We sat in their back patio which is a great space to enjoy the nice weather. We chose the two meats with turkey breast and brisket, the chilaquiles, and the sticky ribs. The two meats were good, not great. The turkey breast was drier than I was hoping. I was disappointed by the chilaquiles because no where on the menu did it mention the chips were tossed in BBQ sauce instead of salsa. I would skip this dish next time. The sticky ribs were tasty. Still a fun spot to visit, especially in summertime when you can take advantage of the outdoor space and extensive cocktail list. The churro ice cream sandwich is exceptional - highly recommend.
The food is fantastic!! Had the rib platter (not the baby back). Was fall off the bone and full of much flavor. One of the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot from all over the county. Don't sleep in the street corn; addictive. Just go
Great, chill restaurant and, more importantly, DE-LICIOUS BBQ all the way. We stopped by Hamilton Pork on our day trip to Jersey City and, first, loved that it was in a nice, quiet local area - although unbeknownst to us until we drove back home did we realize that it was located just a few blocks from the Holland Tunnel, so even though it was so close to that chaos, it felt like such a local and serene area still. When we strolled in on a beautiful Saturday morning/afternoon at 12pm, we were surprised at how empty the restaurant was. There were only a few people inside on what we thought was going to be a busy day. Maybe they get a lot more crowded in the evening?? We pretty much knew what we were going to order having already given the menu a once over prior to visiting, but, like most BBQ restaurants, they offer meats a la carte or samplers for those wanting a little bit of everything and, well, it was our first time here and, as you would think, we wanted to try EVERYTHING (or at least the good stuff). We ordered the 4 meat sampler for $45, where we got the Fatty Brisket (yes, specify you want fatty if you don't want dry slabs of meat), Pork Belly, Pork Belly Burnt Ends and Pork Ribs. We also got the side sampler, which came with 3 sides where we chose the Mexican Street Corn, Burnt End Beans, Mac & Cheese. Verdict??? Absolutely delicious, grade A BBQ food!! When we bit into the Fatty Brisket, we immediately knew our trip out here was well worth it. It was so tender, juicy, flavorful and, well, FATTY!!!! Soooo dripping good. The Pork Belly and Pork Ribs were the same - absolutely just amazing fatty, flavorful BBQ, The only slight disappointment in our minds were the Pork Belly Burnt Ends. We've had burnt ends in Kansas City before and it was way different than the burnt ends here. The burnt ends were a litttttttle too hard and burnt for our liking here - and possibly too salty too. As for the sides, FANTASTIC and very generous servings - although we did pay $23 for it. The Mexican Street Corn, Burnt End Beans, Mac & Cheese were all great and I would highly recommend. On a few sides notes from the food, yes, it might be challenging for some to find because there isn't much signage outside indicating that its Hamilton BBQ, but there is a BBQ sign on a window and there aren't any other restaurants on the block really so when you spot it, you figure it's Hamilton Pork. Parking could be a challenge on the block, but it's like any other area where you have to find street parking. We parked 2 blocks away, but we did see parking spots closer as we walked, so it wasn't that bad. Exterior and interior were pretty much how you would expect a BBQ restaurant to look - a brick building with booths and picnic table seating inside and a big American flag on the wall. Nothing out of the ordinary for a BBQ restaurant. I don't know how this restaurant is not bustling with customers and overrun by BBQ-vores , but the BBQ was as good as it got and done right. Service was good throughout, but felt a bit awkward with some waiters just hanging around with the lack of foot traffic. Oh, and there's also an outdoor space in the back for those nice days where you want to enjoy your BBQ outside. If you haven't been, go!
Ohhh my goodness I love this lil spot in Jersey! The array of meats to pick from, the 5 or so different sauces, the drink selection - all of it! I like the ambiance of the outdoor back patio - dim outdoor lighting and no blaring loud music. Food was great!! The meat was so flavorful I didn't even want to put sauce in it and tortillas were super fresh.
