It was good but I didn't enjoy the garlic beef so stuck to sliced beef rest of night. My shrimp order came w 6 full sized shrimps! They have a complimentary sauce bar in the back! Found this place on Groupon (I will learn one day) so we decided to stop in this weekend for dinner. Walking in the place is very fragrant and its cute. The service was a surprisely good considering the reviews. The only issue was there seemed to be a slight language barrier with our first waiter. So we chose the all you can eat because it made more sense. We order the first round and it was plenty. A different waiter comes and ask do we want anything else so we order a couple more items. It all went downhill from there. He drops of the items. We just so happen look up and we had a guest join us for dinner...a ROACH! I couldn't believe my eyes. He just waltzed across the table and up the wall like he owned the place! I told the waiter and he joked about it with another waiter and grab it with a napkin. He held it up to the other guy and told him he had to eat it. I sat there in disbelief. He told the manager and we didn't have to pay (like I planned on it after that.) Then the waiter then says to us "its not our fault." Seriously?! They were trying to be discrete about it. We got up and left. I saw a couple walking in and felt like screaming "they have roaches!" Absolutely no complaints!!! We did the all you can eat for 25$ each! You get a paper menu you check mark the items you want and they bring it to your table. We were given so much so quickly for just 2 of us! Each item tasted amazing. We only managed to do 2 courses and barely finished the 2nd. We were there for 3 hours!!! STAFF IS SO SO NICE!!! There was a $1 each for using the dipping sauce booth we didn't know about but it wasn't a huge deal. Our second course they also forgot to bring 1 of our items but they just relooked at our order paper and brought it right out. I was excited to try this place 1. for my instagram update (lol) and 2. because I haven't had hot pot for a long time! I had it before at the chain in Austin and I enjoyed it there so the yelp rating of 3.5 (which I don't normally try unless I was still recommended by a trustworthy friend) didn't bother me m they have AYCE menu and a la carte menu. my family decided to go with AYCE because we wanted to try as many items without feeling like it was a waste of money if we didn't like something. my dad received a discount because he's a senior citizen but they didn't check his ID... I asked if they need to check but they said something like "no, I can see his face" but he kinda mumbled so who knows. my mom could've gotten away too but we were honest about her age. anyway, we ordered a lot on our first round so we know what we want to order more the next 2 rounds (you are allowed to order up to 3 times). we had so much food and thankfully we chose only the good items! I did notice the a la carte menu does have different types of meat that are not on the AYCE menu. so if you don't mind spending money and eat what seems to be more fancy, a la carte might be a better option. we were so full after eating here but all became really sleepy too haha read more

If you haven't caught on to the new Hot Pot craze, what are you waiting for? I've tried three hot pot restaurants within the past few months and Happy Lamb remains my favorite. It's is a great place to visit with friends and share a hot pot station together over a good convo about the variety and flavors. You start by picking a broth, and then all the meat and veggies are unlimited! They even have unlimited fried chicken wing which is a dish I haven't seen at other hot pot places. Like other reviews mention, come here with an empty stomach! I am ashamed to say that I could barely walk when I left here - not because I'm greedy, but the food was so good that I didn't want to stop! I'm so tempted to make a trip to Happy Lamb right now. Don't recommend you come at lunch, dinner, weekend or holiday, because waiters here don't want to work. They just want to close. Call to make sure what time they close and get answers at 8:30pm. We came at 7:00 take number, wait. After 10 minutes checking on the app with no messages to notice that you're turn. I ask a waiter ( he is talls than others) and being told they they close and take no more customer... WHAT??? At 7:30pm ???? This is ridiculous. However they changed their mind and set we in the table. Do not want to ask customer drinks. Do not want to talk about the out of stock food. Do not refill water. Do not asked customer for last round before they close kitchen. People working here seem like they have a very bad day. They're angry with everything questions. This is so terrible. Really cool dinning experience! I ordered "the best of both worlds" broth. They have a buffet style bar to pick out veggies and seafood. I had a great dining experience up until I notice another customer using the