I love this place. I went a few weeks ago to get my front brakes fixed (squealing). They asked me if I wanted an oil change too, I said yes. The whole thing was just under $300 and they did the pads and the discs. They were straightforward and so fast they made me feel like a race car driver. I was in and out in about 35 minutes. Then today I had an odd sound when I started my car (super loud clicking noise). The car started but my husband convinced me we should get it checked out anyway. I took it to Hans and they checked it out and immediately told me the issue is I needed a new battery. When I went to ask how long it would take (trying to decide whether to go get some coffee while I waited), they told me they just finished. I arrived at 9:20, left at 9:30. These people are super freaking fast. Paid my $140 and was off to work. They're awesome. Unless they somehow do me seriously wrong I will be loyal to them forever. read more

The best auto shop I've been to in ktown! This includes all the shops I visited from childhood to the present. I called ahead to see if they could accommodate an oil change that day (Saturday) and I got there shortly after at noon. I brought a book thinking it would take an hour or so but I was out in 15 minutes! Price: $30 for an oil change. Cheapest I found as everywhere else told me $50 or more and a warning of more than an hour wait with the most abrupt rude Korean ajushis. This place is amazing!!! I came in with my life in shambles and left with a sense of purpose. Just kidding, but they really are awesome. I had to get an oil change, brakes replaced, a tire patched and a headlight fixed. Originally said 2 hours but did it in under 1.5 hours. It was just so easy and painless! Super professional and honest. They did their best to explain my brake situation to me who is less than knowledgeable when it comes to cars. That was arguably the most expensive part of my service. This is going to be a quick review, but they certainly deserve the five stars. I had a nail in my tire and I was pretty confident it was a big ol' nail. I searched for places in k-town that I could rush to after work and found Hans. I pulled into their shop--be aware that during rush hour it's kind of hectic because they're right off a main road and their entrance is a bit finicky if you've never been here before, which is obviously going to be the case for most people. I ended up circling around two or three times before being confident about the entrance. I was greeted by a man and once I told him it was for my tire he had another young man come and help me out with my car. In addition to being incredibly cute and friendly, he was quick! I appreciate quick service. He was reassuring and confident in his work and also explained things to me patiently about tire pressure and what not. I always appreciate when people explain what they're doing to my car because I think knowledge is power. Why not get a free lesson on what's going on with your car to better help you the next time? The best part was that I was in and out in about 15 minutes and it cost me 10 bucks! I've found my hidden gem for nails in the tire and will certainly return if this happens again! read more

I just love Mr. Kim and his crew. I went in for a 100k mi service, which Edmunds says $1,752 for a 2013 model year of my 2006 model year car. I paid a whole lot less. I don't even want to give away how much less. And when I returned from paying for the service, Mr. Kim was crouched in front of my car, removing the busted up license plate and plate holder so that he could straight up the plate and replace the holder with a new one from the same maker. He's so cute. I honestly don't know how Heather B. had such a negative experience a few days ago. Mr. Kim and his crew would not overcharge when they so regularly waaaaay undercharge, throwing in freebies I tell them they don't need to throw in. Just googling radiator replacement costs, I came across the following: "If it is beyond repair, standard radiator replacement cost ranges between $292 and $1193 for both the parts and labor involved in the installation. The average cost for radiator replacement will be near $671. The cost will vary significantly depending on your model of car and the complexity of the work involved. Some car manufacturers are far more expensive for the part than others, with the cost of a new radiator varying from $182 up to $921." I went to this shop based on the reviews posted here on Yelp. One of my headlights was busted and needed to be replaced. When I arrived at Hans, I met Eric, one of the mechanics there who speaks English. Eric ran some tests. It was not just the headlight. The ballaster needed to be replaced. A new ballaster costs $600.00 from the Lexus dealer. (I drive a Lexus). Eric worked with me. He went online and found a used ballaster on EBay for $50.00. I also bought a new pair of bulbs for $25.00 on Ebay. When the items arrived, I returned to Hans to have Eric install them. He only charged me $60.00 for the labor. The used ballaster I bought from Ebay works fine. I was even able to purchase a six month warranty from Ebay for both the ballaster and the new bulbs. Labor normally runs several hundred dollars. Between the new parts, the warranties, and the labor, I paid roughly $135.00. I saved $550.00 on the ballaster alone. Needless to say, I will be returning to this shop. They really do put forth the effort to help the customers find affordable parts, and to do the labor at affordable prices. read more

