We also had the turkey Slo Melt with Ortega Chili's which was grilled and very tasty, with a delicious potato salad on the side. Let me start by saying they have amazing food, but you have to get through the woman who answers the phone l first. Tried calling three times to place a phone order. The woman answered and just placed the phone down and you can hear everything that is being said. First time we called, we were forgotten about. Second time, we waited a few minutes and then we were hung up on. The final time, the same woman answered and I told her before she put the phone down to let me know if they were even taken phone orders. She proceeded to claim that they were really busy and it was going to be a while. All she had to do was say this from the beginning instead of being unfriendly and acting like it was my fault that I wasn't being helped. I love coming to Harbor House Cafe, they usually have friendly service, awesome mimosa flights and great food. But today left a sour taste in my mouth. We got there around 10:35 ish and were seated by 10:45, which was great. The manager was friendly as usual and we gave our drink order to one of the bus boys (who was also quick and nice) and he brought us our 5 mimosa flights in a timely manner. It took 15 minutes for our waitress Lauren to even come to take our orders and we understood, we were a group of 6 and it was a bit of busy Sunday morning. But what became quite frustrating as we waited nearly 35 minutes for our food, Lauren never once came to check on our table. So we waited that whole period of time without drinks and even went throughout a whole meal without them. She also failed to check on us to see if we would like an condiments, failed to see if we were missing anything (which we were missing two sides dishes; one in which was going to be charged extra). We brought it to her attention we were missing items when she finally came to check on us after we finished our food. I asked her to remove the extra charge for the side we didn't receive since we were done eating. She then tries to bring the side that I asked to be removed and when I told her no, I want it removed because I'm done eating she gave a rude attitude and shook her head. She clearly knew she provided terrible service when she couldn't have the courage to come give us our checks. She had the manager do it. read more

We had the worst customer service experience on Sunday May 15th. We waited more than 20 minutes for a table which I was okay with but the lady seating people took a party of 4 before us and gave them an option of three tables. This was also okay with me because I know there are different sections and table sizes. What I was not okay with is being seated, given drinks and NO ONE came to get our orders for 20 minutes. People that were seated after us were already getting their orders taken. And food being brought out to them. This is when we decided to get up and leave. We told the lady checking people in that we wanted to pay for our drinks because our orders weren't even taken yet. She NEVER apologized or tried to rectify the issue. She had the audacity to say "I will find out what happened", nonchalantly. She took the payment for the drinks but never apologized! I called the restaurant to ask to speak to the manager and she said she can't talk right now she's too busy! This is unacceptable. read more

I really love this place. Good, fresh, and consistent food. I have been eating here for years and go back as often as possible. The food is really what keeps me coming back for more. Sometimes the place gets really busy, like any breakfast place on Sunday morning around here, but the food is worth the wait. Stopped in for breakfast today during a bike ride on the San Luis Rey River Trail. Breakfast was very good, Katie, our server was very friendly and efficient. We ordered the Big Supreme and California omelettes as "scrambles" instead of omelettes. We like scrambles vs. omelettes- less dry and heavy and just better that way. Wonderful family-owned restaurant near the 5-Freeway in Oceanside. I love stopping for breakfast after a long evening the night before. The food is delicious, the portions are substantial, and the friendly service puts a smile on my face and inside my tummy. My go-to order is the Anthony's Choice: me and Anthony agree that a simple ham & cheese omelet is the ideal way to start the day. I will sometimes splurge and order one of the fresh-baked pastries because dessert after breakfast seems like a reasonable idea. Oceanside is a long way from home, but this is the sorta place I wish was in my neighborhood and could visit every weekend. We had the friendliest servers I think we've ever had at any restaurant! They were attentive throughout our entire time there. And the food?? To die for! Way too pricey for a small meal! When I was driving by and stopped by to eat. First timer here. Don't waste ur money here. It's a ripped off. I was craving for Mexican food and I thought they only served American food but surprisingly, they do offer Mexican food. I ordered a Huevo Rancheros and I was excited to eat. When the waitress brought the plate to me, I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED AND ROBBED. I thought when it's expensive, it'd be big plate but it's small. This is not the best huevo rancheros, THE WORST. Been coming to harbor house 20 years. Yesterday got the waitress with short brown bob at the counter. Took 15 minutes to even acknowledge us!! I went to Harbor House this morning after I heard they were back opened. I would meet my father there once or twice a month before Covid. This was a huge mistake. I don't know what the guidelines for reopening a restaurant but my gut is that everyone should be wearing a mask and social distancing themselves. THE MANAGER WAS NOT EVEN WEARING A MASK.
