I am a hotpot regular and had a pleasant experience here for date night! The atmosphere is nice and dark, and I felt the pricing was competitive for the options in the area, with $28/person the base AYCE price. I felt this had more than enough options to satisfy, but there is an upgraded option. Bf and I got the best of both worlds broth, allowing myself the classic and bf the spicy. There was a large, well stocked buffet bar full of ingredients, from vegetables to fish. I found most of it tasted slightly old, but not enough to put me off. Our real complaint was service, being that my bf's choice of lamb meat was forgotten for a long period of time before being brought. Overall though, I would put this in the top of hot pot places we've visited for value and quality!

Happy Lamb Hot Pot has been one of my favorite spots for years and it never disappoints. The original base is always so flavorful and comforting. I really like that they recently added a self-serve setup for most items except meats. The side dishes and sauce bar are easy to grab, and I love not having to wait for things to come to the table. It makes the whole experience more convenient and fun. The food is always fresh and consistent, and I always leave full and happy. This is easily one of the best hot pot spots in Plano.

Happy Lamb makes me.. happy! It's hot pot and it's all you can eat. There's different tiers you can opt for depending what suits your fancy but tbh just the basic one is enough for me. They aren't stingy about their meats like some places - these are not paper thin cuts like some other restaurants will do you. I've even had to tell them I only want half an order of meat before just because I was afraid they'd give me too much. Seafood selection is ok, they've got muscles, some kinda fish fillet, shrink and some crab. Fish and meatballs galore and more vegetables than I'm willing to try. I appreciate them having a hot bar with things like fried rice and chicken wings as well as some stir fried dish to keep kids away from the boiling pots. The wings are pretty bomb though if you can get some as soon as they come out. Only criticism I have is that the sauce bar area gets kinda messy - you gotta reach pretty far to get some of those sauces and some people just make a mess. I wish they would tidy it up a little more often when it's busy, but otherwise always a pleasant experience at Happy Lamb. They have some birthday discounts too which is kind of cool. Be sure to check out the soft serve ice cream next to the bar by the front door if it's not "out of order" like McDonald's.

They've revamped their tableware. Menu is still all you can eat, but they've split it to basic or premium meats. All options are still there for things to add to the hot pot. Service is still good. People stop by asking if we want refills on drinks and add more broth when needed. It's the same atmosphere. Everyone enjoying their food and in good company.

A great place to gorge in hot pot as it is now all you can it at this location. $24.95 for lunch. I loved the fresh wheat noodles. I selected both types of tofu, but it's better to get the firm. The silken falls apart in the broth. The cod fish was fresh and quite good when dipped into my handmade sauce. Bok choy and Chinese cabbage were fresh, tasty and made a great choice for hot pot as well. The taro was good but it took too long to cook. Service is great too. Staff were very attentive to our needs.

We got best of both worlds. I like the pork belly and beef slices. The fried bun and noodles taste great too. There's no wait and the food is good.

These are some tofu and fish balls.

The Food was okay but their soup is very oily. Especially the spicy soup, they just left the peppers in there. It was so hard to eat. My stomach was hurting when I left. The water taste like tap water to be honest. The Service wasn't very nice either. They charge for the sauce! The lady we had was very rude! I would not recommend this place.

Chicken + Beef Bone Broth Soup. Spicy and Original. This place is alright. Could be a little better, but that's just my personal opinion.

Food was okay to say the least, but the right side pot was very oily and gave my wife a stomach and almost threw up. Service had some language barriers and they were rude to my mother when she ask if they charge for sauce. They said and I quote, "Can't you see the sign over there?, it's above you!". Plus there's no actual supervisor / manager there at all, just staff. Ambiance was alright, they mostly play American pop music, but what really threw me off was that there was a worker just power washing the front desk and around the area of people eating. To be fair, it's my first time here as well as my mother and wife. Also I feel like there should be more flavors other than having chicken & beef bone broth Overall, these are my only reason I give this place 2 Stars.

