Yay! Finally got to try Haidilao after SO long. I have always tried the instant hotpot kits and soup broth kits at home, it's nice to have finally gotten the chance to try it. Parking is very doable! It's located in a corner of a big plaza. Once you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly staff and seated immediately if available spots are open. It's pretty spacious inside, it never feels like you have to squeeze past tables. It's very well maintained, everything is clean and it looks so cute inside with little decor everywhere! They seem to have a lot of promos depending on the days you go, but mostly for lunchtime on weekdays I believe. The pricing can be a little steep for certain items but honestly i still think it's decently priced for the most part. You pay separately for the salad bar and the soup broths are charged individually. The order process is easy, you order off a tablet but the staff will guide you through ordering and everything on your first visit. The staff is super attentive so your table is always clean and they will go over special item orders and when to best enjoy them based on cooking times. Overall, if you head to Haidilao, you are heading in for a good time. The food is great, services is great, and the atmosphere is very comforting . The lunch combo was a great deal! For $27 you get protein, veggie or mushroom or tofu, side dish and carb, and soup base. Senior discount available at $20 for the same combo. You still have to pay $4 per person for the sauce / salad bar. You can opt out if you are okay eating without the sauces. Service has always been attentive at this place. You still get an apron but now it has changed to paper apron. Everything else is pretty much the same from when this place first opened its doors at the Fremont location. There is also a late night happy hour special where most dishes are 31% off. It's easy to overorder when there is a discount so watch out for that. So far Haidilao has been my favorite place for hot pot, and I cannot wait for more Haidilao in other Bay Area locations such as Serramonte. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner (adult) and keep in mind this is a review for summertime. Parking in the mall area was easy. We were seated outside and it was hot. Unfortunately, the air they have setup outdoors does not cool you down. Between the spicy soup and spicy sauce I ate, I was definitely feeling the heat. I recommend sitting indoors if you can get that reservation. Food was good and we had soju (order one at a time or it gets warm), we ordered rib eye, lamb, vegetables, and up to 4 different soups bases. The robot servers were cool and if you mention the secret phrases they do give you a freebie for the table not per person. Dessert was ube or vanilla ice cream. They sang happy birthday and we ordered the hand pulled noodles which came with a noodle dance show. They also sang happy birthday and gave the birthday girl a matcha cheesecake. We came here for an after work gathering, and everyone had a great time! The last time I visited this restaurant was probably back in 2023, so it was nice to be back. We had a reservation and were seated quickly upon arrival. We chose four different broth bases, and all of them were flavorful. We ordered plenty of food along with a few pitchers of beer. They offered a wide selection of meats and hot pot ingredients, so there was something for everyone in our group. We also got to enjoy the face changing mask performance and the noodle dance! The soups (tomato and spicy pork) were delicious and served quickly, however our hotpot food items took nearly 45 minutes to be served. We were so hungry and drank a lot of soup while waiting for our food. LOL The waiter told us their kitchen was too busy, he was sorry for the long wait and offer us dessert. We also had to remind them on a missing fish fillet. The staff apologized again and offered a $5 discount. At the end of the meal, we checked the bill and found out the $5 discount was not there and they charged us for open sauce fee which we didn't order, and there was another 15 minutes wait to get our bill corrected. Our drink didn't arrive until midway through our meal, and I'm baffled by the lack of service especially considering the restaurant uses a robot delivery system for extra assistance. Even after ordering about $130 worth of meats, sides, and a single drink for two people, we were both still hungry by the end of the meal.. The biggest issue was the value. This was my first time visiting the Haidilao Fremont location. We traveled from San Francisco because my friend told us about a promotion they were offering for members: $1.99 Angus beef and $3.99 lamb. You can order unlimited Angus beef and lamb so if you have a large group and can eat a lot of meat, this promotion is a great option. Just keep in mind that you can only choose one of their available promotions. The restaurant is very cutely decorated with balloons and adorable pictures of their mascot. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They asked if it was our first time visiting and patiently explained the different promotions and how to place our order. They also provide complimentary snacks, hair ties, aprons and phone stands upon request. Our server, Scarlett, was especially patient and attentive. Heard this was a popular place so decided to try it out and see for myself! Right away, as we go to the entrance, we see a cart of snacks and drinks. Gave me a good impression. Thought that was a nice gesture for those people waiting for their table. We were seated right away and there was no line for a Friday night. Once we were seated, we were given a bib/apron, hair tie, snacks, and wet naps. Thought that was a nice touch. I use the restroom and they have complimentary mouthwash and feminine products. Thought that was nice too. My friends and I ordered four meat dishes and tripe initially, just to see how much we could eat. The meats were good. The tripe was okay. The soup was good. Ordered the pork bone broth. But sadly to say, after spending $130 (before tax and tip) on just those items, we were still hungry. I received a gift card for my birthday which forced me to visit and for the value of what you get, this place is completely overpriced. Yes the broth is good but it's really hard to swallow the price. You also have to pay $3.99 just to get sauce! We did not leave full after paying $500 for a dinner for 8 people and the final order of meat we got was ALL FAT. Most importantly, make sure you triple check your bill - We went last night and the waiter tried to pull a quick one on us and overcharge double tip. He wouldn't let us see the receipt first and insisted I tap my card without looking at the bill! He even took my $200 gift card, physically took the gift card away without returning it and only tried applying $150 until I said to give it back and reminded him there was $200 on there!! Waited an hour to get seated, another hour