Vibe was ok, but the food was just like eating frozen meals from my freezer. The live band was doing all Pink Floyd songs so I was enjoying that, but that's only if you like their music. The other two people with me had their passion fruit Mai Tai and they said that they drinks were delicious and recommended it to the people sitting next to us when they asked us what the drink was. They both ended up ordering it too and they loved it as well. I went and got the fajitas the plate came out hot but the steak was in my opinion a little on the rare side. Better than being over cooked. It's more the menu selection than the food itself. If you like burgers and other assorted beats, it's right up your alley. The vibe is great though. Located in Waikiki, across from the Bank of Hawaii building, the food is reasonable and tasty. They have a store on the ground floor selling their merchandise, and the second floor is the restaurant. Parking is in the Bank of Hawaii parking lot. Make sure you validate. Cost is $7 for 4 hours. The dining area is large, so there are plenty of tables. I haven't had a meal at a Hard Rock in years. I had a $15 birthday coupon so my wife and I decided to give the HRC in Honolulu a try. We went for lunch and there were plenty of open tables. We were greeted by our server Linn. She was a terrific! I had the Diablo burger and my wife had the Messi chicken sandwich. Both were good and reasonably priced by Hawaii standards. With lunch we had a couple of classic Mojitos. They were good and again reasonably priced. Although very touristy I would recommend a visit. Ask for Linn to be your server. I don't eat at HRC restaurants anymore because I don't like their food. The only reason I come by is to shop at their souvenir gift shop. I always buy a collector's pin and sometimes a city t-shirt for my friend. This store had some low prices on pins, t-shirts, and other merchandise. Remember Hard Rock Cafe? You eat updated American classics surrounded by music legend memorabilia and rock music. No? Well, I didn't either until we had a gift card, so off to Waikiki we went. Parking is across the the street in the Bank of Hawaii lot. In the evening validated parking is $7 for four hours. The restaurant is open air. The menu consists mostly of appetizers and burgers. There are also ribs, fajitas, mac 'n cheese and lighter fish and salad options. We went with the shrimp fajitas which came with flour tortillas and scoops of guac, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo; a full slab of baby back ribs which came with fries, beans and coleslaw; and a side of onion rings. The shrimp was plump and tender and the rib meat pulled off the bones. The star of the evening was the staff. From the hostess to the manager to our server we received great customer service. I'd come back to Hard Rock to sit at the bar and watch a game. They have a long bar top and different sports channels playing on TVs mounted above the bottles. read more

Pros: Reservations are easy to make online Valet Parking is validated next door The food is surprisingly good. Typical American food, somewhat chain like but overall, pretty tasty. I can't complain about the overpricing because it's Waikiki. You can't expect any less. Cons: the service was so slow. Beyond slow. Our reservation was at 7 and we left at 9. We are not slow eaters. It just took us that long to get food, drinks and dessert. While the food was good, the wait made it not worth it and is definitely a factor in whether or not we would return. read more

The worst nachos I've ever had by far. Stale chips, very little meat, very little cheese. In general it was a very poor presentation. Pigeons under our table which was indoors. Their queso was bland. I'm not sure how you can mess up so badly in making queso. read more

Not the biggest location, but cool nonetheless with a huge arch of guitars as you walk into the dining area. There's a stage for bands to perform at. Everything looks modern. Our waitress was young and friendly. We ordered huge appetizer plate. The wings and chicken tenders were my favorite. Onion rings were also crispy good. There isn't a lot of memorabilia here, but I was happy to see the guitars from U2's Bono and Guns N Roses were on display, as well as a Rolling Stones concert poster for a Hawaii date. read more