Delicious hot pot in Plano area! We always go for the AYCE option and make it worth it. Dinner and weekdays are $24.99 per person. There are a couple of items on the menu that are paid items which we don't really care for. If you'd like to get dipping sauce from their sauce, it's $0.50 per person, which you must. The meat is fresh - we love the natural prime lab. Marinated garlic beef is too but one of our batches was a bit over seasoned. Vegetables are clean and fresh - go for tong ho, bok choy, and Napa cabbage. Their fried buns are good as well but be careful not to consume too many of those because they will fill you up pretty quickly. Broth: We like half and half. Having all spicy can be a bit overwhelming so we like to cook food in both to balance out the heat. Service: I read lots of reviews about bad service but it was completely different on our visit. Our host and server were very nice, helpful, and attentive. The food broth and first round of orders came out in less than 15 minutes. They also checked on us a couple of times to make sure we were doing OK, and refilled our water without us asking. They also offered us complimentary desserts in the end - mango pudding is refreshing and vanilla ice cream with diced bananas is ok. Highly recommend everyone to check out this place if you haven't tried this kind of hot pot!

My darling recommended I come here after mentioning not being able to find anyone else to go with me to hot pot or kbbq places. He told me I can eat there by myself if I can't find anyone else. I'm comfortable doing this but it would be nice to have someone to go with. Anyways, I came here on the perfect day, a rainy day. The staff was very helpful and attentive. My first time at a hot pot was great! I got three meats (mostly beef and the pork belly), lots of veggies, shrimp, and squid. I got the regular and the mild broth? A bit of dipping sauce. I can't forget the honey Jasmine tea (not the exact name but it was along those lines). I got full so I didn't finish. Honestly, the best food I've had in a while. I wasn't sure how I was going to like it as I'm a little weary of soups, stews, and such but I loved it! Definitely coming back and hopefully soon!

Ask the Community - Happy Lamb Hot Pot

How much is the all you can eat? And what times/days is all you can eat?

no more ayce. super expensive now

No website..... how much does it cost?

    24.99

    Is this place halal?

No what kind of question is that.

I have a shellfish allergy. Are any of your broths cooked with shellfish?

I don't believe so. The broths are either hot and spicy or regular. You add your proteins in the broth. They're not seafood-based.

Do they have any non-spicy options? I want to try out hot pot but I can't stand spicy food.

Yes absolutely, you can choose a non spicy broth and make your own dipping sauce. However I think they closed from the lockdown, not sure if they opened back up yet? I hope they do soon because I love this restaurant.

Do they still have the combo specials, or is it all a la carte or AYCE?

    Yes

Why did they change their name to Happy Lamb?

It was always this name since I've remembered.

When you order a la carte, can you take the leftover broth home?

Yes of course. Why wouldn't you be able to.

    Any lunch specials?

Yes. The people make the lunch..special.

    Any specials now? Lunch special?

    None whatsoever.

Why the extra charge for one person?

Because they want to make extra money. Things they do never make sense.

Is there still a all u can eat option and how much?

    Yes, it's $23.99 for dinner.

Still have buffet? What's the price of buffet?

    It's $21.99 for dinner

Our waitress was very attentive from the beginning and offered enthusiastic recommendations. Our pork bone broth was delicious and we tried many kinds of meat and add ins, and they were great with sane portions. Didn't really feel like we missed out on anything by not buying the extra charge items and we both filled up quickly. There's little desserts at the sauce bar, and also a few things off the menu. We tried them all and found them neutral overall in flavor; nothing impressive, but still pleasant. The difficult thing about this place is the price. A few $ more than Seapot, but you also have to pay for broth, which can add up to $14 more PER broth, which is why bf and I only got one. So while I'd say this place was very good, Seapot is better value and would be my choice over this place. However, bf and I agreed that this place is definitely a better choice over Hai Di Lao.

The house spicy broth was very spicy and gave me a small bout of diarrhea a few hours later. I will stick to the pork broth next time. We ordered lamb, pork belly, beef belly, and beef tongue. They had soy sauce, vinegar, shacha (Chinese bbq) sauce, and sesame oil. My bf did not like the shacha sauce. When one person on the table ordered a (non water) drink, everyone on the table was expected to get one. I just got water though, because all their drinks were sugary.

