If ordering a salad, get the dressing on the side as they tend to drench it in dressing like I've never seen. Randomly stopped here while on a 10 hour drive. It was amazing. We ordered takeout due to covid precautions and the gentleman at the counter was really accommodating and friendly (even through his mask). Ordered grilled chicken, gyro, hummus, taziki, and pita. This place was perfect. We stopped for lunch on our way through Danbury. Right off 84, the waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful. We ordered the meat hommous (meat on the side), mousakaa, and vegetarian grape leaves. The hommous was incredible, the mousakaa delicious if not a little bit sweet for my taste and the grape leaves were perfect. Each dish came out in under three minutes! And three appetizers was enough for two to be full. The only thing I wasn't completely thrilled with was the pita. It's clear they get it out of a giant plastic package of very thin, very chewy generic pitas. I've had AMAZING pitas before and I really thought these detracted from how delicious the food was. This is my husband's favorite restaurant. He always get the chicken tawook served over a bed of deliciously seasoned lettuce. The hummus is delectable We have always had a good meal here. The servers take good care of you. It is a small neighborhood place, great lighting (dim) quiet, with middle eastern music playing in the background. One night, we heard a distinct and familiar voice, and I could not believe my eyes - it was the celebrity Harvey Fierstein. Apparently, he lives in the area and dines at Hanna's occasionally. The little grocery store attached has a great selection. I get big containers of hummus to take home - prices equivalent to the grocer but oh sooo much better, and they have packages of bulghar to make your own tabouli. Don't expect cheerful service in the store though. It's seems tthis is serious business! read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a cute little place inside and the food is very good. I got the falafel with hommous and stuffed grape leaves. Very yummy. My husband got the chicken kabob with rice and almonds. Simple but also very tasty. The other couple got a sampler for two which was awesome since you get to taste about 10 dishes and there was enough to take home. Highly recommend. My grandparents and parents are now all deceased, so this is my go-to spot for authentic Lebanese fare. There are a couple alternatives in the area, but imo, Hanna's tops them all. The service was good. I was surprised by the inside of the restaurant because of the location. It was nice. I eat and cook middle eastern food on a daily basis. I ordered the lamb kabob. I don't know who cooked it but we didn't like the seasoning. I think they should stick to lemon, garlic, salt and pepper. The seasoning they used didn't taste good. Zagat rated, well decorated place for a $5 gyro place. They also have full lunch entrees at $8-10 that is served with salad. The table pita bread (?) seemed a little cold for my liking. Overall, practical service, appeared to have good wine selection if thats what youre looking for. read more

Both the take out and eat in sides have the same great food - the hummus is terrific, the falafel are crispy and soft each in the right places and the marinated olives are salty and briny and lovely. Mr Hanna and his family have been making the best middle eastern food in Danbury for a long time . They were here first and they remain the best . By far. This is an institution much beloved here by residents of every background and persuasion. His baba ganoush is simply amazing. The lentil stew (moujadara) covered with fried onions, oh wow, just wow!! Solid, dependable middle eastern, with reasonable prices. There is even a deli next to the restaurant for middle eastern products and food to go. We have had several very good meals here. The wine selection is not too varied, but they do offer some beers. Service is polite and helpful if you have questions. A good value for tasty food. read more

I have never eaten in the restaurant but shop regularly at the attached grocery. It is a terrific resource, especially for all types of olives, nuts, spices and seasonings, flatbreads and other Mediterranean / Middle Eastern food. The prices are fair and the people who run the shop are quiet but friendly. I usually have to shop for these items in NYC, so it is great to have a source that is much closer to home. read more
