Everything was delicious but the staff made the experience exceptional! The owner was so accommodating and nice. He personality was so warm and welcoming! The food tasted fresh and delicious except for the general tso chicken. Not sure what part of the chicken that was but i just wasn't a fan. . I'm happy that my husband and I decided to dine here and support this establishment!

3 roll lunch special: Alaska, tuna avocado, yellowtail scallion
    Adri M.

Ordered a 3 roll lunch special. For $15, it came with a choice of soup or salad. The food was good! Quick takeout service, nice staff. I'm not sure what the salad dressing was, it wasn't a typical ginger salad dressing. Everything was fresh, and good. The smoked salmon in the Alaska roll wasn't the best though, it was on the bland side. Otherwise no complaints.

I absolutely ADORE Haiku.. FRESH food, great atmosphere, great staff. The sushi is prepared well, and the prices are absurdly cheap.

Now, I can't remember the name of the roll, but it has bananas and mangoes in it with crumbled Oreos on top. ??? Weird - Yes. Tasty? Meh it was alright. It's like a desert roll so I should have really thought about that, but I had never heard of a roll like that before so I HAD to try it. It was good, but I should have stuck with a dinner type roll. Would recommend if you had a group of people, not as a sole roll for dinner. Service: Two servers, no complaints. Haha, the first waitress gave us these little packages at the start and I was like "What is this?" I opened it and there was a warm towel inside. Nice touch. I think she thought I was a complete rookie because I have never had a sushi place offer that before! Atmosphere: Very nice inside, good for a divey bar scene or for a nice date. Nice menus and the towels were cool. Price: 30$ a person pretty standard. It's sushi, so it depends on what you get. The guy I was with got a straight sashimi plate which was a little more expensive, so it just depends on how hungry you are! Overall: Cool place, bonus for the towels, the unique rolls and the service. Not sure I will be back this way but if I am, I hope this place is still around!

This was my first time trying hibachi, and I am currently pregnant, so food safety is especially important to me. After only a few bites of my meal, I found a cooked fly mixed into my fried rice. Seeing a bug in my food immediately ruined the experience, and I was concerned that the entire batch of rice may have been contaminated since it appeared to have been cooked together. While waiting for a replacement, I noticed fried rice was still being served to other customers, which was concerning. When the replacement food arrived, I was given miso soup and a California roll. The California roll was unusually warm instead of being cold and fresh as sushi normally should be, so at that point we just wanted to leave. What made the situation even more frustrating was the bill. We were charged for the replacement miso soup and California roll, despite receiving them because there was a bug in my original meal. The restaurant only offered a 10% discount, which barely covered the sales tax. To make matters worse, both my boyfriend and I felt sick after eating here. Finding a cooked fly in my food, receiving unsatisfactory replacement items, and the way the situation was handled left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I would not recommend dining here, especially if food safety and customer service are important to you. At the very least, I would avoid ordering the fried rice.

I have tried plenty of good sushi, but this one stands out. The fried shrimp shumai is excellent, although steamed might simply come down to preference. The place itself is small, but very quaint and pleasant, with two outdoor tables. It's relatively inexpensive compared to other spots that charge a lot for not-so-great sushi, while this place delivers genuinely outstanding quality. The staff is also very polite, as it is a family- run business.

Service was quick and friendly, they went out of their way to accommodate us even though you could tell they were doing a lot of to go orders. Everything came out on paper plates with plastic cutlery and wooden chopsticks which was honestly fine by us, easy clean up for them and a casual night out for us. We were checked in on frequently and the staff made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our sushi, plus a few nice little extra touches like extra wasabi, etc. Everything was fresh and tasty and came out quickly and accurately. A solid sushi spot if you're in the area and have a craving.

I've been to a good number of AYCE sushi spots, and this is hands down the best one yet!…read more The have a unique menu unlike other sushi AYCE spots, including the jellyfish salad, double sweet (jalapeño tuna over a rectangle of deep fried rice), the Howie Special (sliced raw pepper tuna), and even fried Oreos for dessert too. All the ingredients tasted very fresh, and I was also happy to see it opening til late since we were coming back from a roadtrip. They also have a wide selection of yummy special rolls which you can't beat for the price, but do be warned, they are more filling in case you're trying to fill up on a lot of sushi. Service was quick, and servers frequently came by to ask what we wanted to order (which they either took the order on a notepad or via their iPad). There was also no wait when we got there, and it was a nice mid-higher tier sushi spot with a few larger groups still there close to closing time. I loved that they didn't fill up too much rice on the sushi rolls. It was also a sweet surprise that the green tea and red bean ice cream, which was fairly creamy by surprise, also paired nicely with my fried Oreos. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely come back!

The chef was going back and forth between two grills, cooking portions of the meal on each and then sharing food across the grills. Because he was trying to manage both tables, the food suffered--the eggs were burnt, and everything felt poorly coordinated. The hibachi experience itself also lacked the energy, interaction, and entertainment you expect when choosing hibachi. Even the guests at the table next to us commented at the end of the meal about how poor the experience had been, so we clearly weren't the only ones disappointed. We came for the full hibachi experience and unfortunately did not receive it. We left feeling like we should have gone somewhere else. Very disappointing, and we will not be returning.
