First off it gets five stars because I came in knowing service would be subpar, however they do have the English speaking servers walking around to check on you . Tips : the menu will have boxes labeled 1 2 3 that represents the rounds that the food come in. In each box put the number of servings for that item that you want. Cook your beef first round because it seasons the pot beautifully and adds a little oil. Don't come alone because there is a two person minimum. Iv been to this location multiple times and the one thing that's always the biggest issue is they always close early and the service. The Food is good, broth is yummy but service sucks. They pick and chose when ever they want to close. As a business to me that's not professional. For a family of 5 (4 adults and 1 child) the pick and choose option gave us more bang for our buck. We love getting the half/half broth. It came with a bunch of veggies and they kept on refilling the broth when we got low. In addition, the meal was really cheap! 6 of us went and the total ended up being $8/person! Can't beat that. First of all let me just say that this place has amazing customer service. They were very attentive without being intrusive. at one point during the meal I was struggling slightly with my Chopsticks and before I knew it they gently and unobtrusively set a napkin with fork folded inside down on the table. All you can eat hot pot?? Count me in! The broth is good, but it definitely takes time to build up the flavor (aka, throw a bunch of crap in there and watch it cook). You can get a large variety of meats, veggies, mushrooms, seafood, etc. to throw in there. Sometimes, you even get items that other tables ordered (we told them it wasn't ours, but they just left it for us anyway). After about 2.5hrs of eating, my friends had long quit, I was the only one eating and I started to get the meat sweats so we called it a night. The service is sort of wonky because they ask you if you're still eating, you tell them yes, then they turn off the burners. WTF DUDE IM STILL EATING! LEAVE THE FIRE ON! They do bring the orders relatively quick tho, even with a full house. Fair warning: upon exiting, I smelled like grease and curry. I didn't notice it while I was there, but once I got home, I was wondering where the hot pot was. You get 3 rounds of food and about a million choices of stuff to put in the hot pot. The broth comes in original, spicy or a combination of both. Believe me, when they say 'spicy', they mean spicy! Well i finally got to try this place out after two attempts. Its always busy with a long wait. Im a big fan of zhabukis and wanted to try this place for a comparison. This place is a total different experience. Its good in its own right but i love zhabuki. I wont come here again because its just not my style. Zhabuki has many sauces to add to broth and make it to your liking. The broth alone i can drink it. The crushed pepper makes it super spicy. The broth is what makes zhabuki great. Little sheep spicy broth isnt that spicy and i asked for more spice. But the style here seems different vs zhabukis. Its more of the food here than the broth. At no time here did i wanna just drink the broth, because its so cluttered with things. The broth here adds flavor to the food. So i chose zhabukis where the broth and the food is great. This was a fun experience because I had never had hot pot before, but if I wanted it again id definitely try somewhere else instead because their service is terrible. It's all you can eat, in 3 rounds, for 20 bucks. The price is definitely worth it. Broth is placed in a giant heated pot at your table and you use a sheet of paper to mark the noodles, veggies, and meat for each round. The broth is flavorful and the options are fresh, but the service is bad. They were out of many of the options on the paper, but instead of telling us they would just not bring them out. We though they had forgotten and asked for them. The wait staff would say okay and then just not do anything. When the waitress came to take our sheet for round 2, we weren't ready. We asked for just a minute since we still had tons of food. She said okay and never returns. 30 minutes later I had to stand up and go find a random person to grab our sheet. When our items came, the first waitress came over and tried to take our plate away while things were still on it that we needed to drop in the pot. If you've never had hot pot and you want to try a massive portion, you can try this place out. The food is tasty. Order all the Meats, Noodles, Assorted Vegetables, Tofus, Seafood, Extras, Etc (As many rounds as you want, if you get confused about a menu item, Google it for a photo!) 3. Cook your items in the boiling temperatures: Meats/Noodles take 10-30 seconds, Veggies cook for as long as you'd like, Tofus/Seafoods cook for a few minutes. 