for mushrooms to come out, then meat, another hour for fish, after endless waiting we left at 10pm. They were understaffed and service took a while. While there is always a risk of cross contamination - I really apperciate the fact that they list INCLUDING SOY, on their menu for contains allegens for every dish, protein, vegetable etc.. I'm able to swipe on their tablet and be a bit more rest assured that I am have agency and can make informed decisions as a consumer here with less surpises. - It's been quite difficult at establishments where I inquire if certain soups have xyz allergen and they'll say, 'nope, no xyz allergen', and I will say, 'but abc soup base has xyz', and they'll go, 'yeah you're right'. **I would still speak to the staff here and as always have your epi-pen if you have allergens. - Their sauce bar was a bit more difficult as the wall has the allergens listed in the background - which I never I had noticed until now. Not sure if that's new but it was helpful - hoping that they'll have (if not already) any allergen accessible menu for sauces and everything not just on the wall. - Food is always good. We ordered 4 soup broths and combination of meats & vegetable mixes. The price is definitely worth it in my opinion because of the experience and quality food. We also got the hand-pulled noodles, where they asked us to request a song and included an entertaining dance. Everyone here is welcoming. They also have free soft serve, snacks, and fruits. Our server, Irene, was extremely nice and accommodating to our orders and requests. We had some rain leaking to our table from the outside, but the staff made sure we stayed dry and were comfortable. I do think for a place that isn't all you can eat, the sauce bar should be added without a fee as to me, sauces go hand in hand with hotpot naturally. My friends and I had a rsvp for 1130am for a party of 7 on a Sunday. We were seated in a U-shape booth with the hot pot in the middle. We were able to choose 4 different types of broth to share which is great! However, the booth fits better for a party of 6 with 2 at each side but we had 7 so one of our friend was in the corner making it hard for him to reach the pot but also with is trying not to hit each other with the minimal space we had. We ordered the following broth: 1. Tom Yun broth: Not too sour nor sweet. A hint of spiciness. 2. Mushroom Broth: I think I like this best. Very flavorful and I love mushrooms. 3. Bone broth: A light broth that is lightly seasoned. 4. Spicy Soup Base: A very bland broth that is very oily with lots of dried chili peppers in there that kind of ruins yoir taste buds not because of the spiciness but the flavor of the chili. My least favorite and I usually love anything spicy. For 7 people, we ordered about 6 plates of meat, quail eggs, fish balls? Tofu, 1 shrimp plate and 4-5 types of veggies. The veggie plates were very full and fresh. We also ordered fresh made noodles and didnt realized it came with a dance. It was pretty interesting though the OCD in me was thinking if I should eat the noodles. The staff wore gloves and the noodles mever touched the ground or any of us but I did try the noodles and it was decent and chewey. There is a sauce bar to make your own sauce which is always a plus because I can make a sauce catered to my own liking. There are also various types of crackers at the sauce bar along with fresh made prawn crackers and a few types of salad such as seaweed salad and maybe a jelly salad of some sort. There is complimentary soft serve icecream of ube and vanilla flavor or you can do a mix. The icecream is very creamy and flavorful esp the Ube flavor but sweet for me. There is a topping bar with various toppings for your icecream and a DIY Ice Jelly Station. I was too full to try the dessert. Maybe next time. Updated 2/22/26, rating is for our last vist. For context, we've been to the Fremont location 10+ times and the spiciness just hits the spot no other hot pot place can. They had a short lapse in quality around December 2025 to January 2026 where the meat was too frozen and appears pre-cut but this has been resolved in our recent visit on a late Sunday lunch around 2pm. This location will remain our go-to spot for Hot Pot and I will update this review again after our next visit, likely in 1-2 months. The proteins we had this time were fresh cut sirloin, angus chuck flap, shrimp paste, basa fillet, and duck blood. The fresh cut sirloin appears to be a never frozen meat and is plump and juicy but I still prefer the meatier flavor profile of the angus chuck flap. We had the ribeye before but being cut so thin, the chuck cut is comparable in tenderness so I do not think it is worth the cost to go with a ribeye in thinly sliced hot pot meats. Duck blood has been changed to a fresh one where it is soft and served in a bowl. Previously, it was in semi-solid blocks which doesn't taste as fresh. We tend to skip the pork and chicken altogether and order our favorites. We also skip the sauce bar (which costs extra) to make more room for the fresh meat since the spicy soup base is plenty flavorful enough for us. Service is very attentive. Empty dishes disappear quickly, offers to help with putting shrimp paste or duck blood in the soup. Any help requests came very quickly like for extra tongs or a bowl. Ambiance is typical Haidilao, very lively with happy birthdays sang 2-3 times while we were there. We didn't get the multi-mask dancer while we were there during lunch but we did get the dancing noodle guy that comes with your order or noodles. Noodles were freshly made per usual and highly recommended. Pro tip 1: you can order 1/4 pot of WATER so you can save on the soup base cost if you only have a table of 2. My go-to option is to order 1/4 spicy tallow beef soup (regular spicy), 1/4 mushroom, 1/4 water, 1/4 water. 1/4 pot of spicy is plenty spicy for two and if it gets too heated, you can switch to the mushroom. If it's still too spicy, scoop the hot oil into a bowl and add more back in as needed to keep the heat high throughout your meal. Pro tip 2: You are allowed to bring your own boba drink from your favorite place to wash down that spiciness. Finally got to try this and while I liked it, I'm not sure the price or quality beats out other spots. They charge separately for each thing: base, extra toppings from protein to veggies, sauce bar, dessert bar etc. The food quality is good and so is the service. No complaints there. Personally, I enjoyed the dessert bar enough to pay the extra and the agar jelly was nice to cool down the spice. Charging for the sauce bar though? I was kind of surprised by this but then again, I don't eat hotpot often but I don't remember being charged separately at the other places I've gone to. Total cost between two people was around $150 I believe. One other critique: meat add ons are priced high but the portions are tiny. As for the restaurant itself, it gets crowded and quickly fills up. read more