same set of tongs for veggies and seafood and then she put the tongs back in the veggie section where she had originally gotten them from. It was really concerning considering the amount of cross contamination this woman just did. Totally grossed me out and made me worry that I was possibly going to get sick. We got the original broth which was so tasty and flavorful, you definitely don't need to bother adding extra sauces. The beef platter is amazing as well, it cooks so fast and melts in your mouth. I had to take a stars off for the service,, you can not order two of an item and even though it was all you. CAN eat.. They still only brought you one serving .. That irritated me. This place dare charges you 20% tip when the food is self-served and they only brough out the broth and meat. They were kicking us out on a week night after an hour and a half at the table when the restaurant is not even busy and said it is their policy (no where is written). My friends had to come late to sit with us so that is why they were still eating on our table but they didn't care. They then charged us $1.00 for dipping sauce (no where is written) and being rude about it when we question the manager. He said we were regular and should know, but I told him I hadn't been to this restaurant for over a year and your menu has changed so who knows what else is changed. So, the thing is, their style of service is technically All-You-Can-Eat, but they just make you order everything in "rounds," which is different from all the other AYCE hot pot places in this area. You will probably end up with either too much or too little food per round, because you have NO idea what the portion sizes are for each item you order. So you'll most likely over-order and then have to pay a fee for leftover food that you didn't eat. It's a weird system that's not advantageous to the customer at all. The highlight of this restaurant is their lamb-based offerings. I LOVE their house lamb dumplings and I highly recommend this item. The table I was seated at did not have a vent hood, and so all the steam from the pot blew directly into my face. Not great. They, like a lot of other hot pot restaurants, have ice cream available for you after your meal. But you might have to fight through a crowd of people waiting at the entrance to get to it (the ice cream machine is right next to the entrance door). Also it's soft serve, and watery. Very meh ice cream, but sometimes that has to do. Overall, okay experience. Be super careful not to over-order, or you'll be charged extra. read more

Other reviews calling out poor food quality or service... Just hasn't been our experience. They've always been attentive and easy going with questions. With some of the staff, they don't speak English as well as others, but we've never had a true language barrier. Pointing at the menu or whatever has always been sufficient. As far as them not being overly talkative/"happy", I don't believe it's a service issue. I believe it's a cultural norm. I've seen this to be the case in many Asian restaurants. Korean, Vietnamese and traditional Chinese I've had the same experiences. I've come to realize they're not being rude. Or at least, not intentionally. From the first time we went earlier this year, to our most recent trip this last weekend, we've always had consistent service and food quality. We've tried both a-la-carte and AYCE. The a-la-carte options come with much bigger portions than the AYCE so we ordered fewer things as a result. We prefer the AYCE because as a party of 2, we get just enough of what we need/want without going overboard. Like the dumplings for example. I don't need 8 of them, and my husband doesn't like them as much as I do. Same for the meatballs. If I had any critiques (and they're not big enough to change my mind on the rating), I do wish they'd let you take home the broth from the AYCE. I mean, they're just going to trash it, and I could use it for so many other things. The other would be offering half orders on the a-la-carte. And if you get the Chef's Special Sauce, stir it up. About 100% of the people in here were Chinese. Not like Asian American. CHINESE CHINESE. I called to ask a question and could not really get an answer, in English. But it was worth it. Since I went alone (damn you Dallas friends and last minute tinder matches who all failed me), I decided to not get the all you can eat option, which is normally $22 but for single diners it's $27. Not a problem but it's sad to eat a huge hot pot buffet by my lil lonesome. So I opted for their single diner special which included a meat, fish balls (though I only got one), fish cake, tripe/tendon, mushrooms, vermicelli, and lettuce for $15. It was mostly lettuce and vermicelli but I really liked both so it was good. They charge extra for sauce like 50 cents each. The best part is the pot, they put lots of seasoning in there like dates and weird roots and garlic and the