4. Scoop out items/soup into your bowl and enjoy! *The more items & longer you put into the broth, the tastier the soup gets *Towards the end of the meal, eat the delicious garlic cloves from the broth, it's soft and tastes great! I've been here a handful of times and have really enjoyed each experience. I definitely recommend Hot Pot for more than two people because it's more fun and more food gets eaten (true story). I've always done the All-You-Can-Eat option for $19.99 because it's a very good deal-- when I look at their regular A-La-Carte menu everything that I want adds up VERY quickly and ends up being over the AYCE price-- so why not just make it simple and get AYCE? SAUCE: Pay the additional $1.95 for a plate of the Chef Special Sauce which comes with Satay, Garlic, & Chili Sauce that you can mix/dip your food into-- the sauce plate is a good size to share with 5-6 people. There was SO much hype about this place leading to my first little sheep experience. They have a couple locations elsewhere around the US so it was nice to see them branch out and open up a place in the DFW area. It's located right next to JS Chen Dim Dum. It's really clean and modern looking, but it does get a but cramped due to the size of the restuarant! I was a bit turned off at first by the herb smells, but it went away as soon as you taste the food. There was a 30-45 minute wait at 7:00 PM on a Sunday. This place is BYOB for now until they obtain their liquor license. The lobby area is quite small so go ahead and head over to the grocery store next door and do some shopping cause it's gonna take a while during peak times. They only allow you to stay 1.5 hrs and eat which is kind of ridiculous. I should be able to dine as long as I please! What sucks is they charge extra for your sauces. For $20 all you can eat, I would have hoped that the dipping sauces would have come packaged with the meal. My friend did find a fly in his satay paste, so please please double check your food before eating. We got the half and half broth, which worked out cause 1/2 our party preferred spicy while the other not so much. They have your typical lamb, chicken, pork, cabbage, baby bok choy, enoki mushrooms, fresh tofu, rice, udon. We went a bit overboard and ordered ALL the tofu types since we already ordered the premium sides. Don't do that. We were really stuffed afterwards. Meats were fresh and the broth is very well seasoned and it soaks well into the meat and gives it a lot of flavor. The service was on point. They brought out our meats and veggies timely, picked up our dirty plates and refilled our drinks without much wait. Overall this place is not bad. Our favorite server, Jason, is gone and our experience definitely isn't the same. We love the broth and food here, but the service is so very slow. We will continue to drop in occasionally, but we've purchased a hot pot and we buy the little sheep spicy broth in HMart now to make it at home. When we don't feel like making our own this place is still worth checking out. For about $20 a person for lunch you get unlimited food. The spicy broth is wonderful! Finally, finally, finally they opened one in Dallas. I began my affaird with Little Sheep a few years ago in Hong Kong. I've tried the location in Houston and have been dreaming of the day they opened one here in Dallas. Well here we are. Off 75 and Legacy in the shopping strip next to JS Chen is Little sheep. The interior is nice and new, a bit modern looking. But I didn't come here for atmosphere. You're seated on a table with the heating stove in the center. They offer a la carte options or you can go all out and do all you can eat for $20 a person. Choose your veggies, meat, broth and enjoy. Cook yourself, feed yourself, stuff yourself. When you run out of dishes they'll come by and take your order again. The service is above and beyond what I expected at an Asian restuarant and they seem to have applied for their booze license. If you like to eat hot pot, specifically Mongolian style, come and here and you will be very pleased. I suppose it's high time I write a review...checked out Little Sheep last night with a friend and it definitely earns a good one. I was on a work trip earlier this year to Chengdu in China and got to try plenty of authentic hotpot--and I'd say this comes pretty darn close!! I did the combo broth and that's definitely what I recommend for a first timer. The spicy red broth is so much more flavorful but if you don't like spicy you may prefer the white one. The spicy broth wasn't as spicy as it was in China but that's probably good for most people--I would bet you could maybe even request it spicier? Not sure. I would like to clarify that this ain't no Melting Pot. The broths here impart some serious (and delicious, not too oily) flavor to your meat. It's up to you if you want to dip it in sauce after you've cooked it--the sauces are tasty (but cost extra) so they're worth a try, but especially with the spicy broth, I didn't really feel like I needed it too much. Lamb, beef, pork, scallops, mushrooms, various greens--all tasty. Just kinda make sure you get an idea of how fast stuff cooks--the real thin sliced meats cook almost instantly, and if you accidentally forget about some of the treasures you've thrown in, you risk them getting overcooked. (Overcooked shrimp for me, blech!) Supposedly the $20 AYCE lasts til the end of October (maybe they might extend it again?) and they're BYOB I assume only until they get a liquor license but I'm not positive. And for the folks saying 3 round of AYCE isn't enough, that seems silly to me, as you can make each round of orders as large as you want. Three of us were stuffed after two generous rounds. It is great for a group or an adventurous date, because it's a fun interactive experience where you get to cook your own food and then have it actually taste good. The first time I came here, I was really excited. Good hot pot! Everything went well, and I planned on coming back. The second experience was... um... a nightmare. I've heard of their horrible service, but I didn't think it would happen to our table. Only one guy spoke comprehensible English there, and he was the host. Our server did not understand what we wanted at all. 1.5 hours into the dinner, and our water glasses had been empty for maybe... 