Jonathan and Nick are awesome! I struggled finding available movers on the specific weekend I needed to move out because it's moving season (and I only had a 2 day period to get out of my old place and into my new place). On top of that, I was out of town traveling for work so it was stressful trying to find available, reasonable movers in time within the week I'll have to move out. Not only was Jonathan available, he was also fair with the quote. I appreciate their timeliness when arriving (they said 7am-8am arrival but actually came 30 min early and didn't charge me for the early arrival), and they were fast, efficient, and careful with all my stuff (and I hadn't moved in 3+ years so it was a lot of stuff). He and Nick were also friendly, even though it was early and I was half awake. I appreciated they also helped take apart and assemble my bed carefully, pointing out the fact that the previous person who put my bed together years ago hadn't put in one of the leg posts correctly. Needed a slightly complicated and moderately large two-day move from a townhouse and a storage unit into a house we bought. I ended up sending out nine estimate requests to movers; out of those, two ghosted me, three weren't available, and only one - Harder's - volunteered to do a walkthrough to get a good estimate. Despite me accidentally underestimating the size of the storage unit, they did a great job and somehow came in under budget; on top of that, they organized the move to get our beds to the house on the first day to ensure the minimum amount of time on inflatable mattresses. This was my first time to use professional movers. I performed my due diligence for my 1250 sq ft downtown (high-rise) condo, and inquired with five different moving companies to receive bids. Not only was Harder's bid very competitive, but they actually came on-site prior to quoting to examine the space, to meet me and to better understand all aspects and logistics of the move. That really impressed me and made me confident that bid itself would be more sophisticated than just an algorithm or guesstimate. The movers arrived early, nothing was damaged, there were no hidden or additional costs, and everything from scheduling to payment was handled very professionally. I have never actually done a review on Yelp, however, being in the Customer Service field, I really do appreciate great service and wanted to take a moment to give praise where it is due. I realize that good reviews are harder to come by, because so many people only take the time to write a review if their service was poor. I felt the need to write this review though because Jonathan and his team went above and beyond, and went the extra mile and seemed to care about my things and making sure things were done right. I only gave 3 days notice that I needed movers ASAP. He was sure to add me onto his already busy Saturday, first thing in the morning. He communicated with me every step of the way and I knew exactly when they were coming. He called the night before to confirm and double check to see if I needed any other moving supplies before they headed my way. He text the morning of to let me know they were on the way and when I could expect them. No surprises. I was only moving from one unit to another in the same complex, so I feel like some others may have short-cut a few of the moving processes since a long haul was not needed and there is likely a lot less risk of breakage occurring since it was literally only 3 turns between buildings. That being said, they treated my move with the same care as I feel they would if it was being moved across town or across the state. They did all of this quickly and efficiently as possible and were mindful that I was paying by the hour, which I greatly appreciated. (BTW, pricing was all-inclusive and time started and ended at my place, not when they left to head to my place). They did everything I asked of them and offered to move and arrange things the way I would like and offered to come back to hook up my washer and dryer if I needed it after maintenance took care of something that was needed prior to it being hooked up. They noticed I had wood floors in my new place and they suggested moving pads be added to my furniture so that I did not scratch the floors. Something I had not actually thought of. I went right out and bought felt pads to put on all of the legs of all of my furniture, so that I could preserve the wood floors. I greatly appreciated the personal care they took with my things and their professionalism. Jonathan runs a top notch moving service and his guys were professional and courteous as well. Jonathan and his team did a fantastic job with my last-minute move. They came a day before to look at my apartment and drop off boxes, which helped calm my nerves about the move. He was present to supervise his movers during the bulk of the move. I moved from Austin to San Antonio, so I left before the moving team to head down. Never followed up on a request for an estimate. I had additional questions and rather than tell me they couldn't do the job, they just never responded. Prices are ridiculously high for a move that was less than a mile away from the original home and it seems they were trying to add time by adding shrink wrap to furniture. Who needs a couch shrink wrapped that is going up the street? It takes time to wrap and time to unwrap and time is money. I can't personally attest to their work as they never bothered to get back to me. read more

