Outstanding, once again. Stopped in to get some drinks and shared a delightful order of spinach artichoke Panini. It was mouthwatering comfort food with a little sweet finish. That went perfect with my famous monsters, pumpkin seasonal beer, and my wife's rose Maza glass of wine. The staff are always so kind so pleasant so friendly and engaging. So I've eaten here a few times and wanted to wait until I gave a review. It's soooo close but just misses the mark. I've had the fried chicken sandwich which tasted fishy like they used the same batter as the fish and chips or used the same frier oil and it was just a weird taste and very greasy. I also got the brisket quesadilla which was too much cheese, not enough brisket and the brisket was dry. Had the H&P fries which is bacon and gorgonzola cheese with a Balsamic glaze and the cheese was just the wrong cheese. It's way too heavy flavor for it though there needs to be a vehicle for the bacon and Balsamic but maybe a Swiss would be better. Just way too heavy. The fries themselves are killer and I wanted it to be good but really hard to get through. Again. So close to being good but so far disappointed. read more

These guys are going through a transition so maybe this review will be premature. We loved their food while they were in Doylestown but they have moved closer to home in Lansdale at the site of a local brewery. ( My son said the food at the former tenant sucked). First the good part. We were hoping the menu they posted online was THE menu but it's not. The hummus plate was substantial and delicious as was the mushroom flatbread. The end of the good part. They are still linked to the brewery somehow cause the bar is the keynote. We arrived on a Saturday midafternoon and the bar had a number of loud, raucous individuals that were having a fun time with the tender. The tender was also the server for our table. The furnishings look beat, the walls dark with skateboard stuff and the environment was not inviting for dining. The menu is just a single page of bar food not at all what we were expecting from the website. The place just looks beat. The server both working the bar and tables made service disconnected and rushed. I sure hope they get it together. read more

Just had our first order from Harper and Penny. Got two sandwiches. The heading at the top of sandwiches said "comes with french fries or side salad". My pulled pork description listed several kinds of cheese to choose from. When we got the bill there was a $5 charge each for fries and a $1 charge for cheese. That's $11 extra. My husband got the fried chicken sandwich which was hard to chew and thigh meat not breast. Will not be going back. Once and done! read more

We were trying to get into Hopscotch but they were packed without seating, and we were hungry as well, so decided to try this place out. Pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is casual but bright. Excellent cocktail list and the Bartender really cares about making quality drinks. The food is fresh. The owner is very nice and invested in the restaurant. read more

Harper and Penny's is a hidden gem in the Doylestown Matketplace. They serve a variety of fresh made food items along with delicious Pennsylvania cocktails, wine, and beer. We stopped by at 2:30 on a Sunday and we asked if they were still serving lunch / brunch and they said Yes! We sat down and I started with the lavender martini! It was good. Maybe a tad sweet for my liking but flowery and delicious. We ordered the roast beef sandwich special and I ordered the toast with pepper salsa. Both were fresh and delicious! The place is quaint and has a great small town feel. Both the bartender and the owner, Jamal were super friendly and made us feel welcome. They actually told us after we ordered that they close at 2:00 on a Sunday but they would never turn us down as we were excited to try them! We will definitely be back! read more

Always listen to the locals! I was in Doylestown, looking for a place for dinner. Two shop owners told me to head to The Hattery in the Doylestown Inn. They both actually raved about it. But no. I chose Harper and Penny which was located in a shopping and eating indoor alley. What a mistake. Had one of the worst meals ever. My waiter who only works on Thursday was lovely and attentive. But I think the chef was more concerned with dancing to Janet Jackson than the food. Tasteless. Uninspired. Lazy. I ordered the "flight" of sliders; chicken, cauliflower and beef with french fries for $16. The chicken was horrible. Tasteless. No condiments. Nothing but tasteless, boiled chicken that was gray in color, with a cold slice of tomato and salad greens on a cold bun that wasn't even toasted. The cauliflower slider was two tiny bits of cauliflower with tomato and lettuce. Zero anything on top. The beef slider was topped with a piece of Brie and zero anything, as well. What does it take to make some siracha mayo or bacon jam? My word. Go buy some at Wegman's. Of all the food options in Doylestown, Harper and Penny should be at the bottom of the list. LOVE THIS PLACE! husband and I found this place walking through the marketplace and decided to to stop in. The menu had plenty of good options even for me being a vegetarian. The food was delicious and the cocktails were amazing. I have to say that the bartender Nate has to be the best bartender in town! He not only was bartending but serving tables and running food out to tables as well. What we found impressive was how he was able to engage with everyone while he was doing all of those things and doing it all with ease. He made sure that everyone was having a great time. Places looks great. Service was good.... However, food was awful. Paid 90$ for a salad, hummus plate, wings and two drinks. My wife and I got food poisoning from grey, reheated, microwaved steak over mixed green balsamic salad from acme. read more

We live in Town and IMO this place has the Best wings in Doylestown. Great atmosphere and fresh and delicious food. A hidden gem.

Disappointing. Our waiter Jason was friendly and that's the only reason this gets an extra star. Both of us got the roasted chicken thigh sandwich, granted I would never put chicken thighs on a sandwich so that's an odd move but I didn't want the fried chicken. Everything here is overpriced. Service is slow because they're serving hopscotch as well. The chicken pieces were thicker than both pieces of bread put together, half of which was soggy, it was basically toasted plain ass wonder bread. Not spicy at all, way too greasy and fell apart as soon as you take the toothpick out. Fries were clearly out of the bag shitty frozen crap - why doesn't anyone make anything quality anymore? Fries are the easiest thing to make from scratch and have it be a selling point. Very strange menu, lots of meatless options if you're vegetarian but who wants a collard green sandwich?? Just once again disappointed by the doylestown restaurant scene, not surprised. read more
