First visit on 11/20, the restaurant is very clean. I had baby backs and they were great, tender and mild sauce that was very tasty. I keep trying to support this place but I am done! We ordered food via door dash on Sunday 2/23/25. We ordered ribs, mac & cheese, greens, potato salad, and peach cobbler. The food is a hit and miss and the service is bad. They forgot to put our mac & cheese in the order and when we called they couldn't care less. We asked for a credit back to our credit card to for them leaving our mac & cheese out. They told us they couldn't do that, but we can come and pick it up! So I had to drive there up there after paying DoorDash extra for delivery . When I got there, I went to the takeout side and waited 15 minutes and no one said anything to me, the girl working kept walking by and didn't offer to help me so I went around to the restaurant side and waited a few minutes and finally someone asked me if they could help me. When I explained I ordered using DoorDash and THEY left my mac & cheese out, they did not care! They just told me they would give me my mac & cheese And they could not credit my account I would need to contact DoorDash for credit. They didn't offer me anything not a chicken wing not a side order not a free side on my next visit nothing! So I asked was there anything they could do for my huge inconvenience and she (Maddy who claimed to be the manager) offered me a dessert. One of the choices was banana pudding so I chose a banana pudding when I got home instead of having a banana pudding, I had another peach cobbler. Well damn they couldn't even get that right. Terrible service. The sides were ok but the ribs were awful! They were tough and flavorless we had to drench them with barbecue sauce. The next day we put the leftover ribs in the oven and cooked them about an hour and that really helped us get the meat off the bone, Shame on them! read more

In the mist of everything that has transpired in the last 72 hours in the wake if the coronavirus outbreak. People are uneasy and afraid, so my husband and I wanted to grab a quick bite because I was craving Beef Brisket. Of course the restuarant was at low capacity and quite, which I didn't mind. We were greeted by a hostess by the name of Margaret. Who was very sweet and very attentive. Margaret offered suggestions and even her favorites on the menu. Once we decided what we wanted. Margaret brought our food out that was hot and fresh looking. Presentation is everything to me and they nailed it! I order the Beef Brisket along with the Spicy Beef Sausage my husband wanted to try. For my sides I ordered the Mac and Cheese which is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Very flavorful and moist, y'all know what I mean by moist. Some Mac and cheese can be hella drrrrrrrrrry. Lol. But seriously all the sides were delicious. We had, Baked Beans and Yams which are only served on the weekends. Needless to say my husband and I enjoyed our outing and our food even more. the worst ever over cooked okra had to take the hard batter off in order to eat the okra. corn bread cooked the day before was refrigerator cold not fresh at all. the mashed bean were watery to much sugar. the only great about me spending $24.00 and going to pick it up myself was the grilled fillet of sole hands down the best. you can't get in touch with a manager to solve your issues and they wonder why. never again. read more

My last visit prior to today was so great! But today, I usually don't make these types of reviews, Hambones is my boyfriend's favorite place to eat. First and foremost, I knew it was a red flag when I walked in, sat down, and the restaurant smelled like a dirty restroom. Secondly, I placed my order and it took 30 mins to receive my drink. The young servers were quick to walk away before we finished what we wanted to order. The fries were cooked in old grease. We asked for a NEW batch and received the same results just a hotter temperature. We've been coming to Hambones for years, but today they failed us. I'm not writing this review to get anyone in trouble, but service matters. The catfish was really good! We will return soon and hopefully the servers are more attentive. read more

They came highly recommended from family. So, I decided to give them a try. Disappointed is an understatement. I ordered the 3 meat dinner. The waitress brought out the 3 meat lunch. I had them package the additional food to-go. Sliced Beef, great smoke Baby back ribs, great smoke Hot link, decent brand or in-house made Collard greens, clear fluid, no Seasoning or meat added and hard stems. Stuffed orka, to much breading, look like hushpuppies. Mac&cheese, ok for restaurant quality Cornbread, was good, went great after I cooked down and seasoned their greens. Dipping sauces, were great. They remind me of Lucille's or Tony Ramos. I was told I caught them on a bad day. I should try the weekends. After spending $50 on a 3 meat combo my day em was bad too. I give it 3 1/2 stars. We ordered the Super Feast through their website, no delivery app, straight from them. Everything was delicious and pickup was seemless but there were a few things that we didn't like. First issue, this was for Father's Day ('22 for future reference) and I chose Hambones because their mild sauce is actually mild, my dad can't tolerate spicy food. We get everything home and the greens were spicy. Second issue was the chicken. We went with the 2 half chicken choice because my mom doesn't eat beef, pork or dark meat chicken so the reasoning was she could have 2 breast and wings. Well they gave us 3 thighs and 3 legs, no white meat whatsoever. How is that 2 half chickens? The third issue, they put all the meat in the same pan. For the people that have allergies or don't eat pork, putting beef, chicken and pork in the same pan is a problem. All in all I would recommend it but make sure you check your order. Next time I will make certain to tell them to pack the meat separately and not give me just dark meat when there is supposed to be white meat too. read more

