My husband is a Galbi Tang lover and Han Yang is his all time number 1 spot! He tried so many restaurants but he always says Han Yang is the best lol The meat just comes right off the bone and is soft and delicious! You can tell the meat is fresh and not frozen which makes a big difference in Galbi Tang. We also love the side dishes of different kimchi here and the ladies who work here are so nice every time we come! Their sullongtang is also pretty good. Highly recommend if you're craving some hot Korean soup in the area!
You know you're at a legitimate Korean restaurant when all the waitstaff is hardworking Korean aunties. The menu seems bit limited but it actually covers a wide variety of Korean food: boiling hot soups, cold noodles, something fried, and something with rice! Portions are huge and they give you three types of kimchi that taste house-made. My favorite here is the NakJi Dol-Sot.
Been coming here for years and Han Yang is always a solid and consistent choice for soups. Food 10/10 I've had the: --Sul Long Tang (ox bone soup) --Yuk Gae Jang (spicy beef and vegetable soup) --Galbi Tang (beef short ribs soup) The Sul Tang is delicious and easy to eat. You need to add your own salt which is provided on the table. It's a simple and filling soup. The Galbi Tang is flavorful with lots of meat. You also add your own salt. This is one of my go to "sick dishes" as it's very comforting. Their Yuk Gae Jang is SO GOOD. It's definitely my favorite here. It's the perfect amount of spice. It's filled with meat, noodles, and veggies. The flavor of the broth itself is so yummy and when rice is added, one bowl can be stretched to three full meals. I had this dish last week and I actually can't stop thinking about it. Overall everything here has been delicious and the portions are very generous. The banchan includes 3 dishes: radish kimchi, kimchi, and mustard greens kimchi. All have fish sauce. Service 10/10 Servers are quick, efficient, and attentive. They brought extra bowls and without being asked, brought serving spoons and scissors to cut the noodles with. I have a fish/seafood allergy and I appreciate them taking it seriously and letting me know which foods they recommended I stay away from although they did not know for certain. I wish they knew which dishes had fish/seafood so I knew for sure what was allergy safe, but I understand that it's impossible to know the ingredients of every dish. Ambiance 8/10 I've been coming here since the pandemic days when they had outdoor seating and it's always very neat, clean, and pretty quiet as well. There is plenty of parking and lots of other dessert, drink, and food places nearby. Even though it's almost 90 degrees outside, I've been craving their Yuk Gae Jang and can't wait till my next visit!
I was thoroughly impressed by my recent (first) lunch experience here. The establishment maintains a pristine environment and a calm atmosphere that is perfect for a weekend meal. The servers were also very professional and had a welcoming aura about them The highlights were definitely the japchae and bibimbap--both were expertly prepared and stand out as some of the best I've encountered in the California. While the menu is excellent, I would love to see a few more small plates or traditional appetizers added to the offerings. Note: Parking could be a bit of a challenge when they are busy, so plan accordingly! I'll definitely be back to see if a second visit pushes my score to a 5.

