Solid brew house here in GJ, with local taps from CO and customizable burgers. The beers are solid and the pours are great. The staff is extremely friendly and conversational as well. The burgers will run you north of $10, but they're pretty good. The sauce bar is a definite plus, with endless options and refills for your favorite sauces to dunk your fries in. 2nd time here. First time was not a great experience so thought I'd give it another try after a bike ride. Walked in and asked bartender if they had a Happy Hour. He said yes, from 3 to 6. Asked what time it was and he replied I don't know and went right to talking to a guest that walked in behind me. The BEER! Nom-Nom! After reading previous reviews I was a wee bit worried about the quality of food. It was REALLY GOOD! First, I sent a Facebook message asking if it was all ages, I received a fast response saying yes it was. When we walked in with our 3 year-old, we did get a few looks but whatever. I'll just say the seating is not kid super kid friendly if your child doesn't like sitting on a high seat. We did steal a low top table shortly after arriving. My husband got the Lunch Loops burger and loved it. The French fries were super yummy and my child even loved the burger he shared with his dad. I got a lettuce wrapped turkey burger, please don't judge me, the butter leaf lettuce was so good. I also had a side salad, the lettuce was great, they could improve on the size of the salad and the toppings, less salad, more toppings. And the beer selection was EXCELLENT! Please give this place a chance it was good and GJ is in need of good places not in Main Street. read more

I just blindly rolled into this place after 11 hrs of driving. It was exactly what I needed! The bartender and one of the owners have been so attentive and accommodating. Service was on par and super quick. The raspberry wheat is a perfect drink to wrap up a hot summer day and the ahi tuna wraps didn't stand a chance. I inhaled those wraps so fast. I went here with a group the other night for drinks and food. While the establishment is very nice, the beer selection is impressive, and service was friendly, the overall experience I had with my food was less than appealing. I ordered a pint of the Eddyline crank Yanker IPA and it was excellent. I did think that $6 a pint was a buck more than I would normally want to pay for a craft draught outside of happy hour. I was excited that they offered variants of poutine from the kitchen and I selected the traditional poutine with the addition of mushrooms and bacon. My food arrived well behind the rest of my party of six and when it arrived it was a fresh batch of fries. What was ultimately disappointing, and very hard on the stomach, was the entire dish was excessively salty. The mushrooms tasted of being canned and tinny, and the bacon was on the side of overdone. The excessive salt content really ripped up my stomach for the next couple of days and burned the tip of my tongue. No amount of water post visit was capable of soothing my mouth and gut. I may check this place out again when I visit Grand Junction as I realize it is a new establishment, but it certainly isn't a place I would recommend to anyone. read more

Amazing vegan burger option on the build your own burger menu, so yummy! They don't have vegan buns but there is a lettuce wrap option. The root beer is delicious. Nice rooftop patio seating with a pretty view of the sunset. Kids are allowed to dine in, but there are no kids menus/options. There are however sides available such as fries, onion rings, and donut holes. Service is friendly, but not fast, which they said is due to being understaffed during this time. read more

A pretty positive dining experience overall. I visited Handlebar on a Saturday during lunchtime. The place was busy. Be sure to follow the parking directions otherwise, you'll end up fighting oncoming traffic and having to re-circle the business. The wait staff consist of only bussers and bar staff. There are no waiters or waitresses (but those staffers who I did interact with were friendly and cordial). The food was pretty decent although it took about 20-25 minutes for my meal to arrive. The place has a good selection of beers, just don't expect to get any kind of knowledgeable recommendation at The order counter. The place was very clean and the radio wasn't very loud. This is a nice local hang out. There's a spartan / utilitarian upstairs dining area but I don't know if I would recommend it. There are only a couple of outside patio seating options. This place is very pet friendly. Given the portion size and the quality of the food I found it a little on the expensive side. Overall I give it about a seven out of 10. read more

It was expensive for just 'okay' food. My burger -- no bun, fried onions, egg and bacon -- came out to $15 including the tip. Oh, yeah, they turn the iPad around after taking your order, and expectantly ask for a tip. The lowest tip amount is 17%, but you can enter a custom amount. They'll bring your food to you, but other than that, you need to serve yourself. They have a lot of beer options, and the music selection was great. I have a Medical Alert Service Dog. Staff *demanded* to see her "papers." - there is not such thing. They insisted I was wrong and it didn't matter because the manager says no dogs even service dogs unless they have papers. I explained the law again, explained that she is a medical alert service dog (thus, answering both allowed questions) and they told me they didn't care, we had to leave. I offered to pull up the ADA law for them. They said they didn't care and would get the manager. Second staff came out (not the manager). Essentially the same conversation with a lot of emphasis on "the manager does not allow any dogs including service dogs" and that I had to leave. We ordered, we up to the balcony (where ALL dogs are permitted). On my way to the balcony, I stopped the second staff person and read that specific paragraph of the ADA law about what they are allowed/not allowed to ask - clarifying how our conversation could have gone. Their response was "I really don't care." Yes, a report is filed. read more

The best burgers and the best beer in Grand Junction, by a long shot. Trust me I've tried them all. I'm one of those beer snobs from the front range, and I almost gave up hope in ever finding similar quality dining here. When I saw this place was opening I had a glimmer of hope; then I read all the terrible reviews and I thought "dammit!" But I gave it a try anyway, and it was everything I had hoped. The bad reviews must be from people who prefer Denny's. Yes I know, the atmosphere is a bit untraditional for this side of the wild Wild West, but it's about time we get some culture in the Junk. Set your preconceived notions of what dining should be like, sit down and just enjoy your freaking experience for something new. I had no issues with service or food quality, and the prices are much cheaper than what you would pay for a similar place anywhere else. People just expect everything to be priced like McDonald's here I guess. Well if you want McDonald's, stick with the fast food.