Brisket was to be expected nice and tender. Baby back ribs fall off the bone with simple rub. However, their bbq gave it the punch. The place was pretty decent when it came to seating. The staff was pretty good and friendly but needs to come out more to check up on customers. read more

The food was very good but service picking up my food was horrible. Thankfully I got to my car and I had a feeling something was wrong. I checked my bag and I was missing part of my order. I think maybe implenting a process for your take out side, where there worker takes everything out the bag to go over the contents to make sure order is correct and all there before the customer leaving and realizing , part of their order isn't there. Stopped here for dinner before going to the Stand Up Comedy place next door. Good choice and so convenient. One parking spot for both dinner & the show. Such great BBQ, Sis had the Catfish sandwich. Rest of us chose the baby back ribs, baked beans,collard greens, mac & cheese, and the most delicious cornbread we have ever had! I'm not lying, took some home for the next day to have with our morning coffee. The restaurant itself is very clean and cozy. Wait staff were welcoming and happily answered all our questions. I can go get good and great food several places but what's more important to me is service and respect for the people that spend their hard earned money with you they should be respected especially when you made an egregious mistake by leaving a piece of the meal out that you ordered!!! They left my cornbread out!!! one of my sides was black eyed peas!! cornbread and black eyed peas go together like hands and gloves!!! and I paid $33.00 for that meal rib tips, Mac &Cheese, black eyed peas fried okra and cornbread!! But guess what NO CORNBREAD!! and when I called to tell them of their mistake I got oh well to bad for you attitude!! Instead of I truly apologize for that error we can send your cornbread to you!! But what I got from smart mouth I don't give a damm attitude was you can come get your cornbread!! Not bad at all! My boyfriend & I ordered take-out. I had the spicy rib tips (BOMB), mack n cheese (pretty good) and friend okra (didn't like them at all). He had the grilled filet sole (just ok. We had to come home & spice it up) He also had mack n cheese and spicy greens in which he tore up. The peach cobbler omg. Do yourself & get the large not the small and add ice cream. My sister and I was in the area and decided to try their food on a Saturday afternoon in late December. We ran into to the owner and was nice to tell us to go to the back to order take out. The cashier was nice and gave us take out menus. I ordered smoked pastrami with garlic mash potatoes and sister ordered brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. I happened to check in on yelp to save 15% off the bill. I think we waited 30 min or so for our food. They put even a paper bag. I took a bite of smoked pastrami and it was juicy and delicious in their soft bun which made the bottom bun soggy. I was hungry that I could taste some smoke but not too Smokey. The garlic mash potatoes was very garlicky and smooth not chunky. My sister enjoyed her sweet potato fries and her sandwich was freshly made. Her bottom bun was soggy too but still ate it. Ownership must have changed, it's been a while since I've been there and NEVER was I disappointed until last night. I noticed the front where you walk in had changed. What use to a bar where light alcoholic drink could be purchase is now for favored lemonade. I order the shrimp dinner for $25 that came with two sides. They sat a plate in front of me with 8 small shrimp and a lemon slice. I was not going to pay $25 for that. The mac & cheese wasn't good at all; just saucy and not cheesy. They used to have best mac & cheese with brown top. The greens taste like they were boiled in water, no seasonings. The sides were barely warm; not hot at all. I sent the shrimp back and ordered the catfish thinking ok I'm safe with this because I ordered it many times and you would get a whole catfish fillet. I got two small pieces of the flat tail end; I personally think I was being punished for sending the shrimp back. That catfish meal was $22. The cornbread was saturated with honey top and bottom, couldn't eat that. I keep the catfish, which but I told my husband I'm not coming back ever. The only good thing I can say about the food...the ribs were really good you could taste the smoke and the catfish was seasoned to perfection; just wish I had more of it. It seems like they have cut back on the amount of food and sides were an afterthought; no seasoning at all! I see why the place only had three tables with customers including ours.
