Expensive & not worth it. Nothing is cheap in Hanalei, but proper management would largely affect the experience we had & justify the price of a massage. The massage rooms are tiny as well as the reception area. When I booked the massages, I was given one price via text. Upon completion of the massages, I was told a different, more expensive price - even after showing the text exchange of our negotiation & agreed upon arrangement. After a very unpleasant exchange with the more senior massage therapist, she finally succumbed to contacting the owner & honoring the original agreement. The massage to relax was moot. read more

Saw the sign for this place when I was out for dinner a few days ago. I liked their location so I called to get massages for three people. A deposit was required on booking. The actual spa is small but intimate. They took all three of us in at once and they were on time. Nicole was my therapist and I thought I had hit pay dirt. I said I was very tight in my neck and shoulders and she proceeded to give me a firm but none painful massage. She took care of most of my issues while I was face down. When I was on my back she started to work on my face and jaw which further relaxed my neck. One of the best massages I have ever had. Turns out my two friends were singing praises about there massages. So I guess there whole staff is talented. I get massages on a regular basis. When I go to someone who has never seen me before I am usually disappointed. That was NOT the case at Hanalei Bay. I was the center of focus the entire time I was there. O-M-G!!!! Finding this place was such a divine blessing!! I wanted to purchase a massage for my mom's birthday, and treat my daughter and nephew to their very first massages ever while on vacation in Kauai. The business was closed for about a month and they were reopening Dec 20th, on my mom's birthday. Their website said I could text the number, so I gave it a shot literally 3 days before they were scheduled to reopen. I wasn't sure if I'd hear back before the 20th, or even if they'd be able to take all 4 of us. I received a response via text from Maria the very next day!! And she confirmed she & the other masseuse could take all of us!! I get massages back home in Chicago monthly, and I have had some great massages. But these ladies were truly NEXT LEVEL!! My mom and I got the Lomi Lomi massages- do yourself that favor!!! I've never experienced the ways in which my masseuse got inside of my pain point in my back and completely resolved it! (I had pulled a muscle or something in my back during travel). The stretching, and hot towels and essential oils- amazing! My daughter got the hot stone massage and loved it!!! My nephew got a Swedish massage and he was super relaxed afterwards and loved it also!! We all slept like babies that night!!! Please do yourself the favor and pay these ladies a visit. And they are too kind to say this, but if you're going to go experience their amazing talents - don't be a-holes!!! There were some really rude tourists who barged in while we were checking out, didn't put their masks on (their studio is small and intimate and they work hard to keep themselves safe and keep the guests safe!) and then stood in the doorway the entire time!! Booked a couple's massage and paid a $160 deposit, which was confirmed/processed successfully. I did this through the website which showed at least 6 available time slots. The employee then texts that they're canceling my appointment because they had just taken a bunch of appointments over the phone and they're fully booked for the day. Not sure why an appointment over the phone takes precedence over one that was fully processed already online. Seems like this company is super unprofessional for (1) canceling appointments that are already confirmed with fully paid deposits and/or (2) conducting business so incompetently where the website doesn't reflect accurate availability. Even now as I'm writing this review, the website is still showing false availability. Avoid this business at all costs and go somewhere more professional. read more

I just had my first massage from Maria and it was absolutely incredible. I have a (somewhat heavy) 1 year old who I spend much of the day carrying around on my hip, so I have issues with posture and upper back pain. Maria spent an hour realigning me and working out every knot and crick from head to toe, and I left feeling completely renewed. First visited 2 years ago while very pregnant for a prenatal massage which was AMAZING- finally got to lay on my belly again for the first time in months with the help of the pregnancy support pillows. The pricing was MUCH more affordable than what the St. Regis was offering (literally half). I think we probably got better massages too. We had scheduled it for a rainy day but we're rescheduled due to construction next door. Really glad they called and asked that would have been a mood killer. We had some confusion around the reschedule though, we had her on speakerphone when she called and both heard 11:15, but when we reached out as we were sitting in the waiting room with the sign that said "in session" we got a text back saying our reservation was actually at 1:45, not 11:15. First of all, I was able to get a same day appointment which was great! My massage therapist was Janessa and she did a fantastic job. After 12 hours of flying and an intense surf lesson I was particularly sore and tight, but she was able to work our all the kinks and knots with just the right amount of pressure and technique! Both Sara and Kristen did an absolutely amazing job listening to our needs and making us comfortable. After it was done, we both agreed it was one of the best massages we ever had (and my wife gets a massage once a week back home). I have gotten 3 massages at Hanalei Bay Massage and they all have been wonderful. The first time I called I left a message and they called back the same day and booked me an appt. The other two times they answered and I was able to book an appt the next day. When I got there they were set up and hand calming music. They used essential oils that were really nice.
