Upon arriving she was told to wait to speak to a service representative.  She explained to the rep that she wanted to see what we could do about said items.  The service representative by the name of "Candice" was more than unhelpful.  My fiance explained that she did not want anyone looking at any other part of the car unless it had to do with the paint or the recall.  Candice looked up the recalls for the vehicle and stated that there were actually three present recalls for the car.  One being a trunk latch that would go bad.  This "Trunk Latch" had already gone bad in previous years and since then we have fixed it.  She rudely and disrespectfully came back with the answer she didn't know if we can deny that service and told her that if they thought it would need to be replaced they would replace it anyways.  WITHOUT our consent!! She kept telling her that since we have already replaced the latch and it works just fine that you would prefer it if no one touched that part of the vehicle.  My Fiance also stated the reason she did not want anyone to touch anything extra is because Me-Sam is a professional technician at another shop and services and maintains our vehicles on top of thousands of other vehicles.   My fiance asked for just one other request to confirm that she was only getting what she was there for. Candice proceeded to tell my fiance that "if something is wrong with the vehicle, she(my fiance) should let them look at it so they can fix it NOW.  And that I(Sam) should not be working on the car to fix anything AT ALL, especially the engine.  Because then there is no documentation. In the future if something were to go wrong, (Hyundai) would not be able to do anything for you."  Candice proceeded to say sarcastically "You know it's free right?" My fiance was unsure what she meant.My fiance asked if there was something wrong with engine that Hyundai would cover it for free? We were under the impression that these vehicles only have a 100k mile warranty.  We have called due to catalytic converter failure to find that it is not covered over 100K!Candaic again said "it would still be free."  Fiance said "ok well something must have changed."Fiance stated again that still we were under the impression that the warranty is up at 100k.  Regardless, my fiance stated again "That I have a professional tech at home that would do any work the vehicle would need."  When she said this the service advisor Candice MOCKED her and said "Yes I know you have a "professional" mechanic at home" while rolling her eyes. Still being persistent Candice again tried running her around in circles stating that if anything was touched on the car that Hyundai would not be able to do anything about it.  And that if we wanted to sell our car in the future there would be a slew of lawsuits and other litigations against us because we worked on the car.  My fiance stated that we did not plan on selling the vehicle and she interrupted her and rolled her eyes again and asked this sarcastically. "I didnt know why this got so confrontational" and then pointed at herself and said "I'm not talking about me."  Insinuating that my fiance was the one being confrontational in the situation. My fiance stated that she had not been confrontational once in this conversation and that all my fiance did was ask if they would only focus on the paint and the one BCM computer update recall.  My fiance said "I don't know how it got here but I was simply just asking a genuine question." Candice rolled her eyes again and said sarcastically "Well then I guess we'll just worry about the paint and the 1 recall today." There was no way my fiance was leaving the car there at that point and told Candice that she needed to make a phone call.  Candice replied sarcastically again "Have a great day NEXT !!!" The above story is what unfolded today at this dealership. Tell me how is it, that someone can be so rude to you when it comes to your personal vehicle? Would you allow someone to treat you like this when it comes to any property or vehicle that you own? This behavior is audacious and unacceptable in any form. Even more so when it comes to your vehicle that you drive everyday. There is a certain level of trust that you have to have for someone to work on your car. After being in the automotive business myself for 20+ years you know this. If I cannot even get through to the service advisor how the hell am I supposed to let the technician behind her work on my vehicle? I fell in love with these cars years ago due to reliability and cost. Since then I have had many of them and have worked on many more than I have had. It is so sad to me that one person can ruin one company's reputation with an owner. Where is Hyundai/Kias Integrity on this one? Do you realize if it was not for the cheap paint or lazy way it was applied that we would not be dealing with your dealerships AT ALL ?!?! I went to 5 different dealers when looking for a Hyundai Elantra and a Kona EV. Alfredo actually went out, got what I wanted and brought it to the dealership for $1000 less than my lowest offer. I did not sign with him and then got a similar offer and he matched it plus extras to the car. He is the guy you want when you want a Hyundai! He doesn't waste your time. I don't get any bait and switch tactics, no extras, hidden fees and gave me my full rebate some dealers were trying to pocket. This is my dealership from now on. I went there first just to see if I liked the Tan interior, and Paul offered me to drive the car. Of course I fell in love with it. Then I contacted Jose about making the deal and I decided to lease from