Worst Happy lemon branch ever. First, they don't wear gloves or enforce social distancing which is a big no in my book. And on top of that, the service is horrendous. I went in with only 2 people in front of me which isn't a long wait but as it was my turn to order the 2 workers, an older woman and a young man, blatantly ignored me for a minute before realizing there was someone at the counter waiting to order. At that point there was a line behind me too and I just wanted to get out of that cramped setting so I placed an order for an oolong sea salt foam and went to wait outside. I thought it was strange that I didn't get a number or receipt to call my order on so I just assumed they would call out the name of the order once it was done. The two people who were in front of me got their orders fairly quickly, one ordered a bubble waffle thing so that took a bit longer, but after they were gone, I didn't see them trying to make my drink at all. I was confused since there were two of them and neither of them seemed to be doing anything despite having my order and a couple more behind me. I went in to check in on my order and so did the man who ordered after me. He went in first asking about his order which I assumed they messed up on since there was a long exchange between the two with lots of pointing to different drinks and stuff. I saw the younger man finish making a drink with milk foam which I presumed was mine but then hand it to that customer who took it then said it wasn't his. I was about to say that that was probably my order but the lady just reached over, grabbed the drink, and tossed it in the trash before a word could leave my mouth. I couldn't believe what just happened so I turned to the guy and asked if he just threw away my drink. Looking annoyed that I was talking to him he just responded with "she's gonna make you another so whatever." So now I've been waiting for about 15 minutes, seen my drink get tossed, and then this POS tells me that it's just whatever? I'm too pissed at this place that I just take the drink and leave. Turns out their backup drink was the wrong order as well so that just tops off that experience. There are so many tea places in that area anyway I'm surprised they haven't gone under with the way they treat their customers. If you're craving tea, check out something else in that area like teaspoon. And if you're craving Happy lemon, don't waste your money on this heap of trash. read more

Happy Lemon is basically in every Bay Area city. Seating is somewhat small compared to other locations. Drinks are all about the same in each location. If you're not a fan of the cheese foam, I recommend the lemon yakult with aloe or mango boba green tea. Their rewards card also works at every location, so it's worth to sign up for. read more