While the interior layout remains mostly unchanged, prior to the change I was a little worried about their business because it seemed kind of slow after other new competition opened in the area but I'm happy to see them make changes for the better and thriving. Meat quality is excellent, service is friendly and now they include a homemade shaved ice dessert which is cool. The only unfortunate thing is that they've bumped up their "basic" menu quite a bit and kinda priced me out of what I would call a quick casual go-to meal. While I am happy they are doing well, it's just not a place that I can frequent anymore especially being that my wife doesn't eat that much anyway. Would have been nice to have a slightly lower tier option available as not everyone cares for Wagyu. Definitely still an authentic hot pot experience though!

I chose the Premium option, which was almost $50, and for that price I expected a much better selection. The meat section was very limited, and the vegetable selection was honestly pitiful. I've been to many Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurants, and this was by far one of my worst experiences--especially considering there is no Korean BBQ included for the price. But my biggest concern was FOOD ALLERGIES. IF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS FOOD ALLERGY, PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL. I have a potentially fatal food allergy, and the setup made me very uncomfortable. The burners and soup bases are positioned right next to each other, creating what I felt was a risk of splashing or cross-contact if the soup base beside mine contained something I'm allergic to. For someone with a life-threatening allergy, that is not something I can take lightly. High prices, limited selections, and an experience that left me worried about my safety made this an easy decision for me. I WILL NOT BE BACK. If you have food allergies, please ask detailed questions about the setup and cross-contact precautions before you eat.

Great value there - Fairly large vegetable/noodle/etc bar - Waiters were incredibly attentive - All meats tasted high quality CONS: - No true "sauce bar"--I kind of tried to replicate my usual combo using the salad supplies and sauces - The meats are clearly made for either the grill or the pot 80% of the time with very few that can do both. For example, pork belly (grill) is different from THIN pork belly (pot). Beef belly worked best in the pot. Chicken worked best on the grill. Etc - Beef broth I got for my hotpot was decent but worse than most pork bone broths I default to For the same price as Seapot, I'd still personally prefer Seapot. The tables are already set with plates, utensils, and pots with water and seaweed (kombu) 4 out of 5 for decor and ambiance I wish I could have liked the food more, but here's my honest opinion. I paid extra for spicy miso broth (I think an extra $2.50). They mix spicy miso paste into the water that is already boiling at your table. Even with hot drops, it was disappointingly bland. There are 3 dipping sauces: garlic teriyaki, ponzu (surprisingly sweet which I didn't enjoy), and peanut sauce (again bland). Nice that the sauces are unlimited, too bad they're not delicious tho. There were many choices of meat. I chose choice ribeye. You order by the ounce here so I ordered 8oz. High quality meat for the price. They give you a really small plate of veggies to start, but then if you ask for more (it's unlimited) they give you a giant bowl of spinach, tofu, carrots, mushroom, cabbage, and broccoli. You're also given white rice and your choice of noodle. I chose ramen, but it wasn't your usual ramen noodle. It was a tiny bowl with a handful of super thin noodles that took a long time to cook. 3 out of 5 for food Would I come back here? Yes! There aren't any other Japanese shabu restaurants around AND Sonny was awesome!

The seafood pancake is packed with seafood and comes out crispy on the outside, while the banchan (Korean side dishes) are fresh and plentiful. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, making it great for both lunch and dinner. Service can slow down during busy hours, but the food is worth the wait. Overall, a solid choice for authentic Korean comfort food in North Texas.

It is a nice spot to enjoy a meal with friends and family or even on your own. The grilled pork ribs are big, meaty, tender, and juicy. It's glazed in slightly sweet sauce and it has a smoky charred flavor from being grilled. A hearty yummy must try dish when you are here. The bibim naengmyeon or korean spicy cold noodles had a good amount of that spicy sauce mixture (not very spicy if you're worried about that), and it is refreshing with the kimchi and radish. You can even doctor it up with the vinegar and mustard they provide to compliment the dish. The banchan spread includes kimchi, cucumbers, fish cake, salad, and a korean sweet mashed potato. Great bites to pair with the entrees. Overall, the food came out at a reasonable speed, so service is good. Nothing too notable in terms of service and ambiance but the food is good if you want a no frills, simple, hearty korean meal!
