The food was absolutely delicious and very filling. The kalbi was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly--not dry at all. The garlic shrimp was also excellent, with a generous portion and great taste. I loved the entire plate and felt it was well worth it. The only minor downside was that I couldn't get through by phone to place my order, likely because they were very busy. As a result, I had to order in person and wait at the restaurant instead of simply picking it up. That said, the food more than made up for the inconvenience. Overall, it's a 5-star experience when it comes to quality and flavor, and I'll definitely be back.

I kept seeing the ad while browsing social media while I was hungry so I decided to check this place out. The store was empty when I came in. The cashier was super nice. We had a nice chat. I ordered the chicken and steak combo plate and a Hawaiian drink that came out to $26. Pretty pricey but I wanted to try them. I waited while my food was prepared and took it to go. The food was just ok. The beverages in the cooler weren't cold but maybe they just put them in. I did check all because I'm not one that enjoys room temperature drinks. IDK if I'll come again but I'm glad I at least tried it .

This place has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I finally got a chance to try it! We ordered two mixed plates so we could sample a few different protein options. The garlic shrimp was easily my favorite, it was garlicky, the shrimp were jumbo-sized, and they were cooked perfectly. The kalbi was a little more charred than I prefer, but it still tasted great and paired well with the kimchi. The garlic chicken portion was very generous, and crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. The kalua pig was definitely on the saltier side, making it a total "rice killer." I also absolutely loved their mac salad, I think there might be some meat (bacon?) mixed into it because it was way more flavorful than the mac salad you get at other Hawaiian spots. I also came specifically for their filled malasadas. We tried one of each flavor at $3.99 a piece, but they were surprisingly small. It's probably not worth ordering them individually compared to buying a half-dozen or a full dozen box. That being said, they tasted great, so I wasn't too upset about it. Overall, it's a bit on the pricier side, but the food is solid and this will definitely be our new go-to Hawaiian restaurant.

I've been here twice so far. The menu is simple, sticking to the classics and focusing on fresh, well-made Hawaiian dishes. No frills, just good food. The staff has always been super friendly, and the place itself feels welcoming. On one visit, there was a bit of an unusual moment with a guest's dachshund ate inside on the table and the staff came up to pet the dog who licked their hands and what not, it caught me off guard more than anything. It didn't seem like a service animal since they're trained to stay under the table, so it's probably worth keeping in mind that non-service animals are allowed at this restaurant. Overall, it's been consistently solid food wise.

Went in with a couple friends for the ribeye special and got a ribeye that was barely edible. See the pic and decide for yourself if that was what was advertised. Was told by the person running the counter it's all cooked to medium rare and what we got was not that. Service was fine. The place was extremely warm, the had a portable ac unit set up but it wasn't covering the entire place. Anyway, it will be a few years till I go back to this well done steak of a place. Sorry but no rainbows and aloha here.

Love this place. Thank k goodness they finally opened one closer to my house than Mesa. We had the garlic chicken and the combo Kalbi and garlic shrimp. Kalbi was beautifully charred with a sweet soy marinade along with the shrimp that was cooked perfectly in a garlic butter. Garlic chicken tasted more like a mochiko chicken and was slightly tougher pieces of chicken thighs. Overall nice place for lunch. Please get an ice machine! There wasn't a cube of ice anywhere to be found for the beverages.

The one and only place to get Hawaiian food in the valley So glad they opened this location in PV as the original location is all the way out in Mesa. The PV location is pretty spacious inside. They make everything to order so it can take a while for food to come out I LOVE the kalbi, mac salad & malasadas. Garlic shrimp is a nice treat every once and a while but they go heavy on the butter so I don't feel the greatest after indulging in garlic shrimp

We have been to this location several times - service is always friendly & they consistently serve delicious food that hits our craving. The portion is enough to take home. Save your stomach for their cream or ube filled Malasadas.

My grams and I drove 30 minutes to try this place and we were not disappointed! The prices are very reasonable, considering the portion size that you get, and we were blown away with the taste. It took about 15 minutes to get our order, but when it comes out, it's piping hot so you know that it's fresh and ready to eat. We shared a combo with shrimp and ribs, and then got an additional side of Mac salad and rice. We also got a six pack of the malasadas and I'm literally dreaming about them. The ube filling was by far the best, and quite honestly better than some I've had in Hawaii before. We will definitely return. Plenty of seating inside too!