These guys are awesome!!! Not only are they all over the map (AKA all over Texas), but Jonathan was willing to work with us to get my friend moved out of her anything but ideal living situation. She wanted to move on a Friday evening because I came from out of town to help her move with only the weekend available. Harder's Movers had a lot going on Friday, but Jonathan said if we really wanted to be out Friday he could have us out, but it would be late. We said the sooner the better! So after they drove down from another move in Dallas, they had us moved in under 2 hours!!! Not only did they work with our timeframe, but they were quick, strong and not to mention, um, eye candy. By my count, I've moved about 10 times since 2005. I have never had a more pleasant moving experience than with Jonathan at Harder's movers. This was also my longest move - from Texas to California - AND included moving a car. I used UShip to take bids from various companies on our move, and Jonathan's excellent feedback on that site and very reasonable bid convinced me to go with his company. I booked with him, and then, on very short notice, had to push back the date of our move. Jonathan was still able to accommodate us, AND made it easy for us to add on a trailer to move our car with our stuff. I really appreciated his flexibility with the whole process. He came by before the move to check out what we would be taking, and to offer packing suggestions. We were also in frequent contact by phone and text. I've never had a mover who was so good at communication. One time a mover even 'lost' my booking. So that also impressed me. My boyfriend supervised the move on the loading-up side. He too was impressed by Jonathan's professionalism, and assured me that we were in good hands. Jonathan's team loaded everything efficiently and gently and even helped repack some fragiles that we had sloppily wrapped. Jonathan let me know when he got to LA, and was very prompt with delivery (I arrived in LA at 9am, got into my new place at 10:30, and they were there and unloading by 11:00am. His crew was also super helpful and one of them prevented me from getting seriously sick - our building is brand new and I was about to get water from the faucet, but brand new pipes are coated with soap, so you're supposed to let the water run the soap out first before drinking from the tap. Needless to say if he hadn't been there to warn me I would probably be pretty sick right now. Anyway, our stuff was all unloaded and set up in under 3 hours (This is a 3rd floor apartment with some stairs, an elevator, and then a long hallway to our apartment). One table corner was barely scratched, and Jonathan was extremely apologetic about it and offered many solutions and was very amenable to getting it fixed (I wasn't super worried about it). I'm pretty much unpacked now, and the only other thing that broke was ONE wine glass. Which i packed. So I would say that's an amazing track record for a 1,400 mile move. I wish I had known about Harder's movers for my last moves. Don't waste time with other companies, Harder's is the way to go. read more

I was super excited to get the moving done but got a call on the morning of our move that his guys didn't show since it was the night after Halloween. Big disappointment but it ended up working out and Jonathan really cut us a deal. The 5 star review comes from the fact that they made every effort to accommodate me and my dumb situation. First I had a ton of stuff and a confusing move. Sent me a quote. Maybe predictably I decided to just let the stuff go so they suggested some places I could donate to. Then, when I couldn't get rid of a couch they were very flexible on when they could come by and help me get rid of it. It was a big help during a stressful week. I have used three different moving companies in the past year, and these guys are the only ones I would recommend. I had them pick up a Thomasville dining set and two hutches that I found on Craigslist that were about 45 minutes from my house. This furniture was super heavy. Two guys picked it up and delivered it safe and sound. They wrapped it and used protective blankets and did not get any scratches. One of the guys was very careful to make sure the table was centered perfectly in the dining area and that the hutches lined up perfectly. They also put all the glass shelves in for me. They charged me a flat fee, so they were not doing the extra work to make it take longer. A week later, I hired them to get a U-shaped desk I found in Craigslist. They paid for it up front, picked it up, and assembled it. I had a keyboard drawer on my old desk that they took and installed on the new desk for me for free. These guys are very conscientious about making the customer happy. They don't just drop your furniture off and leave. They make sure it is where you want it. The whole reason I had to get a new desk was because the NJ movers who took it apart forgot to put the hardware on the moving truck and put painter's tape directly on it, which peeled off the veneer. The Austin movers who unloaded it tried to put it together, not realizing hardware was missing, and started drilling holes to assemble it. They left, and when I went to move it, the desk collapsed. So, if you want the job done right, hire these guys. They also communicate with you throughout the job and stick closely to the time frame promised. I will not use anyone else if I ever have to move or need furniture picked up and delivered. They are the best! read more

Jonathan and his crew moved me from Austin,TX to Mount Dora , FL on April 3rd, 2020 during the coronavirus outbreak. They packed me up on Friday the 3rd and delivered my belongings to my new home in Florida on Sunday the 5th! I can not express how great my experience was with this company. They wrapped all my furniture with care, even the stuff that wasn't in the best condition. They gave me a very fair price for a personal move and even gave me a discount when they were able to combine my move with another that was in the same vicinity. During the whole process, Jonathan was in touch and available to me with any questions I had. He supplied adequate boxes to me as I requested to pack most of my belongings myself. I left on Saturday the 4th for Florida. Jonathan texted me to make sure I was making the drive okay and asked about possible checkpoints along the way. On Sunday, he kept me informed of his progress and his ETA to my location. Upon arrival, he and his crew unloaded my belongings and set everything up as I wanted. He even set up my TV and made sure it was working before they left. Jonathan then texted me on Monday before he headed back to Austin to make sure everything was okay. I contacted the company for a quote to move a large table and chairs bought locally, I received a response via email very quickly. Everything was easy, the time was agreed, the quote was reasonable, all communications were friendly and clear. I arranged this fairly last minute and Jonathan and co were able to accommodate all my requests with less than 24 hours notice. I really appreciated the extra care they took at both the seller's house and my own. Blankets were draped over railings, big wooden chairs were placed carefully on wooden floors. Jonathan even gave me a tip about chair leg pads to avoid damage to the floors. To give an idea of how smoothly Harder's Movers handled the job: we arranged 8am pickup at the sellers house. The team communicated via text to confirm they were on their way etc. I arrived at 7.50am, to find the truck ready and waiting. Loading started just before 8am, everything was loaded meticulously and I was back in my own car by 8.05am while the guys tied everything down. Furniture was wrapped and stowed carefully on the truck. By 8.45am the table and six chairs were set up in new home as if they had always been there, each chair precisely arranged by Jonathan and his colleague.
