If you're looking for a quick bite to eat or grab a quick drink before your flight and time isn't really on your side, this is the place! My flight boarded at 9:35pm and I sat down around 915pm and I was in and out within a half an hour; Service was good and quick! The food however was bot good at all. I got the chicken wrap and it was not really edible. It was drenched in mild bbq sauce (not expecting that as it said ranch on the menu) and there was barely any chicken. Let's be honest, ALL airport restaurants could put in more effort to provide a more quality product. This place is no different. Got the Holy Cow burger, it is quite average. The patty is way too big and was MAYBE seasoned with salt, very plain. The Gouda cheese, steak sauce, and "candied" bacon are decent touches but are drowned out by the flavorless patty. There's probably worse places but this is quite average to mediocre. Prices are high but that's the airport unfortunately. read more

This place doesn't look like much from the outside. A bar with a huge TV showing off live sports at one end, sports memorabilia on thr outside walls, and a countdown calendar to Cubs' opening day over the kitchen entrance. Honesty though? The food is real good, the staff is friendly, and the whole place gives off a real sports bar and restaurant vibe that I would want to eat at even outside of an airport. I got the Blackened Tallgrass Burger with fries. The fries were thicker cut and seasoned well. I dipped them in the chipotle aioli sauce, and I loved them. The real star though? The burger. The meat was juicy and thick, and there was a pleasant mild heat from the pepper jack and jalapeños that really elevated the entire thing. In short: Harry Carey's Shortstop has genuinely good food that is well worth the value at Midway airport. They were also able to get me in and out within thirty minutes, and they had other customers there at 8:30 PM on a Saturday. This spot is in Concourse A at Midway and is a long bar with a small table sitting area in the middle of the terminal towards the back. It is an easy spot to pull up and get a beer and a bite while you wait. The menu is small and features sports bar food. They offered a turkey chili and it was served with all the fixings. It was well made and had chunks of meat and was flavorful. The holy cow burger was a thick patty and the candied bacon was great. It was made well but they gave me some really wilted lettuce so that wasn't a good look. I got fries with it and it was maybe a handful. They could have done better at the little things and this would have been much better. With so many options here, it is tough to pick this spot unless you are flying out nearby. read more

Kind of a cool concept! It's basically all bar type seating and a couple tiny tables in the middle of an airport. Small menu, but their kitchen is tiny; it needs to be to fit in the space. Our waitress was nice, and the food was good. Really my only complaint was that everything was served on paper. Paper plates, plastic silverware, plastic cups. I suppose washing dishes is hard in this very unique 'restaurant,' but that was a little odd. The ranch dressing was delish! Hubby liked his beer choices. I got a soda. It's all very expensive, but it's an airport. EVERYTHING is expensive in an airport. I think my grilled cheese and fries were $19.50. My husband's burger was $22. The food was good. The memorabilia in the windows surrounding the kitchen unit is pretty cool, especially if you're a baseball fan. If I'm ever in this airport again we'll eat here. They did a good job considering it's an airport stop. We had a long layover and were able to sit an eat. Food seemed fine and the servers were friendly. Prices consistent with the airport, so expect some dollars to leave you as with any place there. I was scrolling through airport food stops in anticipation of something to relieve me from my all day diet of airplane "snack mix". I was not too hopeful for anything good, ya know, it's an airport. I came a cross a 4 star place. Ok! What's the catch? Did someone pay off a bunch of bored tourists or what. As I got closer my thought was "oh, people just like to watch their favorite team is on the sports channels" as the tv line the top outside of the bar. I'm happy to say I was erroneously skeptical! The sweet potato fries are like crack. I sped through them while they were nice and hot. I got the Holy Cow burger and it was also surprisingly great. A nice thick lean patty cooked a perfect medium for a thick burger. The sauce was so good I had to ask for extra. This place was a much needed relief to our day, not to mention the generously mixed alcoholic drink. THANK YOU!!! Hard pass. It's at the end of the A Concord at Midway and the last option for a cocktail before our flight. It's an open center walkway bar with no ambiance. Two beers $26. Bartender didn't even turn around to serve us and the entire 15 minutes we've been sitting here, she hasn't left chatting with a customer. (Mgmt, check your cameras) Moved aways down the bar in front of another bartender. His entire greeting was just looking up at us like WTF do you want. Do yourself a favor and stop in the center of the A/B Concord and try something else. read more

Pretty good bar for an airport! There's limited seating as it is strictly bar stools but if you can get a spot it's definitely worth it. There are TVs for sports and the service here is always really quick! Prices are steep but typical for airports, and they actually have a great breakfast menu. Located in concourse A of Midway airport, this long counter service bar/restaurant is overall a poor experience. I stopped for breakfast so I can't speak to the drinks, but aside from lots of TVs, this place was a straight miss. To start, the service is not good. Mostly, the bartenders choose to ignore you. It could be that they are just understaffed , but no one was friendly and everything took a long time. They delivered my food without silverware, so I had to wait about 5 minutes before I could flag someone to give me silverware. When I tried to close, I had to ask multiple people and wait about 15 minutes to pay my check. I ordered the 2 eggs plate which included 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, breakfast potatoes and a piece of toast for $15.99. I also ordered coffee. The food was very mediocre, borderline bad. The coffee was lukewarm but tasted fine. If this place wasn't in an airport there would be no way it could stay in business.
