I haven't been here in many many years. Truthfully, I felt that since I'm older, Hard Rock Cafe would not be appealing to me. I'm happy to report I was wrong. The atmosphere was very welcoming, with a large open space and lots of seating. Service was prompt and friendly, and I came here mostly because my son's girlfriend wanted to come, but I'm glad she asked me to accompany her because I really enjoyed my dinner here. She ordered the ribeye steak, which was perfectly cooked and very tender. My chicken sandwich was huge, with a crunchy exterior and very moist chicken under the crust. The bun was perfect and held up to the chicken without falling apart, which is a huge plus when eating a chicken sandwich lol. The fries were just salty enough and had a nice crunch. I was so pleasantly surprised. We'll be sure to come back again soon. read more

Ate here with the family while on vacation. Had a double burger with fries. Burger looked great with melted cheese and tasted good. Fries were ok. As with all restaurants and bars on this Island, they were out of Dos XX Lager. Something about a supply chain issue. This was a major disappointment for me, as I am very picky or selective. At first the server seemed grouchy or irritated with me. I get it, they were busy and probably sick and tired of us tourists. She was happy and appreciative when she got her tip though . I've visited The Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood and also Tampa. It seems I felt the same about each. The HRC is so rich in history that it will always be worth a visit, in my opinion. The service was excellent at this location. It's so busy here, reservations are recommended so we made one and, unlike a lot of restaurants, we were greeted immediately & actually got seated right on time. I'm not sure if my expectations for popular franchises is too high...or if I've been unexpectedly amazed and wowed by too many mom-n-pop/hole in the wall locations........but although the atmosphere and vibes were great, the food is ho-hum. Don't get me wrong, everything was cooked to my request, fresh, and delivered in a timely manner by a very friendly and accommodating waitress! It just was....blah. There wasn't much flavor to the meal. It's strange for me to say this because most places I eat are either amazing or horrible due to the food or the service. When you hear Hard Rock Cafe, you immediately may think of recalling some nostalgic moments of rock music to your mind. The ambiance here in Honolulu's location is a fun atmosphere that provides just that! I have come here for special events previously but surprised my husband with meeting one of his favorites Jake Shimabukuro. We were able to see him perform live only once before this and so this was a special moment for us. We ate brunch arriving very early and the staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The French toast was delicious and overall had a blast ! Thank you for the memories and for hosting this event! We look forward to more in the future read more

I've been wanting to try Hard Rock for years and years, but other restaurants took priority over it. SAD! Because I missed out for years! The ambiance was beautiful at night. With a beautiful voice singing in the background and Waikiki lights outside. The food was delicious. I got the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was cooked to perfection. The location is great for being at the top of Waikiki and easily walkable. Checking in and waiting is a breeze, of course they want you to walk through their gift shop but we waited outside. The noise level was loud, but its supposed to be like that, thats the venue. Our seat and area was clean, it was a decent spot overlooking Kalakaua. The server was extremely nice, I didnt catch his name but he was a fellow large man. He refilled my drink when it was empty without being asked and he was pleasant but busy with other tables. The food selection is standard bar / american mix. Mostly burgers, apps and red meats. They do have a pulled pork and some chicken dishes as well however we went with the steak nachos as an app. The nachos were actually some of the best nachos Ive ever had. I was amazed at the quality of the food, maybe it was pre-cooked and prepped everything but it was great. Only problem was 7 dollars for an extra 3-4 ounces of steak is kind of high for an app thats already kind of pricey. I got a special John Wick Burger and normal fries and the wife got the cheese burger. I was completely amazed at how good my burger was and since it seemed that this place uses fresh meat I got mine medium rare and it came out rare, which was great for me. The extra sauce on it was great and their shotgun seasoning was amazing. I love onions and could have done with more of those but 10/10 on the burger. The wife also said her burger and fries with cheese was really good. The only reason for not getting 5 stars is because of the price. 2 Burgers, 1 mixed drink 1 app & a soda plus tip being $95 is extremely high. I mean for Waikiki prices its high. Maybe if they offered a discount for locals we would eat there more however for 50 bucks a person we are good for visiting here for another 10 years. read more

