My mom and I came by for a lunch on Friday - there was ample seating and absolutely no wait, which was great. Service was quick to seat us and help us get started. We ordered the half & half broth. You order main meats through the waiters but the rest of the seafood and veggies are buffet style where you grab & go. For meats, I'd recommend the lamb - easily the better of the meats, as I had also ordered beef and that was harder to eat texture-wise. The broth is very flavorful - you can tone down the spiciness if you ask beforehand. I also got plenty of shrimp and fish, which were notably big in size and very fresh tasting - awesome for a hot pot place! Other options you can get include fish balls, mussels, imitation crab, sausage, and more. All very tasty overall! Some possible improvements: there can be better signage as to not mix the common tongs for grabbing veggies and meat to avoid cross contamination. Also, the "hot foods" include fried noodles and rice; I got a little since I was hungry but they tasted cold and stale, so I'd steer away from those. Other than that - this place makes for a nice meal! It was our first time coming to a hot pot place that we truly enjoyed everything! Leo was our server and he was awesome! They have a drink "special" that is buy one get one free, it was $8.50 but now it's $12.75 so it's really just average price for a bar beverage. The meat was so fresh and the all you can see was awesome! We had an issue with the drink special because of them not updating the drink menu. Came to Dallas from a town where there are no Hot Pot places within 2 hours. Since I don't get too eat it often I was very excited. I called ahead and they seated my party of 10 in good time. It was a weekday so I don't know if they were staffed well for it but they did a good job. The food was great. The group I took was very diverse and were all pleasantly surprised by this mew food and dining experience. My only complaint is that there's no ventilation hood so if you're unlucky then the hot pot vapor will be flying in your face all dinner :,)! Little Sheep Little sheep is a chain hotpot restaurant and I've heard about this place for a very long time. The service is only ok and waitresses and waiters don't speak English that well. The taste of the herbal broth is salty and robust with a Chinese herbal flavor. The spicy broth makes you full fast because it's fatty. Also it is slightly spicy and if you bite on one of the peppercorns it gives a numbing taste. The items on the menu are not that good. The sliced meat was more then 50% fat. The honey beef was the best value because it's thick cuts of meat with 20% fat that was one of the only good cuts with mostly meat. The thinly sliced meats don't look fresh because they are flat not puffed up and cylindrical. When you take all the meat it's mostly air and fat because if you smash it down it's only the size of a small tennis ball. The items on the menu are very limited to meat options that are mostly meat the other majority of the meat has more fat then meat. Other good all you can items that I liked are the lamb dumplings, beef balls, spam, enoki mushrooms, udon noodles, honey beef, and seaweed knots. Overall I probably will not come back to this location of little sheep. The main reason is the value of the meal is not worth it. It's not worth it because there are not a lot of items that have a good meat ratio to fat. Another reason is that the ingredients are not all fresh. read more

I have eaten lunch here several times and were extremely satisfied. However, I decided to eat at dinner time today. I was very dissatisfied and had them remove my buffet off of my tab. The chicken for the sweet and sour was so tough I could hardly eat it. The egg roles left a film of grease on my tongue. The noodles were cold and the rice undercooked. I stopped eating after I tried everything on my plate. This place is comparable to the Flaming Buffet in Garland. Which we refuse to eat at because their food was bad as well. It's perfect for a really cold winter day. It's the perfect meal and you don't have to wait too long for the food to be ready. I like the buffet version where you can order food 3x of which items you want to cook. Except, everyone at the table has to do the buffet version if you want it. Everything is raw and you just cook everything yourself. I really like the broth, both the nonspicy and spicy versions. They taste really good by themselves. I don't even bother with getting the extra sauces because I don't think that they are necessary. Some of my favorite food items are the pork, the lamb, the garlic beef, the king mushrooms, the octopus, beef and fish balls, and the house clear noodles. For the clear noodles, don't let them cook for too long because it can get too soggy and eventually just melt and become a pile of goo. The best thing to do is order a lot the first time so that you can try several items at once, and then you can fine tune it the other 2 times. However, it's always been hard for me to get pass the 2nd time. A con is that they don't have big tables, so you might need to split up if you have a big party. read more

Honestly, food is great. The service is atrocious! I have came here numerous of times with family and friends, and each experience I've had has not been that great. There was one time that I came to eat dinner and as we were ordering our food, there was no server to be seen or to help us get some drinks out. When we did try to call one down they simply ignored us. As we were getting our food a male server decided not placed down our items, but instead tossed them onto our table. And every time we try to consider asking for a menu or for some more water, we always given some attitude towards us. I wish I could give Happy Lamb a better rating because their broth is better than most place, but I can't stand the service given to me every time I try to give them another chance. The only times service was up to par, was when we had a female server. I will give that for actually having female servers caring more for the customers than any male server there. A couple of male servers shouldn't even be working there at all and I personally know the right adequate of being a server. read more

Came here for an early birthday lunch with my parents! We decided to order a la carte instead of all you can eat because it was just three of us, and our bill ended up being about 10-15 bucks cheaper than it would've been while also having substantial leftovers to take home for dinner. None of us are super big on spicy food so we just got the original broth, which had a great herbal flavor. For meat we got fish balls and a two meat platter of lamb and beef. Both the lamb and beef were tender and thinly sliced. The fish balls seemed more flour than fishy, but they had a nice chewiness. We also got enoki mushrooms, two types of tofu, and cabbage, tong hao, and radish. At the end of the meal we also got some noodles, since it's traditional to eat on your birthday, but we could barely eat any of it since we were so full. For sauces we got shacha and sesame with fresh green onion and garlic paste. It was very flavorful and they came in little plastic containers so it was easy to put the extra in a takeout container with the rest of our leftovers. The servers were very attentive and came by to check up on us and refill our waters. All in all a very satisfying meal on a very cold day in Plano. read more

