My neighbor goes here every Sunday for breakfast, so when we had guests in town we figured we should all try this place. It is so good! I ate EVERYTHING on my plate, which is something I don't normally do. I ordered the French toast and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. I also ordered a side of sausage and just LOVE when the syrup starts to mix with the saltiness of sausage. The other 3 in my party ate everything on their plate too. It's a good, local spot. I'm giving Harry's three stars because the food was excellent and the atmosphere was nice...but our service was absolute rubbish. Kathy was super rude, the very first thing she said to our table was "you ready to order?" No hi, hello, my name is.... She also acted extremely irritated that we had the nerve to all order water (we already had cocktails, from our 10-15 minute wait that turned to 30+)...no eye contact when ordering...slamming cups down...we had to flag her down to get the rest of our food delivered and refills. No thank you when she dropped the check, which she literally just walked by and dropped on the table. I asked to speak to the manager when we left and this garbage server was the manager?! This restaurant is comparable to your neighborhood Denny's. The food is really cheap and highly processed. We only came here because the wait at Pepe's next door was too long - However, I would suggest waiting. The waitress even mentioned to us that the pancakes are filled with all kinds of terribly unhealthy things. Coffee was pretty horrendous. Even the bacon was soggy and of very poor quality. Try their Harpoon Harry's sauce , it's a spin off of a hot sauce . They also sell it so you can take it back home with you . Woohoo! A diner! An awesome diner! The mate from the ParaWest boat recommended Harpoon Harry's for a recovery Bloody Mary. The Mary came with a spear of a half-sour and a skewer of olive, jalapeño slice, and a pickled pepper. Yum! The Mary isn't hot, but if you trust their idea of "spicy", then give the Bloody Harry a go. The breakfasts are big, so make sure you have an appetite (if you don't, you can have a bagel with cream cheese). I had the Heaping Harry, a mound of potatoes on a slice of ham topped with two eggs your way, cheese, and sausage gravy. It comes with toast, not that I had room for it! We came to breakfast here after a local told us it's better than Blue Heaven. Well I haven't been to Blue HeAven but this place was delicious and cheap. My bf had the poor boy country steak which he loved. I even tried it and it was great but I'd ask for the gravy on the side so it won't get soggy. I was drawn to this bright, pink building, but walking inside was even better!!! Funky artwork abounded, so much so, I had trouble settling down to the menu...Like the fantastic Sarasota Whimsey museum, I was intrigued! The menu choices were wonderful as well; making it hard to choose...Mike got his standard ham and cheese omelet with potatoes and toast while I chose their quiche of the day with fruit. What was outstanding is the quiche was served with the most delicious fresh fruit bowl, sliced tomatoes and romaine lettuce. Everything was so fresh and tasty including the quiche! After the meal as we were walking out, Mike got talking to the owner. He was just as delightful as the restaurant and explained that the majority of the artwork was done by local artists. Find another place to eat. The food was underwhelming to say the least. Unless you enjoy over cooked bacon, hard eggs and frozen fruit that's been thawed with no taste. Not to mention the hostess has a pissy attitude, no smile and she acted like it was a chore to seat us. A little surprised by the naked paintings on the walls which continued to be distracting throughout the meal. The service wasn't that great. One member of our party would've gotten the wrong order if I hadn't spoken up because the waitress had heard him wrong. Small place bit worth the wait. They have a full bar so the wait isn't to bad. The staff knows all the locals and everyone seems like family and you are treated that way by the friendly staff here .