Hangyang has been one of the must visit places ever since I found it about 15 years ago when I visited Anaheim for blizzcon. The place only serves a limited staple of Korean food but what they serve they do them so well that it's worth going just for that small menu. Over the years they expanded their menu but their staple imo is the galbi tang or beef bone soup. It comes with 2 pieces of large beef bones. The soup is delicious and is paired perfect with the mustard sauce. There are other delicious offering such as the thistle rice bowl. I'd say because of the limited menu everything is great. The parking lot can be packed especially in the weekend as all the church goes come by. Most of the clienteles are usually middle aged or older so you know they know what authentic Korean food is. The service is extremely efficient and very friendly. The place is clean just like most Korean restaurants. Nothing to complain about. Order the galbi tang and you'll be coming back.
Delicious and authentic! The banchan was so fresh and more on the spicy side, which I absolutely loved because it was so flavorful. It honestly tastes just like a home-cooked meal. I got the bibimbap and the galbi-tang...both were excellent. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite spots for the seasoned thistle stone pot rice. It comes with a small side of sauce but I don't use it and instead eat the side kimchis. I wait a bit for the rice to get crispy at the bottom! So good. The spicy beef and vegetable soup was hearty and hit the spot late night. The pork cutlet (katsu) was a decent portion for my son and came with a side of miso soup. The pork was crispy and light. The ox bone soup with brisket is soothing when under the weather. A bit skimpy on the brisket but good otherwise. Service was a bit brash and prices went up.
I've eaten here a few times and it's consistently good. The stone pot bibimbap comes out sizzling with crispy rice and a perfectly runny egg, and the galbi tang has a clean, rich broth with fall-off-the-bone short ribs. There can be a bit of a language barrier, but the Korean ladies are patient, kind, and understanding. Generous banchan, fair prices, and a casual, comforting spot I'll keep coming back to.
PARKING: Free-They have a small parking lot, so I hope the luck is on your side! I came here to get some korean comfort food with my girl friends. We enjoyed our meal and would come back again. Service was quick and timely. They may not always check up on your table for water and refills on banchan, however they are quick and willing to help once requested for. KOREAN BBQ BEEF BIBIMBAP $25: This comes with Korean BBQ beef with onion, roasted sesame, fried egg, and sliced dried seaweed serviced in a sizzling hot stone bowl/plate with the spicy red sauce (gochujang) on the side to add to your preference. Make sure to let the rice sit against the stone bowl/plate a little so you can have a bit of crispy rice texture to eat before you mix everything in. Although this can be pricier than other places, the portion size is decent! Highly recommend coming here and can't wait to try other things on the menu!
I was looking for some comfort food after a long day of work. This place definitely hit the spot. It was a cold night and the bone soup was comforting to my body. Service is great, they come around and refill your kimchi if you want. $23 was very reasonable for the soup and 4 different side kimchi . Very simple menu but I like it. Clean and cozy atmosphere.
One of my favorite spots to come to for galbi tang (beef short rib soup). The perfect comfy cozy soup for a cold day but I'll say I've had it on hot days too just because it's that tasty. The broth is flavorful and comes with juicy beef short ribs. Plenty of green onions that add that extra layer of flavor and love that it comes with clear glass noodles. You also get rice to eat with the galbi tang. I like to eat the dried jujube at the end to conclude my meal. The soup itself is authentic and truly a warm hug. They usually give three different types of kimchi banchan (side dish) the classic cabbage, radish kimchi, and mustard greens which are all fresh and tasty. The galbi tang comes with a side of pickled radish and jalapeño with spicy mustard which you can dip your meat into or eat together. They do have other food options like Yuk Gae Jang (spicy beef soup) also yummy, katsu, and various bibimbap options. My go to is always galbi tang though. They have a private small parking lot which is great but it can get crowded during peak hours. The restaurant is clean with a homey vibe and the service from the sweet ladies is fairly quick!
This place has a warm, grandmas home cooking feel to it - the soups are delicious! I ordered the yukgaejang and my husband ordered the galbitang. Both soups had a deep refreshing flavor to them and the portions sizes, very generous. The soups were matched with simple but deeply delicious/flavored kimchi side dishes. Wow this place was probably one of the best Korean restaurants I've ever been to. Super small menu of 11 items, this place seems to specialize in Korean bone broth soups, with a few bibimbap options and even a fried pork cutlet option too. Upon sitting down, we were served hot boricha-or barley tea. I ordered the Gal-Bi-Tang and my mom ordered the beef dol sot bibimbap. First came the banchan-or Korean side dishes, which included: 3 types of kimchi and one radish dish (that had WAY too much horseradish for me personally haha). Our food arrived soon after. Food: I had the Korean BBQ Beef Dolsot Bibimbap and it was great--crispy rice at the bottom, big portion, super filling and fresh. The flavors all came together really well, definitely a satisfying meal. They also had decent side dishes as well! Service: The servers were really nice and efficient. They made sure everything came out smoothly and were easy to communicate with. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean, bright, and has a cozy feel to it. It's a comfortable spot to enjoy a good meal. Met up with a friend for lunch. Got two kinds of soup. Both were meh. The kimchi was delicious. I liked the soup with mandu in it better. I was disappointed that the rice cakes weren't very chewy. Both soups definitely needed salt added. Like copious amounts of it. The service looked friendly at least on surface. We ended up getting it as takeout because we felt more comfortable eating elsewhere to chat. The order came out fairly quickly. Parking free and onsite. I wouldn't mind revisiting if only if a friend wants to go again. Otherwise it's a pass for me. read more

