If you have to wait. Go next door and grab some Bobaland while you wait! It is worth it. Trust me. Step 2: after they sat you down look over the menu for their buffet style hotpot. I really don't recommend the other cause it is just not worth it. Why not have an all you can eat and enjoy yourself! It is separated by meat seafood veggies mushrooms and others. Pick what you want! Step 3: ordering. My suggestion is order meat first. By meat I mean lamb. By lamb I mean only lamb because the rest are not worth it. (Trust me I always want to eat my money's worth). Step 4: after you stuff your face order some dry egg noodle. It is the best hand made noodle I have ever tried and in the soup you have created from all the goodies it is the best broth in the world. I hate how this place is really salty. But I have a different mindset than people telling me because they want you to drink more water. If you notice they have a section for dipping sauces. They make their food flavorful and salty so you do not have to spend any more money for dipping sauce. The legit hotpot usually comes with unflavored broth and makes you get extra sauce for flavoring. So I actually like it! Always my to go for a nice dinner on a cold winter night! read more

Simply Amazing! Last night my husband and I wanted to try a place that was local and unique. Neither of us had eaten "Hot Pot" before and so we gave it a whirl based on the many fabulous reviews on Yelp. First, upon walking in I was surprised at how calm it was for a Sunday at 5:45, there were not many people there, but all that had changed by the time we left. I would definitely get there early to avoid a wait time. People are not in a rush to get in and out of Little Sheep! Our waiter didn't speak much English, but Hong was able to come over and explain everything to us. The servers were attentive and gave us their suggestions. When getting the AYCE I recommend NOT getting any of the sauces, we ordered some and didn't use any at all! We got the half and half and both were so flavorful no sauce was needed. The spicy was the perfect degree of heat, it was delicious. We ordered premium beef, lamb, pork, mussels, fish, bok choy, daikon, corn, soft noodles, fried rice, and dry egg noodle. WAY TOO MUCH FOOD. We were so stuffed. You get three rounds of food, but honestly we were done at 1! Everything was delicious, there was nothing that we didn't like. The rice was DELICIOUS, don't skip on this. Now as far as alcohol is concerned the mixed drinks were not very good, unless you are ordering a beer I would skip out on the alcohol. My rec if you are going out for a date night: 2 meats, 1 fish, 1 noodle, 1 rice, and a veggie. Go from there if you still feel hungry you have two more rounds! Weekends are insane! My guy and I arrived as soon as they opened at 4:30 pm on Saturday night, and there must have been at least 50 people who were already crammed into the tight waiting area looking for a seat. After about 10 minutes, this first wave of people were seated, and we were among that group. People steadily pushed in, and about 6:30, there were lots of people waiting for tables. Food was phenomenal for sure. We came because we needed a detox from eating poorly over the weekend, and hotpot is an excuse to eat healthy-ish. **When I was here this time, I overheard the server tell the table next to us that next month there will be no more all-you-can-eat!! So I am not typically a big fan of hot pot because the broth was always too plain for me, then I found Zhabuki and enjoyed that. Upon hearing from friends about how this is mindblowingly better, I was a bit doubtful but I had to see it for myself. Finally got to try this place last week and WOW. The broth here is dramatically better and I can't even begin to describe the combination of flavors of the broth!!! The regular is very flavorful and the spicy is a bit more flavorful and peppery. I think I prefer the regular one, with the addition of chili sauce to it. The peppery flavor on the spicy is a bit overwhelming and gets salty after a while. So we had the AYCE option for $21.99 and selected most of the meats and a good bit of the veggies. The serving size for the meats were very generous! The seafood were a bit in smaller portions but you can always ask for more. I was surprised shrimp was included because they gave us jumbo shrimps and after being cooked in the broth oooh la la! It was absolutely delicious. The broth was so flavorful that every single vegetable we threw in there even just for a little bit absorbed so much flavor so nothing we ate was ever bland. The meat was also very tender! Surprising for me because typically the meat gets hard in hot pot places. Food wise, I would definitely come back here for hot pot. It is well worth the drive from the whole other side of DFW. One thing to point out though is that service is absolutely HORRIBLE. Yes, I know Asian places typically have bad service