    Bibimbap fit for royalty!
    Mbudi M.

I was thoroughly impressed by my recent (first) lunch experience here. The establishment maintains a pristine environment and a calm atmosphere that is perfect for a weekend meal. The servers were also very professional and had a welcoming aura about them The highlights were definitely the japchae and bibimbap--both were expertly prepared and stand out as some of the best I've encountered in the California. While the menu is excellent, I would love to see a few more small plates or traditional appetizers added to the offerings. Note: Parking could be a bit of a challenge when they are busy, so plan accordingly! I'll definitely be back to see if a second visit pushes my score to a 5.

Hangyang has been one of the must visit places ever since I found it about 15 years ago when I visited Anaheim for blizzcon. The place only serves a limited staple of Korean food but what they serve they do them so well that it's worth going just for that small menu. Over the years they expanded their menu but their staple imo is the galbi tang or beef bone soup. It comes with 2 pieces of large beef bones. The soup is delicious and is paired perfect with the mustard sauce. There are other delicious offering such as the thistle rice bowl. I'd say because of the limited menu everything is great. The parking lot can be packed especially in the weekend as all the church goes come by. Most of the clienteles are usually middle aged or older so you know they know what authentic Korean food is. The service is extremely efficient and very friendly. The place is clean just like most Korean restaurants. Nothing to complain about. Order the galbi tang and you'll be coming back.

One of my favorite spots for the seasoned thistle stone pot rice. It comes with a small side of sauce but I don't use it and instead eat the side kimchis. I wait a bit for the rice to get crispy at the bottom! So good. The spicy beef and vegetable soup was hearty and hit the spot late night. The pork cutlet (katsu) was a decent portion for my son and came with a side of miso soup. The pork was crispy and light. The ox bone soup with brisket is soothing when under the weather. A bit skimpy on the brisket but good otherwise. Service was a bit brash and prices went up.

First time to dine here Friendly staff from welcoming us until bidding goodbye Tons of nenu choices Delicious foods Pricey but reasonable

I've eaten here a few times and it's consistently good. The stone pot bibimbap comes out sizzling with crispy rice and a perfectly runny egg, and the galbi tang has a clean, rich broth with fall-off-the-bone short ribs. There can be a bit of a language barrier, but the Korean ladies are patient, kind, and understanding. Generous banchan, fair prices, and a casual, comforting spot I'll keep coming back to.

    Yukgaejang

This is hands down my favorite Korean restaurant. The quality of the food and the portion sizes are both 10/10. The kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and gat kimchi are absolutely delicious. I heard that the owner makes everything in-house, and you can really tell how much care and skill go into the food. The staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming every time I visit. Galbitang (Beef Short Rib Soup) - This is honestly the best galbitang I've had in both OC and LA. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is always fresh and tender. Whenever I'm craving galbitang in the OC/LA area, this is the only place I go. Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. It's perfectly seasoned, and has just the right level of spice. As much as I love the galbitang, I think I actually enjoy the yukgaejang even more. Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu) - This place is known for its galbitang and seolleongtang, so I wasn't expecting much from the donkatsu... but why is it this good? The cabbage salad dressing that comes on the side is seriously addictive. The portion size is huge, there's no way I could finish it by myself. It has the crispy texture of Japanese katsu, while still having a great pork flavor of its own. I honestly think this could be considered one of their signature dishes. If you're looking for authentic Korean comfort food with generous portions and warm service, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I'll definitely keep coming back!

PARKING: Free-They have a small parking lot, so I hope the luck is on your side! I came here to get some korean comfort food with my girl friends. We enjoyed our meal and would come back again. Service was quick and timely. They may not always check up on your table for water and refills on banchan, however they are quick and willing to help once requested for. KOREAN BBQ BEEF BIBIMBAP $25: This comes with Korean BBQ beef with onion, roasted sesame, fried egg, and sliced dried seaweed serviced in a sizzling hot stone bowl/plate with the spicy red sauce (gochujang) on the side to add to your preference. Make sure to let the rice sit against the stone bowl/plate a little so you can have a bit of crispy rice texture to eat before you mix everything in. Although this can be pricier than other places, the portion size is decent! Highly recommend coming here and can't wait to try other things on the menu!