I ordered a Kalbi and Garlic Chicken mix plate and a half dozen of Ube Yam and Vanilla Custard Malasadas. No complaints about the mix plate. Meats weren't dry and were flavorful. Rice was properly clumpy, not a mushy mess iykyk. Malasadas tasted like what I've had on Oahu. I wish the cream was sweeter and little thicker but still tasty. I also tried one of my friend's garlic shrimp and wow it was a big, juicy shrimp! No issues with service. There isn't much of an ambience but as long as the food is good!

Big, big fan of Hapa Food Company in East Mesa. This is my first visit to their new Scottsdale and the vibes are there for sure! The garlic shrimp are huge and packed with flavor - I wish it were fried so I can eat the skin too but that's a personal preference. Biggest issue this visit was the garlic chicken tasted a bit stale and lacked the satisfying crunch I remember and were a bit overdone and dry. I've had good experiences before so I would still highly recommend giving them a try! Pro-tip: try the hurricane chicken on the not so secret menu. FYI, they have a $1 credit card fee

We got takeout after hearing this could be the only authentic Hawaiian food in the Valley. We were so happy we stopped. My husband loved his poke bowl and my mixed bowl was great. Typically not a short rib person but wow they were great, and the garlic chicken was awesome. Going to try the pork next time. It was busy inside at 6:15pm when we picked up. Service was nice and efficient, our order was ready. We'll be back!

Hapa offers your basic Hawaiian food. We had the mixed plate with garlic chicken and kalua pork. The chicken was fried and it had perfect amount of seasoning with hint of garlic flavor. The pork, on the other hand was bit salty. We also had poke plate. The sides, macaroni salad and kimchi were good. It also came with lot of rice. Their dessert, malasada was very fresh and delicious. We tried the plain and ube custard. Both were equally delicious. Service is fast and excellent. It's order at the counter and take a number deal. Recommend to try at least once!

This place is fantastic! This restaurant is fairly decent sized, located between a Mexican restaurant and ironically, a Panda Express (not sure why you would go to Panda when this is MUCH better and equally affordable). The dining room is well lit with about 10 to 12 tables and resembles a chipotle in terms of ordering process that funnels customers to the register. I ordered the smoked salmon roll, the spicy salmon roll, and a poke bowl. And on each one, the amount of ingredients and overall portion sizes far exceed what you typically expect for a sub $10 price point. My Poke Bowl was really exceptional and the purple rice is legit! I went on Saturday lunch so I suggest maybe going for dinner or mid afternoon so you dont get stuck with eating leftover rice from the night before. Or just dont get rice on your order. Also after eating the whole thing i left still hungry. They could stand to make their burritos a little bigger. Also I got a tuna burrito and it had hot and cold toppings mixed in which made the fish lukewarm when it reaches your mouth which was super unappetizing. The sauce was put on the fish so the toppings like vegetables all get mushed into one spot with no sauce while the fish is soaked with sauce so you have to take a small bite out of each side to get a good combo of sauce. But the toppings were SO dry it was hard to eat. They really should put all the toppings in one bowl and mix it all so everything is mixed well before putting it on rice which further dries out your mouth when you take a bite of the dry toppings. They also dont cover their toppings so the fish is just left in open air all day. Considering fish attracts flies there would be no doubt a fly could have landed on the fish you are eating! I get not covering the toppings, but leaving fish out like that is kind of disgusting. One thing I did appreciate was whoever did the hiring hired 2 workers who altho looked like they didnt want to be there (but who really wants to work at a place like this on the weekend), they were still kind, helpful, and answered questions, as this was my first time here. It was smart to have a camera facing the line so they could go in the back to be on their phone rather than some fast food places where you can see them just sitting on their phones behind the counter. When a customer came in they immediately came out to help them. It was nice to see. Also they have a sign in there that states "local, healthy, raw" which i find misleading as theres no way their ingredients could be locally sourced as theres no body of water for fish to grow in arizona so they would have had to source the fish out of state, making it not local. And the fish does not taste very fresh. If it were local fish it would taste way better than wherever they get their fish from! So i found it odd they would claim to be local. Also the only raw thing in this burrito is the fish and a few of their vegetable toppings. And after all the fried toppings, hot cheetos, and sauces i dont know how healthy this is. Certainly less "healthy" than a normal sushi restaurant. But i guess if you compared it to McDonald's i guess it would be healthy. There are signs in here saying they are part of best of phoenix in 2017 and 2019. I cant imagine a place like this being the "best" in the city as the food was just not good. It must have tasted better back then because today the food was bad. So im assuming they cut costs a lot the last few years to the point of ruining the foods taste. Id come back for the service if all their workers were like this. So ill give a star for that. But I dont think ill come back for the food. The rice really ruined the whole burrito as every bite contained the inedible hard pieces of rice. The food is mediocre at best. I left hungry too.

