Having Bun Rieu and watching soccer !!
    Johnny M.

Best Bun Rieu hands down, it's a bit further down the road from the usual little Saigon but I don't mind as it's less hectic! Owner is friendly and even brought our food over the lounge next door so we could watch the soccer World Cup !!

Good wholesome comforting food from South Vietnam made fresh to order with love. Bring your family and enjoy their famous Banh Xeo tom or noodles soup dishes prepared with lots and lots of fresh herbs and vegetables. The fish sauce here is well balanced not too sweet or salty and you can add extra lemon juice to adjust accordingly to your taste. Nice clean restaurant and nice clean restroom too. Parking is an issue sometimes but not today. Enjoy all the different flavors from a Vietnamese chef from the Mekong Delta. See you soon.

Banh Xeo - hand to scale the size

Recently came here for a quick meal. Parking is limited and tight so neighborhood parking is recommended. Restaurant itself is small but they have a patio for overflow. We ordered the Bun Rieu and Banh Xeo with pork belly to share. Food came out in a timely manner. The Bun Rieu had good flavor. The seafood flavor was just right. Pretty reminiscent of my mom's cooking. As for the Banh Xeo, it was actually pretty large. Super crispy and they make sure to load it with bean sprouts and pork belly. The Banh Xeo complements the fish sauce really well. Only complaint is that this dish is very oily. Towards the end of the meal, the restaurant gave out complimentary che for guests to enjoy. It the perfect way to top off our meal. Overall experience here was good. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely come back!

    Bún riêu óc

Had lunch with family, as my parents decided to try a bún riêu place they heard is good--bún riêu is another one of my favorite dishes, a Vietnamese noodle soup made with a tomato-and-crab-based broth, served with rice vermicelli noodles and various toppings known for its savory and tangy flavor profile, which comes from the crab, tomatoes, and shrimp paste, typically garnished with fresh herbs, leafy vegetables, often including other ingredients like pork or tofu. It's hard to find good restaurant made bún riêu, as the ones I've tried fill it with tofu and tomato instead of shrimp/pork which costs more. The broth also tends to be bland. I was impressed by this place for this dish. Main components: Rice vermicelli noodles, a flavorful broth made from tomatoes and crab, and a mixture of crab, pork, and egg often formed into meatballs. Broth: The broth is light yet complex, with a balance of savory and sweet flavors from the pork-based stock, crab, tomatoes, and shrimp paste. Toppings: Common toppings include fresh herbs, leafy vegetables, bean sprouts, and spring onions often flavored at the table with lime wedges and shrimp paste. Bún riêu has several variations depending on the region and chef, and today I tried it with escargot, or óc. I don't care for pork blood but if you do the dish comes with 2 pieces of it. Not bad at all. Relative at our table ordered the bánh xèo but because he's not familiar with Yelp, was disappointed. Authentic Vietnamese diners want the thick batter with turmeric. For American taste like mine, although I did not order or try it I think I would prefer the crepe-like thinness of their bánh xèo here. For dessert they bring out a complimentary little cup of chè (tapioca balls in sweet coconut milk) to finish out the meal. Think I found a place to satiate my bún riêu cravings in the future.

ORDER canh bun (4/5) banh xeo dac biet (3/5) the canh bun was super good! the broth was a little salty, but after adding lime it was perfect. the toppings are very good and they don't skimp. the tofu was my favorite, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. the banh xeo wasn't the best. it was very crispy, but i didnt like the flavor. they give you complimentary che at the end of your meal :) SERVICE very quick! AMBIANCE the restaurant is relatively small.

1 star regarding the unclean restroom. I noticed there is no complaining reviews regarding their restroom. Totally understand that some people don't have to use it during their dining, but regardless Restaurant Restroom is the one of the biggest concern in unclean restroom, this could spread of E.Coli, more bacteria/ viruses responsible for stomach illnesses. Food poisoning, and gastrointestinal distress. Im not expecting the super clean but at least there is no fungus or green-yellowish on the faucet. This spot is one of my favorite Bun Rieu, this place is small like little hidden gem. I like it a lot that's why I went back again. At first visit, I didn't get to use their restroom, but this time I brought my whole family to enjoy the foods there. Surprisingly, their restroom and the outside sink where you can wash your hands, are very dirty. This must be a red flag to not coming back here. They should focus on the cleaning it. It's very disgusting, not just that while eating there was a lady holding puppy walking in to restaurant for her to go order, during the wait she rested her puppy from one to another table. The restaurant owner should have put the sign, (no animal allowed) ..we didn't get to finish the foods, so we packed for to go, at home we found green rubber ban inside the food. We tossed it all. Not considering coming back .. !

Legit 5 stars. You only come here to get two things: 1) when you crave Bun Rieu (get it with OC) Or 2) banh xeo This last time I just had bun Rieu. Flavorful, pork blood was delicious, and right ratio of meat to broth to noodle.

Bun rieu soup (crab & shrimp paste noodles soup) with fried tofu

I decided to try this restaurant out after watching a YouTuber dining here. It's a tiny restaurant with less than a dozen tables but it was totally full when I walked in right after the rush lunch hour. There are also a few tables out in the patio. Ordered the house special and what everyone was raving about, "bun rieu". It took a while to get the order but it was worth it because it was so good. The soup was piping hot and so perfectly seasoned. The crab & shrimp cake that comes with it was so flavorful. The little pieces of fried tofu were perfectly fried to golden on the outside but still very soft on the inside. And to top it off, theres a small complementary cheese cup of dessert at the end. A completely delicious meal. Note: the area is questionable so I wouldn't recommend going there by yourself in the evening if you're a woman. Parking is also limited. I almost left and fortunately I spotted someone leaving and waited for their spot.

The bún riêu has a rich yet light broth, with fragrant, creamy crab paste and generous toppings. Fresh herbs add great balance to the bowl. The bánh xèo is a standout -- golden, crispy, and not greasy. The filling is generous with fresh shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts, and it pairs perfectly with the well-balanced fish sauce. Clean space, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit.

Food delicious. Service quick. Small and unassuming plaza off first. Only knock is that it is not opened during traditional dinner hours (closing at 5), which limits accessibility to quite a few people. The canh bun doesn't default whit oyster so you have to ask! The banh xeo is bigger and better than quan mii!

La Xanh means Green Leaf. It's a little hole in the wall restaurant with a very specialized Southern Vietnamese menu. They offer banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes) and noodle soup bun dishes like bun nuoc leo (lightly fermented fish soup) and bun rieu (crab soup). They also have a couple of rice and noodle dishes. No frills, fast in and out service. You get a large helping of green leaf salad with the meal. We ordered the shaken beef noodle and the bun nuoc leo. It leans a bit sweet, which is the southern Vietnamese style and is very nostalgic. The food taste is average, but my mom is a big fan of the bun nuoc leo. At the end of the meal , we also got a small serving of corn che, a dessert. Casual. Parking can be difficult but there is a neighborhood behind the center that has parking. Please come and create your own experience.

My favorite Vietnamese noodle soup is Bun Rieu and this place I will have to say has one of the best Bun Rieu I've ever had and I understand why the lines are so long! Our server was so quick to help us out and made sure we were seated right away even though it was a small restaurant with limited seating and extremely busy. I can't wait to be back to get the Bun Rieu again!
