This bar is uniquely tucked away on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom across from the Top Shop section. It is a perfect pit stop for shoppers, significant others and even children in tow! They have a full bar, bar stools, high top tables and even lounge chairs with small tables perfect for pulling a stroller up to. They offer happy hour with a $5 small bites menu and drink specials. We ordered one of everything on the small bites menu and they did not disappoint. The food comes from the restaurant Ruscello's kitchen upstairs, which I also recommend. Before the pandemic, I'd hit up Habitant once (sometimes twice a week). The bartenders were all nice and laid-back. The environment was cozy and unpretentious. Located in the new Nordstrom on the second floor which offers unique contemporary mixed drinks with a limited tapas menu. I actually quite enjoyed our experience here seeing a lot of the drinks I enjoyed on the mainland with a local twist! There needs to be more bars that use St. Germaine in their cocktails in Hawaii! I ordered the meatballs with grilled bread and I quite enjoyed that meal! What really stood out with this dish was the grill flavor in the sliced bread which made the dish perfect. Sauce was a bit on the salty side but paired with the bread, it was well balanced. The meatballs were tender and juicy and very flavorful, I'd definitely eat this again. I also tried the hummus, but there isn't much to say about this. Was okay, not the best and could have been better. If your friends are in town and you are looking for a place to sit, catch up and have a few drinks and small bites, Habitant should be on the list of places to do just this! read more

Came here to kill some time. The drinks here are pretty good and the tacos were delicious. It comes with 4 small hard tacos that I shared with my fiancé. I would recommend the tacos if you want something light and fresh to just satisfy your hunger. I ate two of the tacos and it was perfect to help satisfy my hunger until dinner time! My mom and I had intended to eat at Nordstrom Cafe, but we were in a rush and the line was too long. Instead, we went downstairs to try Habitant, and we weren't disappointed. First of all, what a brilliant concept. Habitant is basically a classy sports bar in the middle of Nordstrom, perfect for for the husband who was dragged along to carry bags. Here, he can grab a drink, or shoppers like my mom and I can stop for a quick bite. Habitant carries a limited menu of food served at Nordstrom Cafe. In fact, all the food is cooked in the Nordstrom Cafe kitchen and brought down on covered trays by Habitant staff. Because of this system, I had thought that the food might take longer to come out, but our food came out quickly and was great. We ordered the chicken tacos and the bruschetta. The tacos were some of the tastiest tacos I've had in Hawaii. I've been living in California, so it's hard to find Mexican food that compares, however, I was extremely satisfied by these tacos. The plate came with 4 street sized tacos, and if I wasn't sharing, that would have been enough for me. The bruschetta came out crostini style with mushrooms, blue cheese, balsamic and arugula on top. These were also tasty, but I still prefered the tacos. The staff worked hard to make sure all their customers were attended to, and overall, it was a fun and tasty dining experience. I enjoyed the wings, which are totally different that anything I have ever tasted, and the prosciutto grill cheese were to die for. Brilliant idea. Let's put a bar in the middle of the women's area of a department store and serve drinks and small plates. Maybe men will start going with their female companions to shop if they can watch the game while sipping on a cold beer or cocktail? Well, it can be tricky to get a spot at times, but it is serving up a simple menu and pretty awesome cocktails. It isn't wide spread, but it is serving up a decent selection that will keep your non-shoppers amused and satiated while you get to peruse the selection nearby. The drinks are a tad pricey, but isn't that $14 cocktail worth it if they get you that Gucci bag or perhaps those Prada shoes? If not, the service is worth it and it is a nice spot to sit and relax while catching up with friend. First off, genius concept, Nordstrom! A bar with small plate tapas and Ruscello takeout, in the womens' department, showing ESPN - perfect to entertain men while their women spend more without being rushed. I was checking out the new Nordis, sad to discover my Nordstrom cafe was not carbon copied and the wait for a table of 1 was 30 min. No digs on Ruscello, but I was starving and had a limited amount of time so I went back downstairs to have a bite at Habitant. I am a HUGE sparkling water addict so I am SO thrilled that they serve it as a complimentary option. That alone will bring me back! Service was very friendly, attentive, yet had that "cool man bar" feel. (I'm guessing anyway, I am a chick, but I was impressed.) Ordered the meatballs which were delicious, moist, and perfectly cooked. It really is small plate/tapas style so if you're thinking lunch you might want to check out the takeout menu. Takeout is actually delivered by a human carrying domed dishes from upstairs, seemingly very inefficient yet from what I observed it worked nicely. I'd definitely return. read more