This place serves authentic flavors and recipes--not the Americanized kind. The food is a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality. I just got three wisdom teeth pulled a few hours ago. I am still numb, and not all there, but I was hungry. We found this place after searching for soup. After arriving, the Korean auntie was inviting and seated us promptly. Service was fast and efficient. The restaurant is clean! We ordered the pork katsu, which my partner ate, and the galbi tang. I could not eat solids so the soup was perfect. The soup was so flavorful and rich! Just what I needed. My partner ate most of the galbi. I know I was not suppose to eat solids, but it just looked so yummy. I ended up cutting some of the galbi into tiny pieces and managed. Overall, great places. I'm all better now, but would definitely return for more soup! read more
Cutest little Korean spot tucked away in Fullerton! Super cozy, spotless, and easy parking (bless the lot). It's a small space, so come early or be ready to hover. We came for the famous galbi tang and it did not disappoint--warm, flavorful, and soul-soothing. The meat didn't exactly fall off the bone, but they give you tongs and scissors so you can get to work like a true galbi pro. We also got the pork katsu, which was perfectly crispy and came with an addicting katsu sauce I would honestly drink. The real stars here? The sweetest Korean aunties running the place. They're so warm and friendly, and they'll tell you exactly what to order if you're indecisive (trust them!). Service is lightning fast--we were greeted before the door even closed behind us and had banchan on the table within minutes. Only small downside was the kimchi--it was more spicy cabbage than fermented magic. Still, this spot is a gem. Cozy, delicious, and run by auntie angels. Will 100% be back! read more
Han Yang is a legendary Korean spot in Buena Park and our go to for kalbi tang, spicy octopus stone pot bibimbap, and pork cutlet (dongkatsu). Prices have risen, the service is still cheeks, but Han Yang just hits the spot time after time. Banchan is minimal but also unlimited refills- and the kimchi and pickled veggie choices complement their soups and plated dishes well. Weekends can get quite busy here during prime hours and after church service time. So keep that in mind and schedule accordingly. Near perfect korean classics - hot stone bibimbap, the soups are composed of real, bone broth w/ 0 short cuts / over use of MSG. The beef broth used for the cold noodles was mild, vinegary tart and notably MSG free, I was pleasantly surprised. The side dishes, simple but house made and wonderfully executed. Only thing missing here are grilled meats on those same hot stone cookware to compliment the wonderful, cold noodles (vis a vi Jang Soo Jang). Weekend dinner service expect about a half hour wait, well worth it. 4.5 stars. read more

[Parking]: Free private parking lot - no issue finding a spot to park. [Banchan (side dishes)]: The restaurant only serves three different 'house special' kimchi - napa kimchi, turnip kimchi, and sweet mustard kimchi. These kimchi dishes were hit-and-miss. [Menu]: The menu is just one sheet and #2 beef short ribs soup is what this spot is known for. They also offer other selection like bibimbap and buckwheat noodle. *** #7 Spicy Sauteed Small Octopus Bibimbap (sizzling hot rice plate with house speciality spicy sauce, sliced & marinated small octopus, chopped lettuce, sesame, sesame oil and a fried egg served with miso soup - $23.99): The stone pot rice bowl had right amount of spiciness, but I will have to admit it might've been slightly too spicy for my body to handle. *** This is not the fanciest Korean restaurant in Buena Park which is known as Orange County's second Koreatown, but overall I can see myself coming back here again if I am craving for a clean, light, and hot soup on a cold and rainy day. read more
Hanyang is top of the top. I lived in LA and nothing in Ktown can rival the galbitang at Hanyang. The fact that the 3 simple kimchi side dishes are better than some other restaurants who dish out many says a lot. The sullungtang and doganitang are also not to be slept on. Price is a bit higher than average but I'd say it's worth it due to quality and heartiness of the meal. Service is quick and all the ahjummas have been consistently friendly and efficient every time I've dined in. Plenty of parking in their lot. Hanyang is an OC staple. read more