On a sunny Friday afternoon, sipping delicious margaritas and eating smoked meats of all kinds is the best thing you can do with your time. The big backyard here at Hamilton Pork is an excellent place to do it. I was lucky enough to roll with a group of people that wanted to try all the things, so we got a good chunk of the menu to share. The nachos and margaritas are serious winners (which makes me think the tacos are too). I love the pork ribs and the sausage (habanero cheddar!), and the brisket was quite tender and well smoked, but whoever trimmed this one left entirely too much seam fat before they smoked it. One of my slices was basically all fat, and this is coming from someone who usually loves fat (in the right ratio). The sides were a little underwhelming; I liked the Mexican street corn (do they just do all Mexican things well?), but the burnt ends beans and the mac and cheese were a little too soupy, and not quite flavorful enough. That said, I love that they have four different sauces to amp up everything...sauces are the best. The staff was mostly on point, although it took a while to get utensils and water when we asked. To be clear though, I was ecstatic to be here, and I will certainly come back again to try the rest of the menu. I love barbecue more than I love most things in life. And if you're in Jersey City, this is the spot.
The name is Best Punning Practices 101, fo sho. Now, to the food. I don't know what snobby Southerners would say about the 'cue, and I don't care. They didn't invent grilled meat. I thought the BBQ was on point. We shared the Meat Sampler, choosing the pork belly burnt ends and spare ribs. The burnt ends were particularly noteworthy, being a good balance of juicy and crispy. The spare ribs were well-cooked, but a bit bland. We also got the Mac & Cheese (fantastic), Sauteed Baby Kale (garlicky healthiness), and Cucumber Salad (terrible, drowning in watery mayo). Obviously, skip the cukes unless you're a glutton for punishment. Pro tip: If you sit outside during warm times, make sure you have on mosquito repellent. I was bitten at least 10 times, and the next week was not fun. :(
The food was delicious and the server very friendly. The food ribs were falling off the bone, just how it's supposed to be. Food came out quickly. We sat outside in the front, which is nice because the restaurant is on a more quiet side street. They allow dogs outside where we sat, but not inside. We brought our doggy and they gave him water, very nice.
Wanted to go downtown for something to eat with a buddy. He picked Hamilton Pork and I was certainly not mad about it. This place stands out as the rest of the area is full of different cuisines and eateries. The location is great and out of the way. It was a Thursday and wasn't too busy but still had plenty of people inside. Food was solid, we enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the staff. Every month me and my friend John try to go out once and we take during paying. What a great thing friendship is.
Finally visited Hamilton Pork. I've dined a few times at Hamilton Inn and enjoyed it however Hamilton Pork was a disappointment. My expectations weren't entirely high going in based on the recent google and yelp reviews I read online - most of them which were confirmed to be true based on my own recent experience. Hamilton Pork is around the corner from the Inn; they have a few outdoor picnic tables in the front and a lot more picnic tables w/ umbrellas outside in their backyard/garden area. That day they had the doors/windows all open so even with an indoor table you had an outdoors vibe. We opted to sit in the backyard garden area. We started off with a round of pinche pina margaritas - mine frozen and my fiance's on the rocks. The drinks were good - but way too much crap mixed in which kept on getting stuck in our straws and teeth. For food, we decided on a 3 meat sampler plater w/ brisket, pork ribs and pork belly and two sides - the Mexican corn and the sweet mash (based on yelp reviews). It took a while for our food to come and when it finally did, we realized we never were brought silverware or plates. The waiter was in no hurry to get us them - it felt like it took a few more minutes before he came back and we could actually start eating. All of the food was cold/luke warm. All of the food was average, at best. Two pork ribs was a puny portion for the cost. The pork belly was deep fried and inedible - another waste of money. It was so salty, hard and stringy and of course that was the biggest portion on the plate. They should really update their menu and specify that the pork belly is deep fried as opposed to barbecued or smoked. The Mexican corn and brisket were fine. The sweet mash was so cold and just nothing special. It's also pretty stingy they charge you a dollar for a piece of Texas toast to go along with a nearly $40 meat sampler. All in all, it was an overpriced mediocre BBQ meal which seems to be the trend around this area. I have no need to return here again.