1 hour? No one was around for us to ask for more water either! We eventually grabbed the pitchers ourselves from the wait station and refilled our own cups. What's hilarious is that after we emptied our glasses a second time, a server was actually nearby. "More water, please," we said. He grabbed a pitcher. "More water?" "Yes, please!!" ... HE POURS ALL THE WATER INTO OUR HOT POT. 8 empty glasses at the table, and he thinks we want more broth. We did not enjoy getting up to hunt our servers down every time we needed something. For all this crappy service, we could buy our own ingredients for a hot pot night at home. I've been here twice in one month and want to go back a day after eating there. I'm hooked. Approximately $20 per person for all you can eat and just an additional $2 for the deluxe menu which includes udon noodles, watercress, enoki mushrooms, fish tempura and more. I love both of the broths however, I prefer the spicy broth to be more spicy. I am totally a fan of the food and atmosphere but the service and the bathrooms could use a little attention. Both visits the service was a bit slow and we had to waive down our waiter to get water, plate refills and anything extra. Please, please look at the bathrooms more often. There are so many customers coming in and out of this place, the bathrooms are overrun with paper towels, wet counters and smelly. read more

Alright, not quite. Tips for the hot pot unitiated: 1. Order the ying-yang hot pot (which is the half-spicy/half-not mix of hot pot you see in the pictures). 2. Start off with beef, pork or lamb. Cooking chicken (thoroughly) can sometimes be tricky, you may want to wait until your second trip or unless you come with someone experienced. 3. Order cabbage as your vegetable and not spinach unless you're going to pay attention to the cooking as the spinach cooks fast and can turn a sickly cafeteria green if you leave it in for too long. 4. For heaven's sake, please do not dump everything into the f*cking broth right off the bat. Granted, this isn't shabu shabu, but it ain't your grammas' stew either. Put the stuff that's going to take longer to cook, like the cabbage, squid or fish balls, and tofu, in first, and cook the other things (like beef and pork) on an as-needed basis. 5. If you don't feel like waiting then don't come on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night. Also, the waiters are a lot slower during the busy times so don't complain about the service during peak times. Best times to come eat is during lunch. Service is excellent and there's no wait! This place has the best hot pot in DFW. The moment you step the aroma of the broth fills the air. It is filled with 68 various herbs and spices. Here are some: Chili, Cumin, Salt, Fermented Soy Beans, Sichuan Peppercorn, Whole Cloves, Garlic and various other Chinese herbs. The Dallas location is as good as the location in New York. What sets this place apart from NY is the all you can eat offering for $19.99. It is really $21.99 a person with the higher price items such as frozen tofu. Five stars for the food and quality of the food. Cook the paper thin beef or lamb in the boiling broth for 30 seconds and it is ready. No sauce necessary. There are literally 30-40 items that can be cooked. Some of our favorites are: beef, lamb, squid, shrimp, Nappa cabbage, Tong Hong, frozen tofu, soft tofu, fried tofu, tofu skin, mushrooms, imitation crab meat...try it all. My Fiance has been trying to get me to try Hot Pot for SO LONG... due to my obsession with Pho.... For some reason i was reluctant... WHYYYY SO GOOOOOOOD!!! I loved that I could split the pot in half and one side is spicy... other is regular that you can doctor however you want.... I do think it's weird that the sauces and extras like cilantro are .50 each.... kinda seems weird since its a soup place and thats how you add flavor.... MY ONLY BIG ISSUE IS THE WASTE. The first time was when Pokemon Go was still relevant and we had a lot of fun pretending to boil any wild pokemon we were catching because we're a family of nerds. Anyway, the important part. The menu was pretty standard for a hot pot restaurant, but it's rather expensive if you don't go during the lunch special. The amount they give you is decent for the special, and we usually can't finish it all if we order one per person. However, I do wish that they could expand so that they had more than two options for the broth. Additionally, service was good the first time around and they were very conscientious about refilling the broth, but the second time we went, servers kept passing by our table yet it took considerable effort to flag someone down to refill our broth or our water cups. We requested these a few times, but it seemed like the servers we spoke to kept forgetting, and other tables seemed to be receiving prompt service so it was a little off-putting. The facilities and furniture are clean and well-kept, and the layout is such that you do feel you get sufficient privacy with your group. I'm not sure how long the special will run for, but hopefully they extend it. The broth is what makes this place delicious. Try the combo broth with spicy and non-spicy. If it gets too spicy for you, just scoop out some of the red chilis. Since the broth is so flavorful, there's really no need to dip your meats and veggies into a separate sauce (which is the traditional way to eat hot pot).