Just got back from our dining here and I am awestruck. The service at the Hard Rock Cafe in Honolulu is without a single doubt THE BEST service I have ever experienced. Our visit began at about 20:00 on June 27th. My first impressions were astonishment at how kind and welcoming the Hostess was at the establishment. I don't recall her name but she was so incredibly kind. Walking through the shop and up the stairs we got seated and were soon introduced to our waitress, Kerstin. Never in my life have I ever met such a kind and attentive waitress. First, she handed us cards that contained a coupon for the store, to my amazement. She constantly came to check on our table and even apologized dearly for the wait for our food, which I wasn't complaining about because I was already floored by the exceptional service. Once our food arrived she apologized again and refilled all of our drinks again. The food was amazing. I got the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger which was delicious, and was definitely worth the wait (which actually wasn't that long). After we finished our food, Kerstin arrived with the check and after paying we left. Before exiting, the same hostess from earlier, thanked us dearly for our dining and wished us a good rest of our day. I could continue on about how exemplary the service was but I still need to talk about the ambiance. The interior is astonishing. As you enter the dining room you are greeted by a large amount of guitars guiding you up the steps. Then you are greeted by the music, during our visit there was a live performer playing the music but in between breaks they would play recorded music through the tvs. Throughout the dining room there was also a ton of classic rock/pop memorabilia. Overall this Hard Rock Cafe establishment is the best experience I have ever had in any restaurant I have ever been to. The service was incredible from beginning to end. We went here for dinner our last night in Waikiki. Was seated at a nice outside table had a lovely girl seat us who was super sweet. Then our waiter Justin came. He was rude from the second we said we just wanted water. We had just been at the beach all day and both so thirst water was really all I wanted at the time. He had an immediate attitude and treated us with less service than other tables. I ordered a salad as I don't have a large appetite and because I said no protein he got even more of an attitude. Not once did he check on us thru our meal. When we were done he asked if we wanted after dinner drinks or dessert and we both said no thank you- he smirked and said i'll let you think about that and walked away refusing to give us our bill. He then came back about ten minutes later and literally threw our bill on the table. We were prepared to spend money in the store downstairs afterwards but due to our poor dining experience we left. Regardless of what one orders you should treat all tables with the same service. We live in Las Vegas a service industry and have never been treated this poorly at dinner. We watched him converse with other tables and offer water refills but did not the same with us. To top it off my salad was hot as if it was made and sat under the warmer while they cooked the burger. We were seated on the upstairs outdoor deck, overlooking the street yet still able to see the live entertainment. Wait staff was decent. Food was really good! Since we both got gift cards to Hard Rock Cafe, my sis and I decided to double date and have dinner here. We were seated right away, and the place wasn't super crowded for a Friday night. I suppose the place gets filled up later on when there's live music. However, we were treated to a variety of tunes/music videos ranging from '80s Madonna to '90s Snoop Dogg to more recent pop music by Katy Perry and Chainsmokerz. For drinks, Hard Rock Cafe offered a variety of cocktails and brews, many of which had the option of purchasing the glass as a souvenir. My sis and her hubby chose to order their Lagunitas IPAs in pint glasses to keep. The glasses have the Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu printed on them. My "Rhythm & Rose" mule did not come with the option to keep the mug, but the server said that the drink was new to the menu. A little disappointing because the mug actually looked really nice. My husband and I both ordered the Impossible burger- his came with the Guinness beer cheese fries and I had the Parmesan fries with chipotle aioli. We both liked the Parmesan fries better; the beer cheese was a bit heavy and made the fries soggy after a while. Traffic and parking in Waikiki, along with Waikiki-priced food and drinks can easily cost you some extra time and money. Visited this spot on a Tuesday night with a tween in tow. We had fond memories of HRC on the mainland, but sadly the HRC near us in California is closed, and we were excited to see that there was an HRC in Waikiki. The space has cool decor and the open air seating is definitely a plus. Unfortunately nearly everything about our visit to the Waikiki HRC was not great. It took nearly 40 minutes to get the food that we ordered, and overall the quality was beyond sub-par - for example, the chicken I added to my salad was burnt and, ironically, hard as a rock. I asked to return my food, and a manager comped the entire meal, which was one bright spot of this otherwise dismal culinary journey. She actually was very nice and professional. She explained that, for various reasons, this HRC is short-staffed. We all understand that due to Covid, we have to make concessions, but this shouldn't affect the quality of the food, and we would have been a lot more understanding if our server (who was very nice) would have managed our expectations and advised us of the wait time, being short-staffed and had come to check on us from time to time. We'll hang onto our memories of the New York and Universal Studios HRC from now on and forget we ever tried this one. Can't recommend. read more

Asked for Medium which I realized is not always possible with small burgers but these were hockey pucks. Ordered a second round of drinks which again took forever! Came here on vacation as we have been to the hard rock in Rome, Canada, and several in the USA. We sat at the bar and the bartender was rude and acted like we were bothering him. We ordered our meals and 1 hour later another waiter brought out my nachos that were ice cold, and my husbands sides for his Fajitas and said the meat would be a minute because they gave it to another table. I said my nachos were cold and we had waited over an hour we just need our check. The bartender was mad because the manager came up and said we did not have to pay for our 2 drinks and she was sorry for the bad service. Never been to a hardrock restaurant before.. had loud rock music playing throughout the night of course which adds to the fun vibe. The Bar looked nice had a good setup. Bartender was nice, I ordered my food and for what I pay for the portion size was so small. I was a bit disappointed with that. It was a cool experience but listening to loud music isn't preferred by me. Had a good time and experience but I will probably choose to go elsewhere read more