A surprisingly short ride from lower Manhattan and located in a beautiful neighborhood, Hamilton Pork is worth the trip. The food is flavorful and fresh, and the atmosphere is laidback. After my first visit a couple months ago, I couldn't find a place that can match the flavor of the giant beef rib. The meat is tender, juicy and just insanely delicious. The beer is always perfection and the red sangria is the perfect summer drink to pair with some red meat. The Mexican street corn was sweet. The chips and salsa were good. My biggest regret was not saving enough room for the Churro ice cream sandwich. Filled with dulce de leche ice cream, this sweet treat is simply delightful; I highly recommend it. The service is great! Our server was friendly and prompt with everything. The timing from the kitchen made our courses spaced out just right. Hamilton Pork, we will be back soon!

Came here for lunch on a weekend. Parking was challenging but with patience and determination we were able to find parking on the street. The meat selections were good. But to be honest, I was more thrilled about their sides: Mexican street corn and sweet mashed potato were amazing! read more
3.5 stars I was quite disappointed in the food. Got a meat sampler and everything was extremely dry with not enough flavor. Slaw was basic and chorizo quesadilla didn't have enough meat and was dry as well. Jalapeño cornbread was delicious but for $7 a piece it was not worth it. It's one of the few BBQ joints in Jersey city and I did have fun hanging out there. Service was friendly but food is not worth the price. read more
Solidly ok. Had some high expectations but was a little disappointed. The overall bbq was nothing amazing and was pretty over priced imo. The Mac and cheese and brisket was $18 but was very small. The pulled chicken was very good but also expensive. The pork belly was ok but had no sauce. When asked for bbq sauce it was literally just ketchup and franks red hot. So it was pretty okay overall. It also took us a long time to get our check too. I don't think I'll be rushing back but again very middle of the road. read more

We visited last Friday night. While we enjoyed the crispy kung pow cauliflower and tangy hot sauces at the table, my half rack of ribs ($19) were slightly overcooked and dry. My boyfriend had ordered the brisket burrito ($15), which looked very thick upon arrival, but when he showed me the cross-section, it only had a small sliver of meat. We've both worked in restaurants and understand margins are thin, but we were both a bit underwhelmed, given the price point: either everything needs to be a few dollars cheaper, or we would prefer to receive a little bit more protein. read more

I was extremely disappointed with the food here at Hamilton Pork. We ordered four tacos and 2 sides. The bbq meat was extremely dry and my rib taco was very fatty, to the point where I didn't want to eat it. I wasn't a huge fan of the mac & cheese as it lacked flavors or the Mexican street corn which was on the sweeter side. Definitely not worth the price you pay. $5-8 for one taco and $9 per side. The atmosphere was nice however and the staff was extremely friendly! read more

Chicken Nachos: Delicious (recommended) Mac & Cheese: Creamy, but not served warm for some reason Brisket Tray: Delicious (Tender and flavorful-no sauces needed) highly recommend Pineapple-Mint Margarita Frozen: Too strong and gross We ordered drinks and it took 20 minutes to get them. We had to ask if they were placed and coming. Server thought we ordered pork ribs when we really ordered a side of corn bread. Not sure if the server was new so will cut some slack. Service wasn't great, Mac & Cheese needed to be served warm or hot is ideal. It was creamy just needed to be brought to temp. Atmosphere is cool. I would go back just to make sure this was a one time experience to determine if it was a fluke. Brisket was bomb! read more