돈까스가 드라이하고 양도 적어지고 두께도 얇아졋어요.. 가격에 비해 양도 퀄러티도 아니네요 The donkatsu here is just not what it used to be before. I was a big fan of it but now it's very thin and the meat is dry..

I was looking for some comfort food after a long day of work. This place definitely hit the spot. It was a cold night and the bone soup was comforting to my body. Service is great, they come around and refill your kimchi if you want. $23 was very reasonable for the soup and 4 different side kimchi . Very simple menu but I like it. Clean and cozy atmosphere.

One of my favorite spots to come to for galbi tang (beef short rib soup). The perfect comfy cozy soup for a cold day but I'll say I've had it on hot days too just because it's that tasty. The broth is flavorful and comes with juicy beef short ribs. Plenty of green onions that add that extra layer of flavor and love that it comes with clear glass noodles. You also get rice to eat with the galbi tang. I like to eat the dried jujube at the end to conclude my meal. The soup itself is authentic and truly a warm hug. They usually give three different types of kimchi banchan (side dish) the classic cabbage, radish kimchi, and mustard greens which are all fresh and tasty. The galbi tang comes with a side of pickled radish and jalapeño with spicy mustard which you can dip your meat into or eat together. They do have other food options like Yuk Gae Jang (spicy beef soup) also yummy, katsu, and various bibimbap options. My go to is always galbi tang though. They have a private small parking lot which is great but it can get crowded during peak hours. The restaurant is clean with a homey vibe and the service from the sweet ladies is fairly quick!

Galbi tang and katsu! SO GOOD
    Melanie L.

I love this place so much that now my death row soup is their galbi tang. hands-down never misses and every time the meat portions are always large. The banchan is always fresh made, and the flavor is consistent every single time. I swear the grandmothers are in the back, making the kimchi and the broth all day. This place is legit authentic and the place to go if you want authentic Korean food, simple menu executed in a very, very good fashion. The katsu with their salad is sooo good too.

    Alice W.

I've come here several times with my family for reliable Korean food. The soups are tasty and if you're looking for suhlungtang, then this is a great pick. It's always consistent and you know what you're getting! They have other Korean food options as well, so you're not pigeon hiked into one kind of dish. The parking here is pretty easy since there's a private lot! Thank goodness! I've never had trouble getting a table nor have I ever had to wait. I've sat indoor and outdoor. They also seem to do a lot of take out. Overall, good place for warm consistent Korean soup. Yay

만두/떡만두국 (Mandu Guk) / Dumpling & Rice Cake Soup
    Tiffany L.

If you're looking for the ultimate Korean comfort soup, then Han Yang is the spot to be. This was the perfect spot for us on a cloudy and rainy day. They're known for their variety of Korean soups, especially their sullungtang and their galbi-tang. The seasoning on their galbi-tang is spot on and I enjoy their sweet and vinegar dip for the meat. The yuk gae jang is a little spicy but still hits the spot. They know how to make soups. Their rice cake dumpling soup is not as flavorful but I enjoyed their mandu and rice cakes. There's a small parking lot that goes around the building, so parking can be a little tough if there's a lot of people in the restaurant.

This place is listed as having outdoor seating - is that still available?

Yes there's a few tables outside that you can dine on.

Do I need to make a reservation or first come first serve?

No. But it could help if they take them; I'm not sure if they do. I just expect to wait.

    Is there still outdoor dining?

    Yes

Does the dumplings have pork or beef in them?

Menu says pork dumplings so yeah.

    Do they use msg?

I hope so. MSG has less sodium than table salt.

Does anyone know what delivery application(s) this restaurant uses? I don't live in the area but want to send delivery to a family member.

They're available on DoorDash and Grubhub

Is thisnplace open for dine in?

No. Take out only. We were just there yesterday

Do they have option for brown rice instead of white rice?

I didn't see any other option available on the menu.

    Are there Vegan options?

I think you can get the bibim bap and just ask them no meat

    Do they have galbi Jim?

Not that I remember unless they serve that for dinner.

Had the sullung tang instead of kalbi tang. Is the kalbi tang a lot better?

I personally love the galbeetang more.

The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.
