H2O is a great nail spa that just happens to be conveniently located across form where I work! Therefore it makes it easy for a quick lunch time mani/pedi. I went this afternoon and had a great experience, they were super great about getting me out on time and within and hour (they did my mani and pedi at the same time-- talk about multi-tasking!) I use to work across the street from this nail spa which is how I found it. I no longer work in the area but I like this place so much that I literally travel miles to get my nails done there. They do the best job, they keep the place very clean and I find all the staff to be friendly. I saw other comments that said the staff was rude but don't believe that. I am new to the Chicago area and was very sad to leave my previous nail salon, they treated me like family so needless to say this new salon had big shoes to fill. They definitely filled them with grace! I walked there in the heat of the day so I looked a hot mess when I finally made it in. The place was super clean and very well priced. The young woman, obviously noting my sweating face sat me down and immediately brought me a cold glass of water. They were very friendly and the best part, they spoke completely in english so I didn't have to wonder if they were talking about me! Even though I live in the South Loop - this is my go-to nail salon. Was recommended to me by a friend who lives in the area. Street parking is usually available if I drive and easy access by bus. The place is VERY clean and it's a nice, relaxing, and quiet atmosphere. No appointment needed and my last two visits, I have ended up with Candy. She is very nice, takes her time and does a great job. I've observed the other techs and I would not mind seeing them if ever Candy is not available. Unlike other nail salons like some in the Loop, H20 is not overly crowded and they don't make you feel like they are rushing you out of there. Staff is very friendly and never makes you feel uncomfortable or that they are talking about you. Chairs are super comfy for pedicures and service ends with a very nice massage while you are sitting under the driers. read more

I've been going to this nail salon for quite sometime now. As soon as you enter the place, you know it has chic look. Its clean and organized. They have a big selection of nail colors, which is great. My nails come out great every time. They make sure you're satisfied and get what you want. They're very accommodating! I've had some indecisiveness moments where I would want a mani in the last minute and they would accommodate that if there are no customers waiting. Always a good experience! A hidden gem! I have had some really bad nail salon experiences in River North/West Loop and when a girlfriend and I decided to meet up on Saturday for pedis I picked H2O solely based on Yelp reviews. Thanks, Yelpers! The place is cute and clean, the staff is friendly, and the prices were decent. I knew it was on the smaller side so I made appointments for us, but the place was actually empty until a few other girls popped in closer to noon. I hope that means they are more of a weekday spot and not that business is bad-- because I will be back next month for another pedi! read more

Nice looking place but get fool, the service is awful! I was the only one there at 10am on Friday morning and had not 1 but 2 tech working on my nails.... Full set took 2 1/2 hours and the outcome was awful, and they still had the guts to charge $50 for full set..... Again awful save your money and your time....... read more

I work across the street and some coworkers recommended it. I went there last Sat for the no chip manicure. I had a different type of no chip on, so they had to file off that one. They cut my hand with the file doing it. They said the no chip would last 2 weeks, it barely lasted a week. The Axxum OPI one I had on previously lasted 3 weeks. Also, the pedi/massage chair was broken. I kept telling them and all they did wasl laugh at the grinding noises it was making. I couldnt really get up and move since it was mid pedi. I will say, it is a very clean salon. If you want the $35 mani/pedi special, then this is your place. read more

I'm pretty picky about my nail places. Most of the asian nail salons I've gone to in Chicago have been dirty. This place is clean, the workers are friendly and they always make a point to fit you in regardless if you have an appointment or not. They've got really comfy massage chairs for pedicures and lots of great reading material to pass the time. They also have a frequent visit card and after a number of visits, you get a free mani/pedi. I must be a glutton for punishment because I keep giving it a try. It's just so close and convenient! Unfortunately, it is always a horrible experience. Appointment or not, busy or empty, they always seem completely irritated by customers. I stopped in last week during the middle of the day of a work day. It was completely empty. The girl did my nails in 12 minutes and it was painful! She hacked at my cuticles and the arm "massage" felt like abuse. After painfully rushing my manicure, she just sat down and got on her cell phone again. The easiest way to not be annoyed by customers is to have horrible customer service so we don't come back! I've been here three times now because it's so convenient to my office, but my nails have been thoroughly destroyed by their "manicures." I've been getting no-chip manis for years now and my nails were healthy and strong. But for some reason, the techs at this salon don't know how to get polish off properly! They'll let my nails soak, but then, any polish that was left on my nails, they peeled off taking parts of my nail with the polish, OR even worse- they filed the polish off- to the point that my nails are so thin, they are bright red and hurt to touch! And i'm not talking about just the tips of my nails, i mean th ewhole nail bed is red and thin so there's almost no nail covering the bed. Also, once my nails were thin and brittle they began to crack and instead of just cutting the nail, they would use acrylic glue to glue the cracked nail back together and then paint over it! Basically, my nails have now fallen apart. They are so short they hurt and my nail is cracked even further down than I can cut. Plus, they're still so thin that they're sore. The pain isn't worth the convenience. I DO NOT recommend them at all. read more

Best nail spa ever. It is super clean, the staff is very nice, and the manicures and pedicures are great. In addition to the standards you get with a mani and pedi, they use hot towels on your hands and feet and give you a mini shoulder/neck massage while your nails are drying. They are extremely meticulous about getting every last bit of skin or edge off your nalis. They are also inexpensive ($40 for a mani/pedi) and offer a frequent customer card that gives a free mani/pedi after 7 visits. Love it!! read more

He took forever to do my pedicure, so long that another lady had to do my manicure while I was sitting on the pedicure chair! And after what seemed like hours, the pedicure wasn't even that great! This place only gets 2 stars because it is clean and because they use a hot towel during your mani/pedi. However, the actual manicure and pedicure is awful. One of the women there does such a terrible job that it looks like a child painted my nails. If you must go, I would try to get the owner to do your nails. (He is the only male there).