Stopped in here real quick after shopping in the mall. Had no idea there was a bar here, but it was pretty awesome. Great music plus really good drinks and friendly staff. Somehow the ambiance was perfect without being too loud or interfering with the shoppers. They make one hell of a Moscow Mule; highly recommended. Checked this place out with my friends last night. So, it's a galley bar on the 2nd floor, in the middle of women's section, a good way to have the non-shoppers entertained while the companions gleefully shop to their hearts content or a welcome respite if you got your shopping game on. Since there were the four of us we sat at the "party" table (community table), I think seats 10 people max. I tried the Cocnut Grove (monkey shoulder scotch whiskey, lilet blanc, coconut, fresh lime and orange juices), that was a mistake. The drink did have a kick but it tasted weird, maybe the scotch and coconut didn't go well or maybe to much citrus or something, bottom line I wasn't a fan and despite that I did drink it all because I'm not one to waste $11. Next I tried the Amelia (grey goose vodka, st germain cordial, fresh lemon juice, muddled blackberries), as my friend put it tasted like acai with alcohol, 0 for 2. Waaah. Friend 1 had the Rent Check, a fresh approach on the watermelon jolly rancher. Friend 2 had the smoke & heat, she liked her drink I found it too smoky but the waiter said that it well with the pork sliders...need to try that out next time. Friend 3 got the Lanai Cooler, she enjoyed hers as well, I got to taste it a bit it was too fruity for my taste but I did enjoy the hint of vanilla on the back end. On to the food, it's a Tapas bar (aka: pupu kine), we tried the mushroom bruschetta, comes with three toast so, I just took a taste of my friends piece and ate the mushrooms left in the plate. It was very tasty with balsamic and arugula, cheese, and lemon zest, we also got the chicken tacos, which were yummy, the taco shells were freshly fried and the ground up chicken was tasty. All in all I gave it 4 stars only for the food. Three stars at most for drinks but I have too remember probably most drinks were created for the "hawaiian" feel for the tourists. read more

Visited Habitant while waiting for our names to be called at a nearby restaurant. The bartender on our half of the bar seating area was very friendly and attentive. He gave us recommendations, and though the prices were a bit higher than we usually pay, it was expected for its convenience. The Lana'i Cooler was very delicious and a good amount for the price. Strength of drink was low, though you can definitely taste the alcohol in it. As soon as we took our seats, a paper menu and pistachios were served to us, a nice touch! The paper menus to me are nice, but I can only imagine how many of these a day they must go through! Will definitely be back again soon, friendly and fast service! read more

Great surprise! Located in the center of Nordstrom, I'd been always assumed the place was just for guys waiting for their girls shopping, but it is surely way beyond that! Everything we ordered - Kalua Pork Sliders, Honey Chipotle Wings, Key Lime Martini and Strawberry Cheesecake (or something like that)- were all great! Food portions are small, but the prices are propotion to the serving size, and great for the quality. The one thing bothered me slightly was that I felt under dressed there. I don't usually feel that way almost anywhere in Hawaii but there (well, when I go to good restaurants, I pick nicer clothes). Everybody wore nice attire there. Next time I go, I will dress as if I were a Nordstrom shopper. read more

I'm giving this spot 4 stars because I didn't think the service was consistent. There were 2 people behind the counter. They both were busy which is good. They did check on me, however, I didn't receive water with my meal, nor was I asked. Once I was done with my food and drink, they weren't cleared. I really wanted to like this place. I ordered the 1944 mai tai and seriously? It was FILLED to the brim with ice, and not cubes, like freakin hail. $12?? There was hardly any damn liquid in it. Plus, they give you tiny little straws to drink it with which make it difficult to drink with the slush ice in the way - which I swear is meant to make you think there's more because it takes 3x as long to drink because the straws get blocked up. I don't go out that much (wife and I have a toddler) and this place was close to where we were going for the night so we thought we'd grab some drinks. Super disappointed. read more

I didn't want to write a review on this place in hopes that people won't come here and ruin it for me. This place is great - it has Wi-Fi, electrical outlets, TV's with audio and booze. You can order from both Ruscello and Habitant and still eat here. It's the best place since it's in the women's department so now I can sit in one place while Gemma runs around shopping for herself and now all she has to do is yell over the railing and ask for my opinion. Stopped in with my daughter for a late lunch. Located on the 2nd floor (mall level), it seems a little awkwardly placed right by the escalators. But that aside, everything else was great. Service was good. We didn't feel rushed to move along. And the food (brought down from the 3rd floor restaurant) was great. We had the hummus plate and chicken tacos. Total for the two plates, a glass of wine, and tip - $36. Pretty reasonable, I think, for a department store restaurant.