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner, and there wasn't a wait. I got the ox bone soup, and my fiancée got the ox knee bone soup. Both of our dishes barely had any meat, so you have to eat the noodles and rice to fill you up. For the ox bone soup, I chose the brisket. The few pieces that were in the soup were small. We tried their octopus bibimbap as well, which came in a sizzling hot bowl to have that signature crisp on the rice. Looks spicy but the flavor overall was very mild. Food was what we want, tasty soup on a cold night. Service was great and the aunties were very friendly. Ambiance was quite loud but we went during prime dinner time. We were craving soup so this was nearby and wanted to try. Seemed full but was able to be seated quickly on Friday night. Ordered galbi tang and octopus bibimbap, which both were very delicious. 5 stars for the Galbi Tang! My first time trying this delightful, tasty, yet not-too-rich soup, containing tender galbi. You do need to cut some of the meat off the bone, but some of it also falls off. The pickled radish that came with the dish had a surprising and delicious wasabi- or horseradish-like flavor (I usually pass on wasabi, but I love pickled radish, so this one was unique in a good way). I even liked the jujube. Friends got the Sul Long Tang and the Yuk Gae Jang, and they said mine was the best. My friend felt that the Yuk Gae Jang was a little bland but great with some of the red- colored side dishes. The side dishes tasted fresh and less marinated than banchan at most places I have visited, so that was a nice change. Will bring people back when we are craving some wonderful Galbi Tang! read more
This review is long overdue. I first tried Han Yang during quarantine, and it didn't disappoint! Today, we ordered the ox bone soup and the spicy beef soup, and both were absolutely delicious. The ox bone soup was so rich and comforting, with tender meat that just fell off the bone. The spicy beef soup had the perfect kick- spicy enough to warm you up without being overwhelming. The side dishes were fresh and flavorful, and the staff was attentive throughout our meal. The food was prepared fairly quick. The restaurant has a super casual vibe. Parking is hit or miss, but honestly, the food was worth it. If you're craving authentic Korean soups, this place is a must-visit! read more

The sul lang tang is good, and can be flavored to taste with scallion and salt/pepper. But the standout by far was the GALBI TANG - after my first spoonful, I was blown away by how flavorful it was and how tender the beef was. Came here for an early dinner on Sunday night so thankfully it wasn't too full. All of the servers are nice Korean Aunties so has a really nice authentic feel. We opted for the classic kalbi tang and dol sap bimbimbap. The kalbi tang was clean and not oily, really good flavor! The dol sap bilbimbap came out piping hot, the rice got super crispy on the bottom. The toppings were so delicious, one of the best dol sap bimbimbaps I've ever had! There are only a handful of ban Chan, kimchi, picked radish, kimchi greens and kimchi radish. The flavor was really good but wish they had other selections. I came here around 3:30pm on a Sunday and there were a good amount of seats open. We ordered the Spicy Sautéed Small Octopus Bibimbap, the Spicy Mixed Buckwheat Noodles, and the Don Katsu. The don katsu was my favorite -- the pork was cooked well and was crispy and the salad had a great creamy sauce that refreshes your palate. It includes a sauce, rice, and miso soup. I liked the addition of the greens with the buckwheat noodles as it balances with the spicy sauce and gives a good contrasting texture. The octopus bibimbap is pretty spicy but has a good flavor. The kimchi sides that were given tasted great too. Generous portions with their food. Good service and friendly staff. Definitely coming back! read more
First time here. Family wanted soup. We were seated pretty quick as they were not busy. This place was small with a small parking lot. Place was clean. Bathroom looks clean with sticky floors. We ordered three different soup Ox Bone Soup w/ intestines (ordering this one was a bit confusing with the meat option and mixed), Beef Short Ribs and Ox Knee Bone Soup. All the soup had very little meat and noodle. You add salt to your tasting. Would recommend ordering extra noodles if you're expecting to have noodles with your soup. Each soup came with a side of rice, only two came out. Informed the waitress we were missing one rice. We ended up getting charged for extra rice we didn't order. Waitress ended up taking off the charge after counting the rice bowls on the table. Very little bon chon dishes. Overall, the soup was okay. Service was not the best. Waitress were not very attentive. We paid with credit card and ended up not getting our card back. We literally had to hunt down the waitress after 15 minutes waiting for her to bring back our card and receipt to sign off. She left the card on the counter and forgot about it which is not okay. read more
Han Yang is a regular spot for me during the winter time. I usually always order the galbi tang which is always very good and so comforting when it gets cold outside. While the food is excellent, it is usually quite busy, and it is a smaller sized cafe that you usually have to wait to dine in. This is a no-frills, authentic Korean spot with a mostly Korean clientele, so you know you are getting the real deal here. Parking can be packed at times, and the bathroom can sometimes be unkempt, but it's well worth it. read more