Their pretty fast and efficient and I've never waited more than 5-10 mins for my drink! I like how they have a system to let you know what stage your drink is in. My favorites are milk tea with tea cream and the lemon drinks . I like how they are not overly sweet but they have a good balance of flavors! Been meaning to try this place ever since I heard about them and their "salted cheese" topping. Yes, you read that right - salted cheese topped on tea. This is definitely one level crazier than the sea salt cream topped tea yes? As far as I can tell, the "cheese" is just much thicker version of the normal crema. I was familiar with this franchise as I use to frequent the Sunnyvale location often. This is located next to the Panda Express on the same block as Walgreen's. I originally found out about Happy Lemon inside Taipei 101's foodcourt in Taiwan. Doing some quick research, I found out that it originated in London's Chinatown circa 2008 and already amassed over 1,000+ stores which means it must be good! That being said, my personal favorite is the Mango Lemon Slushie! It's the perfect drink for a hot day as it's not as thick as the milk tea or the salted cheese drinks. It tasted the same as the one in Norcal but a lot sweeter. I am not sure if you can customize it to get 50-75% sweet, but I would highly recommend if you can as the standard tastes 125% sweet. The mango lemon slush comes with lychee jelly, mango bits, mango juice, and with the lemon slush from the machine. I have tried the salted cheese drink(the one in Norcal lets you sample), the regular milk tea, and the oreo milk tea which are pretty average. The salted cheese is a special drink where they have a layer of cheese on top of a milk tea and you have to sip it at a 45 degree angle to maximize the cheese to milk tea ratio. My sister also really likes the green teas there. Overall, the lines may be long during some parts of the day but rest assured, the line moves fast and you will not be disappointed with your drink. For those who have yet to try the salted cheese I would compare it to, if you've ever been to Harry Potter World, the foam on top of a frozen butter beer. I haven't tried anything else but the black tea with salted cheese, it's too good that every time I come and want to try something else, I have FOMO because the black tea + salted cheese is that good. Black tea with salted cheese, as weird as it sounds, works!! As a first timer, I love that there was a little poster on the wall detailing on how to drink this interesting concoction. The secret? Tilt your drink at 45 degrees so you can get a taste of all the layers and finally mix it all together once you're halfway done with your drink. I definitely could taste the different layers of my drink. It was a delicate balance between salty, creamy, and cheesy all while not overpowering the black tea. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. I also thought it was innovative how the lid could snap open/closed as need be and how they had a tv screen with their queueing system so you can see how long it'll take for your drink to be made. Green tea with salted cheese is the number one drink here that I always get. I always get it cold and I can definitely taste the cheese. How do they blend well together! I've tried their other salted cheese drinks but I just can't seem to like them as much. I would recommend not changing the ice level cause the drink gets cold after a while and to me it taste better when its icy cold. The location is so convenient, but parking can be a butthole. I'm a huge Happy Lemon fan and I've been waiting for months for this location to open!! Not only is their branding super adorable, but they also have such a wide variety of drinks! My husband really likes their salted cheese drinks (basically like a sea salt crema), and thinks they do it better than any of the other boba shops. I'm not really a fan of dairy so I prefer their fruit teas and slushies. My faves include the mango boba green tea (tho I prefer to sub regular boba for the mango boba that comes with it), grapefruit oolong, and the grapefruit lemon slushy (also prefer without the jello that comes with). I don't have to drive the 45 min - 1 hour to Cupertino to get my cheese foam fix. I like how this location is easy to find and it's located on downtown Burlingame. You can't miss it, since there is an adorable Happy Lemon mascot statue outside. This place is surrounded by restaurants and other tea spots. But I'd choose this place over T pumps down the street. They staff are super friendly and helpful. I even signed up for their rewards program, if you collect enough points you get a free drink. Which is amazing! So far I've only tried their cheese foam teas because that's what they're known for and it's never a disappointment. They only thing I wish is they add a little more cheese foam to the top. My boyfriend is addicted to their fresh squeezed lemonade, but as always I find it to sour. If you're in the area definitely check this spot out. I was skeptical about foamy cheese in any of my typical boba drinks, and at first sip, it's a little weird....but now I really like it. The trick for me was to swish it about and have the cheese mix with my drink, the distribution of flavors was much more pleasant than trying to sip a 50/50 ration of cheese and drink. I tried it with a green tea, and it was super delicious. Kind of reminds me of the "creama" drink at other milk tea spots, but if you are put off by the idea, just give it one try - you might be missing out if you don't ;) Overall the location is bright and cute, workers are nice, and the drinks they have available seem to generally yummy. I docked 2 stars because this place is not for everyone, I think the type of drinks they offer is more limited ( but still delicious) and they don't offer food. These teas are all fairly high in caffeine content (even the green tea), so I can't have these drinks too late in the afternoon. I'm extra sensitive to caffeine though - you'll probably be okay if you're a regular coffee drinker. Anyway, it seems like the teas are brewed early in the day and are dispensed out as needed for drinks. The salted cheese (creamy foam stuff) also comes out of a vat. I like that you can customize the amount of sweetness and ice in your drink. This Burlingame location seems more mellow than Tanforan (which is always packed). There are a few tables and chairs inside, but also plenty of spots to sit outside on Burlingame Ave. What could be better on a sunny day? read more

Basic happy lemon spot. Today the service was atrociously slow. Waited in line for 40 mins as they were training new staff. The employees don't care that the line is barely moving and continue to train the new person at a turtles pace as the line freezes and people are forced to wait. This location is really nice and has like 4 tables with four chairs or so. I enjoy this location since they are really efficient in taking orders and making drinks. Now for description of the drinks, I know what people may think, why would I ever get cheese with my boba? But the cheese here is sweet, but not too rich. It is basically like creama but better. I recommend the Green Tea with Cream Cheese (A1), this is classic, just your simple green tea. The cheese alone is not what is good, but also the tea! The tea flavor is here, is really strong and you can really taste the quality. If you want better contrast with the cheese I recommend getting it with Black Tea, since that is a little more darker. If you are a fan of Hong Kong Lemon Tea, get the freshly squeezed lemon black tea. It is so good. Tip: Make sure to sign up for their reward card, it works at all happy lemon locations! read more

I am obsessed with boba and used to have boba atleast 3-4x times a week. However, I am addicted to Happy Lemon. I was referred to this place by my bff and she spoke great things about it. I would have to say that everything that she has said was spot on. Let's just say...if you're a cheese lover..then this is YO PLACE! hahaha.