spicy one was extra delicious (you can get both spicy and none spicy in a little yin yang pot). Though I think I shat out a stick later on that evening. Yes, literally, it was like a 1.5 inch twig. Some thoughts though, I DID find a small hair that did not belong to me in the pot. I fished it out and continued eating because hey, it's a Chinese restaurant and these things happen. There were two or three Mexicans just PASSED OUT in a booth by the bathroom. Really unprofessional, even for a Chinese restaurant. They were laid out like they were at a New Delhi train station just shoes off and splayed in the booths napping and texting. Can you send them home when they are not working or hide them in the backroom? One napkin. Please change that rule for hot pot. I was blowing my nose from the spicy pot and getting splashed on accident and had one sad overworked napkin to do it all. One dish of meat was not enough, it was just 10 pieces of thinly sliced meat. This restaurant is my go-to when I'm craving something spicy and yummy. It fills me up, and I'm absolutely in love with their food. The service varies each time we arrive. It all depends on which waiter you get. We have our favorite server, but I unfortunately forgot his name. I always get the half-and-half because I love both the mild and milky chicken broth and the spicy, tongue-numbing chicken broth. I've been here with a large group of older adults and then with just a couple friends. Both times I have had pretty awesome service, waters always filled quickly and orders always brought out speedily. The spiciness was inconsistent for me, as the first time my mouth went numb but the second time, it wasn't spicy at all. My main gripe is that they don't REALLY seem to look at the numbers that you put down for AYCE. On my second round here, we got 4 orders of enoki mushrooms and then 5 orders (the max). Both times were very little and the second time (order of 5) actually had less than the first time. We noticed that with a lot of the items we ordered. It wasn't a huge deal but it was kind of a "why bother" feeling. The food that we did get was good and the soup was very flavorful (seriously, garlic cloves and stuff floating around). How to enjoy Mongolian hotpot 101 Step 1: make sure you come in at a time they are not busy. They usually get busy around 6:30 pm ish. So come before the if you don't want to wait. If you have to wait. Go next door and grab some Bobaland while you wait! It is worth it. Trust me. Step 2: after they sat you down look over the menu for their buffet style hotpot. I really don't recommend the other cause it is just not worth it. Why not have an all you can eat and enjoy yourself! It is separated by meat seafood veggies mushrooms and others. Pick what you want! Step 3: ordering. My suggestion is order meat first. By meat I mean lamb. By lamb I mean only lamb because the rest are not worth it. (Trust me I always want to eat my money's worth). Step 4: after you stuff your face order some dry egg noodle. It is the best hand made noodle I have ever tried and in the soup you have created from all the goodies it is the best broth in the world. I hate how this place is really salty. But I have a different mindset than people telling me because they want you to drink more water. If you notice they have a section for dipping sauces. They make their food flavorful and salty so you do not have to spend any more money for dipping sauce. Simply Amazing! Last night my husband and I wanted to try a place that was local and unique. Neither of us had eaten "Hot Pot" before and so we gave it a whirl based on the many fabulous reviews on Yelp. First, upon walking in I was surprised at how calm it was for a Sunday at 5:45, there were not many people there, but all that had changed by the time we left. I would definitely get there early to avoid a wait time. People are not in a rush to get in and out of Little Sheep! Our waiter didn't speak much English, but Hong was able to come over and explain everything to us. The servers were attentive and gave us their suggestions. When getting the AYCE I recommend NOT getting any of the sauces, we ordered some and didn't use any at all! We got the half and half and both were so flavorful no sauce was needed. The spicy was the perfect degree of heat, it was delicious. We ordered premium beef, lamb, pork, mussels, fish, bok choy, daikon, corn, soft noodles, fried rice, and dry egg noodle. WAY TOO MUCH FOOD. We were so stuffed. You get three rounds of food, but honestly we were done at 1! Everything was delicious, there was nothing that we didn't like. The rice was DELICIOUS, don't skip on this. Now as far as alcohol is concerned the mixed drinks were not very good, unless you are ordering a beer I would skip out on the alcohol. My rec if you are going out for a date night: 2 meats, 1 fish, 1 noodle, 1 rice, and a veggie. Go from there if you still feel hungry you have two more rounds!