Harbor. The day I went in Jose was not available, so Mike helped me with the rest of the deal. He did an exceptional job at listening to what I needed, and helped me get the right price for my trade in. And get me to the payment I was looking for. Once negotiations were complete I went to finance and I believe it was Dave that helped me there. They explained everything in detail, not trying to push anything on me. I had a uniquely excellent experience. I had been shopping around for a specific model and ended up having a different dealership go back on the agreement to purchase this specific vehicle. I called up to this place - which is about 2 hours from me but they had the car - and said this is the deal I have somewhere else can you match? They said yes, I drove up, got in and out with no hassle and no changes after our agreement on the phone. i would not recommend this dealer at all i came in looking to buy a car and a African american male that is on the bigger side which i also assume is the manger greeted me and my mom everything was going well unit it came down to talking about numbers. As a first-time car buyer, I armed myself with hours of negotiation & finance research only to still be surprised by what Harbor Hyundai had to throw at me. All the horror stories of various dealership experiences could not be more different from my time at HH as each team member was amicable, helpful, easygoing, and kind. I came in with my boyfriend for a 2023 Hyundai Elantra SEL Convenience after negotiating an agreement with Miguel & Jay online. The car was unfortunately sold shortly before I arrived but that didn't stop Jay. He went above and beyond to locate & drive over the same model I wanted from another location. While we were waiting, Jay even bought us lunch on Hyundai's dime because we hadn't eaten anything that morning. This stellar service kept going as we went deep into the numbers. Everyone I spoke to was patient as I reviewed the agreements and cross-checked numbers with some people over the phone. I never once felt pressured to add anything, even in the finance manager's office, and my final deal was the exact number I agreed to via email. Overall, not a great experience here. Worked with Ken. I took my boyfriend with me, hes more wise to the car buying process than I and more kind tbh. He is ALWAYS kind to people, even in the worse buying experiences (buying a car). Experience was good until we got inside to discuss the deal. As I said, my boyfriend has a lot of experience buying cars and was talking me through the process, looking at the MSRP, the add ons, fees, etc. He was helping me breakdown the pricing (because as we know, a sales man won't do this, they'll throw a number and see if you're willing to take it.) WELL! As my boyfriend is doing this, Ken was visibly getting irritated. THEN he got major attitude with my boyfriend, who again, was nothing but kind to Ken, WHILE trying to help me. MY boyfriend said "thank you, we're leaving" (again kindly....because trust, if i was by myself, i would have said a LOT more!!!) Anyways, we walk to my car, and we are discussing the pricing and what not, and discussing what dealership we will try next. Then here comes Ken, who apologized. Honestly, if i was by myself, i would have told him where he could shove the apology and left. Le Boyfriend is a better person than I, accepted the apology and we went back to the table. Any who, we continue with discussing the deal. It didn't end up working out. Which is fine. I called today to ask a couple of questions to see if maybe we could still work something out. The deal did not work, and as much as i wanted the car, I'm actually happy it didn't work out, only because I was not a fan of Ken and would not want to do business with him again. I am happy to be the first to admit if I was being rude, or if my boyfriend was. but he was EXTREMELY kind throughout the process. Even when we walked out he was nice about it, and when we went back to try again (he deserves a medal). Just such a crappy experience. Hopefully Ken can work on that temper of his. My father and I recently bought a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Blue 2023 from Mackenzie Lewis. He was very informative in regards to the technological advances the Sonata Blue had over my Lexus ES 2008 that I shared with my father. He was passionate in discussing the innovations that have helped transform the modern day vehicle landscape with safety features that were previously reserved for luxury cars during the test drive. My father was very adamant in discussing the features of the Lexus versus those of Hyundai. During the those conversations, I have to emphasize the courteousness and kindness Mackenzie maintained. For anyone looking for a new car and trying to save some gas money, I recommend scheduling appointments with Mackenzie Lewis if possible! Additionally Mackenzie made the extra effort to go over more of the technical specifications & technology in detail after the sale. While we did have the owners manual, I do want to commend Mackenzie for taking the time to do so as having someone experienced with the cars technical features made things a lot smoother compared to just reading the owners manual alone. They are willing to keep in touch to answer any questions and just check-in and follow up over the phone or in-person time permitting. As for why I chose Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Blue, I'm still waiting to see how California shapes EV laws and accessibility in the future. I made an appointment a week ago for a recall notice. I received 2 texts plus one email yesterday reminding me of the appointment, so they knew I was on the schedule I was told the repair would take 2 hours, so I waited at the dealership. After 2.5 hours, they told me that they did not have the part for the repair in house. 