This spot used to be my jam. My fiancé and I have been coming for years, a few times each month. But the last 3 times have been so underwhelming and disappointing, I think this may be the end... :( We ordered the lamb belly sando, pulled chicken, and a side of Mac. The sandwich was missing 3/6 key ingredients (tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, and onion). The lamb belly on the sandwich was 70% fat. The pulled chicken was cold and dry. Probably was sitting in the kitchen under a lamp for hours. And the Mac and cheese (our must have side Everytime we come) - the container was only half filled. Still delicious, but the amount you get for $9 now is incredibly small. I don't know if it's new management or what, but things have changed. The menu changed for the worse (you removed loaded Mac?!?!), the prices feel like they have increased while portions have decreased, and the overall thrill of the menu is gone. Hoping things turn around for the better soon. read more
Don't get this confused with Hamilton Inn as these restaurants sit right next to each other. Heard good things about this place so had to give it a shot. Don't think customers are required to wear masks (of course recommended) - but employees still wear masks and follow protocol. We ordered first ordered our drinks: If you like pina coladas, 10th street margaritas with tajin rim. Both drinks were good, tasted like your usual pina colada and margarita. For food, we ordered the meat sampler with the choices of: pork belly, pulled pork and brisket as well as pork ribs. In order, I'd have to say the pork ribs were my top fav, then pulled pork, pork belly, then the brisket. Brisket felt a little dry compared to the rest. However, their kung pow sauce helped a lot and made everything taste even better. We also ordered cheese fries which were nice to munch on the side however it was little harder to eat over time as the cheese hardens so had to eat the fries around the cheese and couldn't finish the fries that had the harden cheese in the middle. And for dessert, we got maple pecan bread pudding - really good and sweet (for those who many not have the biggest sweet tooth). I'd def recommend this one! read more
Eh, Im not impressed. Here's my verdict: 1. Ribs are to die for. 2. Cornbread was good but definitely wasn't fresh.. it wasn't warm and it tasted a few days old. Needs some work. 3. The Mac & Cheese SUCKS so much. For $10 you could make 4-5 pots of boxed mac & cheese at home that would deliver better flavors than whatever this is. I couldn't even take two bites. Definitely pass on this! Idk if I'll return.. maybe just for the ribs. read more
Yum yum yum yum yum. I would give Hamilton Pork six stars if I could. My friend and I had dinner here this past weekend. We ate inside where all the staff and servers were masked. The place is big and airy though the tables are pretty close together and the bar seats are almost right on top of the tables upfront. There is outdoor dining at picnic tables on the sidewalk but we didn't see that as an option when we made reservations. We both had the Meat Sampler [$25] and shared various sides, including the Mexican Street Corn [$7], the Mac & Cheese [$9], the Brussels Sprouts with bacon and apple [$9], and the Spicy Slaw [$5]. I also ordered a margarita on the rocks with a salt rim [$12] because tequila is life. The three meats I chose for my meat sampler were the pork ribs, lamb belly, and brisket. Let me tell you, outside of Texas, this was the best barbecue I've ever had. Disclaimer: I am far from being an expert on barbecue but ooooooh buddy, this was some barbecue. AND, they are not cheap with the amount of each meat on the platter. The pork ribs literally fell off the bone. They were thick and meaty [that's what she said?]. You didn't even need the sauces that were provided on the table. The lamb belly had the most perfect amount of fat and char on it. It's not often that you see lamb belly offered at a barbecue spot. The brisket though. It was juicy and tender, you could rip it apart with your fork. The smoke ring was well defined- it was such a beautiful thing. I enjoyed the pickled vegs on the side, you really need that hit of acid to break up all that meaty, fatty flavor. The sides were really good, but it really is the meat you're after. You can easily share each side, there's a good amount in the container. My favorites were the Mac & Cheese and the Mexican Street Corn. Cheese is the over all theme here. The mac & cheese was creamy and rich. The Mexican street corn was refreshing between the sweet corn and the herbs. The Brussels sprouts were fine, I don't know how much apple or bacon I found. The spicy slaw just didn't do it for me. I think it was the mayonnaise. My friend was a killjoy so we didn't order dessert, that and our eyes may have been bigger than our stomachs. We were stuffed by the end and brought some leftovers home. Service lagged here and there but there's not much to complain about. It was pretty busy and I'm sure they're not 100% staffed. The bill came out to $98 after tax, before tip. I can't wait to come back and get my meat on. read more

Nice restaurant, good service, excellent food. Lol guys I forgot a picture again because the food was so yum-O! It's a nicely kept simple restaurant and I think the lighting really contributes to the pretty element it gave me. The only issue we had was I asked for a straw and the waiter gave me an unwrapped straw from his hand. . I gave him a look and he was like let me get another. Poor thing came back with 3 straws on a plate lol. I was confused and he seemed new to the industry. Then we ordered sautéed kale. Somehow we got sautéed spinach, which was not even on the menu! We laughed and both the waiter and manager somehow were convinced it wasn't spinach and were so uptight. We were just laughing like Where's the garden hiding where you guys got the spinach from, because it was not on the menu. Lol. Anyway, we'd never heard of lamb belly so ordered it and to my surprise it was delicious! The brisket was perfectly tender and flavored paired with the original sauce, yum. The pulled chicken was good and we usually don't go for pulled chicken as it can be dry. It wasn't super juicy but it wasn't dry. So, satisfied. FYI they no longer have taco Tuesday happy hour as pictured on Yelp. Go, enjoy! read more