but no.. this place was beyond bad. Our initial order took almost 40 minutes to fully arrive as they only gave us the meat initially and then we had to keep asking for our veggies. The waiter didn't even know what baby bok choy was as he first gave us cabbage, then lettuce.......... Then for our 2nd go round, it took another 30mins to get our food. It all depends on which waiter you get. We have our favorite server, but I unfortunately forgot his name. I always get the half-and-half because I love both the mild and milky chicken broth and the spicy, tongue-numbing chicken broth. What a great experience! We headed here for date night. It was kind of chilly outside, so this was perfect for that. We arrived around 5:15 Ina Friday, which worked out well, because the restaurant quickly filled up. The restaurant is located in a strip mall near a grocery store, and a Boba Tea place. The decor is really nice; modern and chill, and it smelled amazing. We did the AYCE option, which is $22.00 now. It is worth it for all of the fresh meat and veggies that we ordered. We got the half and half broth with lamb, chicken, beef, bok choy, lotus root, daikon (The server informed us that it was good for your manhood LOL!), mushrooms, rice, and some noodles. Mouth... watering... hotpot! I first tried Little Sheep while visiting Houston, and would find myself craving it whenever I was in back in Dallas. Then I found out they were opening up a location in Plano. Umm... no reason to ever go to Houston again! (J/k to my Houston friends). The broth is flavorful and unique - not like any other hotpot I've had. It's probably due to the chinese herbal pruny-looking things they put in there (Apparently they are called goji berries!). The meats and veggies are all high-quality and fresh too. To get the most bang for your buck, I would go in a group and split the costs. That is a pretty big pot to be sharing between only two people, and they refill the broth for free anyways. I also don't think the all-you-can-eat deal is worth it. I've dined here in groups ranging from 4 to 11 people, and we don't ever hold back in what we order. I've been to several hotpots in the DFW area, and I would say this is my favorite. It's my favorite because I love their spicy broth and the servers are very attentive. It's also hit or miss whether you should go for the buffet menu or a la carte. I can't help but to conclude that you get better quality and bigger portions of meats and seafood if you go a la carte. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be. Anyway, even when it's 100 degrees out, I crave for hotpot. Unfortunately, mi familia will not go with me unless it's my birthday or mother's day. This is a little place in a Plano strip mall. A friend of mine recommended them, so we went to check it out. After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried about going there on a Friday night, but going at 6.30 pm, we didn't have any problems getting a table. We opted for the all-you-can-eat hot pot for $19.99, which is a great choice for your first time, since you can try whatever you like and get as much as you're hungry for. But be aware, as it says on your place mat, you will be charged for any leftovers over 250 grams. I can fully understand that policy, since some people tend to over-order because it's AYCE and then the food is just wasted. The waitstaff was very friendly, from the greeter to the waiter and the bus boys. There were a few language problems, but since the process how the hot pot works is explained on your place mat and the menu is pretty self explanatory, we didn't have any problems in that regard. The only small issues we had was that we did not get one of the things we ordered (we were already pretty full, so we didn't care) and that once they brought something to our table that wasn't meant for us, so we just let them know and they took it back. Altogether not a big deal and it didn't take away from our enjoyment. But to the food itself. We chose the half/half pot, which is basically a pot, separated into a yin and yang side with their regular and spicy broth. Both were good, but we really liked the spicy broth. Since it's boiling throughout the whole dinner on a hot plate on your table, the broth does boil down, but they come regularly to refill your pot if you want them to. We tried the lamb, beef, chicken, fish fillet and several different veggies, which all come raw to your table and you then cook them in the broth. We also had the mongolian kimchi, one of the sides you don't have to cook, plus the potstickers which were not included int he AYCE. We really enjoyed the whole process of cooking everything in the broth and especially liked the lamb, chicken, broccoli and mushrooms. The noodles were also very good. The kimchi was excellent and we re-ordered it twice. The potstickers were also really good. At the end we definitely were full and satisfied with out meal. As a plus, they had a special for drinks, 2 bellinis for $8 and 2 tsing tao beers for $6. We left very satisfied with the experience and definitely will be back. read more

