yelp, you guys failed me on this one. after a 5 hour drive we were starving and came here because the 4 star review. once I looked at the menu I knew this place would let me down. 80% of their rolls we're tempura rolls. we ordered salmon gyoza, seared scallops nigiri, hokai roll and the joe roll. everything tasted bland to us, keep in mind we we're starving from driving so long. to add insult to injury, there were several pieces of hair in the hokai roll. The food here is a total let down. the sushi here is comparable to the one u get at Safeway but Safeway is probably better. yelpers stay away and go to pineapple village for better food and service. read more

Hamani is our go-to place for sushi in the Morgan Hill area. In fact, it's as good as anything in the valley, which is saying something, since I eat out in Cupertino for lunch almost every day. I usually go for maguro and some form of California roll. The wife is invariably an Unagi and Spicy Tuna roll kinda gal. We recently had the chance to compare Hanami to a newer sushi joint in town and my wife's biggest comment when we went back to Hamani was the spices in the tuna roll, and how much she likes them. Pretty average place with decent rolls. I went with 2 rolls: crazy roll and the creamy scallop roll. I have to say it's much cleaner and quality is better than Sushi Boat Town. There only seemed to be one waitress, but she was relatively attentive. We were referred here by a local, but I was the least bit impressed. Yes, it was a busy Friday night at 7:30, but everything was way too slow. Two of our party of four had completely finished their entire dinner before the other two saw their first bite! Three or four take out orders came and went by the time we got our first dish, so perhaps take-out is the way to go here. The Fried Scallops appetizer was unremarkable. (See photo.) Quaint little sushi place located in Morgan Hill. Easy to get to from the 101. I loved the wooden floor and tables. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the prices here are a little lower than other sushi places in the area. My boyfriend and I ordered the Agedashi Tofu, the Philadelphia Roll, the Rock 'N Roll, and the Pink Dragon Roll. The two smaller rolls were 6 pieces and cost about $6/each. The Pink Dragon Roll was 10 pieces and cost around $11. The agedashi tofu was to DIE for and our rolls were quite good, but I thought the Pink Dragon Roll was a bit bland for being a specialty roll. read more

The key to a great place to eat is quality, service and authentic. My wife and I went to this Sushi House for our first time. Looking for something new is always challenging. Lucky the operator gave us the wrong number or would have never found it. I always order their dinner special here. Very affordable and good portions with excellent quality considering. Salad (great dressing), soup, double California roll (twelve pieces), chicken teriyaki with some rice for under twenty bucks... My girlfriend loves the curry tofu, croquettes and salad as well. I came here for lunch and was pretty impressed. The interior was spotless and it was all smiles from the staff which was nice. I've been meaning to go here for a while and finally had a few dollars so I came for lunch. The bento box I got was pretty good and the miso soup was piping hot. Rice was fresh and I got to try the yellow tail roll, rock n roll, and my meal came with a California roll. Everything tasted great and the wasabi / ginger was fresh as well. Portions weren't as big as AOI Sushi across town but it was pretty damn good! I want to come back when I got 50 or 60 bucks so I can try a lot of rolls and sashimi. Oh speaking of the prices are pretty decent. A lot of rolls in the 5 dollar range and the dinner prices aren't overly inflated from lunch (like a lot of places like to do) If this place offered all you can eat I would surely be down here tryin' to put em out of business....such is life! Service was good and fairly attentive.. I was the only person there at first for lunch. I was soon followed by several 'regulars'.. Drink orders came fast and cold. Lunch spicy tuna came quickly (made to order, thankfully). Also had the lunch bento chicken with sashimi.. salad was good but not traditional miso dressing. Rice was good. A little stingy on the ginger and wasabi. Chicken was good but the sauce lacked a sorta body I prefer - kinda watery.. Suuuuper slow service. Went there on a monday at 6 for a dinner with friends. One waitress and one sushi chef. All said and done....2+ hour dinner. Took one hour from order to eat. Sushi was good but the service made it not worth it. Especially keeping two kids occupied during that time. read more

I came in about a week ago, me with a few of my friends and the food was absolutely amazing loved everything I had. Only thing i did not like, I noticed a lady cleaning the tables and I asked her for some utensils and in that short conversation I had with her i noticed she had a small odor of alcohol on her breathe. I did not say anything at the time because I had company but I'm not sure if the manager of the place knows anything about this? Everything else besides this was absolutely fantastic. Let me begin by saying that I am a sushi snob! Good sushi doesn't always come in deep fried rolls. I actually am from Walnut Creek and work in San Francisco, so am quite familiar with many good sushi joints in the bay area. I frequently visit my boyfriend in Morgan Hill and have held the opinion that food in Morgan Hill in general is sub-par. But this place really impressed me to where I had to get a yelp account and share. I had some rolls which were very good (they don't skimp on the filling), and I LOVED the Hamachi Sashimi and Tuna Poke Salad. The sashimi was extremely fresh and the salad had a very light tangy dressing that didn't overpower the tuna. I highly recommend it. Thank goodness for good food in Morgan Hill. read more

What a great find. Another day on the road and another late stop. Not wanting to settle for fast food we decided to pull through a strip mall to see what eateries we might find. Hanami jumped out as the best of a thin bunch; what a pleasant surprise. We were 6, including a 4 year old, and it was late, after 8 but the hostess was extremely pleasant and seated us immediately. Drinks and recommendations followed swiftly and shortly there after the food. We had sushi, sashimi, udon, Teriyaki chicken and gyoza around the table and it was all very good. Though we ate at a table it should be noted that there is bar seating and sushi boats, if you're into that kind of thing (I am). I would eat here again, and recommend it for anyone who's travels take them through Morgan Hill. read more