I've been to many little sheep before, but mostly in california, so when I found out there is one here I had to go try it. We came in a bit late, kind of close to kitchen closing time. We were told to order everything right as we sit so we get all that we asked for. We started writing down everything we wanted before they sat us. Our stuff started to come out, but we realize some things came out that we asked for - all three rounds - but then others only came out a few. We asked the waiter and he informed us that there is round 2 and 3 coming out soon. The waiter then show up and say the kitchen is closing in 5 mins and ask us if we want anything for last call. We told him that we wanted 10 shrimp and more garlic beef. We ended up only getting half of the stuff we got and even the wrong stuff. This is a buffet and we paid full price for it, but still left very hungry. Everything we orders either not came or just got cut in half. Another thing that bothered me was that the sauce is something we have to pay for. At all other locations it was free grabs. I wouldn't recommend coming here like an hour before closing because service will be crappy and you don't get to all you can eat. The owner was pretty nice after we informed her. I spent $74 for 2 people and in my opinion that is way to high. So high we will not return and will seek more economical options. We, (my wife and I), order two of the "all you can eat" option. $23 per person is high but we desired the option to select a wide variety of options. Add a beer and a screwdriver and that took us to $62 +/- and tip ran it up to $74. Really???? For hot pot????? I realize I am spoiled by international travel but that is extreme. My daughter and my son in law live in a shabby house that doesn't have any proper window to protect the heat from the summer heat, and knife killing cold in winter. That exists for the sound that someone comes in and out. Just thud. When my son in law gets out for work at the field, my daughter notices the sound in a room and just turns her head in a sitting position on the floor, folding some blankets and mats which they uses the night before. And stacks them, pushes them on the corner of the room and coughing. In my old country, Korea, changing season is poetic. Coughing, insomnia, loneliness, someone leaves, sometimes high fever. Our friend Tim recommended this place, and with a quick glance at pictures on Yelp, me and my friends were standing in line waiting to get a table. The wait time was very short for a Friday evening without a reservation. We had a very nice view near the window. Only downside was that the seats, although very good looking and modern, became uncomfortable after a couple of hours. (My group had no idea we would spend 2.5hrs just eating! Haha) The waiters were courteous and attentive. I was very surprised because it was very busy. Yet they made sure that we got everything we needed. From extra napkins to more broth in our hot pots. There is a wide selection of things to add to your soups. Sliced pork, beef, and lamb. Shrimp, calamari, mussels, and fish. Fresh tofu, frozen tofu, and fried tofu. Spinach, corn, mushrooms, won bok, and watercress. The selections are endless! Me and my friends had a good time. I recommend pacing yourself, and not getting too carried away. Hot pot is one of my favorite food to eat. It's fun, interactive, and yummy. The first time I had Little Sheep HP was in Houston and really liked it, so I was excited when this chain opened in Dallas. The herbal aroma really hit hard when you first step inside the restaurant. I'm not a fan of herbal Chinese medicine-ish smell, but I'm a huge fan of their broth. I always go for the "half and half," which is half spicy broth on one side and the other side is original. The broth is filled with a lot of dried berries and tons of garlic cloves. If you're planning on kissing someone that day...don't. The Sichuan peppercorn from the spicy broth will definitely numb your tongue, so be careful. Just FYI, they do have vegetarian broth that is not on the menu. I highly recommend the all you can eat option for $20. When I had it in Houston, we split it among 6 people and it came out to be around $30+, so the AYCE option is a better deal. Here's the catch, the AYCE option has limited food options, but even then it doesn't really matter. From the AYCE menu, the best thing to get is shitake and enoki mushrooms, baby octupus, napa cabbages, squids, beef and lamb. Seriously, the lamb is the best type of meat there. Make sure to keep your eyes on the meat since they are thinly sliced, and cook really quick. From off the AYCE menu, I really like the beef balls with fillings inside. With how flavorful the broth is, dipping sauces aren't necessary but I do love their "house special sauce" because it's so spicy. I came here like 3x a month when they first opened. I can seriously eat hot pot anytime. Hot or cold. Winter or summer...just be prepare to sweat your perm out. read more

Everything was awesome. I could go here everyday for the rest of my life and eat something different each day. I've never had some great Chinese food. It was so good. All the other chinese food places are just plan jane. I had the orange chicken and it was so crunchy and delicious. Had the fish and chicken fried rice it was delicious. And something I can't remember the name of it some kind of soup that will it tasted like a dumpling of some sort it was different and awesome. And also tried the duck and I've never cared for the dark meat or duck at all and this was incredible delicious I look forward to going back and trying different dishes and the smell in the aroma when you walk in smells so good. The service was awesome and the staff was an incredibly friendly and even spoke some Chinese with the servers learned how to say it's good in Chinese. Good food but the service was not the best. My family and I have been eating here for years and we keep coming back because of the flavor of the food/quality of the meat selections. Service was slow, the waitress messed up our order multiple times and tried to charge us for the untouched plates of food we didn't order. We asked for water multiple times and waited 15 minutes or longer for 1 refill. I understand they are short on staff but it wasn't that busy for a Tuesday night and we requested water multiple times. Also, no broth refills or they didn't check the broth. We also had to flag down our waitress, multiple attempts before someone came to take the order for the next round. We come back like I said before because the meat, seafood and vegetables selections are good quality and the broth is delicious! That's what is getting then 3 stars.