So happy we finally gave this place a try!! The food was so good especially the brisket and ribs. The jalapeño corn bread is a delicious side and was one of my favorites. The vanilla pear margarita is so so good! The servers were super nice and informative. The food came out quick and tasted delicious. We will definitely keep coming back and will recommend this restaurant to everyone. read more

Came here twice, both with groups. Brisket in both times are very dry, I recommend to avoid that dish at all cost, although it is the first item in the popular dish section of its yelp page... The other foods I think are okay, but I didn't try all the smoked meat. I think the pulled chicken is fine, pork belly is very greasy but I kinda like it. Last but definitely not least, the dessert with Churro and ice cream turned out to be the best I have for the night. Thanks to a friend who proposed to order that because he saw that from other tables. read more

No words! Slamming Ribs - Fall Off The Bone - Delicious Kung Pao Wings, Smoked/Fried To Perfection! The Mac n Cheese Is Delicious, Great Reviews And I Tried It And Was As Expected. The Drinks ~ Ahh Ahh, Honestly With They Were Stronger, The 4 Drinks I Had Were Super Weak, The Most I Enjoyed Was The Mango Flavor Of The MargaritaAnd Sugar Rim, Averaged Price $12-$16 iBut It Adds Up, So Some Extra Strength To It Would've Been Cool And Worth It. Our Waiter Was Kind, Professional And Attentive, I Did Tell Him How Weak The Drinks Were And Honestly Would've Expected A Drink On The House Or For The Drink To Be Done Over... But The Food Supersedes Everything Else Anyhow. Ambiance Is Totally Cool, Laid Back. Wish There Was A Better Diverse Selection Of Music, But Overall, Super Cool And Welcoming, Great Vibes! I Honestly Enjoyed It Overall, Food Is Delicious, Fresh, And Worth It! Hamilton Pork has a decent menu ranging from bbq brunch, traditional bbq, sandwiches and tacos. I have come here twice and is pretty consistent with food and service. Highly recommend if you are in the area. I definitely enjoyed the Brisket Mac and cheese sandwich - a combination you have Knute you needed. read more

Super hungry and dug in so not many photos, but would definitely recommend you try this place if you want some options in jersey city :D Order ranking from favorite to least favorite: 1. TACOS - we got two, the carne asada and the fajita (though we saw online that the other tacos are also really good); carne asada was my favorite favorite thing of this meal, but would recommend both 2. Brisket - part of the meat sampler, super tender and basically fell off as I tried to scoop some onto my plate. Has that smokey, salty flavor so I'd recommend eating it with the pickles and pickled onion or maybe some other veggies. 3. Pulled chicken - part of the meat sampler, pretty good but nothing super memorable :0 4. This was my first time trying Hamilton Pork. I was in the mood for some Brisket and stumbled upon their burrito on the menu. It was described as having rice, beans, lettuce, salsa verde, crema and Queso. My burrito was done fairly quick and given to me. Unfortunately, after my first bite I realized they left out 4 of the ingredients they had listed which made it extremely dry. Inside was brisket, rice, and lettuce. The beans, salsa, Queso, and crema were left out which sucked. The brisket wasn't moist enough as it was on the drier side so those ingredients missing didn't help. read more
This American Barbecue spot is the real deal! The decor is very cute, and it's a nice casual spot for a meal with friends. The prices seem a little expensive at first glance, but the portions are very filling. My friends and I split the meat sampler, which I recommend to try a bit of everything. We got the brisket, pork belly, and pulled pork. The pork belly was super fatty, and the pulled pork was full of flavor. The brisket was also good, but could be fattier. Their homemade sauces are very good, and I recommend trying a bit of each. I also got a brisket taco for myself, which was great. Also, their coke is Mexican coke in a glass bottle! I hold a pretty high standard for BBQ with only having 1-2 places in the state that I trust to make absolutely delicious BBQ, but this place has just been added to the list! We ordered a bit of brisket, which was absolutely delicious. I usually veer away from brisket due to it usually being dry, but it was so incredibly tender and juicy that I was sad I didn't order myself a serving. We also got the Kung Pao Wings, which weren't terrible, but the flavor wasn't completely absorbed by the chicken. The sauce also just hardened around it, making you get 2 seconds of sauce before it drops into pretty plain chicken wing meat. The baby back ribs were INCREDIBLE. As someone who's adored ribs since they were little, I couldn't believe how amazing these were. Highly recommend!! We got the sautéed kale and Brussels sprouts sides. Kale was fine, well seasoned, nothing over the top, which is perfect. Brussel sprouts had apple and bacon pieces with it. Unfortunately the brussel sprouts were too salty, but otherwise, the smoky flavor of it is incredible Surprisingly, the fresh squeezed OJ ranks at one of the best drinks of OJ I've ever had. It was refreshing and truly a great part of my day. Shout out to the waiter who put up with my Asian parents and who replace by OJ completely when I spilled it. You're really amazing, and your service was incredible. read more