The side dishes were alright- just kimchi, radish, and some kind of vegetable. I got the ox bone soup ($18.49) and it was pretty tasty. I came here because I wanted to try traditional Korean food and it did not disappoint. The side dishes were full of flavor and the mustard greens were unique and crunchy. I got the Ghalbi Tang and the soup was robust and earthy. I've been overseas and had Korean food as well and it felt like I was transported to the home country. The service was also quick and the demographic were older Korean and Japanese people which well tells you how authentic it tastes. I will definitely come back again if I'm in the area. read more

Service and visuals of restaurant and food was excellent. The soup had enough meat which was good. All 3 kimchis were slightly too sweet for and especially the dipping sauce. The broth was a bit too watery for me. It was not horrible but I don't think I will go there again. read more
Top 3 Korean restaurants in LA/orange! Not too much seating inside, but can get seated quickly outside. Quick turnaround as they take orders before sitting! Their 3 kimchi variations were unique and delicious, Napa (ok), turnip (crunchy, slightly sweet and tangy), and sweet mustard (slight bitter tang). + Bulgogi Dol-Sot ($23.99): huge stone pot, loaded unique toppings, rather than spinach, bean sprouts, and mushrooms, got seaweed, green onion stalks, onions, which I loved! Came here for dinner around 8pm and didn't have to wait too long. We ordered the galbitang, yukgaejang, and ox knee bone soup. Since everyone on yelp mentioned the galbitang is the best on the menu, we definitely had to get that. And as someone who doesn't normally order galbitang, this was pretty good! The yukgaejang was a good amount of spicy and came in a large portion enough for at least 2 meals. It also came with a generous amount of glass noodles. The one dish that I thought was lacking was the ox knee bone soup. The broth tasted watered down compared to seollongtang at other places. Overall food was great and came out quickly. read more

Food: good comfort standard Korean food, their galbitang is excellent and probably one of the most popular menu. There was surprisingly a lot of meat inside, they give you tong and scissors to get maximum meat, or you can just gnaw at the bones haha. You don't need to add more salt, it's great as it is, but you can mix some white rice in it and eat it together for elevated experience. Another good option on a hot day is the cold noodle, with chewy texture and savory umami cold soup Price: about 18-22$ per entree dish, which is pricey but unfortunately the standard pricing for most Korean restaurants nowadays Ambiance: family friendly vibe, for all ages, customers are mostly in Korean. Inside is spacious with many tables and chairs, clean and brightly lit Service: the Korean ladies who were taking our orders and serving us were very nice, mostly spoke to me in Korean, my boyfriend let me do all the talking lol Parking: there is free outside parking next to the restaurant, we came Sunday lunch time and still was able to find an available spot. read more

Do they have option for brown rice instead of white rice?

I think you can get the bibim bap and just ask them no meat
Had the sullung tang instead of kalbi tang. Is the kalbi tang a lot better?
I personally love the galbeetang more.
