You can tell they use real banana. My only thing is I believe the bananas weren't ripe enough, but I know that it is hard to always have the perfect ripeness for bananas because of demand. This is definitely a grab and go establishment. There is no inside seating or bathrooms. I do advise you to use the bathroom before because all the restaurants nearby will not allow you to use the restroom unless you make a purchase. Martin Diedrich is the original founder of Diedrich Coffee, which was sold to Starbucks in 2006, and opening the Tustin location marked a return to the exact site of his very first full-scale Diedrich Coffee coffeehouse. So when you come to Kean, you are coming to a special place that is tied to the history of coffee in The O.C. Needless to say the coffee is roasted in-house and is excellent. I always buy an oatmilk latte here, and the coffee taste is deep and aromatic. Definitely one of the best in Orange County for the pure quality of its coffee. For Orange County, the location has a nice community vibe. Eclectic mix of tables, but there aren't always enough of them, so it always seems packed. Staff are always extremely nice. Appreciating the history, great coffee, and community feel is one thing, but you should know in advance that they do not offer wifi here. That is my only complaint and the only reason this gets a 5 and not a 4 star. I suppose if they want to maintain a certain vibe they don't want people working there, but I would be happy even with a one-hour time limit on wifi usage.