I think the hand roll was scallop, and this is the first thing we ate. You could immediately taste the freshness and the simplicity of the ingredients really elevated the dishes, our fish taco was also phenomenal. I also got the clam chowder which was good but not note worthy. The salmon poke bowl was incredibly fresh. They added a lot of unique ingredients like watermelon radish (not a fan btw). The main was definitely the fish which you could just taste the freshness, again it's very simple dish with not a ton of seasoning because the star of the show is the seafood. The rice tasted a little bit stale maybe, but not too bad. I really enjoyed how fresh the fish was.

Third Time's the Charm? This Burrito Finally Won Me Over…read more My relationship with this place has been a bit of a roller coaster. Visit #1 earned a solid 4 stars. Visit #2 dropped to 2 stars because the fish was piled almost entirely on one side of the burrito, making every bite inconsistent and pretty disappointing. But I'm a firm believer in giving good restaurants another chance, so I came back for round three. I'm glad I did. This visit was a perfect 5-star experience. The burrito was assembled exactly the way it should be: every ingredient evenly distributed, every bite balanced, and everything fresh and flavorful. That's the difference between a good burrito and a great one. I also asked for an extra salsa for the chips, and the staff happily gave me one with a smile. One salsa is perfect for the burrito, but I definitely needed a second for the chips, so I appreciated the excellent customer service. The restaurant continues to impress with how clean it is, the convenient location, and the incredibly fresh fish. Those have been consistent on every visit. The only downside is the price. My meal (burrito, chips, drink, and tip) came to about $30, so it's definitely not cheap. That said, I don't mind paying for high-quality food, and this time it absolutely delivered. The chips were excellent, too. My only suggestion would be expanding the drink selection. They only had one Jarritos flavor available for soda during my visit. It was good, but a few more options would be nice. For now, I'm averaging my three visits to 4 stars, and I'm looking forward to seeing if they can keep this level of consistency. And finally... kudos to the chef who built this burrito. It was perfectly balanced from the first bite to the last. That's exactly what I was hoping for, and will be back again in the future and hopefully with another experience like this so I can push it to 5 stars!

It was way too much and it ruined the sandwich completely the meat in the sandwich at least was really good. It's just a coleslaw. Lots of options, even eating gluten sensitive and low carb. Love the chicken kalot(?), dinner…read morespecials, and the soups. The Mongolian is good too. GF always gets the sushi and is happy with it. Lots of sauces including chili paste, ponzu, chili garlic, soy sauce, etc. Hosts and servers are always friendly enough. The vibes aren't necessarily stellar unless you're seated in the booths around the edge of the man part of the restaurant, but it's a huge, low priced buffet with lots of options and a ton of seating. We sometimes travel 40 minutes to eat here. It's good.

Went with family last night, from QC to PHX. Let's just say this was about an hr drive from where I…read morereside. When we arrived, we got seated right away. I mean the place was big. When you walk in, the buffet is right there behind the front desk. Yes, it was mostly a chinese buffet but there's one item on the array of foods that I liked a lot. It was a bit too spicy for me and it was Cajun sauce with potatoes and I poured the sauce in a container and made my way and grabbed some snow crab legs and crawfish and made my own seafood boil lol Pros: They stack the crab legs and crawfish Although the Crawfish didn't have any flavor (I would suggest dumping it in the cajun sauce with potatoes) Cons: It was an hr drive to PHX and the traffic.. The parking situation: It was packed. Some people stood and secured their space.. which I think is unfair but do what you must. Just luckily we found parking in front of the entrance. Best to back up park, so you can easily get out of the complex
