I have extracted every penny of value out of it. The sizes and cuts are very inconsistent between items so try things on. read more

I came here after being impressed by an H+M store in SF. Armed with $50 in Spectrum gift certificates, I was fully prepared to walk out with some new, stylish clothes of questionable quality. But when I walked in, I was floored by how long the line was. On a weekday afternoon. The queue traversed the whole store, and must have been over 30 people long. Uh, no thanks. The men's section is quite a bit smaller than the SF-Powell Street location near Union Square. Perhaps that's to be expected, but I was a bit disappointed. I ended up buying some more expensive, less stylish clothing at nearby (deserted) Macy's, but I might go back to H+M if the service actually improves. Unfortunately, the place is so popular that I doubt that the company will find the motivation to improve its service. read more

H&M has the trendy gotta-have pieces at low prices. You definitely get what you pay for, but you know what, I'd rather get one or two trendy pieces here than to spend my entire paycheck on one uber expensive piece at a designer store. H&M helps me stretch my wallet and look great at the same time. This location is convenient to work and carries womens' and mens' lines. It's less busy than the South Coast location whenever I'm there but can be hard to get to if you park on the wrong side of the Spectrum. It's near the Target and Nordstrom if you're wondering. If you get the iPhone app, you'll get a 20% off coupon off one item of your choice. H&M isn't for everyone, but it's definitely for me. read more

I really want to like H&M and be able to buy cute clothes at great prices, but I just haven't found anything here I like. I looked again today and found some tops to try on, but they looked terrible when I put them on and didn't fit well at all. Tell me Yelpers, am I doing something wrong? Are other locations better? I've seen people on What Not to Wear go into the H&M in NYC and come out with bags and bags of clothes, shoes, and accessories, but I still haven't bought one single item from this H&M in the Spectrum. I prefer this H&M over the south coast location which is split in half. If I'm looking to change up my work wear in a jiffy I can do it here with out trying to remember which H&M at south coast I need to go to. The prices are good and clothes are basic essentials --- haven't seen the same quality problem I have with forever 21 clothes. Only downside is EVERYONE and their MOM's go to this store so I wouldn't suggest this place if you're trying to be 'unique'. But for an essentials store (need clubbing wear? need work clothes? ) or 'i have a wedding to go to tomorrow and need something fancy but not overpriced' or 'i need a hoodie sweater plain and black' this place does the trick. (by the by.. I don't know if it's regional or what but the NY H&M I went to had a GREAT selection. The 2 work shirts I bought there for $12 each are my favorites.. probably because they're not carried at the CA H&M's) read more

I am somewhat not surprised by the low score of this establishment. I went the H&M Costa Mesa to buy a tee-shirt on sale, but the XL size is not available. They told me I can get the same XL tee-shirt at H&M Irvine Spectrum for $6.99. When I arrived at H&M Irvine Spectrum, they jack the price to $12.99. Of course, I did not buy it. I am giving both H&M at Irvine Spectrum and Costa Mesa with a ONE score when they have unfairly priced the same item $6 more than they should when I arrived at H&M Irvine Spectrum. It seems evil corporate America wins. I am very sure someone will buy the tee-shirt at full-price. read more

This is specific to the store at Irvine Spectrum. The new giant sized one. First of all, while the store looks nice and all, I found it nearly impossible to find any women's clothing larger than a size 0 or 2. Racks and racks of size 0, 2, and the occasional 4. Being a size 8 or 10, I felt like a hippo around all these tiny items. Great. But that isn't the worst of it. For all the space that they now have, they only have one fitting room (at least on the first floor). A shared room for guys and gals. Completely shared, with only curtains instead of doors. So, as I am trying on one of the only potential pairs of pants I could find, some guy just pulls the curtain of my dressing stall open, exposing my enormous size-8 backside to the world. He muttered some excuse/apology and walked away (without closing the curtain again). I made a comment to the fitting room attendant that perhaps they should watch more closely to help prevent this, and she just gave me a look of disdain and said she didn't see it because she was helping someone else. (I was in the first stall next to her!) Needless to say, I won't be going back to that H&M! read more

H&M is one of my favorite stores for a quick inexpensive fashion fix. Some of their clothes are good quality but most are not. So if you want fashion for less this is a great store. Their sizes run very small compared to US sizes so keep that in mind when you shop here. Best time to shop for fashion clothes here is at the beginning of a season, they bring in new merchandise early even before the season starts and you have lots of choices at that time, they also have great discounts on the previous season clothes. read more

I'd like to give this 4 stars but I cannot as they seem to have zero clothes in extra large...what gives? I'm not asking for larger than that. Good selection of cheap trendy clothes, so good for teenagers and young adults. This H&M is located at the crappy end of Spectrum, where there is little to no food traffic comparatively. They only have 1 counter to pay at and there appears to always be a line. They need more assistance and the shop can get really messy. Again, they need more workers. read more

