Just tried to eat here for lunch. They have really great deals but had us waiting for an hour for our lunch special order while other tables around us got their order on time. We kept asking what was going on but they kept saying it would just be a moment more. It happened at least three times. We had soup and salad so left some money but just ended up walking out. The worst sushi I have ever had. The sushi taste like nothing. Every dish has this weird raspberry sauce that doesn't go with the fish. They also use this strange chipotle Smokey sauce that taste bizarre. The drinks are great and 2 for 1 is amazing for drinks but the sushi is the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. I've eaten here many times over the years. And the quality of the food have declined. I got take out ... a combo lunch special (Maki-3 roll, 2 appertizers, soup + salad = $24. The tuna in the spicy tuna roll didn't look fresh; I ate it with the hope that I wouldn't get sick. The eel avocado rolls looked ok, but it's more difficult to check quality after it's cooked & sauced. It tasted fine. Very disappointed by the very small size of the shrimp gyoza + the pork gyoza. I tasted the fried dumpling wrap more than any meat (flavor). I was also disappointed with the old sliced ginger... Pretty cheap and decent sushi quality. The tuna avocado tartar had no taste and the avocado was not ripe enough. The sushi/sashimi lunch specials were meh. They come with a choice of appetizer + soup/salad. It may seem like a great deal, but the portion sizes were smaller than average. For 7 small sashimi pieces and a side of small seaweed salad, my tummy wasn't full :( but I will say, the presentation of the sushi platters were very pretty. I come here often. Their food is great. They have all day 2 for 1 drinks. I always enjoyed their drinks. However, their drinks have been very watered down lately. Very disappointed and sad to say this is why I gave the 3 stars. I hope the management brings back their bartenders who know how to make their drinks right and not watered down. read more

A great sushi place if you're looking for something affordable and won't have a long wait. I've been here twice, once on Valentine's Day and once when meeting my boyfriend's family. Both times the food was delicious and best of all is the 2 for 1 drinks! I love that they have their own rolls with interesting combinations- so there's a lot to choose from if you're feeling adventurous. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for a more traditional take on sushi because that's not what they are going for here. I did take off one star because most of their rolls contained mango in it, which isn't my favorite sushi option - but that's more of a personal preference read more

I can honestly say that Hane isn't the best sushi I've ever had but the rolls are definitely worth getting again! Plus, I give them points for their presentation. The prices are pretty reasonable. i.e. the Agedashi was $3.75 for 4 pieces of tofu and the Rainbow Dragon roll and Blue crab fantastic roll were both $14.50 for 8 yummy pieces. Overall, the food was very satisfying! The Beef Negimaki appetizer was so delish that I almost didn't want to share it! It had a hint of a green onion taste to I loved! And the Naruto spicy tuna roll was unlike any roll I've tried before. I loved the cucumber around the roll. FYI on the bathrooms, the bathrooms only have 1 stall. The plus is that the guys bathroom is unisex so there are technically 2 woman's stalls. Service: this may sound like a contradiction but the waitress wasn't the friendliest yet the service was good. The food came out pretty fast (then again it was right before they closed). The waitress was very attentive to quickly clear empty plates and fill glasses, etc., just not with the friendliest attitude. The bonus is that they have a frequency card where you get a stamp for every $35 you spend. After 10 stamps, you get $35 off. Not bad! read more

We ordered the tuna avocado salad and I really loved the tuna tartar the way it was prepared and the vinageette sauce in the salad. We went a little overboard on tuna. We also ordered another disg of tuna tartar placed in tese light crispy doughy chips. Very good with the wasabi. We then ordered yellowtail jalepeno and I loved the presention. The sushi isn't terrible but it gets old after going there a few times. This is a great spot if you have a group of people who plan on ordering lots of alcohol and want some standard sushi to go along with. But, this is not the place for a nice sushi date. Love this place!!! How can you go wrong with 2 for 1 drinks EVERY DAY!!!! and it's not like they charge $15 or $20 for one, I get a carafe of hot sake for $5 or $6 and get the other FREE!!! Besides that they have a big menu with a lot of variety (and generous portions)so even the ppl we went with that are not sushi or seafood fans enjoyed it. Came here with my parents for dinner one night. 1. Shrimp Gyoza - Nothing special, just any old gyoza, but they were one of the better things from the night. 2. Ika Yaki - (broiled squid with ginger teriyaki sauce) I think it was just okay. The squid was only good when I dipped it in the sauce because the squid itself was kind of bland. 3. I got the sushi combo. For the price, it was okay, but it definitely wasn't the best sushi I've had. Personally, I don't think it's even one of the good ones, so I was pretty disappointed. 4. I forget what this was called, but it's lemon sorbet inside the shell of a lemon. It was pretty good and very refreshing, but after a while, it got pretty sour. It was worth it though. read more