I was very very skeptical of the reviews & was hesitant coming here - as a girl in her 20s who isn't about cars but has brothers who are obsessed with them & build them from the ground up, I know all too well from personal experience & from my brothers experiences how guys at these car places will try to overcharge unsuspecting people (girls especially) or add on a bunch of stuff that "needs fixing" when there really isn't anything wrong, or will speak to you like you're an idiot. I needed an oil change & my tire pressure fixed desperately though so I came on a Monday morning around 9. Everyone there was so nice. Seriously - I was very shocked. They didn't try to upsell me on the oil change to the higher priced package, & when they asked if I wanted my wipers replaced & I said no - they didn't push it or act like I was dumb for not doing it. Apparently my tire had a nail in it which is why the pressure was so messed up & they not only showed it to me but asked if I even wanted to fix it. There was zero pressure. It was an additional $10 to patch it up. It was $42 total & I was out of there in less than 20 minutes. Like what?! That's so crazy - it hands down was the best experience I have ever had when it comes to ANYTHING to do with cars. I can not recommend this place enough. Will be coming back here for all my car needs! I almost don't even want to say that & risk jinxing it lol or that this was just a one time thing - but seriously it was a great experience from start to finish & I highly recommend! read more

I don't know much about cars (if I know anything at all) and I've encountered shops where I felt that the owner was being condescending and/or they tried to upsell on things I didn't need. There was one shop I always felt comfortable going to but unfortunately they closed their business. However, as soon as I drove onto their lot, I was greeted by the owner Kim. He was very friendly and explained to me what was wrong with my car. He told me he'd take care of it and I took a seat in the waiting area. Superb service!! This was my first time ever having to go to an auto shop on my own and Mr. Kim made the whole process so easy! I know nothing about cars but Mr. Kim and his team did not try to provoke me to buy or upgrade anything more than what I actually needed. Things are very fast-paced here! I came here for the first time today because I needed an oil change and my boyfriend recommended this place to me. I first called for the price, which was the first amusing interaction I had--"30 dollars. Quick service, come by now!" So I got there and pulled into the garage, and got out of my car to perhaps talk to one of the workers. One of them was talking to others as well, but he came by to ask for my keys. I gave them to him, and off he went with them. No one came by to talk to me or have me fill out any paperwork, but I could see they were working on my car. After perhaps 10 minutes of this, I approached a worker in the office area and explained how no one came by to talk to me or ask what I was in for. He seemed aghast and asked who took my keys. After we located him, I explained that I was indeed in for an oil change, but no one asked me and people just went to work on my car. He told me, "Oh, sorry, then we won't charge you for it." He also gave me a packet of handwipes and a pen. The guy I approached at first (a younger guy) asked what else I needed to have checked, and they checked on everything I asked about as well as did the tire rotation. After a short while, he came back and said everything was all set, and to drive safely. All said, though it was a somewhat chaotic experience, I got an oil change and a tire rotation for free. The property is neat and clean, the technicians definitely care about doing a great job and making sure the job is not rushed. I came at 6:30p, needed an oil change, they close at 7:00p. The technician wrestled because he knew he was short on time and would have preferred that I come at an earlier time to give him more time to properly service my car. But, he chose to perform the service anyway. Please don't ever do what I did. Give them ample time just out of respect for their time. But how can you not respect that response? Came here because the master cylinder and slave cylinder on my 91 Toyota pick up were leaking and my clutch wouldn't go into gear. They charged me $85 just to diagnose it. I've never encountered that before. They quoted me 850$ and stated I needed a new clutch as well. I only came here because my awesome mechanic is in Highland Park and my insurance wouldn't tow that far. I was working with Eric. I thought the price was outrageous so saved up and towed my truck to 4 G's MECHANIC in Highland Park. THANK GOD I DID! My clutch was FINE! only the cylinders need to be replaced...They charged me $350. When I picked up my car it was dead as well and had to be jumped. Based on the reviews I was hoping for something better. I think I may go ask for a refund for their FALSE diagnosis. Also because I was without a truck due to their diagnosis for two months. Not to mention the storage fees I had to pay for my truck for two months. My advice.. Get a 2nd opinion either way it will cost you almost $100.00. read more
