Their Taro Milk Tea with Boba is one of the best things on the menu. We always get it with zero sweetness because the syrup on the boba is usually sweet enough. Have tried most other milk teas on the menu as well as some of the ube concoctions; they were all decent but not outstanding. I do feel it is fairly expensive compared to many other places in Seattle and I also wish they just used fresh milk by default at these prices rather than having to ask and pay extra for it. Went to this cute boba place w/ my aunt before heading out to Lake Sammamish. Inside you can smell the delicious bubble waffles being made up front as the boba drinks are being made too. The line was pretty long and they still had take-out only despite everything starting to reopen again. I had their strawberry shortcake smoothie and my aunt had their mango smoothie, along w/ a bubble waffle to share too. She wanted lychee jelly in her drink, but unfortunately they ran out of it. Placed order via Uber Eats because we were too lazy to drive 5 mins down the street... We've ordered the ube drinks in the past and couldn't remember if we were a yay or nay. I added tiramisu crema to the ube black tea w/taro and my partner added Oreo and crema to his ube fresh milk with taro. I love the texture of the taro bits - chewy and delightful. The flavor of my drink was more reminiscent of vanilla cake batter with the slit grittiness that comes with taro (4/5). Wasn't too much a fan of the other - very mild in flavor (3/5). The bubble waffle encompassed all that I love about them - warm, chewy, crispy edges, chocolate goodness (in our case). Not too sweet and the perfect accompaniment. Very happy with this selection (5/5). I've been to this Happy lemon before and have had a few decent experiences. But the last few times have done me in. They have consistently made my order wrong. I always pre-order because, although it has potential, the atmosphere is lacking. They used to put take out orders on a table by the door so I'll order, wait the ,ridiculously long, 30 minutes to make one drink, then go in to pick up my drink. The last few times there are some orders on the table but apparently not all of them. After being ignored for several minutes I went up to the counter to inquire about my order. After the girl asked my name, she walked over to a different counter and picked up my drink that had been sitting for at least 5 minutes. No name announcement was made even though there were several people standing around waiting. When I finally got my drink, it was missing the salted cheese, so I took it back and told her. After she fixed the problem, she handed me a very messy sticky cup covered in cream. When I took a drink, it was very watered down probably due to it sitting so long. Pre COVID-19 review: I really love this location of Happy Lemon because it's spacious and aesthetically pleasing with great service. I don't know why people go to Starbucks with their laptops when they can just come here instead and enjoy great bubble tea in a spacious environment. During the beginning of the pandemic, Happy Lemon was both a savior and a curse. It was a savior because they offer both delivery and pickup options, and it was a curse because the place is so dang good that I ordered delivery so often that I put on more than my fair share of quarantine weight (it was definitely their delicious bubble waffles). Before trying Happy Lemon, I had no prior experience with bubble waffles. However, my wife frequently travels to China and Taiwan for work and was very excited when she learned that she could order bubble waffles with the simple click of a button, or tap on a smartphone screen if you're not a relic of some distant past. I had little to no expectations going into the experience, but the bar has definitely been raised on all other bubble waffles. I love Happy Lemon so much! My three year old niece absolutely loves the Avocado smoothie at 50% sugar with taro balls. The drinks here taste super fresh and I love how they use real avocado. Other personal favorites include the A5 ~ the milk tea with boba and puff cream at 50% sugar and less ice or hot as well. I ordered the Apple Lemon Tea, added tapioca, and adjusted the sugar level. It was good, as I expected it to be. It was really refreshing, with pieces of lemon in there and little shreds of apple. I have both picked up here and got delivery from here and both times were great. I loved the waffles (though honestly I didn't really like the cream and just the plain waffle was better. But I hate whipped cream so that is probably why). The bubble tea was good! It wasn't my favorite bubble tea place but it definitely fulfilled my craving for bubble tea. Again, I used to live near the ave (aka bubble tea row) and I've been to Taiwan and China multiple times so that's probably why it's not my favorite. Butttt it is still really good bubble tea and very good for delivery in Issaquah. The bubble waffles were awesome because they were pretty light and airy and just a great snack/dessert. The tweens just aren't cutting it with their side-eye and noticeable chuckling as customers make orders, bringing into question, what's so funny? The beverages are great but the children who work there need to drop their attitude and be reminded it's a commercial retail job. Retraining in customer service, not being on their smart phones all the time, and an actual adult shift manager would be a start. I have better service at the bell square location, busier but super friendly. Oh and that blonde boy needs to stop trying to show off to his young lady coworkers. However, the hot milk tea with taro ball tastes fine, but the server didn't close the cap completely (dented the corner of the cup) that the tea kept leaking out and since it's hot, it burned my hands a few times. So good to see Happy Lemon in Issaquah. Super friendly staff, great location with plenty of parking in the plaza and their fresh fruit teas & bubble waffles are on point! I highly recommend their Freshly Squeezed Lemon with Jasmine green tea and crystal bobas. The drink normally comes with lychee jelly but you can substitute it with crystal bobas or do an add-on and you get both toppings. What is crystal boba (not to be confused with the black chewy bobas made of tapioca starch)? It's made of agar agar (aka jello). It's a seaweed extract for you plant base lovers out there. The texture is firmer than your typical jello and it's bouncy. The agar agar alone doesn't have much taste but I think they soak it in syrup so that is has a slight sweetness similar to the black bobas. Most boba places now offer customization. You can adjust the sugar level from 0%, 30%, 50%, 70% or 100%. You can also adjust the amount of ice in your drink i.e. zero ice, less ice or regular ice. Bubble waffles is a must! You can order original or chocolate. It's hard for me to pick one as they're both just as yummy. So my recommendation is to half and half, you get to eat both! read more

I love Happy Lemon!!! This will probably be my to go location from now on since it's surprisingly the easiest to get to even though I live & work in Bellevue. This shop is more spacious with seats and seem more cozier with a fire place & sofa chairs that you might be able to get away with bringing your laptop here to work or lounge around vs. their other locations where it's more to a take out, get out store. They also have an extended menu with coffee drinks, there's an actual espresso machine here! Their rock salt is the best I've had anywhere, it taste good with literally every drink. I don't ever order anything here without adding it on because what's the point of living life. I'm just super excited that I no longer have to find garage parking and go through the mall to grab Happy Lemon, must avoid the mall to save money. Lol. Service was great, everybody seem to like their job and enjoy working with each other. I'm not typically a picky person, but a bit anal in what local businesses I support, I don't go for cheap products at this stage in life anymore because I'm always skeptical of how much quality it actually is to be able to provide to the consumer at that cost, so Happy Lemon is great. For a $6 drink, they really do freshly brew their teas often and uses fresh fruits. Non of that blended powder nonsense. I recommend honey lemon Jasmine green tea. Less sugar, less ice. Tangy, a good amount of sweet with a dose of honey. I dunno if it's because of covid, but they took forever to get my order. I'd advise you to get the app and do pick up. read more