I went to Hane Sushi with a large group from a Nemophila concert a few blocks away. They were very welcoming to us and allowed us to stay a good while after closing. I fail to see how being served two thimblefulls of sake for the price of one normal sized glass of sake qualifies as a deal. The decor is decidedly odd, as if the place had been a mildly upscale Greek restaurant in a previous incarnation. I took it as a slightly unsettling sign that my Chinese waitress was wearing a nametag with a fake Japanese name. (I'm not surmising this - she told me). This suggests that management's attitude is a holdover from the days when non-Japanese sushi chefs were suspect. I won't even mention the implicit suggestion that foolish Westerners can't be expected to differentiate among Asian cultures, as it's mildly insulting. An aside to those who are impressed by the chintzy (and poorly installed) Home Depot sinks in the restrooms: Really? You guys need to get out more. Ordered last night while I was at my fiancé's and I got extremely sick. Totally had food poisoning - worst stomach pains of my life, nauseous, chills, all that goes with it. I have been a good customer of Hane Sushi for about 6+ years. On December 14th, I called Hane Sushi to order delivery of dinner. I emphasized that I had a medical isue with my blood sugar & needed delivery as soon as possible, & was told it would take aa half hour. Over an hour later , no delivery had been made! (By the way, about a week prior to this, I had also had dinner delivered.) A s said, over an hour I didn't have any food! I called and asked to speak to the manager, X Huang, but he would not come to the phone! By this time I had been lied to multiple times, and was really getting the run-around. I started hearing that they had made a "mistake", blah, blah, blah..I told them to cancel the order and NOT to charge me, but they had the nerve tpo charge me even though I received nothing which, to me, is stealing.It is the 16th and no refund has been issued by Habe Sushi! These people are dishonest, and be warned...do NOT let them have your debit card # or they may well do the same thing to you!! If I don't received a refund by Monday-Tuesday , Dec 18th or 19th, I will take further measures against Hane Sushi. read more

this place is usually fairly good, but I placed a large order this evening and the sushi was almost inedible...completely dried out, fishy tasting, in not a good way...almost returned it, but couldn't be bothered...you can not serve raw fish unless it is 100% fresh...even 50% fresh would have been a step up from what was delivered... should have been thrown away days ago or maybe used as chum, although I'm not sure even fish would find it palatable...couldn't wait to get it in the trash, recycle all the utensils I didn't ask for, brush my teeth and wash my hands and pray not to get food poisoning...glad you saved a few dollars serving rotten food, but you lost a customer, but, on a brighter note, you gained a crappy review...hope it was worth it! I used to live in this area for college . Every time I would walk onto 14th past this restaurant, I would say " I need to try this place out." And every year that passed, the thought would be pushed further and further back in my mind. But the spark to go was always there. We immediately were served hot tea, typical, yet highly satisfying for the temperature. We of course ordered the spicy tuna roll and the spicy salmon roll. Wait time for the entrees wasn't too bad. I got to observe and absorb the quite interesting decor- I felt this restaurant, if I was not handed a menu, would be some warm, meditteranean or tropical restaurant. The tiling and decorations seem very warm ( I think I actually got slightly warmer just looking at the walls. What can I say,I was really cold. I digress). While waiting for our food, we realized we had forgotten about the fabled 2 for 1 cocktail offer. And how could we dare?! My friend swore by the chocolate martini ( to me it tasted like alcoholic chocolate syrup in a not so yummy way), while I stuck to a mint mojito). Stuffing our faces with the pretty standard but delicious sushi, we ordered one of the dynamite rolls which I cannot recall. We were pretty full off the three dishes we ordered. Went here for dinner last night. Never got my food. Then, after everyone else ate, the waitress finally came to check on us and I made her aware that my food never arrived. She came back with an entirely wrong order a few minutes later and I decided to just scrap the order and not eat anything, since our party was ready to go. Bill came back incorrectly with my cancelled order added on it. I think this place is totally in over their head trying to serve too many people with too few staff. Would've at least appreciated a comped cocktail in exchange for not getting to eat, but I had to pay for that too.