2.5 HOURS, AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART I was dumbfounded. The guy told me that I could wait 1.5 more hours and they could go to Cerritos and get the part, come back and do the repair. So again, I waited. I would have given them one star, but they had Cerritos bring the part to them and had my car disassembled and ready for the part when it arrived, so the second wait was down to 1 more hour. But it shouldn't have happened at all. If they had told me when I arrived that the part was not in stock, I could have easily rescheduled the repair appointment. But they let me sit for 2.5 hours, which is ridiculous. TL:DR I made a repair appointment a week ahead of time, they knew I was coming that day, they checked me in, and then they still let me sit for 2.5 hours before they told me the part wasn't in stock. ugh. My second review about this dealership. If it's not the poor customer service it's something else. I brought my vehicle in for service on November 30, 2024 and mentioned my panel for the GPS would flicker from one map location to another by itself. I mentioned it to the rep. After sitting and waiting for 3 hours. I paid for my service, looked at my receipt and no mention about the panel. Of course, my seat was adjusted and not moved back to its original placement. I can tell it's always someone short who was driving it. I walked back inside and mentioned the panel. Rep tells me it's past its warranty in which I thought my extended warranty covers what? Rep said he would get back to me on Monday, no call. I call back on Tuesday and supposedly someone was to return my call. No call. I call back today and supposedly someone is to call me today. My parents were there two weeks ago late at night just before closing and told me how helpful both of them were showcasing the Ioniq 5 options available. English is my parents' second language, so it was nice to hear how patient the team was with them. My parents successfully purchased an Ioniq 5 trading in our Honda Accord. I went with my parents the second time for additional paperwork re: Honda Accord. The worst experience with Service Manager Miguel Reynoso. Brought my car in for an oil change 12/2022 a few days later my car stopped on me. AAA stated my oil changed was overfilled and possibly caused another issue. Towed my car back to Harbor Hyundai where it was last serviced. They completed a diagnostic and stated I needed to replace the sending units because my car was not reading the correct gas amount, instead it would read a quarter tank of gas but would actually be on empty. Payed $1,252.00 for the sending units to be replaced. Kept my car on full or never allowed it to reach half a tank because I was traumatized from the last time it stopped on me while driving although it was "fixed". A few months later the car stopped on me in the middle of a highway for the same reason. Police officer had to come out stop reroute traffic and safely move my car to the ramp for AAA to come and assist. Took my car back to Harbor Hyundai, they checked my car and stated everything was good. Stated my only option was to leave the car here for several weeks to months so they can figure out the problem, and place me on the waiting list for a loaner car. A few months later, the car stopped on me again this time in worst conditions, gas tank was reading at half. AAA put gas in the car, but it would not start back. Took my car to a certified mechanic in which they were able to diagnose my car in one day and stated Harbor Hyundai installed sending unit incorrectly and only replaced one out two sending units. Contacted Harbor Hyundai service representative that was assisting me through this process and informed them about the issue and asked to schedule an appointment to discuss a refund. A few minutes later Service Operation Manager contacted me upset and stated "We can not do anything for your car because it's not here. You have to bring it here to the dealership if you want us to fix it" as if my car was not in & out the dealership for several months. I informed the Miguel Reynoso I was at work and requested for an appointment to discuss the everything in person with verifications. Miguel Reynoso attempted to bully me over the phone demanding I tell him what the other mechanic found. I told him I no longer felt comfortable talking to him and requested to speak to someone else to resolve the problem. He stated he was the highest I can speak too and there was no one else. I scheduled an in person meeting the following business day. I also brought a male witness. Provided all verification that the paid service was incomplete and not installed properly. Miguel began focusing on dates my car was brought in instead of the error that was made (not knowing I've been communicating with the Service Rep since the incident occurred and following up). My witness redirected the conversation back to the error Harbor Hyundai made. The last 10 mins of the meeting Miguel Reynoso admitted to error and stated "I would rather wash my hands of this and refund you but we can no longer help you at all after we reimburse you". No apology, no remorse that my life was placed in danger three times, the additional towing fees, and paying for another diagnostic from a certified mechanic after their mistake. My experience was combative, unprofessional, and no apology. Do not