Covered the servers name to be cool. But place is a rip-off. I asked for a double shot CHILLED and it barely looks more than a single shot my friend ordered.Okay whatever . But then got the receipt and a single shot was $11.50 but they charged $19 for my "double shot" which according to the bill was HALF AN OUNCE more of alcohol WTF. So I guess that's why my double shot looked barely more than a single shot. But can't believe they would charge me over half the price a shot for only 1/4 of the amount of alcohol. One word...average. We sat at the bar to eat, as we often do. They had an infomercial for prostate medication playing on two of the three TV's for almost an hour for some reason. The cocktails were timid and pedestrian in nature. The food is basic. Our burger, which we ordered cooked medium, came out rare, and lukewarm warm at best. The cheese was not even melted. They used to have a late evening happy hour which has apparently gone the "way of the Dodo" and is no more, which is what used to bring us in here. The service was, at best, a 5/10. There is a lot of competition in Waikiki. Best step it up HRC. read more

I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Honolulu I was wanting to by another Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt so I went there I had dinner ( DK Kine pineapple burger with Souvenir glass/a drink )at the bar. After dinner I went down to the store choose the glass that I wanted and as I was leaving the store getting ready to head back to my hotel I was looking out onto the sidewalk, forgot there were stairs going down to the sidewalk I fell flat on my face. I scraped up my upper lip and nose , twisted my ankle (broken bones on the top of my foot). and I also fractured bones in my wrist. So be careful when you leave the Hard Rock Cafe there are lights, but not enough lights to see when it is dark. read more

Aloha, I live in Waikiki and Hawai'i for 10 years. Tonight 6pm decided to give HRC a try. Small line outside and people in front told 20 min wait, no big deal. So asked if we can go to bar and was told absolutely, it's full service. Walk thru store to nice wide stairs and straight up. Beautiful setup also. Guitar arch above and plenty of memorabilia spread throughout. Asked staff at high-top where we can sit and told anywhere we like. Grabbed two seats end of bar. Plenty of room, not loud, open air, super comfortable and perfect music running in background. Bartender Danny asked what we'd like drink and he started seconds after order to make some excellent drinks. Actually he was bartending alone and he was seriously on top of his game. Making delicious handcrafted drinks for the bar and entire restaurant one after the other. Was pretty impressed how he really cared about the presentation and quality of his creations. Ordered a couple steak burgers for dinner because they looked delicious on the menu. Tasted great with apple smoked bacon and all the fixings to include onion rings with dipping sauce. Burger and fries cost is $20.99, which is amazing for Waikiki and Honolulu for that matter. Food came out perfectly hot and delicious literally within 15 minutes. Had another drink and asked for manager. AGM Lisbeth came out with concern and I told her how amazing the restaurant, food and more importantly the staff treated us. She said people at times are unsatisfied and it was nice to receive compliments, which she greatly appreciated. Great experience and my new favorite comfort food restaurant. Walking upstairs to the cascade of guitars going up the wall onto the ceiling is stunning, ocean blue bar to your left and live acoustic rock covers of Baby One More Time and other 90's pop favorites. I had a sword fish sandwich, which I'd describe as "steak of the sea" our waiter was really hustling to keep his section taken care of. Drag Brunch Bingo is anything but a drag! Yesterday was my second time going and it was just as amazing as the first. We checked in with Matt, the Hard Rock event coordinator to get our wrist bands, drink tickets and bingo cards then headed upstairs to find our table. The tables are decorated for the occasion with rainbow flags, leis and other fun things to get you in the spirit of the occasion. This past weekend was the pride parade so there were extra decorations. Loved it! Found our table, great seats! The waitress took our drink orders, you get one ticket with your admission good for a mimosa or bloody maaaaary. After that we looked over the menu and some people ordered food. They have a small brunch menu or you can order off the standard menu. Be aware that everyone comes at the same time so the kitchen can get overwhelmed with orders and things might come out a little slower than usual. Pack your patience, enjoy the music the DJ is playing and sip your drink. Matt is always on the floor, making sure everything is running smoothly. He does a great job setting this event up! Before you know it, it's time for the show. And what a show it is! The host of the show is Candi Shell. She is FABULOUS! Her drag daughter, Tara Way is equally phenomenal, they are the stars of the show. This weekend they had 2 guest professional queens and 1 very special VIP queen mother join them and WOW! The energy was electric. They sing, dance their asses off, even do splits (!!!), make lots of jokes and of course play a little bingo too. Bring your dolla dolla bills y'all because these queens deserve a little extra love. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. The queens take time for pictures on stage and then everyone leaves. Except a few of us :) I hate posting something negative on such a fantastic event. The only complaint I have is the heat. The restaurant is open air and with all the people in there, in the middle of the day, it gets hot. Like sweaty butt crack hot (tmi? sorry!) This time they had fans for everyone but even then, it's warm. If you're like me and get hot easily, dress appropriately and prepare for some sweat. And if you drink enough, you won't care anyway :) This part of the review is more for the restaurant part of the Hard Rock. We checked back in with the hostess and were seated by the rail on the lanai overlooking a sliver of Waikiki. Our waitress was the same waitress we had at the brunch. She was hustling all day! More drinks were ordered and we got the 3 cheese Roma tomato flatbread to share. Drinks came quickly and we enjoyed a little time to look back and laugh at the events of the day. As soon as the flatbread got there I grabbed a slice. I've had it before and absolutely LOVE it. It didn't disappoint and soon everyone was tearing into it. Even my keto friend was loving eating the toppings off. Everything tastes so fresh! Of course we ordered another. The waitress came by at the perfect intervals. Not too often but just in time that our glasses were never empty. We were wiped out from the show so we didn't stay much longer. Grabbed our check and said goodbye, 'til next time. We were able to get a table within five minutes and got a nice table upstairs close to the podium where some musicians were performing live music. The art decor while going upstairs to the dining area is just amazing. This is definitely one of the best Hard Rock Cafe that we've been to ... in terms of style, ambience and decor. We got the classic wings and shrimps to start with. They were both yummy. The kids got the mac & cheese and we shared the salmon with salad. We enjoyed the meal a lot and the staff here is friendly. Excellent spot in Honolulu since it is relatively close to many hotels. Dropping by here for lunch was simply fabulous. The dining area has an open air seating which continously keeps you from the endless Aloha atmosphere. For lunch, I chose the One Night in Bangkok Spicy Shrimp and a tall glass of a Longboard. The shrimp was fresh and very tasty because of the sauce. The sauce wasn't heavy at all and the fresh coleslaw made it really enjoyable. I would recommend this location. For larger parties especially during dinner, I would make reservations. Their gift store is expansive and will get you another collection to your Hard Rock wardrobe. read more

