It looks like tea but it's coffee with cardamom and saffron. Beautiful color and the pot it's served in elevates the experience. We also ordered the knafeh which could've been warmed up with a little syrup, but still tasty nonetheless. Not sure I'd recommend this place. The croissant and coffee are good I got the Haraz and Pistachio Latte to go but the service was probably the slowest I've ever experienced at a coffee shop. I'm not sure if this is common at Arabic or Yemeni coffee shops, but the workflow here felt really inefficient. It seemed like only one person could handle the register. Maybe they're understaffed or still figuring things out, but they need a better system soon or they'll start losing customers. The vibe is nice, though. If the service were faster, I'd probably stay longer and order more. There are plenty of other great coffee shops nearby, so I just can't justify waiting nearly an hour for coffee. read more

My friend is a huge matcha lover and found this spot on TikTok and we decided to check It out. According to her the matcha was GREAT! So they are "Matcha Approved" for those lovers. Me on the other hand, I'm not a big fan of matcha, but they sold me on their deserts. I had the "Biscoff Milk Cake" and It was soooo good! Go ahead and treat yourself . I also loved the Interior of this place. It was super cute and authentic. It is a cafe type of place, so you can get some work done In there and they open late. Truly a unique experience to have coffee and sweets in a social environment with warm Arabic melodic tones playing in the background. I was hooked on Haraz the first time I visited. It reminded me of places past traveled, but set in a more modern space. The restaurant is always clean. The staff are great. I come to enjoy their Turkish Coffee and buttery croissants. Haraz is a great cafe with lots of drinks and desserts to choose from. This place is probably the closest you'll get to Dubai in the MoCo area lol. It's a chill spot, and I usually bring my laptop to get work done while sipping on tea or eating a pastry. It gets very busy during certain hours and days, and some times it's difficult to find a seat. I've tried their version of a chai latte, and although it doesn't taste like authentic chai, it tastes alright. One version has saffron, and I think the drink is an acquired taste. The desserts also have unique spices in it, and it may just be saffron that's used in all their food and drinks, but it definitely doesn't taste like the typical American desserts we're all probably used to. I've enjoyed both the saffron and rose milk cake, and I also liked the Syrian cheese bread. I'm looking forward to trying their other menu items! read more

I had heard from a friend about Haraz Coffee house in Fairfax and this location just opened up so thought to give this a try. Everything we ordered was good except the service. We waited for our order for a long time and then when we asked they said they delivered to the wrong table. Our son was waiting for biscoff cake and after 20 mins when i went and checked she said she will get it and I had to really use a loud tone as our was really hungry. The girl on the counter was so confused and the server too. They had no idea what they were doing. I wish the service was good because their coffees and cakes were too good. This Yemeni cafe that opened up in Burtonsville is SO amazing, I will 100% be coming back here for those coffee chats with friends. The place is very extravagantly decorated, the presentation of food is beautiful, service is top notch, and there is so much seating. I am not a big coffee drinker so I loved the Saffron tea! The saffron flavor was so clear! We shared the medium pot for 3 people and it was plenty and totally worth it, it came with cute cups. I also really enjoyed the honeycomb bread, it was light & fluffy, perfect for a morning treat -- there is cheese in it but it's not overwhelming at all. I also loved the Dubai mosaic cake, probably not the most "morning food" but it was rich and thick I would totally eat it again in the AM. It's nice to have another coffee option nearby! This coffee house is the newest additon to Burtonsville Crossing! They opened a few weeks ago so the staff is still getting their footing. Word has spread because the place is packed. The interior and decor is nice! I really enjoyed my salted caramel latte - it was very rich and tasty! May I just start by saying the decor inside is beautiful - the perfect amount of lighting and plenty of seats! I went around 9am on Tuesday and only a couple people there. If you all have gone to El Centrado - literally down the road it's often a fight to find a good seat. Wasn't the case here. I had been trying to do an online pick up order but every time I go to their website - it doesn't work. Unsure if there's a different place to do online orders. I ended up getting a Haraz latte and Jubani. I took off a star because they have limited milk options - whole, almond, and oat milk. I am a 2% girl. I also asked for no sweetener in both my coffees, which I ended up getting either way. The coffee is good. I would get it again. The only thing is they don't really have food either so another star off. read more

Glad a location is now open in this area! There are so many options to choose from, but got a large Karak Chai and a Rose Milk Cake. The chai is nicely spiced and tasty while the rose milk cake is soft, moist, and delicious. The interior decoration I love and there's ample seating. Quick service and kind staff. My friend had been raving about this place all week and how she wanted to go there together. After a long day at work/school, we decided to do it. This is my first time in Haraz, and I am obsessed. I got the salted caramel latte and the Biscoff milk cake, and wow, wow, wow, delicious. My friends also got some sweet treats, and everything was perfect. We went around 6/7 pm, and it was pretty quiet. We have our sweet bits and just yap while we drink and eat. This might be my new spot to get work done and chill. First of all the aesthetics in this place are beautiful! I didn't end up taking too many pictures as it was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon with people doing work and catching up with friends. The service was great as well. I started ordering the iced hibiscus drink and paid for it. Two seconds later I realized I actually wanted a matcha and they were kind enough to replace my order. The matcha was really good, I was a big fan! I also ordered a honeycomb bread which I didn't realize had cream cheese inside. Personally I wasn't a fan of the cream cheese but the bread is a great option as a side if you buy the coffee. Not sure it paired well with the matcha however. read more

It was a Monday night and my friends wanted something sweet. The hours for this cafe was great, they close at 10pm! When we walked in, I was surprised by how beautiful the restaurant was, from a large wooden wall piece about Yemen and just the upscale styling and various people hanging out brought a great atmosphere. I had the biscoff milk cake, and it was so delicious, light and creamy. Reminded me of a light tres leches. We also got the honey bread (bee bites) and was surprised by it! I expected something savory but it was a fresh, light taste covered in sesame seeds and honey, filled with cream cheese. It'd be perfect with coffee! Love coming here. Two cashiers helped quite a bit due to me being indecisive about my order. They made great suggestions; when I finally made my order, I asked for it to be hot and only to receive an iced drink instead. When I mentioned it, the two young ladies were so apologetic and polite about the mixup and happily made a hot drink for me. Came here the first weekend they opened. The line was nearly out the door and took almost an hour just to get to the counter to order. When I finally got to the counter the service was friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering a hot pistachio latte. The flavor was unique but had an after taste that caught me off guard. Not sure if it was the rush of the weekend but hopefully the taste improves once the service gets into a grove. read more

We were waiting and waiting for this coffee shop to open. We had heard how good Yemeni coffee is and couldn't wait to try it. I finally came here and got two cups of amazing coffee!!! I got the Haraz latte and pistachio latte. Both lattes were rich and delicious. There was a lot of flavor in the pistachio latte. It was good but I couldn't drink it all at once. I had to pace myself. The Haraz latte was great and you could taste the honey, coffee and cream really well. Both coffees were smooth and did not have any strong bitterness or acidity. I want to try more of their coffees for sure. They also had many pastries that looked amazing. We will try does over time as well. The atmosphere of the coffee house was amazing. It is nicely decorated but not over the top or over done. The place is big with a lot of tables to sit and hang out. The service was very friendly. Though it was busy inside, I did not have to wait to make an order. The people taking my order were friendly and make recommendations when I asked.