understand how Service Operation Manager Miguel Reynoso provided the worst customer service experience than the regular Service Rep. Unprofessional and took everything personal. Also Miguel Reynoso had a completely different attitude over the phone than in person when I had a male figure by my side, suddenly he was careful with his words. Not to mention I sent Miguel Reynoso several emails regarding my vehicle and he did not respond to any of my emails. This is the best warranty in the entire automotive industry. They offer a discount on these packages on the day of vehicle purchase only. Otherwise you will have to pay the full price (about $3,000). This is a completely transferrable option to the next owner of the vehicle and will help hold the resale value, which is a big reason I decided to purchase. Each of the staff at Harbor Hyundai were warm, friendly, and personable and we found them to be reasonable and negotiable. We did our homework and looked at all other sellers and found that Harbor Hyundai and was far and away the best deal we found anywhere. Relating a recent experience trying to buy a car at Harbor Hyundai, Long Beach. My close friend & his brother bought vehicles, my friend then motivating me to purchase a Hyundai Ioniq 5. First warning of a bad experience came from salesperson Leonard, who argued with us about dealer markup, on the car I was looking at, which was considerably higher than my friend pad, who bought the same car model two weeks back. I still offered to deal with Leonard on the car, but he walked away to "talk to his manager" and never came back. Literally a week later another salesman, Jimmy, called us to offer up a great deal on a similar car. We refused at first, but at the promise of a great deal we paid a $500 deposit for the car, due in thirty days. A week later a car came in. Not trusting the dealer we used an online calculator to put a deal together, including trade-in of a new Lexus. Dealer agreed to our proposal, I have the emails and text to prove it. We came down, wife test drove the car, loved it. Salesman walked away with a copy of the deal he previously agreed on several times, came back telling us the trade was not enough, we needed extra $10K. He acknowledged that we had agreed on a deal, but  still couldn't give it to us. What a dick. We had to rush down to Long Beach in heavy traffic when he could have told us upfront no deal and then discussed it before sitting in traffic for an hour. It's been a month since this happened, today we got notice from Harbor that my wife's credit score was 755 and still didn't qualify for a car loan. What a bunch of morons. I had long overdue recalls that needed to be taken care of, my trunk latch broke and I had to tape down my car to even close it.. Making an appointment online was very easy and simple. I only wished I received an email or text confirmation immediately, just to confirm that the appointment has been set. They do send one out the day before confirming your appointment time and whether you'll be able to make it or not. When I arrived, Jake was so helpful with helping me with my vehicle, explaining the whole process and even went ahead by doing all my other recalls on the same appointment (I didn't even know I had other recalls)! Harbor Hyundai is extremely professional and their promised pick up time is very accurate. They have a great team and their lounge area is wonderful and comfortable. I'm usually a bit wary on going to dealerships, but Harbor Hyundai is one I would say that they're very honest about going above and beyond for their customers. Harbor Hyundai consistently overcharges for fixes that would cost little to nothing at other local independent mechanics. They charged me $300+ to check my battery, gave me the all clear, and then when it died (the next day) Herb's Automotive was able to point out that the connector had been loose the entire time. Herb's Automotive fixed it up in 5 seconds and didn't even charge me! Wish Harbor Hyundai could be as cool as them. read more

Used Truecar and found a used 21' Santa Fe that came back with an offer of $22,412 including taxes and fees. I emailed the salesman what my offer from Truecar was, and asked if there was any dealer adds, clear coat, or protection packages. He emailed me back the following, "We do have dealer installed anti-theft, Permaplate Paint and Interior Protection, 3M door edge and door handle cup protective coverings and lifetime battery ($4496)." $4496 in dealer adds, and this is supposed to be a reputable dealer. I explained that Truecar doesn't show any of these bogus fees. This was his response, "I'll take your concern to our management team. If you do not see value in protecting a vehicle you would be purchasing, then I can understand, but none of the protections we offer are bogus, they are items that many of our clients see the value in protecting the vehicle and prevent theft loss." Are you kidding me with that garbage, $4496. Completely unethical, stay far, far away from this dealership. read more

The map is incorrect! False advertising! Service department is NOT open today!!! I had my car towed to the dealership today, because I thought that I could have my car looked at. Got here before they opened and the manager unlocks the door and says sales department is open today. Be aware that when you pay your bill, you will have to come in close proximity to the parts department employee who either is not wearing a mask or wearing it below his nose. There are other employees who are allowed to wear bandanas as masks. Bandanas are useless against the Omicron variant. read more