Cheap prices, lots of selections, i don't agree they have clothes for women with curves! Popped in here cause so many people talk about how "totally awesome" H&M is. It seems a little like an Old Navy at first blush, everything tossed around and people rushing around. We found a couple things to worthy "to get undressed" to try them on. Alas nothing fit, the staff in the dressing room seemed a little frazzled and i'm not 100% confident in the quality of the clothing. H&M is one of my top stores for affordable Tee's and the occasional out of season sweater that's in the sale rack. I certainly think the South Coast Plaza has more variety but in terms of actually buying stuff I enjoy shopping here. [Customer Service] I noticed and read through a few reviews about the CS. Its true, the number of workers outnumber customers during heavier hours. I was at the cashier today and Jeff (trendy asian guy) helped me out. I was attempting to use my wrapp app to save some money but was too slow. He didn't rush me at all. In fact, I just took out my CC with my white flag of surrender when he was asked, "well, how about a student ID card?" FANTASTIC. I saved just 15%, but still! [Men's side] Usually stocked with dependable $5 colored Tees. No problems. I'd recommend checking in every other month for newer stuff or sales for the older stock. [Changing rooms] Clean & Plenty [Location] Its on the edge by Nordstroom and Target. So very accessible if you don't park in the garage or by the Edwards theater side. read more

Went here last night desperately seeking new clothes for my new job (all black, no sleeveless, black slacks, yikes!), and H&M was just the ticket. I took maybe 15 items into the fitting room, and although few of them fit, the two items I took with me, I was really excited about. I asked the employees a lot of questions and they were pretty helpful about answering them, although the employees in the fitting room were having a very loud conversation about travelling around the world, but none of it was inappropriate, so I didn't mind. It was interesting to listen to, at least. They have a girl from Sweden working there. I only knock one star off because I had three dysfunctional items in the fitting room. One dress with a button missing. One pair of pants with a button missing. And when I pulled a linen dress over my head, it ripped! And no, it was not too small. So while I agree that the quality at H&M is better than at Forever 21, it's not by much. When it comes to wanting good quality clothing for low prices, I usually find that Target is the best bet, not H&M. Honestly, I hesitate to shop at this H&M because I found to be the prices much lower in London. Some things that were marked at 7 GBP earlier this summer on Oxford Street were selling for $15. I know that's a minor difference, but the best example was this jacket I bought (who knew it would pour the whole week I was in London? I brought only summer clothes!) for 15 GBP was $35 here! With the prices lower in London, I am a little wary of thinking the prices are so low here stateside! The four stars are here because I managed to get a great top for work ($24.90) and a nice zippered cardigan for casual wear ($19.90). H&M has a lot of selection, although I would recommend visiting during the week when it's slower (it's a madhouse on the weekends!). I also think the store at South Coast Plaza is probably bigger, but I'm not sure. read more

Like those who have been to other H&M's, this H&M is only OK for me. The selection is a little smaller than some of the other ones. I really wish they had lingerie like the one at Union Square, but this is a small selection of men's clothes, a few collections of women's clothes and some accessories. The H&M prices are great - you can find t shirts for under 10 bucks here which are very stylish. There seems to be a lot of skinny jeans and retro 80s style on one side (leggings and baggy tops or things with skulls on them), while the other side is more chill and caters to professional women, I guess. It seems also like the SF location is a little more fashion-forward and this one has a little more "wearable" everyday stuff. I don't really think the clothes fit perfectly, or even great, but if you dig around and try a lot of things on, you can end up with a lot of great deals. read more

ALL H&M's are NOT created EQUAL. This one is one of the better ones, with the one at Planet Hollywood in Vegas being the WORST. I could spend every last dime I have at H&M lately. I love it there. I love their jeans, their tops, their accessories, its crazy. This one at the Spectrum is nice. I like the ones at South Coast.. but I like this one more. The one I like the MOST is at the Galleria at Tyler ( will do a seperate review ) they have kids clothes and their kids clothes are AMAZING. They also have maternity there. But the one at Spectrum is big. They have mens and womens clothes. The staff at all H&M's are pretty much the same. 20 something hipsters, too cool for school. Whatever. H&M is better now than its ever been in my opinion. It has been pretty hit and miss in the past and years prior, it was a MISS. But I find stuff EVERY time I go. I have recently purchased a VERY cute dress there for $5. Not on sale ( which they do have good sales ) regular price, and nice long Tees / Tunics for $5 as well. I am tall, and shirtts are never long enough, so while EVERYTHING runs insanely small at this store if I get a Small - the shirt is just fine as I think its actually a dress. Love it. Haven't ventured into the shoes there. Nor sunglasses.. but other accessories, jewelry, scarves, hair stuff - awesome. read more