We were visiting Honolulu a couple of weeks ago. I collect the guitar pins of the Hard Rocks I've been to, and have them from all over the world on a jacket. After selecting a few, I went to the counter to pay, got into a conversation with the sales clerk. I don't usually trade pins. She offered me one of her that is no longer available, and I promised to send her one from Philly. She gave me a card, but I'm not sure of the name. Chiquig Mallare? There was also a #102, which isn't part of the address, so I'm not sure what it's for. I have the pin to send her. Afterwards, we went to the cafe for a late lunch. It was pretty busy so had to wait a little while for our table to be ready even though we had a reservation. Our server was friendly and funny which is good. There was live music so it was bustling. For an appetizer, we got the Onion ring tower. This is one of my faves. Crispy onion rings. I got the original legendary burger and she got the bbq bacon cheeseburger. This is what you expect from a typical Hard Rock Cafe. Just off the main road there is a shop on the first floor. Before entering they checked our vaccination cards and due to limitations at the time limited groups to 8 people. It is pretty cool going up the stairs in the back as you see guitars on the wall and ceiling. It is pretty spacious upstairs and has a bar with lots of televisions. Our group was put on the outside covered deck area. Good and consistent food, reasonably priced with excellent customer service. read more

Been to about twenty locations and this one is totally different than the rest on its decorations normally they have a large Cadillac inside by the bar and large stained glass dedications to rock icons but not this one. Behind the bar is what appears to be a large wave pretty cool to be honest. There is less memorabilia than most other places but some cool stuff there. As for the food they have a standard menu. Food was adequately cooked and was good. Server was nice and understood the menu. We walked in without a reservation and had to wait an hour. The people in the rock shop were great. Hmmmmmm. Burger hunting again! Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki on beach walk. Haven't been here in years. Decided a picturesque "legendary" burger should curb some cravings right? Pictures looked on point! Ugh. Wrong wrong. While I've always admired the forever popular chain and trendy decor, I admit I constantly overlook this location. I ordered takeout... and promptly went to pick it up. They said to wait, so I just wandered around the store at the bottom. The restaurant is upstairs... cool vibe... music... outdoorsy tables overlooking the street... I forgot how much I liked hard rock memorabilia. The shirts... the pins... the patches and old school rock items... after picking up a few shirts I realized I was still waiting for my food. The 20 min wait turned into almost an hour but the cashiers in retail were super nice and funny to talk to. I finally got my food... well packed and sealed for sure! My burger was a perfect medium rare. But meh! Nothing exciting at all. Sad onion ring so hard you hurt your teeth! Weird. Soggy fries unappetizing were a big fail. Especially that I ate it within 10 minutes of it being handed to me. Oh well. Food was so disappointing I gave 2 stars. Food service was terrible too. I think they're a little unorganized.