Ranking - Upper middle (but I lived in California for 25 years where options are broader) The broths - the bone and spicy broth are good, I haven't tried the other - tomato broth if I remember right, and I believe there was another one on the specials. You can get yin/yearng (English Yin/Yang) style if you want which is basically a pot with a divider so you can have 2 broths. Meat selections were unfortunately pretty basic. You have the standard marbled lamb, aged lamb, beef, etc. and also one or two choices for seasoned beef which have good flavors. Nothing really special though. Seafood selections are there but a little lacking. There is fish, and some good fish balls (really hard to find good fish balls in Texas), shrimp (head on). No squid or scallops, and I don't really recall any crab balls or anything of that nature. Vegetable selections again were lacking. They had this really great tasting black mushroom with seasoned wine (I think Shao Xing, but not positive). Some of the common items like lotus root were missing. Service was actually really good. Some of the staff speak Cantonese, the rest just Mandarin, and this looks to be a Chinese run locale. The waiters were pretty attentive. This place could really use some female staff as everyone working here (the last 3 times I've been) were guys. Nice guys, but still... Atmosphere... low lighting, mellow vibe overall, but could use some updating to either make it feel modern or give it an ancient times feel if you wanted to go that way. The menus could use some work. For example they have that really great black mushroom with wine sauce I mentioned, but if I remember right it was just labeled "fungus salad"... doesn't sound appetizing but the shroom was excellent. Price: If you're on the all you can eat menu, it's reasonable. Parting thoughts: All you can eat menu was worth it, the staff were attentive, and the food while somewhat limited was good. My brother comes here all the time and one day I decided to come with him, it was a really good idea. Im really open and happy to trying new foods and cuisines so I was excited to try hot pot, the way he explained it to me was a bit confusing but the pictures of this place helped. There is a broth/ soup in front of you that starts boiling then you add whatever types of vegetables, meats, seafood and more to it. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, the soup was delicious and it only took a couple seconds to cook the meat which was also delicious. The noodles cook fast too and overall all the foods I tried and added to the broth tasted amazing. I decided to bring my other friend the next time we came but sadly she didn't like it. It is an acquired taste I guess but most people I know really enjoy it. If you like to try new foods and like most things then i would say try hot pot and se how you like it. It was so worth the trek out there! Service: excellent. Any waiter can assist you and we must have had 6 different waiters taking our orders, checking on us, and cleaning our tables. They were all on the same page. Food: we ordered the half and half soup base. Next time we'll just order the hot broth since the plain one was a little bland. I won't go into everything we ordered but we tried most of the items off the all you can eat menu. We got the half and half broth. The spicy broth was much more spicy than the last time I was at a Little sheep in San Diego. The meats and veggies and seafood were all very fresh and after a quick dunk in the broth delicious. When our server finally did come over, he barely spoke any English but was very friendly and tried to make sure we understood everything he did say. We ordered the spicy broth and the all you can eat. We had a bunch of selections of veggies and then pork, lamb, shrimp, beef. Loved the selection of veggies, we got to try everything we liked. The broth was WAY too spicy. Both my husband and the other couple who LOVE spicy were coughing it was so spicy. With the bowl that came at the table, I FILLED it with chilis and we still had some left. That's an insane amount for one pot. I've had mongolian pot in CA and its much better (and cheaper) So here are my gripes: -obviously the spice was over the top -udon cost was much higher than all the other hot pot places I've been -they don't have the sauces that the other mongolian hot pot places do for free included, and the ones they have for a cost aren't the right kind for hot pot -charge for what you don't eat as part of the all you can eat (I do think that people shouldn't be wasteful, but $50 for leaving extra food is not a good deterrent since you can just put it in the pot and not be charged. Doesn't really deter food waste. Overall, it's an ok place, but I prefer Yoshi Shubu Shabu in Richardson for my fix. read more

