Restaurant inside is small but they also have outside seatings by the patio which is nice n chill. Service here is good, could be better. Some days when I come by they forgot to offer water and if they do offer water they aren't as attentive with checking if you need a refil, would have to say that's the only downfall but other than that the service is good here. Food comes out fast which I appreciate. The broth can be salty if you're not too much on the saltier side of foods, I like to squeeze two limes in and drench it down with lots of peppers. So so good! I also love their tofu/minced pork meat that comes with the dish, amazing. At the end of the meal, they always hand out a small cup of che which is so nice to have after the meal. It comes with small vermicelli noodles, fried tofu, pork blood, and shrimp cake. For a dollar extra, you can add escargot. I found the broth to be so flavorful on its own, I didn't add the mắm nêm. The portion is pretty substantial and well worth your money. The bánh xèo tôm thịt ($16) was equally impressive. For one, it's enormous and very shareable. The edges of the bánh were perfectly crispy while the interior had just the right amount of softness. It had a really nice juxtaposition. The filling wasn't overly seasoned, but perfect when you wrap it in the greens and dunk it in the fish sauce. For as busy as it was, the vibes were real chill. Recently came here for a quick meal. Parking is limited and tight so neighborhood parking is recommended. Restaurant itself is small but they have a patio for overflow. We ordered the Bun Rieu and Banh Xeo with pork belly to share. Food came out in a timely manner. The Bun Rieu had good flavor. The seafood flavor was just right. Pretty reminiscent of my mom's cooking. As for the Banh Xeo, it was actually pretty large. Super crispy and they make sure to load it with bean sprouts and pork belly. 1 star regarding the unclean restroom. I noticed there is no complaining reviews regarding their restroom. Totally understand that some people don't have to use it during their dining, but regardless Restaurant Restroom is the one of the biggest concern in unclean restroom, this could spread of E.Coli, more bacteria/ viruses responsible for stomach illnesses. Food poisoning, and gastrointestinal distress. Im not expecting the super clean but at least there is no fungus or green-yellowish on the faucet. It's a tiny restaurant with less than a dozen tables but it was totally full when I walked in right after the rush lunch hour. There are also a few tables out in the patio. Ordered the house special and what everyone was raving about, "bun rieu". It took a while to get the order but it was worth it because it was so good. The soup was piping hot and so perfectly seasoned. The crab & shrimp cake that comes with it was so flavorful. The little pieces of fried tofu were perfectly fried to golden on the outside but still very soft on the inside. And to top it off, theres a small complementary cheese cup of dessert at the end. A completely delicious meal. Note: the area is questionable so I wouldn't recommend going there by yourself in the evening if you're a woman. Parking is also limited. Like many Yelpers said, the Bun Rieu here is pretty flavorful and solid. I think this might be my new favorite place for Bun Rieu. The bowl is big and is packed wit tons of flavor. Tried out this place for the first time. I love banh canh so I couldn't wait to eat. My husband wanted to try out their banh xeo. The restaurant is in small plaza with limited parking. We were lucky that someone was leaving just as we pulled into the parking lot. I was surprised to see a wait list for a Tuesday around 11:45 am. It looked like they were short staffed. There were empty tables with dirty bowls waiting to be taken away. We had to wait for about ten minutes for a table of two. After being seated, they asked us if we were ready to order before we even got a chance to look over the menu. We wanted to see what other items they had. Mistake on our part because we had to flag the waiter down after he didn't come back to take our order. Since the service was slow and my husband needed to go back to work, he asked how long it would take if we ordered banh xeo. The waiter pointed to the table next to us and said they have been here for a while and still haven't gotten their food. Yikes! So we ended up ordering two banh canh. The wait for the banh canh was about another ten minutes. My husband liked the banh canh, though he mentioned it was a bit on the salty side since he used all of the fermented shrimp paste. Squeezing all the lime didn't help. I wasn't impressed at all with the banh canh. I felt like there wasn't enough ong chop (morning glory) and there wasn't any fried onions in the soup. They do give a lot of minced crab/egg, but I rather have more vegetables to balance out the bowl. I also felt that there wasn't enough crab in the crab/egg mix. I can't say the bowl was horrible, but it's not the best banh canh I've ever tasted. Something was just missing from the flavor. Would I come back? Probably not. The food wasn't worth the wait time. I will have to continue my search for a good banh canh place since the one I used to go to changed ownership (and cook). read more