We ordered delivery from here today. First time! We saw they had great reviews on yelp. Delivery arrived early! Which is great. No spills. We ordered the fries, side of classic coleslaw, and brisket burger with side of sautéed kale. We ordered the fries to be burnt and cooked extra. They unfortunately weren't but it's a great portion for $6. And they have great flavor! Definitely recommend them. The coleslaw is a good portion for $5 and the taste is amazing! They include apples in it to give it a sweeter taste than traditional coleslaw. A delightful surprise. Definitely recommend trying it! My boyfriend said it's his new favorite! That says a lot. The sautéed kale was delicious and cooked perfect. Nice garlicky taste. Extra $3 and it's a good portion size too. Definitely recommend to try it. The Mexican brisket burger has bacon and avocado and perfectly cooked brisket meat!! Fell apart and tasted incredible!! $14 soo worth it. Very messy but soo worth it!!! Incredible burger!!! Please try it!! You will love it! We will definitely be ordering it again lol we LOVED it!!! Although order arrived early, unfortunately the burger was cold. We reheated it. It was still amazing. Seamless has delivery fee of $3.99. I'd rather order directly from their site next time. read more

I didn't think I would like this place, BUT...3rd time is the second time I was charmed. Happy Hour is great and the food is really friggin' good. My eyes immediately dart to the sandwiches. I had the El Pollo Loco and that junk was bueno as hell! My friend had the Mexican burger and was so in love with she ordered a second one to go. We spent $119 and left wanting more. Also, if you don't like brussel sprouts, this place will convert you. They're almost as good as the ones my girlfriend makes. read more

Second night in a row coming to Hamilton Pork! Last night I had the pork ribs and recommended my boyfriend get it tonight. They did not disappoint. The waiters keep recommending them over the the baby back ribs, and I believe them. He got a double order of the pork ribs and the brisket sausage which was truly delicious, especially with the assorted sauces. I got the Kung pow wings. Wow! Favorite food of the night!!! Just so good. As sides we got the potato salad which was just okay, and the cornbread which was just better than average for me. For drinks we got the mango margarita which I recommend and for dessert we got the churro waffle ice cream one. Amazing! Wish we weren't so full so we could finish it all. Love this place and their cute outdoor dining area. Oh and also, the service was top notch. We forgot to take pics of the food, but here's my man showing you we killed that dessert. read more

First time ordering from here, I heard great things about the brisket sandwich on Texas toast so I placed an order for pickup. The ordering site suggested I pick up in about an hour, though when I began to dig in the sandwich was just about lukewarm. Some time had passed since the order was complete, and it would've been nice to receive a text or email letting me know it's ready. Overall, it was delightful! Big pile of well seasoned smoked brisket with cheddar, onions, ketchup and mustard. Sweet pickle chips were scattered throughout the box, and definitely didn't add much to the sandwich itself. The sandwich was $14, which initially sounds steep, but good barbecue is hard to come by in this area, so it was well worth it. Will be coming back to try more delights on the menu!. read more