Absolutely love this place. We have been here several times, and most recently took our friends from out of state. Their selection of meats, seafood and veggies are always the epitome of freshness. And my goodness, THE BROTH! The broth will make you want to ask for gallons and gallons to take home. Personally, I favor the spicy over the more tame broth, but both are incredibly flavorful. Watch out for the little Sichuan peppercorns because once you bite into one, it will make your whole tongue and head numb! Very interesting experience had by our party biting into those things. Haha! The garlic beef, thinly-sliced lamb and mussels are my faves. It's great dipping everything into the delicious broth and watching it all cook. The only thing that is a little difficult is communication with the wait staff, since most speak very little English. But with some patience, you will be able to get across what is needed. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but that can be understandable since this place can get crowded on certain nights. Everyone must go and experience the hotpot! First time at Chinese hot pot, and I loved it! It helps, of course, to go with some of your Chinese and more adventurous foodies for some advice on what all to try. Great location, but so far from home, with Asia Market and Ranch 99 close by. I would recommend you check those places out to make the most of the trip. We tried the combo broth- 1/2 regular and 1/2 spicy. We asked for a side of chilis in oil to add to the broth, as a previous review recommends, because they continually refill the broth as you cook up your delicious items. The all you can eat is the best bargain, even I can eat $20 worth of lamb. We had a big group so we ordered: tofu skin, lamb shoulder, beef, baby bok choy, lettuces, other greens, different mushrooms, fish balls, meat balls, head on shrimp, cuttlefish, calamari. My four around our table were continually fighting for the spicy broth. We used the non-spicy original for veggies. The spicy broth has those little Szechuan peppercorns so watch out for those. They numb your mouth a little, they're so spicy. It's still good. Standouts were the lamb, steak, mushrooms, udon noodles, vermicelli, tofu skin and homemade meatballs. After two servings of everything for our party, we called it quits. That was when you're supposed to throw the udon noodles in the broth. And, they may be the best udon I've had. They soaked up all the spicy goodness of the broth. I loved the lamb and meatballs too. It's definitely adventurous and a nice, upscale restaurant. We got 5 orders of lamb, good quality. They did miss a few things on our order like the corn, etc. They charge extra for condiments? It's only 50c per condiment but I've never experienced that at other places. The atmosphere was nice and lamby (aroma). My parents did say the beef aren't as fresh when they had it here. After receiving a brief explanation from our wait person about the difference from the 2 menus and taking his lead on what items to order for our hot pot. Even with each of us arriving with empty bellies, we could only accommodate 2 rounds of delicious dining. Each of us left very satisfied and will plan of a return visit to sample the a la carte menu. The weather was starting to get a bit chilly so we thought we'd try a new hot pot place. My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday night. We were seated immediately when we got there around 7pm. The lamb is probably the best meat to get here. Not only did the taste better than the beef, but also texture wise. I ordered two fish tofus the second round and only received one order so I told the guy pouring more soup for us that there was a mistake. He completely ignored me and then walked away. Uhm excuse me? I know he spoke english because he spoke it back when the guy clearly heard me why didn't he just reply with even a simple "okay?" Later a girl came by and I was going to tell her I ordered two fish tofus instead of one, according to the paper. She just dropped off the additional two fish tofus and just left. Not even a single word was spoken. She could've easily said "Oh they are right here" or even a simple reply. How rude. This is a great concept for healthy eating. It was our first time and we were skeptical, but the servers explained it all to us and we ended up enjoying it much. They serve a large bowl of vegetable broth (Yes, we are vegetarians and they do have a Vegetable Broth Option). Each table has stove where the broth keeps boiling up. You have to tick the vegetables/ meat of your choice which would be provided to you and then gradually you can put them in the broth as per your taste. They provide a large sheet of paper to tick the options - which can get a bit confusing! We ended up ordering a lot of food and couldn't finish it all, so had to pack up soup in the boxes they provided.