I have had a decent experience at this H&M location until today. My sister liked a top that was on a mannequin so we looked around the store to find it before seeking someone to take it off the mannequin. When we asked a male associate (didn't get his name but he was wearing a cheetah print bucket hat today) he proceeded to tell my sister and I that if he took the shirt off the mannequin that we automatically had to buy it because taking it off was too much work to do. At first I thought he was joking but then he continued to say I'll take it off so you can get in line to pay for it and I'll have it at the register. We indeed did not buy the shirt and left upset that we were treated like this. Why would anyone buy anything without trying it on first to see if they like it? By far the worst encounter I've had with an associate at this location. To the male associate I hope you have the day you deserve. read more

What brought me to this store several years ago was the debut of a special line: MADONNA. . .& their ads in magazines waaayyyy before they came out to California. (Visited the busy N.Y. location prior to this one.) Soooooooooo. . .Yay! Talk about extra cool having a Madonna label =) Wish I bought more. For some reason, I was thinkin' that her line was gonna be there on a regular basis. Anyway, although I have yet to go on a shopping spree here, they actually have reasonably priced, inexpensive clothing & accessories. It's great to know there's a store like this in the neighborhood. This locale is convenient, too, when you need to run in & look for something quick as the parking lot is nearby. And if you don't get lucky here. . .walk over to Forever 21. Or there's always Nordstrom's on the way out. And Target amongst other shops. Happy Shopping! read more

I can't believe I am reviewing an H&M because an H&M is an H&M right, or are they? Well I've only gone to two H&M's before, this store and the store at South Coast Plaza's and I have to say I like this H&M best. They just seem to stock a lot more clothing and I am able to find everything in my size. I also find the H&M store in South Coast Plaza to be too cramped and crowded and the floor plan at this H&M is a lot more easy to manage walking rack to rack without getting burnt out on the clutteredness of SCP's store. I cannot go in this store and come out empty handed. I always find at least a couple things I want. The prices are really awesome and you are guaranteed to find the latest fashion trends. Now when I go to any other store and see something I like, I think about how I could probably find it at H&M for less and I usually do. I also find the quality of the clothes to be good unlike some of the clothing at Forever 21 I've had fall apart after wearing twice. I have several pairs of skinny jeans I wear on a regular basis, ride my horse in and they are holding up as good as new. Usually every other Friday (payday!) you can find me in this H&M store. read more

I found thin belts for my mother here. I went in here looking for cute fuzzy mittens or nice pajamas and was let down. They don't carry a variety of lacy underthings like the San Francisco stores. They stock reasonable priced socks that I throw away when I don't have time to do the laundry while on a multi-week European trip. To my ex-boyfriend's disappointment there is no men's section to browse/wait in. read more

H&M Is great for affordable, minute-by-minute trend following clothes. I am a big fan of their accessories and their sales sections as well. Items are cute in a modern and trendy way and are usually designed well - but fair warning, you shouldn't buy here hoping to have the item forever. Fabrics are on the cheap side, things run small and short (i.e. dresses), and tend to be good for about 2-3 uses... similar to Forever 21 but maybe a touch better. The brand is worldwide so can be great for bringing European trends to the US so keep an eye on their fashions if you are into keeping up with fashion trends... I think that is probably most of the reason why their products don't last forever - they're really only supposed to last until the next season's offerings! lol What's good about this brand is that it is good for basics like yoga pants and tank tops as well as business casual slacks/blouses and on trend, youthful dresses for nights out or picnics. They have a fair section of men's clothes as well which are sort of between preppy and edgy. They offer a lot but it also changes often so if you like what you see, get it! It could be gone the next day. I also love their sales but since things are already kind of cheap, they can be damaged & etc so make sure to look the item over and even try it on just to make sure there are no flaws. Parking is pretty easy for this place as well - Its on the 405 side of the spectrum next to Nordstroms so you can either park in the street parking just outside the store or in the structure. read more

Can't believe I waited in line to get in when this location opened. I apparently like to wait in lines for unnecessary things. Directions: Stay on your left as you enter the store and walk towards the back on the store; the men's section is in a seperate room. There's no young men's at this location which cuts selection down considerably. I think they made this department smaller because there's the bigger location at south coast you can go to. I love H&M and this is a pretty big branch! The staff isn't always the friendliest... but if you ask them for something they will carry through (not always with a smile). As far as customer service, it's really just hit or miss, I guess. This is the only H&M I have been to recently that has the For Water swim wear collection! there was a shirt left on a mannequin and we asked an associate named kirby abs he was very short with us and rude. the shirt was the last one and he said we couldn't buy it and just walked away from us. He didn't seem interested in helping us at all and then we found out he is a manager, he has terrible mannerisms for a manager. Seems like he hates his job, it's ridiculous that we couldn't purchase the shirt off the mannequin as it being the last one. read more
